Abstract
本发明公开了一种降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法,具体包括以下步骤:S1、将传统设计中列驱动通道的控制信号转变为与显示数据相关的控制数据,控制数据的传输方式与显示数据一致,经由数据移位模块和数据锁存模块,各自独立发送到n个列驱动通道,实现每个列驱动通道的独立控制;S2、将显示底色的相关列驱动通道关闭并统一赋予底色灰阶对应的电位,本发明涉及AMOLED显示技术领域。该降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法,降低了AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的效果显著;相比传统技术,增加的电路开销很小,仅需要扩展列驱动电路的数位宽度以及时序控制模块中额外的行缓存单元与逻辑运算单元。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及AMOLED显示技术领域,具体为一种降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法。
背景技术
AMOLED全称是Active Matrix/Organic Light Emitting Diode,可翻译为是有源矩阵有机发光二极体面板,AMOLED被称为下一代显示技术,包括三星电子、三星SDI、LG、飞利浦都比较重视这项新的显示技术,从技术发展来看,α-Si(非晶硅)、LTPS(低温多晶硅)、Oxide(氧化物半导体)TFT-LCD、AMOLED及柔性显示等平板显示技术的基础技术均为半导体技术,业内统称为半导体显示技术,AMOLED与多数手机使用的传统液晶显示器相比,具有更宽的视角、更高的刷新率和更薄的尺寸,因此正在得到智能手机采用。
列驱动电路的功耗主要由列驱动通道静态功耗和列驱动通道动态功耗两部分构成,其中,列驱动通道静态功耗正比于开启的通道数,传统设计中开启的通道数与当前显示的数据无关,仅事先取决于显示分辨率,列驱动的动态功耗正比于面板的容性负载与前后数据的变化量,例如第一笔显示数据使列驱动通道将面板像素充电至V1,第二笔显示数据使列驱动通道将面板像素充电至V2,由第一笔显示数据向第二笔显示数据转换的过程中近似消耗了(V2-V1)VDDC的能量,其中VDD为列驱动通道电源电压值,C为面板负载电容值,使用预充电技术可以降低列驱动通道的动态功耗,其原理为:假设引入另外电源VPRE,满足V1<VPRE<V2,先将V1充电至VPRE,然后由VPRE充电至V2,其过程消耗的能量近似为(VPRE-V1)VPREC+(V2-VPRE)VDDC,节省能量近似为(VPRE-V1)(VDD-VPRE)C,传统设计中预充电操作与当前显示的数据无关,其降低列驱动通道的动态功耗的适用范围极其有限。
发明内容
(一)解决的技术问题
针对现有技术的不足,本发明提供了一种降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法,解决了传统设计中开启的通道数与当前显示的数据无关和预充电控制信号对所有列驱动通道整体控制,适用范围和省电效果差的问题。
(二)技术方案
为实现以上目的,本发明通过以下技术方案予以实现:一种降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法,具体包括以下步骤:
S1、将传统设计中列驱动通道的控制信号转变为与显示数据相关的控制数据,控制数据的传输方式与显示数据一致,经由数据移位模块和数据锁存模块,各自独立发送到n个列驱动通道,实现每个列驱动通道的独立控制;
S2、将显示底色的相关列驱动通道关闭并统一赋予底色灰阶对应的电位,降低其静态功耗;
S3、列驱动通道预充电控制数据针对不同的通道实施不同的预充电控制。
优选的,所述步骤S1中显示数据相关的控制数据包含列驱动通道开启数控制数据以及列驱动通道预充电控制数据。
优选的,所述步骤S2中显示画面的底色为最低显示灰阶,在AOD(Always onDisplay)模式下显示底色的区域占全部显示画面的比例很高,达到70%甚至85%。
优选的,所述步骤S2中显示数据位宽为8,则最高显示灰阶为255,最低显示灰阶为0,时序控制模块根据第i行的显示数据判断显示灰阶0的列驱动通道,并将其在第i行显示时关闭,通道开启控制数据的数位宽度为1,列驱动通道中包含m个子通道时,通道开启控制数据的数位宽度为多位,实现对各个子通道的独立控制。
优选的,所述步骤S3中显示数据位宽为8,则最高显示灰阶为255,最低显示灰阶为0,时序控制模块根据第i-1行和第i行的显示数据判断该通道充电前电压V1和该通道充电后电压V2,预充电电压VPRE在V1和V2之间,则开启列驱动通道预充电降低动态消耗能量,也即设定预充电判定阈值数据DTH对应预充电电压值,满足DTH在D1和D2之间,则在第i行该通道开启预充电功能,其中D1和D2分别为该通道的第i-1行和第i行的显示数据,列驱动通道预充电控制数据的数位宽度为1,预充电判定阈值为单一阈值100,列驱动通道中包含m个子通道时,通道预充电控制数据的数位宽度为多位,实现对各个子通道的独立控制。
(三)有益效果
