第二时间常数电路的时间常数可以大于第一时间常数电路的时间常数。因此,当电源电压发生器600通过第二开关SW2连接到第二时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以变慢。当电源电压发生器600通过第一开关SW1连接到第一时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以变快。例如,第一响应速度可以比第二响应速度快。

参照图1至图5C,当输入图像数据IMG的图像从低灰度图像改变为高灰度图像时,驱动控制器200可以操作净功率控制操作,使得显示面板100的驱动电流的峰值电流不快速增大。
当驱动控制器200确定输入图像数据IMG的图像从低灰度图像改变为高灰度图像时,驱动控制器200可以减小输入图像数据IMG的电平。例如,当显示面板100的1%区域表现最大灰度且显示面板100的其他区域表现最小灰度时,显示面板100的表现最大灰度的1%区域可以通过第一电压表现第一亮度。当显示面板100的100%区域表现最大灰度时,显示面板100的100%区域可以通过比第一电压小的第二电压来表现比第一亮度小的第二亮度。
驱动控制器200可以基于输入图像数据IMG的当前帧数据来操作净功率控制操作。当图像从低灰度图像(例如,图5A中的BLACK)改变为高灰度图像(例如,图5A中的WHITE)且净功率控制操作不够快以例如与输入图像数据IMG的操作时序一致时,因为未立即施加净功率控制操作,所以显示面板100会在高灰度图像的初始帧中表现比其他帧高的亮度。
在图5A中,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以被设定为快,而与亮度的增大和减小无关。在图5A中,输入图像数据IMG在第一帧F1至第四帧F4中表现低灰度图像BLACK,在第五帧F5至第八帧F8中表现高灰度图像WHITE,并且在第九帧F9至第十二帧F12中表现低灰度图像BLACK。
当净功率控制操作不够快时,第五帧F5会表现未被施加净功率控制的第一数据电压。因此,显示面板100会在第五帧F5的初始部分中显示高度增强的亮度。
相反,净功率控制被施加到第六帧F6至第八帧F8,使得第六帧F6至第八帧F8可以表现比与高灰度图像WHITE对应的第一数据电压小的第二数据电压。因此,显示面板100的亮度可以在第六帧F6至第八帧F8中基本稳定。例如,亮度的斜率可以是基本线性的。
例如,第五帧F5中的高度增强的亮度会作为闪光显示给用户。当低灰度图像BLACK和高灰度图像WHITE重复时,高度增强的亮度会作为重复的闪烁显示给用户。
在图5B中,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以被设定为慢,而与亮度的增大和减小无关。在图5B中,输入图像数据IMG在第一帧F1至第四帧F4中表现低灰度图像BLACK,在第五帧F5至第八帧F8中表现高灰度图像WHITE,并且在第九帧F9至第十二帧F12中表现低灰度图像BLACK。
当净功率控制操作不够快时,第五帧F5会表现未被施加净功率控制操作的第一数据电压。然而,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度在图5B中被设定为慢,使得显示面板100的亮度在第五帧F5的初始部分中不高度增强。
由于电源电压ELVDD的响应速度被设定为慢,因此亮度在第九帧F9的初始部分中缓慢减小。因此,第九帧F9会表现比期望亮度或预定亮度高的亮度,使得较高的亮度会作为图像残留或图像残余显示给用户。

根据本示例性实施例,可以分析输入图像数据IMG,并且可以根据输入图像数据IMG来调节施加到像素的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度等于或小于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,可以将电源电压ELVDD的响应速度调节为增大且相对高。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,可以将电源电压ELVDD的响应速度调节为减小且相对低;例如,比第一响应速度低。因此,当当前帧的亮度大于前一帧的亮度时,可以防止显示面板100的闪烁。此外,当当前帧的亮度等于或小于前一帧的亮度时,可以保持电源电压ELVDD的高响应速度。因此,可以提高显示面板100的显示质量。

时间常数选择器640可以响应于选择信号SEL而确定电源电压ELVDD的时间常数。
在本示例性实施例中,时间常数选择器640可以包括两个时间常数电路。例如,时间常数选择器640可以包括第一开关SW1、与第一开关SW1连接的第一时间常数电路、第二开关SW2以及与第二开关SW2连接的第二时间常数电路。
ELVDD发生器660可以通过第一开关SW1连接到第一时间常数电路,或者通过第二开关SW2连接到第二时间常数电路。
第二时间常数电路的时间常数可以大于第一时间常数电路的时间常数。因此,当ELVDD发生器660通过第二开关SW2连接到第二时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以变慢。当ELVDD发生器660通过第一开关SW1连接到第一时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以变快。例如,与第一时间常数电路对应的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以比与第二时间常数电路对应的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度快。
