Background
Maneuverability is one of the very important properties of a ship, and in relation to operational safety of the ship, accurate performance prediction can reduce the risk of ship maneuvering. In the development stage of the ship, due to the change of the ship shape, the increase of the gravity center of the ship and the high navigational speed, the traditional three-degree-of-freedom maneuvering motion mathematical model including surging, swaying and shaking heads cannot meet the requirement of maneuvering prediction, and the establishment of the four-degree-of-freedom mathematical model including the maneuvering motion in heeling and the measurement of all hydrodynamic derivatives are the key for accurately predicting the maneuverability of the ship. In the model test, a constraint model test method is generally adopted to obtain the ship maneuverability hydrodynamic derivative.
