当前的显示装置技术依赖于液晶显示器(LCD),这是工业和住宅应用中使用最广泛的一个平板显示器。然而,下一代装置将具有低能耗、紧凑尺寸和高亮度,需要改善色域(NTSC比率)。
背景技术
显示器中使用的LED背光单元(BLU)基于蓝色LED、绿色磷光体和红色磷光体的组合。LED BLU的色域很大程度上取决于磷光体的选择。红色磷光体K2SiF6:Mn4+具有半峰全宽(FWHM)为6至8nm的峰值,产生与发射峰的相对强度相对应的高颜色再现性。绿色磷光体β-SiAlON:Eu2+具有46至52nm的半宽度,并且具有534nm的峰值波长,这不是纯绿色而是黄绿色。因此,还需要新的发绿光的磷光体,其有效地吸收蓝色辐射,提供高量子效率,并具有改善的显色性。
发明内容

本文公开的发绿光的磷光体可吸收近紫外或蓝光区域(波长范围在约400nm至470nm之间)中的辐射,并在发射峰值集中在约510nm至约540nm,特别是约520nm至约530nm的波长范围内的窄区域中发射。在一些实施方式中,这些磷光体可以在磷光体混合物中使用,以产生白光。这些窄的发绿光的磷光体尤其可用于显示应用。
在一些实施方式中,激活剂离子可以进一步存在于发绿光的磷光体中,例如,Mn2+、Mn4+、Ce3+、Sn2+、Bi3+、Sb3+、Cr3+、Tb3+、Pr3+、Eu3+、Ti4+、In+、Tl+、Dy3+和Pb2+。在发绿光的磷光体包括掺铀磷光体(例如,组合物(A40)-(A62))的实施方式中,激活剂离子可以作为额外的激活剂离子而存在。
本公开的装置可以用作一般照明和显示应用的照明和背光设备。示例包括彩色灯、等离子屏幕、氙激发灯、紫外线激发标记系统、汽车前照灯、家庭和剧院投影仪、激光泵浦装置、点传感器、液晶显示器(LCD)背光单元、电视机、计算机监视器、移动电话、智能手机、平板电脑和具有包括本文所述的LED源的显示器的其他手持装置。这些应用的列表仅仅是示例性的,而不是详尽的。
图1示出了根据本公开的一个实施方式的装置10。装置10包括LED光源12和磷光体材料14,磷光体材料14包括在本公开中如上所述的发绿光的磷光体。LED光源12可以包括紫外或发射蓝光的LED。在一些实施方式中,LED光源12产生波长范围从大约440nm到大约460nm的蓝光。在装置10中,包括如本文所述的发绿光的磷光体的磷光体材料14光学耦合到LED光源12。光学耦合意味着来自LED光源12的辐射能够激发磷光体材料14,并且磷光体材料14能够响应于辐射的激发而发光。磷光体材料14可以设置在LED光源12的一部分上,或者远离LED光源12。
LED光源可以是无机LED光源或有机LED光源。本文使用的术语“LED光源”是指包括所有的LED光源,例如,半导体激光二极管(LD)、无机发光二极管、有机发光二极管(OLED)或LED和LD的混合物。此外,应该理解,除非另有说明,否则LED光源可以由另一辐射源代替、补充或增强,并且对半导体、半导体LED或LED芯片的任何引用仅表示任何合适的辐射源,包括但不限于LD和OLED。
在一些实施方式中,磷光体材料14另外包括化学式I的发红光的磷光体:A2[MF6]:Mn4+,其中,A是Li、Na、K、Rb、Cs或其组合;并且M是Si、Ge、Sn、Ti、Zr、Al、Ga、In、Sc、Hf、Y、La、Nb、Ta、Bi、Gd或其组合。化学式I的发红光的磷光体光学耦合到LED光源12。在US 7,497,973和US 8,906,724以及转让给通用电气公司的相关专利中描述了化学式I的磷光体。
化学式I的发红光的磷光体的示例包括K2[SiF6]:Mn4+、K2[TiF6]:Mn4+、K2[SnF6]:Mn4 +、Cs2[TiF6]:Mn4+、Rb2[TiF6]:Mn4+、Cs2[SiF6]:Mn4+、Rb2[SiF6]:Mn4+、Na2[TiF6]:Mn4+、Na2[ZrF6]:Mn4+、K3[ZrF7]:Mn4+、K3[BiF7]:Mn4+、K3[YF7]:Mn4+、K3[LaF7]:Mn4+、K3[GdF7]:Mn4+、K3[NbF7]:Mn4+或K3[TaF7]:Mn4+。在一些实施方式中,化学式I的磷光体是K2SiF6:Mn4+。
磷光体材料14可以以任何形式存在,例如,粉末、玻璃、复合材料,例如,磷光体-聚合物复合材料或磷光体-玻璃复合材料。此外,磷光体材料14可以用作层、片、带、分散颗粒或其组合。在一些实施方式中,磷光体材料14包括玻璃形式的发绿光的磷光体。在这些实施方式中的一些中,装置10可以包括磷光体轮(图中未示出)形式的磷光体材料14。磷光体轮可以包括玻璃形式的发绿光的磷光体。在先前提交的专利申请序列号PCT/US17/31654中描述了磷光体轮和相关装置。