根据本示例性实施例,可以分析输入图像数据IMG,并且可以根据输入图像数据IMG来调节施加到像素的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度等于或小于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,可以将电源电压ELVDD的响应速度调节为增大。例如,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以相对高。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,可以将电源电压ELVDD的响应速度调节为减小。例如,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以相对低。因此,当当前帧的亮度增大为大于前一帧的亮度时,可以防止闪烁。此外,当当前帧的亮度没有增大为大于前一帧的亮度时,可以保持电源电压ELVDD的高响应速度。因此,可以提高显示面板100的显示质量。
图7是示出了根据本发明构思的示例性实施例的时间常数选择器240B的电路图。图8是示出了图7的时间常数选择器240B的操作的表。
除了时间常数选择器的结构和操作之外,根据本示例性实施例的显示设备和驱动显示面板的方法与参照图1至图5C解释的前面的示例性实施例的显示设备和驱动显示面板的方法基本相同。因此,可以使用相同的附图标记来表示与在图1至图5C的前面的示例性实施例中描述的部件相同或相似的部件,并且可以省略关于以上元件的任何重复说明。
参照图1至图3、图5A至图5C、图7和图8,显示设备包括显示面板100和显示面板驱动器。显示面板驱动器包括驱动控制器200、栅极驱动器300、伽玛参考电压发生器400、数据驱动器500和电源电压发生器600。
电源电压发生器600可以产生具有根据输入图像数据IMG而变化的响应速度的电源电压ELVDD。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度等于或小于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,电源电压ELVDD可以具有第一响应速度。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,电源电压ELVDD可以具有与第一响应速度不同的第二响应速度。例如,第二响应速度可以比第一响应速度慢。在本示例性实施例中,当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度可以根据输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度与输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度之间的差而变化。
在本示例性实施例中,驱动控制器200可以包括数据分析器220和时间常数选择器240B。在另一实施例中,数据分析器和时间常数选择器可以设置在电源电压发生器600中,例如,电源电压发生器600可以包括如图6中所示的数据分析器620和时间常数选择器640。
数据分析器220分析输入图像数据IMG。数据分析器220可以确定输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度是否大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度。数据分析器220可以产生表示输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度是否比输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度大的选择信号SEL。
时间常数选择器240B可以响应于选择信号SEL而确定电源电压ELVDD的时间常数。
在本示例性实施例中,时间常数选择器240B可以包括五个时间常数电路;然而,本发明构思不限于此,并且可以包括少于五个时间常数电路或多于五个时间常数电路。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度等于或小于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,第一时间常数电路可以通过第一开关SW1连接到电源电压发生器600。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,除了第一时间常数电路之外的时间常数电路中的一个可以根据输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度和输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度的差来通过它们各自的开关(例如,SW2-SW5)连接到电源电压发生器600。
尽管时间常数选择器240B包括五个时间常数电路,但本发明构思不限于此。
例如,时间常数选择器240B可以包括可以将选择信号SEL施加到其的第一开关SW1、与第一开关SW1连接的第一时间常数电路、可以将选择信号SEL施加到其的第二开关SW2、与第二开关SW2连接的第二时间常数电路、可以将选择信号SEL施加到其的第三开关SW3、与第三开关SW3连接的第三时间常数电路、可以将选择信号SEL施加到其的第四开关SW4、与第四开关SW4连接的第四时间常数电路、可以将选择信号SEL施加到其的第五开关SW5以及与第五开关SW5连接的第五时间常数电路。
例如,第一选择信号SEL1可以被施加到第一开关SW1,第二选择信号SEL2可以被施加到第二开关SW2,第三选择信号SEL3可以被施加到第三开关SW3,第四选择信号SEL4可以被施加到第四开关SW4,并且第五选择信号SEL5可以被施加到第五开关SW5。
例如,当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度等于或小于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,数据分析器220可以激活且输出第一选择信号SEL1并且禁用第二选择信号SEL2至第五选择信号SEL5。因此,当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度等于或小于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,第一开关SW1导通,使得电源电压发生器600通过第一开关SW1连接到第一时间常数电路,并且电源电压ELVDD可以具有第一响应速度。
