The cover member 50 covers the air cleaner 36, the duct 62, the throttle body 37, and the fuel supply device 38 from the side. This enables the cover member 50 to effectively protect the intake device 35.
The cover member 50 is a separate member that is attached to the air cleaner 36 and covers the air cleaner 36. Therefore, the area of the cover member 50 can be reduced, and when the cover member 50 is damaged or the like, only the cover member 50 can be replaced relatively easily.
As shown in fig. 3, a part of the traveling wind along the upper surface of the front fender 45 flows rearward as traveling wind W passing through the opening 53 of the fender bracket 52. As shown in fig. 5, the traveling wind W is guided by the gap between the rear end portion 45a of the front fender 45 and the inclined surface 74 of the cover member 61, flows rearward and downward, and reaches the front portion of the cylinder head 31 b. Therefore, the cylinder head 31b can be efficiently cooled by the traveling wind W.
As described above, according to the embodiment to which the present invention is applied, the cover structure of the motorcycle includes: a main frame 16 extending rearward from the front stand pipe 15; an air cleaner 36 as a vehicle body functional component, which is disposed below the main frame 16; and cover members 50, 50 that cover the air cleaner 36, the air cleaner 36 including an air cleaner box body 60 and a cover member 61 that is fixed to the front surface of the air cleaner box body 60 by fastening in the front-rear direction, the cover member 61 including step portions 72, 72 that are recessed rearward at left and right side portions, the cover members 50, 50 being provided in a pair on the left and right sides so as to cover the air cleaner 36 from the sides and being attached to the air cleaner 36, the cover members 50, 50 including an inner extension portion 85 that extends inward in the vehicle width direction at a front end, the inner extension portion 85 being fitted into the step portions 72, 72 of the cover member 61, the cover member 61 being flush with the front surface of the inner extension portion 85.
According to this configuration, since the inner extension 85 of the cover members 50, 50 covering the air cleaner 36 from the side is fitted into the step portions 72, 72 of the cover member 61 of the air cleaner 36 and is flush with the front surface of the cover member 61, the cover member 61 and the cover members 50, 50 can be made integral in design, the air cleaner 36 positioned below the main frame 16 can be made a part of the external appearance, and the design can be improved. Further, the fastening direction of the cover member 61 to the air cleaner box body 60 can be covered by the inside extension portion 85. The air cleaner 36 can be covered by separate cover members 50, 50 attached to the air cleaner 36.
The cover fixing member 67 for fastening the cover 61 to the air cleaner box body 60 is provided between the inner extension 85 and the cover 61, and is provided on the step portions 72 and 72. According to this configuration, the cover fixing member 67 can be hidden by the inside extension portion 85, the appearance can be improved, and unnecessary access to the cover fixing member 67 from the outside can be prevented.
The vehicle body functional component is an air cleaner 36, the air cleaner 36 is positioned between the engine 10 supported by the main frame 16 and the main frame 16, a throttle body 37 of the engine 10 is disposed behind the air cleaner 36, and cover members 50, 50 extend rearward of the air cleaner 36 so as to cover the throttle body 37 from the sides. According to this configuration, the throttle body 37 can be covered with the cover members 50, the throttle body 37 can be protected, and the appearance can be improved. Further, a part of the relatively large-volume air cleaner 36 disposed below the main frame 16 is covered with the cover members 50, and the vehicle body functional component (the air cleaner 36) can be given a characteristic appearance by giving an integrated feeling in design to the air cleaner 36 and the cover members 50, 50.
Further, an inclined surface 74 that is recessed rearward is provided at a central portion in the vehicle width direction on the front surface of the cover member 61, and the inclined surface 74 is inclined so as to be high in front and low in rear when the vehicle is viewed in side view. With this configuration, traveling wind W can be guided to engine 10 along inclined surface 74.
The step portions 72, 72 have wide portions 76, 76 extending inward in the vehicle width direction at the upper portion of the cover member 61 and having a larger left-right width, and the inclined surface 74 is provided at the lower portion of the cover member 61. According to this configuration, the wide portions 76 and 76 can firmly attach the cover members 50 and 50 to the cover member 61, and the shape of the joint surface between the air cleaner 36 and the cover members 50 and 50 can be dotted to give a characteristic appearance, thereby improving the design. Further, since the wide portions 76 and 76 are provided on the upper portion of the cover member 61, a space for providing the inclined surface 74 is easily secured on the lower portion of the cover member 61.
The above embodiment shows an embodiment to which the present invention is applied, and the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment.
In the above-described embodiment, the air cleaner 36 is described as an example of the vehicle body functional component, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the vehicle body functional member may be a battery or a power drive unit of an electric vehicle, or may be configured such that a step portion of a cover member provided in a housing of these members is covered with the cover members 50, 50.
In the above-described embodiment, the motorcycle 1 was described as an example of the saddle-type vehicle, but the present invention is not limited to this, and the present invention can be applied to a three-wheel saddle-type vehicle having two front wheels or two rear wheels, a saddle-type vehicle having four or more wheels, and the like.
