在根据本公开的选通驱动器中,开关元件可以实现为n型或p型金属氧化物半导体场效应晶体管(MOSFET)结构的晶体管。本公开的实施方式描述了p型晶体管作为示例,但不限于此。晶体管是包括栅极、源极和漏极的三电极元件。源极是用于向晶体管提供载流子的电极。晶体管内的载流子开始从源极流出。漏极是允许晶体管内的载流子离开到外部的电极。即,MOSFET中的载流子从源极流向漏极。在n型MOSFET(NMOS)的情况下,因为载流子是电子,所以源极电压小于漏极电压,使得电子可以从源极流到漏极。在n型MOSFET中,因为电子从源极流到漏极,所以电流从漏极流到源极。在p型MOSFET(PMOS)的情况下,因为载流子是空穴,所以源极电压大于漏极电压,使得空穴可以从源极流到漏极。在p型MOSFET中,因为空穴从源极流到漏极,所以电流从源极流到漏极。应当注意,MOSFET的源极和漏极不是固定的。例如,MOSFET的源极和漏极可以根据所施加的电压而改变。因此,本公开的实施方式不应由于晶体管的源极和漏极而受到限制。
图1示出了根据本公开的有机发光二极管(OLED)显示器。
参照图1,根据本公开的OLED显示器包括显示面板100、数据驱动器300、选通驱动器400和500以及定时控制器200。
多条数据线DL1至DL(m)和多条选通线GL1至GL(n)设置在显示面板100的显示区AA中,并且用于图像显示的像素P设置在这些线的交叉点处。
选通线GL1至GL(n)中的每一个可以包括扫描线、发光线等,并且可以根据像素P的实现示例而改变。
定时控制器200基于从主机100提供的定时信号(诸如垂直同步信号Vsync、水平同步信号Hsync和数据使能信号DE)来生成数据控制信号和选通控制信号。数据控制信号控制数据驱动器300的操作定时,选通控制信号控制选通驱动器400和500的操作定时。
数据驱动器300基于从定时控制器200提供的数据控制信号和图像数据DATA生成数据电压,并将数据电压提供给数据线DL。
选通驱动器400和500包括电平移位器400和移位寄存器500。电平移位器400基于从定时控制器200提供的选通控制信号生成选通时钟GCLK。移位寄存器500基于由电平移位器400输出的选通时钟GCLK生成选通信号,并将该选通信号输出到选通线GL。为此,移位寄存器500包括彼此级联连接的移位寄存器。移位寄存器500可以根据面板内选通(GIP)方法直接形成在显示面板100的非显示区NAA上。
图2示出了根据第一实施方式的移位寄存器。图3示出了根据第一实施方式的像素结构。
参照图2和图3,根据第一实施方式的移位寄存器500包括发光信号发生器510和扫描信号发生器520。发光信号发生器510的第一至第n发光驱动器EMD1至EMD(n)彼此级联连接,并且扫描信号发生器520的第一至第n扫描驱动器SD1至SD(n)彼此级联连接。
发光信号发生器510包括第一到第n发光驱动器EMD1到EMD(n)。第一发光驱动器EMD1生成发光信号EM1,并将发光信号EM1施加到第一像素线HL1的第一发光控制晶体管T4和第二像素线HL2的第二发光控制晶体管T3。第n发光驱动器EMD(n)生成发光信号EM(n)并将发光信号EM(n)施加到第n像素线HL(n)的第一发光控制晶体管T4。
扫描信号发生器520包括第一至第n扫描驱动器SD1至SD(n)。第一扫描驱动器SD1生成第一扫描信号SCAN1,并将第一扫描信号SCAN1施加到第一像素线HL1的扫描晶体管T2以及第二像素线HL2的第一晶体管T1和第五晶体管T5。第n扫描驱动器SD(n)生成第n扫描信号SCAN(n),并将第n扫描信号SCAN(n)施加到第n像素线HL(n)的扫描晶体管T2。
参照图3,设置在第n像素线上的像素的详细配置描述如下。
根据第一实施方式的像素包括有机发光二极管OLED、驱动晶体管DT、第一晶体管T1、扫描晶体管(以下称为第二晶体管)T2、第一发光控制晶体管(以下称为第四晶体管)T4、第二发光控制晶体管(以下称为第三晶体管)T3、初始化控制晶体管(以下称为第五晶体管)T5和存储电容器Cst。
有机发光二极管OLED通过从驱动晶体管DT提供的驱动电流而发光。有机发光二极管OLED的阳极连接到第四节点N4,并且其阴极连接到低电位驱动电压VSS的输入端。