例如,当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,数据分析器220可以根据输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度和输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度的差来激活且输出第二选择信号SEL2至第五选择信号SEL5中的一个并且禁用第一选择信号SEL1。
因此,当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,第二开关SW2至第五开关SW5中的一个导通,使得电源电压ELVDD可以具有第二响应速度至第五响应速度中的一个,每个响应速度与它们各自的时间常数电路对应。
例如,第一时间常数电路可以包括与第一开关SW1连接的第一电阻器R1以及与第一电阻器R1并联连接的第一电容器C1。例如,第二时间常数电路可以包括与第二开关SW2连接的第二电阻器R2以及与第二电阻器R2并联连接的第二电容器C2。例如,第三时间常数电路可以包括与第三开关SW3连接的第三电阻器R3以及与第三电阻器R3并联连接的第三电容器C3。例如,第四时间常数电路可以包括与第四开关SW4连接的第四电阻器R4以及与第四电阻器R4并联连接的第四电容器C4。例如,第五时间常数电路可以包括与第五开关SW5连接的第五电阻器R5以及与第五电阻器R5并联连接的第五电容器C5。
第一时间常数电路的时间常数可以确定为第一电阻器R1的电阻和第一电容器C1的电容的乘积。第二时间常数电路的时间常数可以确定为第二电阻器R2的电阻和第二电容器C2的电容的乘积。第三时间常数电路的时间常数可以确定为第三电阻器R3的电阻和第三电容器C3的电容的乘积。第四时间常数电路的时间常数可以确定为第四电阻器R4的电阻和第四电容器C4的电容的乘积。第五时间常数电路的时间常数可以确定为第五电阻器R5的电阻和第五电容器C5的电容的乘积。
第二时间常数电路的时间常数可以大于第一时间常数电路的时间常数。因此,当电源电压发生器600通过第二开关SW2连接到第二时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度会比当电源电压发生器600通过第一开关SW1连接到第一时间常数电路时产生的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度慢。
第三时间常数电路的时间常数可以大于第二时间常数电路的时间常数。因此,当电源电压发生器600通过第三开关SW3连接到第三时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度会比当电源电压发生器600通过第二开关SW2连接到第二时间常数电路时产生的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度慢。
第四时间常数电路的时间常数可以大于第三时间常数电路的时间常数。因此,当电源电压发生器600通过第四开关SW4连接到第四时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度会比当电源电压发生器600通过第三开关SW3连接到第三时间常数电路时产生的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度慢。
第五时间常数电路的时间常数可以大于第四时间常数电路的时间常数。因此,当电源电压发生器600通过第五开关SW5连接到第五时间常数电路时,电源电压ELVDD的响应速度会比当电源电压发生器600通过第四开关SW4连接到第四时间常数电路时产生的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度慢。
例如,在图8中,当前一帧的亮度为0%且当前帧的亮度为25%时,电源电压发生器600会连接到第二时间常数电路,使得电源电压ELVDD的瞬态响应时间可以为20ms。当前一帧的亮度为0%且当前帧的亮度为50%时,电源电压发生器600会连接到第三时间常数电路,使得电源电压ELVDD的瞬态响应时间可以为30ms。当前一帧的亮度为0%且当前帧的亮度为75%时,电源电压发生器600会连接到第四时间常数电路,使得电源电压ELVDD的瞬态响应时间可以为40ms。当前一帧的亮度为0%且当前帧的亮度为100%时,电源电压发生器600会连接到第五时间常数电路,使得电源电压ELVDD的瞬态响应时间可以为50ms。
例如,可以通过前一帧的亮度与当前帧的亮度之间的差的阈值来确定电源电压发生器600与第二时间常数电路至第五时间常数电路之间的选择性连接。例如,可以通过前一帧的亮度与当前帧的亮度之间的差是否等于或小于阈值来确定电源电压发生器600与第二时间常数电路至第五时间常数电路中的一个之间的选择性连接。
根据本示例性实施例,可以分析输入图像数据IMG,并且可以根据输入图像数据IMG来调节施加到像素的电源电压ELVDD的响应速度。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度等于或小于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,可以将电源电压ELVDD的响应速度调节为增大且相对高。当输入图像数据IMG的当前帧的亮度大于输入图像数据IMG的前一帧的亮度时,可以将电源电压ELVDD的响应速度调节为减小且相对低。因此,当当前帧的亮度增大为大于前一帧的亮度时,可以防止显示面板的闪烁。此外,当当前帧的亮度没有增大为大于前一帧的亮度时,可以保持电源电压ELVDD的高响应速度。因此,可以提高显示面板100的显示质量。
根据本发明构思的示例性实施例,显示设备和使用显示设备驱动显示面板的方法可以根据输入图像数据来调节施加到像素的电源电压的响应速度,使得可以提高显示面板的显示质量。

Claims (13)
1.一种显示设备,所述显示设备包括:
显示面板,被构造为基于输入图像数据来显示图像;
栅极驱动器,被构造为将栅极信号输出到所述显示面板;
数据驱动器,被构造为将数据电压输出到所述显示面板;以及
