The water diversion device comprises a water inlet, a plurality of water outlets communicated with the water inlet through pipelines, a waterway control valve of the water outlets, a master control system connected with the waterway control valve, and a communication system connected with the master control system, wherein the water inlet is used for being connected with an output pipeline of the water purification device, and the water outlets are used for being connected with an input pipeline of household appliances. The control method of the water diversion device comprises the following steps: the communication system receives the message sent by the household appliance and informs the master control system; and the master control system controls the waterway control valve of the water outlet accessed by the household appliance to be opened or closed according to the message sent by the household appliance. The water distribution device and the control method thereof can intelligently and reliably complete automatic water supply of the intelligent household appliance, facilitate the life of a user and ensure that the user does not need to manually supply water to the intelligent household appliance; and one device can solve the water supply problem of a plurality of intelligent household appliances simultaneously, and also solves the water quality safety problem of the intelligent household appliances.