驱动晶体管DT根据驱动晶体管DT的源极-栅极电压Vsg控制施加到有机发光二极管OLED的驱动电流。驱动晶体管DT的栅极连接到第一节点N1,驱动晶体管DT的源极连接到第三节点N3,驱动晶体管DT的漏极连接到第二节点N2。
第一晶体管T1包括连接到第(n-1)扫描线SL(n-1)的栅极、连接到第一节点N1的漏极和连接到第二节点N2的源极。第一晶体管T1响应于第(n-1)扫描信号SCAN(n-1)将第一节点N1以二极管形式连接到第二节点N2。
第二晶体管T2包括连接到第n扫描线SL(n)的栅极、连接到数据线DL的源极和连接到第三节点N3的漏极。第二晶体管T2响应于第n扫描信号SCAN(n)将来自数据线DL的数据电压Vdata写入第三节点N3。
第三晶体管T3包括连接到第(n-1)发光线EML(n-1)的栅极、连接到高电位驱动电压VDD的输入端的源极、以及连接到第三节点N3的漏极。第三晶体管T3响应于第(n-1)发光信号EM(n-1)向第三节点N3提供高电位驱动电压VDD。
第四晶体管T4包括连接到第n发光线EML(n)的栅极、连接到第三节点N3的源极和连接到第四节点N4的漏极。第四晶体管T4响应于第n发光信号EM(n)将第三节点N3连接到第四节点N4。
第五晶体管T5包括连接到第(n-1)扫描信号SCAN(n-1)的栅极、连接到第四节点N4的源极和连接到初始化电压Vinit的输入端的漏极。第五晶体管T5响应于第(n-1)扫描信号SCAN(n-1)将初始化电压Vinit写入第四节点N4。
存储电容器Cst连接在第一节点N1和高电位驱动电压VDD的输入端之间。
图4示出了根据第一实施方式的驱动信号的定时。图5至图7示出了根据驱动定时的像素操作。
参照图4和图5,在初始化时段Di中,施加第(n-1)扫描信号SCAN(n-1)和第n发光信号EM(n)作为导通电压,并且施加第n扫描信号SCAN(n)和第(n-1)发光信号EM(n-1)作为断开电压。
结果,第一晶体管T1、第四晶体管T4和第五晶体管T5导通,并且第一节点N1被初始化为初始化电压Vinit。
参照图4和图6,在采样时段Ds中,施加第n扫描信号SCAN(n)和第(n-1)扫描信号SCAN(n-1)作为导通电压,并且施加第(n-1)发光信号EM(n-1)和第n发光信号EM(n)作为断开电压。
第二晶体管T2响应于第n扫描信号SCAN(n)将来自数据线DL的数据电压Vdata写入第三节点N3。第一晶体管T1响应于第(n-1)扫描信号SCAN(n-1)而导通,以将第一节点N1以二极管形式连接到第二节点N2。
在采样时段Ds中,第四晶体管T4被断开,因此第二节点N2变为浮置状态。第二节点N2的电压由于从第三节点N3流向第二节点N2的电流而增加,因此第一节点N1的电压也增加。随着第一节点N1的电压增大,驱动晶体管DT的源极-栅极电压Vsg减小。在采样时段Ds中,从第三节点N3流到第二节点N2的电流流动,直到驱动晶体管DT的Vsg与驱动晶体管DT的阈值电压Vth相同。即,在采样时段Ds中,通过从写入到第三节点N3的数据电压Vdata中减去阈值电压Vth的绝对值,使第一节点N1的电压和第二节点N2的电压饱和到值(Vdata-|Vth)。
在采样时段Ds之后,可以将用于提高驱动可靠性的保持时段Dh保持达预定的时间段。
参照图4和图7,在发光时段De中,施加第n发光信号EM(n)和第(n-1)发光信号EM(n-1)作为导通电压,并且施加第n扫描信号SCAN(n)和第(n-1)扫描信号SCAN(n-1)作为断开电压。
第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4导通,并且从高电位驱动电压VDD的输入端经由驱动晶体管DT的驱动电流Ioled进入有机发光二极管OLED的阳极。
在这种情况下,驱动晶体管DT的源节点N3的电压对应于高电位驱动电压VDD,并且驱动晶体管DT的栅节点N1的电压对应于“Vdata-|Vth”。因此,在有机发光二极管OLED中流动的驱动电流Ioled的关系等式如以下等式1。

