The control method of the water diversion device comprises the following steps: the communication system receives the message sent by the household appliance and informs the master control system; and the master control system controls the waterway control valve of the water outlet accessed by the household appliance to be opened or closed according to the message sent by the household appliance. The water distribution device and the control method thereof can intelligently and reliably complete automatic water supply of the intelligent household appliance, facilitate the life of a user and ensure that the user does not need to manually supply water to the intelligent household appliance; and one device can solve the water supply problem of a plurality of intelligent household appliances simultaneously, and the water quality safety problem of the intelligent household appliances is also solved.
