Detailed Description
The following description with reference to the accompanying drawings is provided to assist in a comprehensive understanding of the embodiments of the disclosure as defined by the claims and their equivalents. Various specific details are included to aid understanding, but these are to be considered exemplary only. Accordingly, those of ordinary skill in the art will recognize that various changes and modifications of the embodiments described herein can be made without departing from the scope and spirit of the present disclosure. In addition, descriptions of well-known functions and constructions are omitted for clarity and conciseness.
In the present disclosure, terms including ordinal numbers such as "first", "second", etc., may be used to describe various elements, but these elements should not be construed as being limited to only these terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one element from another. For example, a first element could be termed a second element, and vice-versa, without departing from the scope of the present disclosure.
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein like reference numerals refer to the like elements throughout. Hereinafter, according to various embodiments of the present disclosure, an apparatus and a method of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 is a flowchart illustrating a screen brightness adjustment method of an electronic device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The screen brightness adjustment method illustrated in fig. 1 may be performed in an electronic device.
The electronic device may be any electronic device having a display function. In an example embodiment of the present disclosure, the electronic device may include, for example, but not limited to, a portable communication device (e.g., a smartphone), a computer device, a portable multimedia device, a portable medical device, a wearable device, and the like. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the electronic device is not limited to those mobile terminals described above.
Referring to fig. 1, in step S101, it is determined whether an application currently running in the electronic device is included in the screen brightness adjustment application list. The screen Brightness adjustment application list is a list storing applications suitable for Intelligent Brightness Control (IBC) to implement screen Brightness adjustment in an intelligent scene. The screen brightness adjustment application list may be a fixed list or a dynamic list. In the present disclosure, since each user is different in commonly used applications and downloads new applications according to the need, in order to meet the need of each user and conform to the user's habit, a dynamic list may be employed as the screen brightness adjustment application list, so that a dedicated screen brightness adjustment application list is customized for each user and updated periodically (e.g., daily, weekly, or monthly). How to implement the dynamic update of the screen brightness adjustment application list will be described in detail below with reference to fig. 2.
IBC is a method for dynamically adjusting screen brightness according to RBG gray scale values of current picture content, for example, the suitable screen brightness is correspondingly reduced based on different gray scale values of the picture, and the larger the picture gray scale value is, the more the reduced brightness is, the lower the picture gray scale value is, the brightness is not reduced, and the like, thereby ensuring good viewing experience of a user and saving power consumption of electronic equipment.
When the foreground application is switched, the packet name of the switched current foreground application is obtained, the packet name of the current foreground application is compared with the packet name of the application existing in the screen brightness adjusting application list, if the packet name of the application is included in the screen brightness adjusting application list, the step S102 is carried out, otherwise, the application is not the target application suitable for adjusting the screen brightness scheme according to the picture content, namely, the intelligent brightness control is not started.
In step S102, if it is determined that the currently running application is included in the screen brightness adjustment application list, screen brightness adjustment is performed using the intelligent brightness control method according to the picture content of the currently running application. When the user runs the application belonging to the screen brightness adjusting application list, the screen brightness can be adaptively adjusted according to the content change of the current application.
Fig. 2 is a flowchart illustrating a method of updating a screen brightness adjustment application list according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure.
Referring to fig. 2, in step S201, a screen brightness adjustment application list is created and initialized. In the present disclosure, the screen brightness adjustment application list is set as a dynamic list because a fixed list preset by the electronic device manufacturer may not satisfy the requirements of all users, for example, some applications rarely used by the user are added to the screen brightness adjustment application list, some applications commonly used by the user are not added to the screen brightness adjustment application list, or an application newly downloaded by the user is applicable to the IBC technology but cannot be added to the screen brightness adjustment application list, thereby causing a limitation of intelligent brightness adjustment.