在等式1中,k/2表示由驱动晶体管DT的电子迁移率、寄生电容和沟道电容等确定的比例常数。从等式1可以看出,在驱动电流Ioled的关系等式中,消除了驱动晶体管DT的阈值电压Vth的分量。因此,去除了阈值电压Vth的变化对驱动晶体管DT的影响。
根据本公开的显示设备在采样时段Ds中将数据电压Vdata直接写入到与驱动晶体管DT的源极对应的第三节点N3。
相反,图8示出了根据比较示例的像素结构。如图8所示,根据比较示例的像素包括连接到驱动晶体管DT的栅极的电容器Cst。像素使用补偿电路CC将从数据线DL提供的数据电压Vdata写入电容器Cst。写入有数据电压Vdata的电容器Cst可以与形成在像素中的各种寄生电容产生耦合现象。因此,在比较示例中,写入电容器Cst的数据电压Vdata的幅度是不稳定的,因此有机发光二极管OLED的发光亮度可能变化。
另一方面,根据本公开的OLED显示器可以防止由于与寄生电容的耦合现象而发生亮度变化,因为OLED显示器将数据电压Vdata直接写入驱动晶体管DT的源极。
根据第一实施方式的OLED显示器可以稳定第一节点N1的初始化操作,因为OLED显示器单独地控制第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4。如果第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4由同一发光信号EM(n)控制,则高电位驱动电压VDD的输入端和第三节点N3在初始化时段Di中电连接。因此,高电位驱动电压VDD被施加到第三节点N3,结果,写入到第一节点N1的初始化电压Vinit可能不稳定。
然而,在第一实施方式中,因为第三晶体管T3可以在初始化时段Di中断开,所以初始化电压Vinit可以稳定地写入到第一节点N1。
在根据本公开的OLED显示器中,第一晶体管T1在采样时段中用于二极管连接。此外,本公开使用如此形成的第一晶体管T1将初始化电压Vinit写入驱动晶体管DT的栅极。
现有的内部补偿电路包括用于将初始化电压Vinit直接写入驱动晶体管DT的栅极的晶体管。即,现有技术可以包括直接连接到驱动晶体管DT的栅极的两个或更多个晶体管。随着连接到驱动晶体管DT的栅极的晶体管的数量增加,来自驱动晶体管DT的栅极的泄露电流增加。在现有技术中,驱动晶体管DT的源极-栅极电压Vsg的幅度变化,因此可能影响发光亮度。
另一方面,根据本公开的OLED显示器可以减少驱动晶体管DT的泄露电流,因为OLED显示器不包括用于将初始化电压Vinit直接写入驱动晶体管DT的栅极的晶体管。
图9示出了根据第二实施方式的移位寄存器。
参照图9,根据第二实施方式的移位寄存器500包括发光信号发生器510和扫描信号发生器520。发光信号发生器510的第一至第n发光驱动器EMD1至EMD(n)彼此级联连接,并且扫描信号发生器520的第一至第n扫描驱动器SD1至SD(n)彼此级联连接。
发光信号发生器510包括第一至第n发光驱动器EMD1到EMD(n)。第一发光驱动器EMD1生成发光信号EM1并将发光信号EM1施加到第一像素线HL1的第四晶体管T4和第三晶体管T3。第n发光驱动器EMD(n)生成发光信号EM(n)并将发光信号EM(n)施加到第n像素线HL(n)的第四晶体管T4和第三晶体管T3。
扫描信号发生器520包括第一至第n扫描驱动器SD1至SD(n)。第一扫描驱动器SD1生成第一扫描信号SCAN1,并将第一扫描信号SCAN1施加到第一像素线HL1的第二晶体管T2以及第二像素线HL2的第一晶体管T1和第五晶体管T5。第n扫描驱动器SD(n)生成第n扫描信号SCAN(n),并将第n扫描信号SCAN(n)施加到第n像素线HL(n)的第二晶体管T2。
图10示出了根据第二实施方式的像素结构。更具体地,图10示出了使用图9所示的移位寄存器的选通信号的像素,并且具体地,示出了设置在第n像素线HL(n)上的像素。
参照图10,根据第二实施方式的像素包括有机发光二极管OLED、驱动晶体管DT、第一至第五晶体管T1至T5以及存储电容器Cst。省略掉图10中所示的与第一实施方式中的配置和组件的详细描述基本相同的那些详细描述。
第三晶体管T3包括连接到第n发光线EML(n)的栅极、连接到高电位驱动电压VDD的输入端的源极、以及连接到第三节点N3的漏极。第三晶体管T3响应于第n发光线EML(n)向第三节点N3提供高电位驱动电压VDD。
