背景技术
紧固、增强装置和阻挡装置通常在运输和建筑行业中用于各种目的。此类装置可以是自锁的(例如,自固定、自附接、自密封)。装置的自锁性质可能是由于施加到装置的一部分或基本上全部的粘合剂涂层。
在许多情况下,紧固件穿过孔,或者增强或阻挡装置可以定位到空腔中。当将这些装置放入孔或腔中时,装置与腔或孔之间可能会留有空间。该空间可允许流体和气体穿过孔或腔。将可活化粘合剂(例如发泡或膨胀粘合剂)施加至装置(可在预定条件下被活化以膨胀)而使该空间被填充,这可有助于防止流体和气体流动穿过孔并经过紧固件。
本领域中已知被在将涂层施加到紧固件的动作中释放的机械能活化的膨胀粘合剂涂层(例如,在施加到紧固件时立即膨胀的可膨胀粘合剂)。然而,一旦紧固件已经被插入,但在粘合剂的任何活化之前,这些紧固件就不允许用在制造过程(例如电涂覆)中的后续的涂层被施加到孔表面。

发明内容
本教导的一个目的是提供一种可选择性活化的可膨胀材料涂层。本教导的另一目的是提供一种紧固、增强或阻挡装置,其具有粘附的选择性可活化材料涂层。
本文的教导针对一种可活化材料涂覆的装置,该装置包括用于紧固、阻挡、密封或增强的装置以及可活化材料。可活化材料包括:至少约5.5%以上的发泡剂、发泡剂促进剂或两者;固化剂;和一种或多种填充剂或增强组分。可活化材料被碾磨成约500微米至约10000微米的颗粒尺寸。将装置加热到至少约30℃但低于可活化材料的活化温度的温度并与可活化材料的颗粒接触,从而将可活化材料粘附至装置。
可活化材料还包括分散剂,该分散剂具有小于约50000amu的分子量。该分散剂可以选自石蜡或EPDM(Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer,乙烯丙烯二烯单体)。在暴露于升高的温度的条件下,可活化材料可膨胀至其原始尺寸的至少100%、至少500%、至少1000%或甚至至少3000%。一种或多种填料或增强组分可包括碳酸钙、芳纶浆粕或其组合中的一种或多种。
可活化材料可包括按重量计约10%至约70%的聚合物混合剂,该聚合物混合剂包括一种或多种丙烯酸酯和一种或多种乙酸酯。聚合物混合剂可构成可活化材料的至少约40%,并且一种或多种丙烯酸酯可构成聚合物混合剂的约40%至约85%且一种或多种乙酸酯可构成聚合物混合剂的约15%至约15%。
聚合物混合剂可包括约6.0%至约20%的增粘剂和按重量计约0.1%至约10%的环氧树脂,其中,增粘剂是烃树脂。可活化材料可以包括8%以上的发泡剂和发泡剂促进剂,该发泡剂选自胺或酰胺,并且发泡剂促进剂选自金属盐或氧化物。
可活化材料在被碾磨之前是冷冻材料。在暴露于大于约180℃的升高的温度的条件下,可活化材料膨胀至比可活化材料在未膨胀(例如生坯)状态下的体积大至少2000%的体积。该可活化材料还可以包括固化剂,该固化剂的活化温度在约60℃至约110℃之间。
可活化材料在被碾磨之前可以是球团形式。可活化材料在被碾磨之前可以是球团形式。可活化材料可以首先被制成球团并随后冷冻。
本文的教导还提供了一种制造可活化材料涂覆的装置的方法。该方法包括:提供装置、将可活化材料制成球团、可选地冷冻可活化材料、将可活化材料碾磨成平均尺寸为约500微米至约10000微米的颗粒、将装置加热至至少约30℃但低于可活化材料的活化温度的温度;并且使装置与碾磨的可活化材料接触,从而将可活化材料粘附到装置上。可活化材料包含按重量计至少约5.5%以上的发泡剂、发泡剂促进剂或两者。
可以通过冷冻可活化材料并研磨冷冻的可活化材料来完成碾磨步骤。碾磨步骤可通过将可活化材料研磨至期望尺寸并随后冷冻颗粒来完成。可将可活化材料碾磨至第一颗粒尺寸,并随后进一步碾磨至约500微米至约10000微米的第二期望颗粒尺寸。在可活化材料已被碾磨至第一颗粒尺寸之后但在被碾磨至第二期望颗粒尺寸之前,可冷冻可活化材料。