A dynamic list may be previously set as a screen brightness adjustment application list, applications existing in the electronic device may be classified into a first type of application suitable for screen brightness adjustment and a second type of application unsuitable for screen brightness adjustment, and the first type of application may be stored as a preset application in the screen brightness adjustment application list and a default usage data-related value may be assigned to the first type of application, respectively.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the first type of application may include chat type applications (such as WeChat, etc.), news type applications (Internet news, etc.), browser type applications (such as UC browser, etc.), shopping type applications (such as Taobao, etc.), reading type applications (such as QQ reading, etc.), and other applications suitable for screen brightness adjustment, and the second type of application may include system type applications, navigation type applications (such as Gade maps), game type applications, and other applications not suitable for screen brightness adjustment (such as Samsung cameras, Samsung photo albums, etc.). However, the above examples are merely exemplary, and the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
At the time of list initialization, a mainstream application (for example, an application ranked at a predetermined position in a download list of an application store) in a reading class, a news class, a browser class, a shopping class, or a chatting class application may be added as a preset application to the screen brightness adjustment application list, while the first class application is not all added to the screen brightness adjustment application list.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, preferably, the usage data may be screen power consumption data of the application, and the usage data related value may be a screen power consumption percentage of the application. However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto.
As an example, when a first type of application (or a mainstream application belonging to the first type of application) is added to the screen brightness adjustment application list, default screen power consumption percentage values are respectively assigned to the applications added to the screen brightness adjustment application list. For example, a default screen power consumption percentage value of an application added to the screen brightness adjustment application list may be set to 20. However, the present disclosure is not limited thereto, and the default screen power consumption percentage may be differently set according to design requirements.
Further, applications such as system class, navigation class, game class, etc. may be added to another dynamic list as an excluded application list.
Alternatively, when initializing the screen brightness adjustment application list, the screen brightness adjustment application list may be classified into a first sub-list and a second sub-list according to user habits. For example, the first sub-list is a work day list and the second sub-list is a rest day list. In the list initialization phase, the first sublist and the second sublist may be set to the same dynamic list.
In step S202, usage data of each application present in the electronic device is acquired within a predetermined period of time. Battery status and detailed power consumption data of each application in the electronic device used by the user may be acquired periodically. For example, battery status and detailed power consumption data of the respective applications used in the electronic device by the user may be acquired daily or weekly. When the usage data is set as the screen power consumption data of the application, the screen power consumption percentage of each application may be calculated according to the power consumption percentage of 100/battery capacity.
In step S203, the screen brightness adjustment application list is updated according to the acquired use data.
The usage data-related value of each application included in the screen brightness adjustment application list may be attenuated by a specific value at predetermined time intervals. If the usage data-related value of a specific application in each application decays to equal to or less than zero, the specific application is deleted from the screen brightness adjustment application list.
As an example, the screen power consumption percentage of the applications in the screen brightness adjustment application list may be attenuated by a certain value every day, every week, or every month, for example, the screen power consumption percentage of the applications in the screen brightness adjustment application list may be attenuated by 2 every day, or 10 every week. The above examples are merely illustrative, and the present disclosure is not limited thereto. And if the power consumption percentage of the screen is less than 0, deleting the corresponding application from the screen brightness adjusting application list so as to dynamically delete the application which is not used by the user in the screen brightness adjusting application list recently.
The applications may be sorted according to the usage data related values, a plurality of first applications sorted in the applications are compared with the applications included in the screen brightness adjustment application list, and the screen brightness adjustment application list is updated according to the comparison result. Specifically, if the first application is not in the screen brightness adjustment application list and does not belong to the second type of application that is not suitable for screen brightness adjustment, the first application is added to the screen brightness adjustment application list. If the first application is not in the screen brightness adjustment application list and belongs to the second class of applications, the first application is not added to the screen brightness adjustment application list. If the first application is in the screen brightness adjustment application list, the usage data related value of the first application is accumulated to the usage data related value of the same application in the screen brightness adjustment application list.