第四晶体管T4包括连接到第n发光线EML(n)的栅极、连接到第三节点N3的源极和连接到第四节点N4的漏极。第四晶体管T4响应于第n发光线EML(n)将第三节点N3连接到第四节点N4。
即,在根据第二实施方式的像素结构中,第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4由同一第n发光线EML(n)控制。
如图9所示,第二实施方式被配置为使得第一发光驱动器EMD1控制设置在一条像素线上的第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4的操作。因此,与第一实施方式相比,第二实施方式可以进一步简化显示面板100的阵列结构。
在第二实施方式中,由第一到第n发光驱动器EMD1到EMD(n)中的每一个输出的发光信号的定时可以与第一实施方式中的相同。结果,第二实施方式中的第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4的导通定时与第一实施方式中的第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4的导通定时相同。因此,第二实施方式可以以与如图4所示的第一实施方式相同的定时进行操作。
图11示出了根据第三实施方式的移位寄存器。
参照图11,根据第三实施方式的移位寄存器500包括发光信号发生器510和扫描信号发生器520。
发光信号发生器510的第一至第n发光驱动器EMD1至EMD(n)彼此级联连接。第一发光驱动器EMD1生成发光信号EM1,并将发光信号EM1施加到第一像素线HL1的第四晶体管T4和第二像素线HL2的第三晶体管T3。第n发光驱动器EMD(n)生成发光信号EM(n)并将发光信号EM(n)施加到第n像素线HL(n)的第四晶体管T4。
扫描信号发生器520包括SCAN1发生器和SCAN2发生器。SCAN1发生器包括彼此级联连接的第一至第n SCAN1驱动器SD1(1)至SD1(n),并且SCAN2发生器包括彼此级联连接的第一至第nSCAN2驱动器SD2(1)至SD2(n)。
第一SCAN1驱动器SD1(1)生成第一SCAN1信号SCAN1(1),并将第一SCAN1信号SCAN1(1)施加到第一像素线HL1的第二晶体管T2。第n SCAN1驱动器SD1(n)生成第n SCAN1信号SCAN1(n),并将第n SCAN1信号SCAN1(n)施加到第n像素线HL(n)的第二晶体管T2。
第一SCAN2驱动器SD2(1)生成第一SCAN2信号SCAN2(1),并将第一SCAN2信号SCAN2(1)施加到第一像素线HL1的第一晶体管T1和第五晶体管T5。第n SCAN2驱动器SD2(n)生成第n SCAN2信号SCAN2(n),并将第n SCAN2信号SCAN2(n)施加到第n像素线HL(n)的第一晶体管T1。
图12示出了根据第三实施方式的像素结构。更具体地,图12示出了使用由图11所示的移位寄存器输出的选通信号的像素,并且具体地,示出了设置在第n像素线HL(n)上的像素。

参照图12和图13,在初始化时段Di中,第一晶体管T1、第四晶体管T4和第五晶体管T5导通,并且第一节点N1被初始化为初始化电压Vinit。
在采样时段Ds中,第二晶体管T2导通,并且来自数据线DL的数据电压Vdata被写入第三节点N3。第一晶体管T1导通以将第一节点N1以二极管形式连接到第二节点N2。在采样时段Ds期间,通过从写入到第三节点N3的数据电压Vdata中减去阈值电压Vth的绝对值,使第一节点N1的电压和第二节点N2的电压饱和到值(Vdata-|Vth|)。
在采样时段Ds之后,可以将用于提高驱动可靠性的保持时段Dh保持达预定的时间段。在第三实施方式中,第二晶体管T2在保持时段Dh期间变为断开状态。因此,在第三实施方式中,第一至第五晶体管T1至T5在保持时段Dh期间全部保持在断开状态。因此,与第一实施方式和第二实施方式相比,第三实施方式进一步提高了驱动可靠性。