可活化材料涂覆的装置可将暴露于至少约180℃的温度的两个以上的结构固定在一起,从而使可活化材料膨胀至少约500%,填充并密封两个以上的结构交汇处。在可活化材料涂覆的装置将两个以上的结构固定在一起之后,可以将后续的涂层施加到所述两个以上的结构,使得后续的涂层覆盖包括一个或多个通孔的结构,材料涂覆的装置穿过所述一个或多个通孔。
该方法可包括在使装置与碾磨的可活化材料接触之后将装置安装到孔或腔中。该方法可包括在使装置与碾磨的可活化材料接触之前将装置安装到孔或腔中。该方法可以包括在安装装置之前将所得的涂层装置存放至少30天。
可活化材料可表现出诸如低重量、良好的粘附性、吸声、消音、相对高水平的膨胀、均匀膨胀、一致或可预测的膨胀之类的性质或其他期望的性质。可活化材料可表现出相对高水平的膨胀,而不会牺牲诸如粘附性、膨胀均匀性等的性质。在呈现可选择的条件以活化粘合剂之后,用可活化材料涂覆装置的一部分或基本上全部,从而将装置密封并固定在孔或腔内,从而在活化之前,可以对物品(装置位于其内)进行其他制造过程和/或涂覆。

本教导建立在提供颗粒状的可活化材料涂层和包含该涂层的物品的基础上。颗粒状的可活化材料形成涂层,该涂层优选在通过暴露于热、湿气、压力、电磁感应、紫外光或其他一些刺激中的一种或多种而活化的条件下发生膨胀。还可能的是,可活化材料在与化学刺激物接触时被活化。出乎意料的是,虽然材料在形成涂层之前是颗粒状的,但是可活化材料仍可表现出相对高水平的膨胀,同时保持膨胀的均匀性和/或不发生内聚破坏。另外,已经发现可活化材料涂覆的装置在诸如对汽车、船舶、建筑和航空工业中的物品提供吸声、阻挡或密封之类的应用中是特别有用的。

本教导的可活化材料可以应用于各种制造的物品,以提供声阻尼、密封物品或对物品提供增强。这种制造的物品的实例包括但不限于:家用器具或工业器具、家具、存放容器、建筑物、运动器材、结构等。可活化材料涂覆的装置可应用于机动车辆的部分,例如机动车辆的车身或框架构件(例如车辆框架纵梁)。本发明的一种方法预期将可活化材料在未膨胀状态下施加到装置上并使该材料活化,以使其膨胀到比其在未膨胀状态下的体积更大的体积(例如在未膨胀状态下的体积大100%、200%、500%、1000%、2500%、3000%或更大)。

聚合物材料通常构成可活化材料的大部分(例如,按重量计高达85%以上)。优选地,聚合物材料构成可活化材料的按重量计约15%至约85%,更优选约20%至约70%,或甚至更优选约30%至约65%。
聚合物材料可以包括一种或多种丙烯酸酯。丙烯酸酯可包括例如简单的丙烯酸酯、丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯酸乙酯、丙烯酸丁酯、丙烯酸乙烯酯、它们的共聚物或组合等。此外,这些丙烯酸酯中的任何一种可以包括其他化学基团,例如环氧基、乙烯基、丁烯基、戊烯基等,以形成诸如丙烯酸乙烯酯、乙烯丙烯酸甲酯等之类的化合物,并且还用于形成共聚物或它们的组合等。当包括一种或多种丙烯酸酯时,该一种或多种丙烯酸酯通常构成聚合物混合剂的按重量计约10%以下至约95%以上,更优选约20%至约85%,甚至更优选约35%至约75%。
优选的丙烯酸酯为丙烯酸丁酯和丙烯酸甲酯的共聚物,更特别地是乙烯丙烯酸丁酯和乙烯丙烯酸甲酯的共聚物。这种共聚物的实例是以商品名LOTRYL 35BA40出售的共聚物。另一种优选的丙烯酸酯是环氧改性的(例如环氧化的)丙烯酸酯共聚物。这种共聚物的实例为以商品名ELVALOY 4170出售的共聚物。