本发明提供了一种降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法。具备以下有益效果:该降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法,通过S1、将传统设计中列驱动通道的控制信号转变为与显示数据相关的控制数据,控制数据的传输方式与显示数据一致,经由数据移位模块和数据锁存模块,各自独立发送到n个列驱动通道,实现每个列驱动通道的独立控制;S2、将显示底色的相关列驱动通道关闭并统一赋予底色灰阶对应的电位,降低其静态功耗;S3、列驱动通道预充电控制数据针对不同的通道实施不同的预充电控制,列驱动通道的开启与关闭与其显示数据相关,列驱动电路静态功耗控制具有自适应性和灵活性;降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的效果显著,特别在AOD(Always onDisplay)模式下尤为突出;相比传统技术,增加的电路开销很小,仅需要扩展列驱动电路的数位宽度以及时序控制模块中额外的行缓存单元与逻辑运算单元。

下面将结合本发明实施例中的附图,对本发明实施例中的技术方案进行清楚、完整地描述,显然,所描述的实施例仅仅是本发明一部分实施例,而不是全部的实施例。基于本发明中的实施例,本领域普通技术人员在没有做出创造性劳动前提下所获得的所有其他实施例,都属于本发明保护的范围。
请参阅图1-3,本发明实施例提供一种技术方案:一种降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法,降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的效果显著,特别在AOD(Always on Display)模式下尤为突出;相比传统技术,增加的电路开销很小,仅需要扩展列驱动电路的数位宽度以及时序控制模块中额外的行缓存单元与逻辑运算单元,具体包括以下步骤:
S1、将传统设计中列驱动通道的控制信号转变为与显示数据相关的控制数据,控制数据的传输方式与显示数据一致,经由数据移位模块和数据锁存模块,各自独立发送到n个列驱动通道,实现每个列驱动通道的独立控制;
S2、将显示底色的相关列驱动通道关闭并统一赋予底色灰阶对应的电位,降低其静态功耗;
S3、列驱动通道预充电控制数据针对不同的通道实施不同的预充电控制。
本发明中,步骤S1中显示数据相关的控制数据包含列驱动通道开启数控制数据以及列驱动通道预充电控制数据。
本发明中,步骤S2中显示画面的底色为最低显示灰阶,在AOD(Always onDisplay)模式下显示底色的区域占全部显示画面的比例很高,达到70%甚至85%。
本发明中,步骤S2中显示数据位宽为8,则最高显示灰阶为255,最低显示灰阶为0,时序控制模块根据第i行的显示数据判断显示灰阶0的列驱动通道,并将其在第i行显示时关闭,通道开启控制数据的数位宽度为1,列驱动通道中包含m个子通道或者分时复用作为m个子通道时,通道开启控制数据的数位宽度为多位,实现对各个子通道的独立控制,亦可使用数位宽度为p(p<m)的通道开启控制数据,比如1位,对子通道显示数据做逻辑与得到通道开启控制数据。
本发明中,步骤S3中显示数据位宽为8,则最高显示灰阶为255,最低显示灰阶为0,时序控制模块根据第i-1行和第i行的显示数据判断该通道充电前电压V1和该通道充电后电压V2,预充电电压VPRE在V1和V2之间,则开启列驱动通道预充电降低动态消耗能量,也即设定预充电判定阈值数据DTH对应预充电电压值,满足DTH在D1和D2之间,则在第i行该通道开启预充电功能,其中D1和D2分别为该通道的第i-1行和第i行的显示数据,列驱动通道预充电控制数据的数位宽度为1,预充电判定阈值为单一阈值100,列驱动通道中包含m个子通道时或者分时复用作为m个子通道时,通道预充电控制数据的数位宽度为多位,实现对各个子通道的独立控制,亦可使用数位宽度为p(p<m)的通道控制数据,比如1位,对子通道显示数据做加权得到通道预充电控制数据,另外预充电判定阈值亦可为多阈值,或通过复杂算法实现更加细致的列驱动通道动态功耗控制。

Claims (1)
1.一种降低AMOLED显示驱动芯片列驱动电路功耗的方法,具体包括以下步骤:
S1、将传统设计中列驱动通道的控制信号转变为与显示数据相关的控制数据,控制数据的传输方式与显示数据一致,经由数据移位模块和数据锁存模块,各自独立发送到n个列驱动通道,实现每个列驱动通道的独立控制;
S2、将显示底色的相关列驱动通道关闭并统一赋予底色灰阶对应的电位,降低其静态功耗;
S3、列驱动通道预充电控制数据针对不同的通道实施不同的预充电控制;
所述步骤S1中显示数据相关的控制数据包含列驱动通道开启数控制数据以及列驱动通道预充电控制数据;
所述步骤S2中显示画面的底色为最低显示灰阶,在AOD模式下显示底色的区域占全部显示画面的比例达到85%;
所述步骤S2中显示数据位宽为8,则最高显示灰阶为255,最低显示灰阶为0,时序控制模块根据第i行的显示数据判断显示灰阶0的列驱动通道,并将其在第i行显示时关闭,通道开启控制数据的数位宽度为1,列驱动通道中包含m个子通道,通道开启控制数据的数位宽度为多位,实现对各个子通道的独立控制;