As an example, after the screen power consumption data of each application in the electronic device is obtained, the screen power consumption data of each application may be sorted from large to small, and the applications ranked in the top five bits may be selected. And comparing the packet name of the selected application with the packet names of the applications in the screen brightness adjusting application list, and if the selected application is the application in the screen brightness adjusting application list, accumulating the screen power consumption data of the selected application to the screen power consumption data of the corresponding application in the screen brightness adjusting application list. For example, the wechat application has previously existed in the screen brightness adjustment application list and the recorded screen power consumption percentage in the screen brightness adjustment application list is 18%, and according to the acquired screen power consumption percentage, the screen power consumption percentage of the wechat application is 4% and the second bit of each application is listed, at which time the screen power consumption percentage of the wechat application is added to the screen power consumption percentage of the application in the screen brightness adjustment application list. If the selected application is not the application in the screen brightness adjusting application list, and the screen power consumption percentage of the application is listed as the first five bits according to the acquired screen power consumption percentage, adding the application into the screen brightness adjusting application list, and taking the acquired screen power consumption percentage of the application as the default power consumption percentage of the application, namely initializing the use data related value of the application to the currently acquired application screen power consumption percentage. If the application belongs to the second type of application, the application is not processed.
Alternatively, only the battery status and the screen power consumption data of the applications other than the second type of application may be acquired because the applications such as a camera, a game, etc. are not suitable for the screen brightness adjustment, and therefore only the screen power consumption data of the remaining applications are counted. For example, after acquiring the screen power consumption data of the applications in the electronic device, the applications belonging to the second class or existing in the application exclusion list may be excluded, and the screen power consumption data of the remaining applications may be counted.
Optionally, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a first application, of the applications of the electronic device, whose usage data related value exceeds a predetermined threshold, may be compared with applications included in the screen brightness adjustment application list, and the screen brightness adjustment application list may be updated according to a comparison result. If the first application is not in the screen brightness adjustment application list and does not belong to the second type of application that is not suitable for screen brightness adjustment (not present in the excluded application list), the first application is added to the screen brightness adjustment application list.
For example, according to the acquired power consumption percentage of the application in the electronic device, the package name of the application with the power consumption percentage exceeding 5% is compared with the package names of the applications existing in the screen brightness adjustment application list, and if the application is an application in the screen brightness adjustment application list, the screen power consumption data of the application is added to the screen power consumption data of the corresponding application in the screen brightness adjustment application list. For example, the wechat application previously exists in the screen brightness adjustment application list and the recorded screen power consumption percentage in the screen brightness adjustment application list is 18%, and according to the acquired screen power consumption percentage, the screen power consumption percentage of the wechat application is 7% and exceeds the preset screen power consumption percentage by 5%, at this time, the screen power consumption percentage of the wechat application is added to the screen power consumption percentage of the application in the screen brightness adjustment application list. If the application is not the application in the screen brightness adjustment application list, the screen power consumption percentage of the application exceeds the preset screen power consumption percentage by 5% according to the acquired screen power consumption percentage, the application is added to the screen brightness adjustment application list, and the acquired screen power consumption percentage of the application is used as the default screen power consumption percentage of the application, namely, the usage data related value of the application is initialized to the currently acquired application screen power consumption percentage. If the application belongs to the second type of application, the application is not processed.
According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, when a new application is installed in an electronic device, it may be determined whether the new application belongs to a first class of applications suitable for screen brightness adjustment. If the new application belongs to the first type of application, usage data of the new application is acquired. If the usage data related value of the new application exceeds a predetermined threshold, or the new application is ranked within the first several positions in the applications existing in the electronic device and the new application according to the usage data related value, adding the new application to the screen brightness adjustment application list, and adding the usage data of the new application as a default usage data related value of the new application to the screen brightness adjustment application list.
As an example, when a newly downloaded application of a user belongs to a chat-type application and is ranked in the first five bits of the application in the electronic device according to the acquired usage data (such as the power consumption percentage of the screen) of the application, the newly downloaded application is stored in the screen brightness adjustment application list to achieve that the screen brightness is adaptively adjusted when the content of the new application changes during the running, thereby ensuring a good reading experience of the user while saving the power consumption of the screen.
According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, when the screen brightness adjustment application list is initialized, if a first sub-list (such as a working day sub-list) and a second sub-list (such as a resting day sub-list) are initialized according to user habits, the first sub-list and the second sub-list may be updated accordingly according to the acquired usage data and the time corresponding to the usage data. For example, whether the screen power consumption data of the application in the electronic device corresponds to a working day or a resting day is determined, and then the percentage of the screen power consumption in the working day list or the resting day list corresponding to the screen brightness adjustment application list is updated every day, every week, or every month. However, the above is merely exemplary, and the number of sub-lists is not limited thereto.