聚合物混合剂还可以包含一种或多种乙酸酯。乙酸酯可包括例如乙酸酯、乙酸甲酯、乙酸乙酯、乙酸丁酯、乙酸乙烯酯、它们的共聚物或组合等。而且这些乙酸酯中的任何一种可以包括其他化学基团,例如环氧基、乙烯基、丁烯基、戊烯基等,以用于形成诸如乙烯丙烯酸酯、乙烯丙烯酸甲酯等之类化合物,并且还用于形成它们的共聚物或组合等。当包括一种或多种乙酸酯时,所述一种或多种乙酸酯通常构成聚合物混合剂的按重量计约5%以下至约50%以上,更优选约7%至约35%,并且甚至更优选约15%至约25%。
优选的乙酸酯是乙烯乙酸乙烯酯(ethylene vinyl acetate,EVA)。这种乙酸酯的一个实例是以商品名ESCORENE UL-7760出售的相对高乙烯含量的EVA。这种乙酸酯的另一实例是以商品名ESCORENE UL-MV02514出售的相对低分子量/低熔体指数的EVA。
可活化材料可以包括环氧树脂组分。本申请所用的环氧树脂是指含有至少一个环氧官能团的任何常规的二聚、低聚或聚合的环氧材料。基于聚合物的材料可以是含环氧材料,该含环氧材料具有通过开环反应可聚合的一个或多个环氧乙烷环。在优选的实施例中,可活化材料包括最多约20%的环氧树脂。更优选地,可活化材料包括按重量计约0.1%和50%之间的环氧树脂。环氧可以是脂族、脂环族、芳族等。环氧可以作为固体(例如球团、块、片等)或液体(例如环氧树脂)而提供。环氧可以包括可以具有α-烯烃的乙烯共聚物或三元共聚物。作为共聚物或三元共聚物,聚合物由两种或三种不同的单体(即,能够与相似的分子连接的、具有高化学反应性的小分子)组成。优选地,将环氧树脂添加到可活化材料中以增加材料的诸如粘附、内聚等之类的性能。另外,当可活化材料是发泡材料时,环氧树脂可以增强泡孔结构。一种示例性环氧树脂可以是酚醛树脂,其可以是热塑性类型或其他类型的树脂。其他优选的含环氧材料可以包括双酚A表氯醇醚聚合物,或可以用丁二烯或其他聚合物添加剂改性的双酚A环氧树脂。
可活化材料中可包括多种增粘剂或增黏剂。示例性增粘剂包括但不限于:树脂、酚醛树脂(例如,热塑性酚醛树脂)、芳族树脂、合成橡胶、醇类等。根据一种优选的实施例,烃树脂9(例如,C5树脂、C9树脂、其组合等)被用作增粘剂。烃树脂可以是饱和的、不饱和的或部分不饱和的(即具有1、2、3或更高的不饱和度)。优选的烃树脂的一个实例是香豆酮树脂。优选的烃树脂的另一实例以商标名S-105出售。当使用时,增粘剂优选构成可活化材料的按重量计约0.1%以下至约30%以上,更优选约2%至约25%,并且甚至更优选约6%至约20%。有利地,增粘剂可能能够帮助控制固化速率,以产生可活化材料的更一致或可预测的膨胀。
可以将一种或多种发泡剂添加到可活化材料,以产生惰性气体,该惰性气体根据需要在可活化材料内形成开放和/或闭合的泡孔结构。以这种方式,可以降低由该材料制成的物品的密度。另外,材料膨胀有助于改善密封能力、基板润湿能力、对基板的粘附性、消音、它们的组合等。发泡剂可包括一个或多个含氮基团,例如酰胺、胺等。适宜的发泡剂的实例包括:偶氮二甲酰胺、二亚硝基五亚甲基四胺、4,4i-氧基-双-(苯磺酰基酰肼)、三肼基三嗪(trihydrazinotriazine)和N,Ni-二甲基-N、Ni-二硝基对苯二甲酰胺(N,Ni-dimethyl-N,Ni-dinitrosoterephthalamide)。
还可以在可活化材料中提供用于发泡剂的促进剂。可以使用各种促进剂来增加发泡剂形成惰性气体的速率。优选的发泡剂促进剂是金属盐,或者是氧化物,例如诸如氧化锌之类的金属氧化物。其他优选的促进剂包括改性的和未改性的噻唑或咪唑、脲等。发泡剂和发泡剂促进剂的量可根据所需的泡孔结构的类型、可活化材料的所需的膨胀量、所需的膨胀速率等而在可活化材料内变化很大。发泡剂、发泡剂促进剂或两者在可活化材料中的示例性范围为可活化材料的按重量计约0.1%至约25%,更优选约2%至约20%,甚至更优选约7%至约15%。