在发光时段De中,第三晶体管T3和第四晶体管T4导通,并且来自高电位驱动电压VDD的输入端的驱动电流经由驱动晶体管DT进入有机发光二极管OLED的阳极。有机发光二极管OLED以与驱动电流成比例的亮度发光。
图13所示的第n SCAN1信号SCAN1(n)对应于施加到图3所示的像素结构中的第二晶体管T2的扫描信号的定时的改变。此外,图13所示的第n SCAN1信号SCAN1(n)可以被施加到图10所示的像素结构。即,实施方式可以被实现为使得图13所示的第n SCAN1信号SCAN1(n)被施加到图10所示的第二晶体管T2,并且图13所示的第n SCAN2信号SCAN2(n)被施加到图10所示的第一晶体管T1和第五晶体管T5。
已经集中于发光信号EM(n)的高电平时段是三个水平时段3H的示例来描述本公开的实施方式。此外,在各个实施方式中,如图14所示,发光信号EM(n)可以在两个水平时段2H期间保持高电平时段,并且将保持时段Dh设置为两个水平时段2H。
如上所述,根据本公开的OLED显示器构成使用相对较少数量的晶体管的内部补偿电路,因此可以简化像素结构并增加开口率。
根据本公开的OLED显示器可以通过将数据电压写入驱动晶体管的源极来防止由寄生电容导致的采样操作不稳定。

Claims (11)

1.一种用于有机发光二极管OLED显示器的像素,所述像素包括:
OLED;
驱动晶体管,所述驱动晶体管包括连接到第一节点的栅极、连接到第二节点的漏极和连接到第三节点的源极;
第一晶体管,所述第一晶体管连接在所述第一节点和所述第二节点之间;
扫描晶体管,所述扫描晶体管连接在所述第三节点和数据线之间;
第一发光控制晶体管,所述第一发光控制晶体管连接在所述第二节点和所述OLED的阳极之间;以及
初始化控制晶体管,所述初始化控制晶体管连接在初始化电压的输入端和所述OLED的所述阳极之间。
2.根据权利要求1所述的像素,所述像素还包括:
第二发光控制晶体管,所述第二发光控制晶体管连接在所述第二节点和高电位驱动电压的输入端之间。
3.根据权利要求2所述的像素,其中,在初始化时段期间,所述初始化控制晶体管、所述第一发光控制晶体管和所述第一晶体管导通,以将所述初始化电压施加到所述第一节点。
4.根据权利要求3所述的像素,其中,在所述初始化时段期间,所述第二发光控制晶体管保持断开状态。
5.根据权利要求2所述的像素,其中,在采样时段期间,所述扫描晶体管和所述第一晶体管导通并且所述第一发光控制晶体管断开,由此所述第二节点变为浮置状态。
6.根据权利要求5所述的像素,其中,在所述采样时段期间,所述第二发光控制晶体管保持断开状态。
7.根据权利要求2所述的像素,其中,在发光时段期间,
所述第一发光控制晶体管和所述第二发光控制晶体管保持导通状态,并且
所述扫描晶体管、所述第一晶体管和所述初始化控制晶体管保持断开状态。
8.根据权利要求1所述的像素,其中,第n像素线上的所述第一晶体管和所述初始化控制晶体管由与第(n-1)像素线上的所述扫描晶体管相同的扫描信号控制,其中,n是等于或大于2的自然数。
9.根据权利要求2所述的像素,其中,第n像素线上的所述第二发光控制晶体管由与第(n-1)像素线上的所述第一发光控制晶体管相同的发射控制信号控制,其中,n是等于或大于2的自然数。
10.一种有机发光二极管OLED显示器,所述OLED显示器包括:
显示面板,所述显示面板包括多个根据权利要求1至9中的任一项所述的像素;
定时控制器,所述定时控制器被配置为基于定时信号生成数据控制信号和选通控制信号;
数据驱动器,所述数据驱动器被配置为基于从所述定时控制器接收到的图像数据和所述数据控制信号生成数据电压并将所述数据电压提供到所述显示面板;以及
选通驱动器,所述选通驱动器包括电平移位器和移位寄存器,所述电平移位器被配置为基于从所述定时控制器接收到的所述选通控制信号生成选通时钟,并且所述移位寄存器被配置为基于来自所述电平移位器的所述选通时钟生成选通信号并将所述选通信号输出到所述显示面板。
11.根据权利要求10所述的OLED显示器,其中,所述移位寄存器包括发光信号产生器和扫描信号产生器,
其中,所述发光信号产生器包括多个发光驱动器,所述多个发光驱动器被配置为生成发光信号并将所述发光信号施加到所述显示面板,并且
