Abstract

光收发器及其光学次模块
技术领域
本发明涉及一种光学通讯装置,特别是一种光收发器。
背景技术
光收发器一般安装在现代高速通讯网络中的电子通讯设备。为了使电子通讯设备的设计更加弹性并减轻维修其的负担,光收发器系以可插拔的方式插设于相对应的壳罩(cage)中,且此壳罩设置在通讯设备中。为了定义光收发器及所对应的壳罩之电能至机械能接口(electrical-to-mechanical interface),已提出及实施有诸如用于10GB/s通讯速率的XFP(10Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable)、QSFP(Quad Small Form-factorPluggable),或是用于不同通讯速率的其他形成因子等之不同的规范。
一般而言,光收发器中的光学次模块包含外壳(package)、承接座(Receptacle)及用于构成光纤线缆及组件的套管(Ferrule)。套管藉由黏胶黏合于承接座。
然而,当光学次模块在耦合测试(coupling test)的阶段被检测出良率不佳时,以黏胶相互固定的承接座及套管便无法在不损害光纤线缆及组件的前提下相分离。如此一来,便仅能将未通过耦合测试的承接座及套管一起报废,进而增加光学次模块的重工成本。
发明内容
本发明在于提供一种光收发器,有助于解决当光收发器的光学次模块良率不佳时无法重新组装更换承接座及套管的问题。
根据本发明之一方面的光学次模块,包含一承接座、一套管及一套管固定件。套管及套管固定件连接于承接座。套管固定件包含相互连接的一固定部及一止挡部。固定部固定于承接座,且止挡部接触套管。
根据本发明的另一方面之一光收发器,包含前述之光学次模块。
根据本发明揭露的光收发器以及光学次模块,套管固定件的固定部固定于承接座,且套管固定件的止挡部接触套管。因此,套管由可拆装的套管固定件所限位,而不是由使用于习知产品的黏胶来限制。由套管固定件对套管所进行的限位有利于在套管无法通过相对应的耦合测试时,能轻易地将套管拆卸,进而让用户能在不损害光学次模块的光学组件之前提下重新将套管与承接座对齐。

