Disclosure of Invention
The object of the invention is to improve the multi-purpose tool device described at the outset in terms of use.
The object is achieved by a utility knife device with a housing, having a first knife and a second knife, which are each arranged in the housing in a storage position and can be displaced out of the housing into a use position, according to the invention, a locking device is provided, which, when one of the two knives is displaced in two positions, can be brought into a locking position in which the displacement of the other of the two knives (2, 3) is prevented.
A first variant of the invention relates to a multipurpose tool device having a housing in which two tools are supported. The two tools can be selectively brought from the storage position into the use position. This is preferably done by means of the actuating element and by pushing the corresponding tool. According to the invention, a locking device is proposed, which is designed such that only one of the two tools can be moved from a storage position into a use position. With this locking device, it should be ensured that only one tool can occupy the use position. According to the invention, when one of the two tools is displaced, the locking device is brought into a locking position in which the displacement of the other of the two tools is prevented. The locking device may have a locking body. The locking body can be alternately placed into the path of movement of the other tool by displacing one tool. In particular, it is provided that the locking body has a locking shoulder, which engages into a path of movement of the respective other tool or of a tool carrier carrying the tool. The cutters may be displaceable parallel to each other. The cutter may extend from the housing through the outlet. The outlet may be constituted by a cavity in which the respective tool is arranged. The two outlets may be narrow openings oriented parallel to each other and spaced apart from each other. The latch body may be a pivoting body. The pivot body may be pivotally secured to the housing about a pivot axis. The pivot axis can be a living joint or a film hinge. In the case of a film hinge, the locking body is preferably connected to the housing made of plastic in a material-uniform manner. The blocking body can be arranged in a window of a separating wall formed by the housing, wherein the separating wall is arranged between the two chambers. The locking body or the locking shoulder formed by the locking body can be alternately lowered into one of the two cavities, so that one of the two locking shoulders is located in the path of movement of the counter shoulder of the tool carrier. The two cutters may have different lengths. The two tool carriers can also have different lengths, wherein it is provided in particular that the longer tool carrier carries the shorter tools and the shorter tool carrier carries the longer tools, so that the sum of the length of the tool carriers and the length of the respective tools is as large as a whole. The locking shoulders can be arranged offset with respect to the displacement direction of the two tools. The tool carrier can have a rising ramp along which an edge of the locking shoulder of the locking body can slide in order to displace the locking body from the one locking position into the other locking position. Each tool carrier preferably has a locking flank which, in the use position of the tool, prevents the blocking body from pivoting back out of a blocking position which prevents a displacement of the other tool. If the two tools are in their storage position, the locking body assumes an undefined position. If one of the two tools is displaced from the storage position into the use position, the blocking body and in particular the blocking shoulder formed by the blocking body can slide along the rising ramp on the rising ramp of the tool carrier, in order to be brought into a blocking position in which the other tool is prevented from being displaced. The rising ramp preferably adjoins the mating shoulder and ends gradually in the locking flank, on which the locking body can be supported in order to prevent the locking body from moving out of its locking position in which it locks the movement of the other tool. In a further embodiment of the invention, it is provided that each tool is arranged in a tool holder. The tool receiver can be a separate housing which is mounted in a housing recess of the plastic housing. The tool receiver can be formed from a crimped steel plate. The tool receiving portion preferably constitutes a cavity which terminates in the outlet. The tool receiver can have a window through which a locking body or locking shoulder can be inserted into the interior of the tool receiver in order to exert the locking effect. A closure can be provided, which can be inserted onto the rear narrow side of the housing. The closure element can also assist in retaining the tool receiver in the housing recess of the housing. Preferably, the tool receptacles are fixed to one another by a connecting element passing through the housing and are thereby bound in the housing recess. The tool holders may be connected to each other by bolts or rivets. The tool carrier can be mounted in a displaceable manner in the interior of the tool holder. The tool carrier can be connected to the operating element. An actuating element can be associated with each of the two broad sides of the housing, which actuating element can be displaced in a slot of the tool holder in order to displace the tool carrier together with the tool in the displacement direction. The displacement direction substantially coincides with the extension direction of the housing, which can be used as a handle.
A second aspect of the invention relates to a utility knife device having an elongate housing usable as a handle, which housing has an insertion opening into which a knife, in particular a third knife, is inserted in a storage position, which knife, in particular the third knife, can be removed from the insertion opening and can be inserted into the insertion opening again in a use position in a reversible manner. The multi-purpose tool apparatus may also have the aforementioned features and may have first and second tools. According to the invention, the tool has a wedge-shaped tool section with an edge, on which a holding section adjoins, which fills the bounding section of the insertion opening both in the storage position and in the use position. The tool may be a scraping tool. The wedge-shaped cutter segment can fill an end segment of the insertion opening. The insertion opening is preferably open in the direction of the narrow side of the end face of the housing. However, the insertion opening is also preferably open to two longitudinal narrow sides of the housing which are directed away from one another. In this case, the narrow side of the tool, in particular of the third tool, can fill the opening of the insertion opening in the longitudinal narrow side. The end face of the third tool, which is the insert tool, forms the narrow side of the end face of the housing in the storage position. A locking means can be provided, with which the holding section is locked in the restraining section. For this purpose, the holding section can have one or more latching elements which can snap-engage behind edges of recesses in the wall of the holding section. The locking can be carried out both in the storage position and in the use position. The insertion tool can be removed from the insertion opening by means of a two-finger clamping, wherein the two fingers clamp on narrow sides of the insertion tool that are directed away from each other and are arranged in two longitudinal side openings of the insertion opening that are directed away from each other.