电源电压发生器,被构造为产生电源电压且输出所述电源电压,以使图像在所述显示面板上显示,其中,所述电源电压具有根据所述输入图像数据而变化的响应速度。
2.根据权利要求1所述的显示设备,其中,当所述输入图像数据的当前帧的亮度等于或小于所述输入图像数据的前一帧的亮度时,所述电源电压具有第一响应速度,
其中,当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度大于所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度时,所述电源电压具有第二响应速度,并且
其中,所述第二响应速度与所述第一响应速度不同。
3.根据权利要求2所述的显示设备,其中,所述第二响应速度比所述第一响应速度慢。
4.根据权利要求2所述的显示设备,其中,所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度被确定为所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的与所述显示面板的整个区域对应的灰度数据的总和,并且
其中,所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度被确定为所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的与所述显示面板的所述整个区域对应的灰度数据的总和。
5.根据权利要求2所述的显示设备,所述显示设备还包括:
数据分析器,被构造为分析所述输入图像数据,确定所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度是否大于所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度,并且产生表示所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度是否比所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度大的选择信号;以及
时间常数选择器,被构造为响应于所述选择信号而确定所述电源电压的时间常数。
6.根据权利要求5所述的显示设备,所述显示设备还包括:驱动控制器,被构造为控制所述栅极驱动器的操作和所述数据驱动器的操作,
其中,所述驱动控制器包括所述数据分析器和所述时间常数选择器。
7.根据权利要求5所述的显示设备,其中,所述电源电压发生器包括所述数据分析器和所述时间常数选择器。
8.根据权利要求5所述的显示设备,其中,所述时间常数选择器包括:
第一开关,被构造为从所述数据分析器接收所述选择信号;
第一时间常数电路,连接到所述第一开关;
第二开关,被构造为从所述数据分析器接收所述选择信号;以及
第二时间常数电路,连接到所述第二开关。
9.根据权利要求8所述的显示设备,其中,所述第一时间常数电路包括与所述第一开关连接的第一电阻器以及与所述第一电阻器并联连接的第一电容器,并且
其中,所述第二时间常数电路包括与所述第二开关连接的第二电阻器以及与所述第二电阻器并联连接的第二电容器。
10.根据权利要求9所述的显示设备,其中,当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度等于或小于所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度时,所述第一开关导通,并且所述电源电压发生器通过所述第一开关连接到所述第一时间常数电路,
其中,当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度大于所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度时,所述第二开关导通,并且所述电源电压发生器通过所述第二开关连接到所述第二时间常数电路,并且
其中,所述第二电阻器的电阻和所述第二电容器的电容的乘积大于所述第一电阻器的电阻和所述第一电容器的电容的乘积。
11.根据权利要求5所述的显示设备,其中,所述时间常数选择器包括:
第一开关,被构造为从所述数据分析器接收所述选择信号;
第一时间常数电路,连接到所述第一开关;
第二开关,被构造为从所述数据分析器接收所述选择信号;
第二时间常数电路,连接到所述第二开关;
第三开关,被构造为从所述数据分析器接收所述选择信号;以及
第三时间常数电路,连接到所述第三开关。
12.根据权利要求11所述的显示设备,其中,当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度等于或小于所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度时,所述第一开关导通,并且所述电源电压发生器通过所述第一开关连接到所述第一时间常数电路,
其中,当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度大于所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度时,并且当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度与所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度之间的差等于或小于阈值时,所述第二开关导通,并且所述电源电压发生器通过所述第二开关连接到所述第二时间常数电路,并且
其中,当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度大于所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度时,并且当所述输入图像数据的所述当前帧的所述亮度与所述输入图像数据的所述前一帧的所述亮度之间的所述差大于所述阈值时,所述第三开关导通,并且所述电源电压发生器通过所述第三开关连接到所述第三时间常数电路。
13.根据权利要求1所述的显示设备,其中,所述显示面板包括有机发光二极管,并且
其中,所述电源电压被输出到所述有机发光二极管。