在一个实施例中,本发明省略发泡剂。因此,该材料可能不是可活化材料。优选地,本发明的制剂是热活化的。但可以采用其他试剂来通过诸如水分、辐射或其他方式之类的其他手段来实现活化。
可以将一种或多种固化剂和/或固化剂促进剂添加到可活化材料。类似于发泡剂一样,根据所需的泡孔结构的类型、可活化材料的所需的膨胀量,所需的膨胀速率、可活化材料的所需的结构特性等,固化剂和固化剂促进剂的量可能在可活化材料内变化很大。固化剂、固化剂促进剂或这两者一起在可活化材料中存在的有效量的示例性范围为按重量计约0%至约7%。
优选地,固化剂通过聚合物、环氧树脂(例如,通过化学计量过量的固化剂与树脂的环氧基团发生反应)或这两者的交联促使可活化材料进行固化。固化剂也可以在热固化可活化材料中起作用。有用的固化剂类别是选自脂族或芳族胺或它们相应的加合物、酰胺基胺、聚酰胺、脂环族胺的材料,例如酸酐、聚羧酸聚酯、异氰酸酯、酚基树脂(例如苯酚或甲酚酚醛清漆树脂、诸如苯酚萜烯、聚乙烯基苯酚或双酚-A甲醛共聚物中的一些之类的共聚物、双羟基苯基烷烃等)、它们的过氧化物或混合物。特别优选的固化剂包括改性的和未改性的多胺或聚酰胺,例如三乙基四胺、二乙基三胺、四乙基五胺、氰基胍、双氰胺等。还可以提供用于固化剂的促进剂(例如改性或未改性的脲,比如亚甲基二苯基双脲、咪唑或其组合),以制备可活化材料。
尽管更长的固化时间也是可以的,但是对于本发明的制剂来说,固化时间可以小于5分钟,并且甚至小于30秒。而且,这种固化时间可以取决于是否将附加能量(例如热、光、辐射)施加到材料上,或者该材料是否在室温下固化。
可活化材料还可包括一种或多种填料或增强组分,包括但不限于颗粒状材料(例如粉末)、珠、微球、纳米颗粒等。优选地,填料或增强组分包括相对低密度的材料,该材料通常不与存在于可活化材料中的其他组分反应。填料和增强组分的实例包括二氧化硅、硅藻土、玻璃、粘土、滑石粉、颜料、着色剂、玻璃珠或气泡、玻璃、碳陶瓷纤维、抗氧化剂等。这样的材料、特别是粘土,可以在材料流动期间帮助可活化材料使其自身平整。可用作增强组分的粘土可包括来自可进行煅烧的高岭石、伊利石、绿泥石、绿土或海泡石组的一种粘土和/或多种粘土的纳米颗粒。合适的填料的实例包括但不限于滑石、蛭石、叶蜡石、锌蒙脱石、皂石、绿脱石、蒙脱石或它们的混合物。粘土还可包括少量其他成分,例如碳酸盐、长石、云母和石英。填料还可包括氯化铵,例如二甲基氯化铵和二甲基苄基氯化铵。也可以使用二氧化钛。可以将一种或多种矿物或石材类型的填料(例如碳酸钙、碳酸钠等)用作填料。诸如云母之类的硅酸盐矿物可用作填料。硅酸盐矿物和云母尤其可以改善固化的可活化材料的抗冲击性。当使用时,可活化材料中的填料或增强组分的范围可以是按可活化材料的重量计的1%至90%。根据一些实施例,可活化材料可包括按重量计约3%至约30%,更优选按重量计约10%至约20%的粘土或类似填料。
预期到的是,在活化和后固化期间,材料的填料或其他组成中的一种可以是触变的,以帮助控制粘度,并且由此控制材料的流动以及其生坯状态下的诸如拉伸、压缩或剪切强度之类的特性。

当确定用于可活化材料的适当组分时,重要的是形成材料,使得其仅在适当的时间或温度下活化(例如,流动、起泡沫或以其他方式改变状态)。例如,在大多数应用中,除非活化机制是借助于两部分材料或其他化学活化的方式,否则不期望材料在室温下或以其他方式在生产环境中的环境温度下进行反应。更典型地,可活化材料被活化以在更高的加工温度下流动。作为示例,诸如在汽车装配厂中遇到的温度可能是合适的,尤其是当可活化材料与其他组分一起在升高的温度或更高的温度的施加能量水平下(例如在涂装准备步骤中)被加工时。在许多涂覆操作中(例如在涂料固化炉中)遇到的温度例如高达约180℃以上、200℃以上、250℃以上。