根据本发明一实施例,光学次模块包含承接座、套管及套管固定件。请参阅图1至图3。图1为根据本发明一实施例之光收发器的立体图。图2为图1中的光收发器中之光学次模块的立体图。图3为图2中的光学次模块之分解图。本实施例中,光收发器可插拔地插入壳罩(未绘示)中,且包含一光学次模块1及用于容纳光学次模块1的一壳体2。光学次模块1包含一外壳10、至少一承接座20、至少一套管30及至少一套管固定件40。光学次模块1为光收发器中的光发射次模块(Transmitting Optical Sub-Assembly,TOSA)或光接收次模块(Receiver Optical Sub-Assembly,ROSA)。值得一提的是,本发明的保护范围并不以图1中所呈现的承接座20、套管30及套管固定件40之数量为限。
外壳10例如为陶瓷罩(ceramic cap)且容纳有连接线(bonding wires)、接头(pins)、光学透镜及集成电路芯片。承接座20连接于外壳10。套管30连接于承接座20。套管固定件40例如为弧形弹性金属片。套管固定件40围绕承接座20设置,且套管固定件40包含相连的一固定部410及一止挡部420。固定部410固定于承接座20,且止挡部420接触套管30。
根据本发明一实施例,承接座包含轴部及组装部。请参阅图4图4为图2中的光学次模块之侧视图。如图3及图4所示,承接座20包含一轴部210及一组装部220。轴部210经由自身的一凸缘部211连接于外壳10。组装部220套设于轴部210。轴部210的凸缘部211及组装部220之间共同形成有一空槽230。套管固定件40的固定部410包含一爪勾结构411,且爪勾结构411延伸至承接座20的空槽230中,而使固定部410能固定勾扣于组装部220。
根据本发明一实施例,套管固定件更包含连接部。如图3及图4所示,套管固定件40包含一连接部430。固定部410及止挡部420分别连接于连接部430的相对两端。连接部430沿着承接座20的轴线A延伸(如图3所示),且连接部430套设于承接座20的组装部220。
根据本发明一实施例,套管固定件的止挡部包含爪勾结构。如图3及图4所示,套管固定件40的止挡部420包含一爪勾结构421。爪勾结构421的一爪尖4211接触套管30而用于限制套管30的活动。爪勾结构421有利于提升止挡部420的结构强度。本发明的保护范围并不以图式中爪勾结构421的形状为限。于某些实施例中,爪勾结构421的末端弯曲形成一圆弧角,并且利用此圆弧角接触套管。
根据本发明一实施例,套管固定件的连接部之开口暴露承接座的环形外表面。请参阅图5,图5为图2中的光学次模块之前视图。如图3及图5所示,套管固定件40的连接部430覆盖承接座20之组装部220的一环形外表面221之一部份,且连接部430的截面之外形为不完整的环形。环形外表面221的一区域(area)从连接部430的一开口431暴露。因此,对于使用者来说,此有利于轻易地将套管固定件40安装在承接座20以及藉由弯曲套管固定件40来将套管固定件40从承接座20拆卸。
根据本发明一实施例,套管固定件的连接部沿着承接座的环形外表面延伸。如图3及图5所示,套管固定件40的连接部430沿承接座20的组装部220之环形外表面221延伸,而在承接座20的一圆周方向D上具有一第一段长度L1。环形外表面221中从连接部430的开口431所暴露的区域于圆周方向D上具有一第二段长度L2,且第一段长度L1大于第二段长度L2。具体而言,第一段长度L1至少大于第二段长度L2的三倍。因此,套管固定件40可稳固地卡合于承接座20,而有助于防止套管30及承接座20之间发生任何不可预测的错位(misalignment)。
本发明的实施例并不以第一段长度L1及第二段长度L2之间的上述关系为限。图6为根据本发明另一实施例之光学次模块的前视图。于本实施例中,套管固定件40的连接部430之第一段长度L1等于环形外表面221中从开口431所暴露的区域之第二段长度L2。
根据本发明所揭露的光收发器及其光学次模块,套管固定件的固定部固定于承接座,且套管固定件的止挡部接触套管。因此,套管由可拆装的套管固定件所限位,而不是由使用于习知产品的黏胶来限制。由套管固定件对套管所进行的限位有利于在套管无法通过相对应的耦合测试时,能轻易地将套管拆卸,进而让用户能在不损害光学次模块的光学组件之前提下重新将套管与承接座对齐。

Claims (10)

1.一种光学次模块,包含:
一承接座;
一套管,连接于该承接座;以及
一套管固定件,连接于该承接座,该套管固定件包含相连的一固定部及一止挡部,
该固定部固定于该承接座,且该止挡部接触该套管。
2.根据权利要求1所述的一种光学次模块,其中该套管固定件更包含一连接部,该固定部及该止挡部分别连接于该连接部的相对两端,且该连接部覆盖该承接座的一环形外表面之一部份。
3.根据权利要求2所述的一种光学次模块,其中该环形外表面的一区域从该套管固定件的该连接部之一开口暴露。
4.根据权利要求3所述的一种光学次模块,其中该套管固定件的该连接部沿着该承接座的该环形外表面延伸而具有一第一段长度,该环形外表面中从该连接部的该开口所暴露的该区域具有一第二段长度,且该第一段长度大于或等于该第二段长度。
5.根据权利要求4所述的一种光学次模块,其中该第一段长度至少大于该第二段长度的三倍。
6.根据权利要求1所述的一种光学次模块,其中该套管固定件的该固定部包含一爪勾结构,该爪勾结构固定于该承接座,并且该爪勾结构延伸至该承接座的一空槽中。
7.根据权利要求6所述的一种光学次模块,其中该承接座包含一轴部及一组装部,该组装部套设于该轴部,该轴部及该组装部共同形成该空槽,且该固定部的该爪勾结构固定于该组装部。
8.根据权利要求7所述的一种光学次模块,其中该套管固定件更包含一连接部,该固定部及该止挡部分别连接于该连接部的相对两端,且该连接部套设于该组装部。
9.根据权利要求1所述的一种光学次模块,其中该套管固定件的该止挡部包含一爪勾结构,且该爪勾结构的一爪尖接触该套管。
10.一种光收发器,包含权利要求1所述的光学次模块。
