Detailed Description
In order to make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present invention clearer, the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings of the embodiments of the present invention. It is to be understood that the embodiments described are only a few embodiments of the present invention, and not all embodiments. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the described embodiments of the invention, are within the scope of the invention.
Please refer to fig. 1, which is a schematic diagram illustrating a mechanism of generating an afterimage according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 1, when the liquid crystal display uses television signals of I-type (interlaced signals) and weak signals, positive and negative levels of a line a or B cannot be cancelled out between multiple frames, the line a has +127 level accumulation, and the line B has-127 level accumulation, so that after playing for a certain time, pixels in the display panel are in a condition of asymmetric positive and negative polarities, and the pixels are driven by bias voltages to generate residual images.
Please refer to fig. 2, which is a diagram illustrating a conventional polarity inversion according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 2, in order to improve the above problem, normally, after a certain time, a signal with a normal polarity inversion is converted into a polarity inversion signal opposite to the normal polarity inversion signal, for example, the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels of the first row of the (N-1) th frame are sequentially negative, positive, negative and positive, the polarity of the driving voltage of the sub-pixels of the first row in the nth frame should be positive, negative, however, after the inversion according to the above scheme, the polarity of the driving voltage of the sub-pixels of the first row in the nth frame is actually negative, positive, the voltage bias applied to the liquid crystal will thus be correspondingly inverted, by constantly inverting the polarity, therefore, the voltage bias loaded on the liquid crystal in one time is still zero, the bias voltage accumulation of the liquid crystal is prevented, and the generation of residual images is finally avoided.
Please refer to fig. 3, which is a diagram illustrating a mechanism of flicker generation according to an embodiment of the present invention. In practical applications, although the introduction of the polarity inversion signal better solves the problem of image retention of the liquid crystal display panel, a new problem, namely a flicker phenomenon, is generated at the same time. As shown in fig. 3, taking the row a sub-pixels as an example, in the previous frame with inverted polarity, i.e. N +3 frame, the driving voltage of the row a corresponding sub-pixels is +127, and in the frame with inverted polarity, i.e. N +4 frame, the driving voltage of the row a corresponding sub-pixels is still +127, i.e. the polarities of the two are the same, therefore, the row a corresponding sub-pixels in the fourth frame will continue to be charged in the positive direction based on the driving voltage in the positive direction, which results in the voltage of the sub-pixels in the fourth frame being higher than the normal voltage, as circled in fig. 3, and the subsequent frame after the frame will return to the normal voltage, which results in higher brightness of the frame than other frames, i.e. the display screen generates the flicker phenomenon.
Referring to fig. 4, a voltage waveform diagram under a conventional scheme according to an embodiment of the invention is shown. As shown in fig. 4, in the conventional polarity inversion scheme, the voltage difference between the highest point a (9.74mV) and the lowest point B (-18.06mV) of the voltage is 27.8mV, and the voltage has a positive correlation with the brightness, which indicates that the flicker phenomenon is more noticeable when inverted.
Therefore, please refer to fig. 5, which is a flowchart illustrating a polarity inversion method of a liquid crystal display according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 5, the method for inverting the polarity of the liquid crystal display according to the embodiment of the present invention may include the following steps:
step 51: and driving and displaying the liquid crystal display by taking m continuous frames as a period, wherein in one period, the polarity arrangement mode of the first m-2 frames is the same, the polarity of the driving voltage of the same sub-pixel of the two adjacent frames in the first m-2 frames is opposite, the polarity arrangement mode of the first m-2 frames is different from that of the rest 2 frames, the polarity arrangement mode of the rest 2 frames is the same, and the polarity of the driving voltage of the same sub-pixel of the rest 2 frames is opposite, wherein m is a positive integer larger than 2.
In the embodiment of the application, the charging voltage of the pixels in each frame is controlled by setting the polarity arrangement mode of the pixels in each frame, so that the bias voltage of the liquid crystal in a certain time is zero, and finally, the residual image is eliminated and the flicker phenomenon is avoided.
In the embodiment of the application, in the display process of the liquid crystal display, the liquid crystal display is driven and displayed by m frames in each period. In one period, the polarity arrangement of the first m-2 frames is the same, and the polarities of the driving voltages of the same sub-pixels of two adjacent frames in the first m-2 frames are opposite, and the polarity arrangement of each frame in the first m-2 frames is as follows: the polarities of the driving voltages of two adjacent sub-pixels in the same row and the same column are opposite.