为了混合添加剂、填料或两者,优选的是在将添加剂或填料与可活化材料的其他成分混合之前将它们与分散剂混合。尽管不是必需的,但是这样的分散剂通常具有小于约100000amu,更优选小于约50000amu,并且更优选小于约10000amu的相对低的分子量。此类分散剂的实例包括但不限于液体蜡、液体弹性体等,例如乙丙橡胶(EPDM)、石蜡(例如固体石蜡)。

在本文所述的涂覆的装置是紧固装置的情况下,这种紧固装置可用于机械地固定(例如紧固)两个以上的结构、车身板件、框架纵梁等。紧固装置可包括螺纹表面。螺纹表面可以处于紧固装置的外表面上。螺纹表面可以在紧固装置的内表面上。在紧固装置的内表面和外表面上都可以有螺纹表面。固定装置可以没有螺纹表面。紧固装置可以是螺栓、螺母、焊接螺母、螺钉、夹具、凸缘、索环、铆钉、固定销、短桩或钉。紧固装置可以是树紧固件(tree-fastener)。紧固装置可以是本领域中理解的任何常规的紧固件。
该装置可以是增强结构。增强结构可以由载体形成。载体可以是细长的并且可以包括纵向轴线。载体可以具有基本恒定的横截面。可替代地,横截面可以沿着轴线变化。载体的表面可以是基本平坦的。该表面可替代地包括一个或多个结构,该一个或多个结构可以形成为肋结构,该肋结构可以平行于和/或垂直于载体的纵向轴线布置。增强结构可以是整体结构,或者可以包括多个结构,其具有用于将彼此连接起来的装置。因此,可活化材料的颗粒涂层可以位于增强结构的一个或多个表面上。
该装置可以包括阻挡结构。阻挡结构可包括中央部分和边缘部分。中央部分可以是基本平坦的。中央部分可以具有一个或多个弯曲或起伏的表面。中央部分可以基本上受边缘部分限制。边缘部分可以仅围绕中央部分的一部分延伸。阻挡结构可以延伸至基本上填充腔的横截面。因此,可活化材料的颗粒涂层可位于阻挡结构的一个或多个表面上,从而在可活化材料膨胀的情况下使腔的横截面完全被填充。
本文所述的装置可以由常规材料形成,常规材料包括但不限于金属材料、聚合物材料或其某种组合。装置可包括铝、铝合金、碳钢、合金钢、不锈钢、铁、黄铜、青铜、钛、钛合金、镁或其组合。装置可以包括钢或铝。
装置可以包括各种类型的常规镀覆材料,其包括但不限于锌、铬、铬合金、镍、镉、镁、磷酸盐或其组合。装置可以没有镀覆材料以使得该装置是裸露的。优选地,该装置涂覆有常规的电镀材料以防止腐蚀。可将可活化材料放置在位于装置上的镀覆材料上或紧邻该镀覆材料。
可活化材料用于涂覆装置的至少一部分。可活化材料可以涂覆整个装置。可活化材料可以涂覆装置的多个部分。可活化材料可以涂覆装置的一个或多个表面。可活化材料可以涂覆装置的螺纹表面的全部或一部分。可活化材料可以涂覆装置的非螺纹区域。例如,可活化材料可以位于焊接螺母的顶表面和底表面上。可活化材料位于装置上,使得在活化时,可活化材料将填充在装置与装置所位于的孔或腔之间的区域中,以防止流体、气体、碎屑和/或声音穿过。可活化材料可以以均匀的方式涂覆装置(例如,其可以具有基本一致的涂层厚度)或可以具有变化的涂层厚度。可活化材料一旦被涂覆到装置上,其通常会摸起来干燥并且不发粘。但是,可活化材料在施加至装置时可能发粘。
可以将装置加热到期望的温度以使得可活化材料粘附到装置上,同时避免可活化材料的活化。用可活化材料的颗粒涂覆装置的步骤可以使得装置的热量将可活化材料部分熔融到装置的被加热的表面上(同时避免可活化材料的完全活化)。可以将装置加热到一定温度以促进颗粒粘附到装置上,但又不足够热以使可活化材料活化。