Fig. 3 is a block diagram illustrating a screen brightness adjusting apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure. The screen brightness adjusting apparatus 300 may be implemented by software or hardware (such as an on-chip).
Referring to fig. 3, the screen brightness adjusting apparatus 300 may include a determining module 301 and an updating module 302. Each module in the screen brightness adjusting apparatus 300 may be implemented by one or more modules, and names of the corresponding modules may vary according to types of the modules. In various embodiments, some modules in the screen brightness adjustment apparatus 300 may be omitted, or additional modules may be further included. Furthermore, modules/elements according to various embodiments of the present disclosure may be combined to form a single entity, and thus the functions of the respective modules/elements may be equivalently performed prior to the combination.
The determination module 301 may determine whether an application currently running in the electronic device is included in the screen brightness adjustment application list. If it is determined that the currently running application is included in the screen brightness adjustment application list, the determination module 301 performs screen brightness adjustment using the intelligent brightness control method according to the picture content of the currently running application.
The update module 302 may create and initialize a list of screen brightness adjustment applications. The update module 302 can classify applications in the electronic device into a first class of applications suitable for screen brightness adjustment and a second class of applications not suitable for screen brightness adjustment and store the first class of applications in a screen brightness adjustment application list and assign default usage data related values to the first class of applications and store the second class of applications in an excluded application list, respectively.
The first type of application may include chat-type applications, news-type applications, browser-type applications, shopping-type applications, reading-type applications, and other applications suitable for screen brightness adjustment, and the second type of application may include system-type applications, navigation-type applications, game-type applications, and other applications not suitable for screen brightness adjustment.
The usage data may be screen power consumption data of the application, and the usage data related value may be a screen power consumption percentage of the application.
Alternatively, in initializing the screen brightness adjustment application list, the screen brightness adjustment application list may be divided into different sub-lists according to user habits, for example, the screen brightness adjustment application list may be divided into a work day list and a rest day list.
The update module 302 may obtain usage data for each application in the electronic device over a predetermined period of time.
The update module 302 may update the screen brightness adjustment application list according to the acquired usage data. The update list 302 may attenuate the usage data related value of each application included in the screen brightness adjustment application list by a specific value at predetermined time intervals, and delete a specific application from the screen brightness adjustment application list if the usage data related value of the specific application in each application is attenuated to be equal to or less than zero.
The updating module 302 may compare a first application, among applications of the electronic device, whose usage data related value exceeds a predetermined threshold, with applications included in the screen brightness adjustment application list, and update the screen brightness adjustment application list according to a comparison result.
Optionally, the updating module 302 may rank the applications in the electronic device according to the usage data related values, compare the top ranked first applications in each application with the applications included in the screen brightness adjustment application list, and update the screen brightness adjustment application list according to the comparison result.
If the first application is not in the screen brightness adjustment application list and does not belong to the second class of applications that are not suitable for screen brightness adjustment, the update module 302 adds the first application to the screen brightness adjustment application list. If the first application is not in the screen brightness adjustment application list and belongs to the second class of applications, the update module 302 does not add the first application to the screen brightness adjustment application list. If the first application is in the screen brightness adjustment application list, the update module 302 may accumulate the usage data related value of the first application to the usage data related value of the same application in the screen brightness adjustment application list.
Alternatively, when the screen brightness adjustment application list is divided into different sub-lists at the time of initialization, the updating may be performed respectively according to the divided sub-lists. For example, whether the electronic device is a workday or a holiday is determined according to the date corresponding to the screen power consumption data of the application of the electronic device, and then the screen power consumption data in the workday list and the holiday list are updated regularly.
When a new application is installed in the electronic device, the determination module 301 may determine whether the new application belongs to a first type of application suitable for screen brightness adjustment. If the new application belongs to the first class of applications, the update module 302 obtains usage data for the new application. If the usage data related value of the new application exceeds a predetermined threshold or the new application is ranked within the top several locations (e.g., top five) in the electronic device according to the usage data related value and the application of the new application, the update module 302 adds the new application to the screen brightness adjustment application list.