Fig. 6 is a schematic diagram of a polarity arrangement of the polarity inversion method according to an embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 6, the m-2 th frame, the m-1 th frame, and the m +1 th frame are enumerated in the figure, where the m-2 th frame, the m-1 th frame, and the m +1 th frame belong to a same period, and the m +1 th frame is the first frame of the next period, and in one period, the polarity arrangement modes of the first m-2 frames are all the same, that is, the polarity arrangement mode is: in one frame, the polarities of the driving voltages of two adjacent sub-pixels in the same row are opposite, and the polarities of the driving voltages of two adjacent sub-pixels in the same column are also opposite. For example, the polarity of the driving voltage of the first sub-pixel in the first row of the m-2 th frame in the figure is the first polarity, the polarity arrangement of the driving voltage of the sub-pixel in the first row is the first polarity, the second polarity, and the polarity arrangement of the driving voltage of the sub-pixel in the first column is the first polarity, the second polarity, the first polarity, the second polarity; in the first m-2 frame, the polarities of the driving voltages of the same sub-pixels in the two adjacent frames are opposite, for example, the polarity arrangement of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the first row of the m-3 frame (i.e., the frame before the m-2 frame in fig. 6) should be: the second polarity, the first polarity, and the polarity arrangement of the driving voltage of the sub-pixels in the first column of the m-3 th frame should be: the second polarity, the first polarity, the second polarity, and the first polarity define that the polarities of the driving voltages of two adjacent sub-pixels in the same row in the same frame are opposite, so the polarities of the driving voltages of the other sub-pixels can be obtained correspondingly. In the embodiment of the present application, specifically, the first polarity may correspond to negative, and the second polarity may correspond to positive, and of course, the first polarity may correspond to positive, and the second polarity may correspond to negative, where the first polarity is set to negative and the second polarity is set to positive in fig. 6.
In the embodiment of the present application, in the remaining 2 frames, the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the odd-numbered row of each frame are the same, and the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the even-numbered row of each frame are the same. More specifically, in the remaining 2 frames, the polarity arrangement of each frame is: repeating the process with 8 columns of sub-pixels as a period, (generally, the number of sub-pixels in a frame is much larger than 8), the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the first column, the fourth column and the seventh column of each frame (or every 8 columns of sub-pixels in each frame) are the same, the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the third, fifth and eighth columns are the same, the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the second column are all of the same polarity, the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the sixth column are all of the same polarity, the polarity of the driving voltage of the sub-pixel of the first column is opposite to the polarity of the driving voltage of the sub-pixel of the third column, the polarity of the driving voltage of the sub-pixel of the second column is opposite to the polarity of the driving voltage of the sub-pixel of the sixth column, the polarity of the driving voltage of the adjacent sub-pixel of the first column is opposite, and the polarity of the driving voltage of the adjacent sub-pixel of the third column is also opposite; in the remaining 2 frames, the polarity of the driving voltage of the first sub-pixel of the first row of one frame adjacent to the m-2 th frame is the same as the polarity of the driving voltage of the first sub-pixel of the first row of the m-2 th frame.
In this embodiment of the application, the polarity of the driving voltage of the first sub-pixel in the first row of the m-2 th frame is the first polarity, and in the remaining 2 frames, the polarity arrangement manner of the frame adjacent to the m-2 th frame may be: the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the odd-numbered rows are periodically arranged according to a rule of a first polarity, a second polarity, a first polarity, and a second polarity, and the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the even-numbered rows are periodically arranged according to a rule of a second polarity, a first polarity, a second polarity, and a first polarity, wherein the first polarity and the second polarity are two opposite polarities; since the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the odd-numbered row are the same and the polarities of the driving voltages of the sub-pixels in the even-numbered row are also the same, it is considered that the driving voltages are repeated in a cycle of 2 rows and 8 columns in the remaining 2 frames. 6.
Fig. 7 is a voltage waveform diagram of the polarity inversion method according to the embodiment of the present invention. As shown in fig. 7, after the polarity inversion method in the embodiment of the present invention was applied, the voltage difference between the highest point a '(9.87 mV) and the lowest point B' (9.05 mV) of the voltage was 18.92mV, which was reduced by about 9mV from the voltage difference (27.8mV) in the conventional scheme, indicating that the brightness of the inverted frame was effectively controlled at the time of inversion and the flicker phenomenon was effectively improved.