可活化材料在活化和/或后固化期间在其生坯状态下通常是指触干燥的固体材料。可活化材料在活化或后固化期间在其生坯状态下可以是发粘材料。可以通过低温冷冻可活化材料来将可活化材料准备用于涂覆装置。可活化材料在经受冷冻条件之前优选为小球形式。可活化材料小球可被冷冻(或低温冷冻),并且然后被裂碎、切碎、研磨、碾磨或其组合。可活化材料被冷冻,使得可活化材料更脆并且更容易转变成细颗粒。例如,当将可活化材料浸入低温流体中时,温度足够低,从而其降低了材料抵抗高机械应力的能力,使得当将材料碾磨成特定尺寸时,该材料更脆并且在没有显著作用力的情况下更容易减小成较小的颗粒。预期到,用于冷冻可活化材料的低温流体可以是但不限于液氮、液氖、液氢、液氦或本领域中通常已知的任何其他低温流体。可将可活化材料冷却至-180℃和-273℃之间的温度。一旦冷冻的可活化材料已经被碾磨,就将可活化材料进一步研磨至约10微米至约500000微米的颗粒尺寸。碾磨的可活化材料的颗粒尺寸可以为至少约500微米。碾磨的可活化材料的颗粒尺寸可以小于约100000微米。碾磨的可活化材料的颗粒尺寸可以为至少约1000微米。碾磨的可活化材料的颗粒尺寸可以小于约50000微米。碾磨的可活化材料的颗粒尺寸可以为至少约5000微米。研磨的可活化材料的颗粒尺寸可以小于约10000微米。也可以将可活化材料碾磨而无需单独的冷冻步骤。可以对可活化材料进行处理,以使其更容易碾磨,或者可活化材料可以直接由室温小球碾磨而成。可活化材料用于涂覆装置或装置的至少一部分(例如,其在使用期间进入孔或腔)。
可以以多个步骤碾磨可活化材料。例如,可将可活化材料碾磨至第一平均颗粒尺寸,并且然后碾磨至第二较小的平均颗粒尺寸。预期到,平均颗粒尺寸的一致性可以改善碾磨的可活化材料的膨胀一致性、涂层厚度或粘附能力中的一种或多种。
为了用可活化材料涂覆装置,将装置加热到低于可活化材料的活化温度但升高到足以使可活化材料颗粒粘附的温度。可用可活化材料颗粒来浸渍、喷涂、浸没或本领域通常已知的任何其他形式的涂覆实践方式处理加热的装置。用可活化材料涂覆装置的过程可以没有通常用于将可活化材料施加到本文所述装置的任何模制或挤压步骤。尽管可以利用其他类型的结合关系,但是可活化材料颗粒通过热结合而粘附到装置上。一旦可活化材料颗粒粘附到装置上,就将涂覆的装置冷却并储存直至使用。
涂覆有可活化材料的装置可用在多种应用中以接合元件、密封腔和/或增强腔。涂覆的装置可以将至少一个元件与一个或多个附加元件接合。涂覆的装置可以靠近、穿过或者它们的组合该装置所要接合的一个或多个元件。例如,螺栓或螺钉可以穿过元件。例如,焊接螺母可以邻近于该元件。涂覆的装置在安装时可能会在其穿过的孔和装置的一部分之间留出空间,以用于随后施加涂层。涂覆的装置可以定位到单个腔中,或者可以定位到经由开口连接的多个腔中。该装置可以首先被涂覆,然后被定位到腔或孔中。该装置可以首先被定位到孔或腔中,并且然后在定位之后被涂覆。涂覆过程可允许在安装期间简化可活化粘合剂的施加。通常,将粘合剂施加到部件上、部件可能被存放、运输、并且然后被安装和活化。根据存放所花费的时间量,粘合剂的行为(例如膨胀率、粘附力等)可基于其保存期限而随时间变化。如果可以在安装过程中将粘合剂涂覆到装置上,则可活化材料在其生坯(例如未膨胀)状态下的保存期限不再成问题。
