Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 to 4 are schematic diagrams of a display device 100 according to an embodiment of the invention, wherein fig. 1 is a top view of the display device 100, and fig. 2 is a bottom view of the display device 100.
As shown in fig. 1-2, the display device 100 includes: a first display unit 101 disposed on a first surface of the display device 100; and two folds. In the illustrated embodiment, the two folding portions include a first folding portion 111 and a second folding portion 112, and the first folding portion 111 and the second folding portion 112 are symmetrically disposed on two sides of a central axis C of the first display unit 101.
The first display unit 101 is divided into a first display portion 101A, a second display portion 101B, and a third display portion 101C by the first folding portion 111 and the second folding portion 112, and the second display portion 101B is located between the first folding portion 111 and the second folding portion 112. The first display unit 101 can be selectively folded or unfolded along the first folding portion 111 or the second folding portion 112.
In addition, the display device 100 further includes a second display unit 102 disposed on a second surface of the display device 100, wherein the first surface is disposed opposite to the second surface, and the second display unit 102 can also be selectively bent or unfolded along the first folding portion 111 or the second folding portion 112.
In fig. 1, the first side faces in a first direction (i.e., outward from the sheet) and the second side faces in a second direction (i.e., inward of the sheet) opposite the first direction. When the display device 100 is bent around the first folding portion 111 or the second folding portion 112, at least a portion of the second display unit 102 faces the first direction. In addition, the first fold 111 or the second fold 112 may include one or more hinges.
In one embodiment, as shown in fig. 2, the second display unit 102 includes at least a fourth display portion 102A and a fifth display portion 102B separated from each other. The fourth display portion 102A is located on the second face on the opposite side of the first fold portion 111 from the second fold portion 112, and the fifth display portion 102B is located on the second face on the opposite side of the second fold portion 112 from the first fold portion 111.
Further, the display device 100 further includes: a bezel area 103 adjacent to the first display unit 101 and/or the second display unit 102; and two camera modules, set up in frame district 103, including first camera module 104A and second camera module 104B, wherein first camera module 104A locates first folded portion 111 with the one side that second folded portion 112 is relative, second camera module 104B locates second folded portion 112 with one side that first folded portion 111 is relative.
Hereinafter, the bending of the display device 100 will be described in detail.
As shown in fig. 3 to 4, the first camera module 104A and the second camera module 104B are disposed on a surface of the frame area 103 facing the first direction. Specifically, the first camera module 104A and the second camera module 104B may be disposed at opposite corners of opposite sides of the frame region 103.
In fig. 3, the display device 100 and the frame area 103 are sized such that, when the display device 100 is bent toward the first face around the first folding portion 111, the first display unit 101 and the first camera module 104A are shielded, the second camera module 104B is not shielded, and the fourth display portion 102A and the second camera module 104B face the first direction. Thus, when the folded display device 100 is viewed in the first direction or the second direction, a display portion (the fourth display portion 102A or the fifth display portion 102B) can be seen.
In fig. 4, the display device 100 and the frame area 103 are sized such that, when the display device 100 is bent toward the first surface around the second folding portion 112, the first display unit 101 and the second camera module 104B are shielded, the first camera module 104A is not shielded, and the fifth display unit 102B and the first camera module 104A face the first direction. Similarly, when the folded display device 100 is viewed along the first direction or the second direction, a display portion (the fourth display portion 102A or the fifth display portion 102B) can be seen.
Therefore, when needed, the first folding portion 111 or the second folding portion 112 can be selected to fold the display device 100, so that the material stress deformation of a single folding portion is reduced, and the service life of the display device 100 is prolonged. Moreover, the folded display device 100 has a display portion along the first direction or the second direction, so that the requirement of shooting front and rear images can be realized only by turning the display device 100, and a camera module is not required to be arranged on the other surface of the frame area 103.
In addition, although not shown, it should be appreciated that when the display device 100 is bent toward the second surface around the first folding portion 111 or the second folding portion 112, the second display unit 102 is shielded, and neither the first camera module 104A nor the second camera module 104B is shielded. When the folded display device 100 is viewed along the first direction or the second direction, the first display portion 101A or the third display portion 101C can be seen. Thus, the functions described above can be realized by the cooperation of the first display unit 101A and the third display unit 101C, and the first camera module 104A and the second camera module 104B.
Fig. 5-8 are schematic diagrams of a display device 100 according to another embodiment of the invention. Compared with the embodiment shown in fig. 1 to 4, the difference is only that the first camera module 104A and the second camera module 104B are disposed on the side facing the second direction on the frame area 103. The other components and their functions are the same or similar. Accordingly, other identical components and their functions are not described in detail.
As shown in fig. 7, the display device 100 and the frame area 103 are sized such that, when the display device 100 is bent toward the first surface around the first folding portion 111, the first display unit 101 is shielded, neither the first camera module 104A nor the second camera module 104B is shielded, and the fourth display portion 102A and the first camera module 104A face the first direction. Similarly, when the folded display device 100 is viewed along the first direction or the second direction, a display portion (the fourth display portion 102A or the fifth display portion 102B) can be seen.
As shown in the figure, the display device 100 and the frame area 103 are sized such that, when the display device 100 is bent toward the first surface around the second folding portion 112, the first display unit 101 is shielded, neither the first camera module 104A nor the second camera module 104B is shielded, and the fifth display portion 102B and the second camera module 104B face the first direction. Similarly, when the folded display device 100 is viewed along the first direction or the second direction, a display portion (the fourth display portion 102A or the fifth display portion 102B) can be seen.
In addition, although not shown, it should be appreciated that when the display device 100 is bent toward the second surface around the first folding portion 111 or the second folding portion 112, the second display unit 102 is shielded, and one of the first camera module 104A and the second camera module 104B is not shielded. When the folded display device 100 is viewed along the first direction or the second direction, the first display portion 101A or the third display portion 101C can be seen. Thus, the first display unit 101A and the third display unit 101C, and the first camera module 104A or the second camera module 104B are used in cooperation with each other, and thus, the need for taking front and rear images can be satisfied even if the images are not reversed.
While certain embodiments of the present invention have been described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of example only, and not limitation. Modifications and substitutions may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the principles of the present application. For example, in the above embodiment, two camera modules are disposed in the frame region of the display device, but the display device may also have a plurality of camera modules, and the camera modules are disposed in the display unit.
In summary, the present invention provides a display device, which can select any folding portion to fold the display device when necessary, so as to alleviate the material stress deformation of the single folding portion, thereby prolonging the service life of the display device.
This written description uses examples to disclose the invention, including the best mode, and also to enable any person skilled in the art to practice the invention, including making and using any devices or systems and performing any incorporated methods. The patentable scope of the invention is defined by the claims, and may include other examples that occur to those skilled in the art. Such other examples are intended to be within the scope of the claims if they have structural elements that do not differ from the literal language of the claims, or if they include equivalent structural elements with insubstantial differences from the literal languages of the claims.