在一些实施方式中,装置10可以是用于显示应用的背光单元。在这些实施方式中,包括发绿光的磷光体的磷光体材料14可以以安装或设置在LED光源12的表面上的片或条的形式存在。在先前提交的专利申请序列号15/370762中描述了背光单元和相关装置。
图2示出了根据一些实施方式的照明设备或灯100。照明设备100包括LED芯片22和电连接到LED芯片22的引线24。引线24可以包括由较厚的引线框架26支撑的细线,或者引线24可以包括自支撑电极,并且可以省略引线框架。引线24向LED芯片22提供电流,从而使其发出辐射。
LED芯片22可以封装在包络28内。包络28可以由例如玻璃或塑料形成。LED芯片22可以被封装材料32包围。封装材料32可以是低温玻璃或本领域已知的聚合物或树脂,例如,环氧树脂、硅树脂、环氧硅树脂、丙烯酸酯或其组合。在替代实施方式中,照明设备100可以仅包括封装材料32,而不包括包络28。包络28和封装材料32都应该是透明的,以允许光透过这些元件。
继续参考图2,包括如本文所述的发绿光的磷光体的磷光体材料的层30设置在LED芯片22的表面21上。层30可以通过任何合适的方法设置,例如,使用通过混合硅树脂和磷光体材料而制备的浆料。在一种这样的方法中,磷光体材料颗粒随机悬浮在其中的硅树脂浆料放置在LED芯片22周围。该方法仅仅是层30和LED芯片22的可能位置的示例。如图所示,层30可以例如通过在LED芯片22上涂覆和干燥浆料而设置在LED芯片22的表面21上或直接涂覆在表面21上。表面21是LED芯片22的发光表面。由LED芯片22发射的光与由层30的磷光体材料发射的光混合,以产生期望的发射。
在一些其他实施方式中,包括本文所述的发绿光的磷光体的磷光体材料散布在封装材料32内,而不是如图2所示直接设置在LED芯片22上。图3示出了照明设备300,其包括散布在封装材料32的一部分内的磷光体材料的颗粒34。磷光体材料的颗粒可以散布在封装材料32的整个体积中。由LED芯片22发射的蓝光与由磷光体材料的颗粒34发射的光混合,并且混合的光从照明设备200透射出去。
在一些其他实施方式中,如图4所示,包括发绿光的磷光体的磷光体材料层36涂覆到包络28的表面上,而不是形成在LED芯片22上(图2)。如图所示,层36涂覆在包络28的内表面29上,尽管如果需要,层36可以涂覆在包络28的外表面上。层36可以涂覆在包络28的整个表面上,或者仅涂覆在包络28的内表面29的顶部。由LED芯片22发射的紫外/蓝光与由层36发射的光混合,并且混合的光透射出去。当然,磷光体材料可以位于任何两个或所有三个位置(如图2至图4所示)或任何其他合适的位置,例如,与包络28分开或集成到LED芯片22中。
在任何或所有上述配置中,分别在图2、图3或图4中示出的照明设备100、200或300还可以包括嵌入在封装材料32中的多个散射颗粒(未示出)。散射颗粒可以包括例如氧化铝、二氧化硅、氧化锆或二氧化钛。散射颗粒有效地散射从LED芯片22发射的定向光,优选具有可忽略的吸收量。
一些实施方式涉及如图5所示的背光设备50。背光设备50包括用于背光或显示应用的表面贴装装置(SMD)型发光二极管。该SMD是“侧面发射型”,并且在光导构件54的突出部分上具有发光窗口52。SMD可以包括如上所述的LED芯片以及包括如本文所述的发绿光的磷光体的磷光体材料。在一些实施方式中,SMD可以包括如上所述的LED芯片以及磷光体材料,该磷光体材料包括如本文所述的化学式I的发绿光的磷光体和发红光的掺杂Mn4+的磷光体。
除了发绿光的磷光体和可选的发红光的化学式I的掺杂Mn4+的磷光体之外,磷光体材料还可以包括一种或多种其它发光材料。额外发光材料(例如,蓝色、黄色、红色、橙色或其他颜色的磷光体)可以用于磷光体材料中,以定制所得光的白色并产生特定的光谱功率分布。

Na(UO2)OCl,
Rb(UO2)OCl,或其组合。
7.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中,所述发绿光的磷光体包括SrZnP2O7:U。
8.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中,所述磷光体材料另外包括化学式I的磷光体

其中,
A是Li、Na、K、Rb、Cs,或其组合;
M是Si、Ge、Sn、Ti、Zr、Al、Ga、In、Sc、Hf、Y、La、Nb、Ta、Bi、Gd,或其组合;
x是MFy离子电荷的绝对值;并且
y是5、6或7。