涂覆的装置当用于接合(例如,连接或邻接)元件或填充腔时允许随后将涂层施加到被紧固的元件或腔,使得当涂覆的装置存在时,附加的涂层可以进入孔或腔中,但可活化材料尚未被活化。可以预期到的是,后续的涂层可以用于防止腐蚀。例如,装置被使用在的物品可经受电涂覆过程。因为经涂覆的装置直到满足诸如烤到预定温度之类的预选条件才进行和膨胀,所以可以在可活化材料的活化之前施加一个或多个后续的涂层。一层或多层后续的涂层可以渗透到孔中,从而涂覆孔的表面。一旦满足活化和膨胀的条件,位于装置上的可活化材料将膨胀并粘附到孔(装置设置在孔中或孔上),从而防止流体或气体进入并经历后活化。活化的涂覆的装置将密封该装置所连接的一个或多个元件之间的孔。
如本文所用,除非另有说明,否则教导设想可以将类别(列表)的任何成员从该类别中排除;和/或马库什分组的任何成员都可以从分组中排除。
如果任何下限值和任何上限值之间存在至少两个单位的间隔,那么除非另外说明,否则本文所列举的任何数值均包括从下限值到上限值的以一个单位为增量的所有值。例如,如果说组分的量、性质或诸如温度、压力、时间等之类的处理变量的值,例如为从1至90,优选从20到80,更优选从30到70,那么预期到的是,中间范围值(例如15到85、22到68、43到51、30到32等)处于该说明书的教导之内。同样,各个中间值也处于本教导内。对于小于1的值,适当地将一个单位视为0.0001、0.001、0.01或0.1。这些仅是特定目的的示例,并且在所列举的最小值和最大值之间的数值的所有可能的组合都被视为在本申请中以类似的方式明确地陈述。可以看出,在本文中表示为“重量份”的量的教导也预期是以重量百分比表示的相同范围。因此,以所得的聚合物混合合成物的“x”重量份的范围表示也预期是所得到的聚合物混合合成物的“x”重量百分比的范围的教导。

Claims (23)
1.一种可活化材料涂覆的装置,包括:
a.用于紧固、阻隔、密封或增强的装置;
b.可活化材料,其包括:
i.至少约5.5%以上的发泡剂、发泡剂促进剂或两者;
ii.固化剂;和
iii.一种或多种填料或增强组分;
其中,所述可活化材料被碾磨成约500微米至约10000微米的颗粒尺寸;并且
其中,所述装置被加热到至少约30℃但低于所述可活化材料的活化温度的温度并与所述可活化材料的颗粒接触,从而将所述可活化材料粘附至所述装置。
2.根据权利要求1所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,所述可活化材料还包括分散剂;
其中,所述分散剂的分子量小于约50000amu;并且
其中,所述分散剂选自石蜡或EPDM。
3.根据权利要求1或权利要求2所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,在暴露于升高的温度的条件下,所述可活化材料膨胀至其原始尺寸的至少100%、至少500%、至少1000%或甚至至少3000%。
4.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,所述一种或多种填料或增强组分包括碳酸钙、芳纶浆粕或它们的组合中的一种或多种。
5.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,所述可活化材料包括按重量计约10%至约70%的聚合物混合剂;
其中,所述聚合物混合剂包括一种或多种丙烯酸酯和一种或多种乙酸酯;
其中,所述聚合物混合剂为所述可活化材料的至少约40%,并且所述一种或多种丙烯酸酯构成所述聚合物混合剂的约40%至约85%且所述一种或多种乙酸酯构成所述聚合物混合剂的约15%至约15%。
6.根据权利要求5所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,所述聚合物混合剂包括约6.0%至约20%的增粘剂以及按重量计约0.1%至约10%的环氧树脂,其中,所述增粘剂为烃树脂。
7.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,所述可活化材料包括8%以上的发泡剂和发泡剂促进剂,所述发泡剂选自胺或酰胺,所述发泡剂促进剂选自金属盐或氧化物。
8.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,所述可活化材料在被碾磨之前是冷冻材料。
9.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,在暴露于大于约180℃的升高的温度的条件下,所述可活化材料膨胀至比所述可活化材料在未膨胀(生坯)状态下的体积大至少2000%的体积。
10.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料涂覆的装置,其中,所述可活化材料还包括固化剂,所述固化剂具有在约60℃和约110℃之间的活化温度。
11.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料,其中,所述可活化材料在被碾磨之前呈球团形式。
12.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料,其中,所述可活化材料在被碾磨之前为球团形式。
13.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的可活化材料,其中所述可活化材料首先被制成球团并随后冷冻。
14.一种制造可活化材料涂覆的装置的方法,包括:
a.提供装置;
b.将可活化材料制成球团;
c.可选地冷冻所述可活化材料;
c.将所述可活化材料碾磨成平均尺寸为约500微米至约10000微米的颗粒;
d.将所述装置加热到至少约30℃但低于所述可活化材料的活化温度的温度;和
e.使所述装置与碾磨的所述可活化材料接触,从而将所述可活化材料粘附到所述装置;
其中,所述可活化材料包括按重量计至少约5.5%以上的发泡剂、发泡剂促进剂或两者。
15.根据权利要求14所述的方法,其中,碾磨步骤是通过冷冻所述可活化材料并且研磨冷冻的所述可活化材料而完成的。
16.根据权利要求14或权利要求15所述的方法,其中,碾磨步骤是通过将所述可活化材料研磨至期望的尺寸并随后冷冻颗粒而完成的。
17.根据权利要求14至16中任一项所述的方法,其中,所述可活化材料涂覆的装置将暴露于至少约180℃的温度的两个以上的结构固定在一起,从而使所述可活化材料膨胀至少约500%,从而填充并密封所述两个以上的结构交汇处。
18.根据权利要求14至17中任一项所述的方法,其中,在所述可活化材料涂覆的装置将两个以上的结构固定在一起之后,将后续的涂层施加到所述两个以上的结构上,以使得所述后续的涂层覆盖包括一个或多个通孔的结构,所述材料涂覆的装置穿过所述一个或多个通孔。
19.根据权利要求14至18中任一项所述的方法,其中,所述可活化材料被碾磨至第一颗粒尺寸,并随后进一步被碾磨至约500微米至约10000微米的第二期望颗粒尺寸。
20.根据权利要求14至19中任一项所述的方法,其中,在所述可活化材料已被碾磨至第一颗粒尺寸之后但在被碾磨至第二期望颗粒尺寸之前冷冻所述可活化材料。
21.根据权利要求14至20中任一项所述的方法,其中,所述方法包括:在使所述装置与碾磨的所述可活化材料接触之后,将装置安装到孔或腔中。
22.根据权利要求14至20中的任一项所述的方法,其中,所述方法包括:在使所述装置与碾磨的所述可活化材料接触之前,将装置安装到孔或腔中。
23.根据权利要求14至21中任一项所述的方法,其中,所述方法包括:在安装所述装置之前,将所得的涂层装置存放至少30天。