Detailed Description
The device shown in the figures is a multi-functional tool, in particular having two blade- like tools 2, 3 which can be brought independently of one another from a storage position into a use position by means of a longitudinally displaceable actuating element 34. The first tool 2 forms a scraping tool with a front edge 2', which can be a scraping edge and extends transversely to the direction of displacement of the tool 2. The second tool 3 may be a tool with a first edge portion 3' extending parallel to the direction of displacement. The tools 2, 3 are displaceably coupled to the tools 2, 3 by means of pins projecting from a first tool carrier 7, a second tool carrier 8, which pins engage in openings of the tools 2, 3.
A housing 1 made of plastic is provided. The housing has a strip-shaped form and has two housing broad sides pointing away from one another, two housing narrow sides pointing away from one another and two housing end face narrow sides pointing away from one another. The housing 1 constitutes a handle.
On each of the two housing broad sides there is a housing recess 20. In the housing recess 20, tool receivers, i.e., a first tool receiver 17 and a second tool receiver 18, are mounted. The two tool holders 17, 18 are produced from a plastic injection-molded part or a steel stamped and bent part. Each of the two tool holders 17, 18 forms a cavity, namely a first cavity 9 and a second cavity 10, in which cavities 9, 10 the tools 2, 3 are displaceably inserted. Tool carriers 7, 8 coupled to tools 2, 3 are also inserted in cavities 9, 10, and actuating element 34 is fastened to the broad side of the tool carriers. The fastening means for fastening the actuating element 34 to the tool carriers 7, 8 pass through the slots of the tool holders 17, 18.
The bottom surfaces of the tool receiving portions 17, 18 have second windows 19. Furthermore, the tool holders 17, 18 have outlets, namely a first outlet 9', a second outlet 10', through which the respective tools 2, 3 can project from the storage position into the use position.
In each case one tool holder 17, 18 is provided in two housing recesses 20 directed away from each other, which housing recesses 20 form a partition wall 12, in which the locking body 4 is provided within the first window 13. The locking body 4 is pivotable about a pivot axis 11 designed as a film hinge within a first window 13. The locking body 4 forms two locking shoulders, namely a first locking shoulder 5 and a second locking shoulder 6, which locking shoulders 5, 6 can be selectively lowered into one of the two cavities 9, 10 in order to block a displacement of the tools 2, 3 arranged in the cavities from the storage position into the use position.
In the present embodiment, the first tool 2 has a shorter extension than the second tool 3. The tool carrier 7 carrying the first tool 2 has a larger longitudinal dimension than the second tool carrier 8 carrying the second tool 3. The two tool carriers 7, 8 form engagement shoulders, namely a first engagement shoulder 14 and a second engagement shoulder 15, which interact with the locking shoulders 5, 6 of the locking body 4. The latching shoulder 5 is arranged closer to the pivot axis 11 than the latching shoulder 6. The distance separating the two latching shoulders 5, 6 is the difference in length between the two tool carriers 7, 8, so that the two latching shoulders 5, 6 can be brought in front of one of the two mating shoulders 14, 15 in the fully retracted position of the tool carriers 7, 8. The rising ramp 32 abuts the mating shoulders 14, 15 and ends again gradually in the locking flank 33. The two locking flanks 33 of the tool carriers 7, 8 face each other and point in the direction of the window 13. Alternatively to this, however, the rising ramp can also be formed by the locking body 4.
The mode of action of this multipurpose cutter device is as follows: in the position shown in fig. 4, the two tools 2, 3 are in their storage position, from which the first tool 2 can be placed into the use position or the second tool 3 can be placed into the use position. If the first tool 2 is pushed into the use position (fig. 8), the edge of the blocking body 4 that abuts against the blocking shoulder 5 slides off the rising ramp 32 of the tool carrier 7 and the blocking body 4 pivots about the pivot axis 11 into the blocking position, in which the blocking shoulder 6 is located in front of the counter shoulder 15 of the tool carrier 8, so that the second tool 3 cannot be pivoted into its use position.
If, on the other hand, starting from the basic position shown in fig. 4, the second tool 3 is displaced into the use position (fig. 9), the edge of the locking body 4 which abuts against the locking shoulder 6 slides off the rising ramp 32 in order to move the locking body 4 about the pivot axis 11 such that the locking shoulder 5 is located in front of the engagement shoulder 14.
In both of the above-described use positions shown in fig. 8 and 9, a locking flank 33 is respectively provided in the pivoting movement space of the locking body 4, so that one of the edges of the locking body 4 comes to bear against the locking flank 33 in order to prevent the locking body 4 from being rotated out of the respective locking position. The edge of the locking body 4 can be rounded in order to better slide off on the rising ramp 32. In this case, it can also be provided that the engagement shoulders 14, 15 are rounded and that a rising ramp 32 is associated with the locking shoulders 5, 6.
In order to hold the tool holders 17, 18 in the housing recess 20, rivets can be provided which connect the two rear sides of the tool holders 17, 18 to one another. The closure member 16 with the latch arms 35 can be inserted into the rear housing opening.
A third tool 21, which is an insertion tool, is arranged on the housing narrow side opposite the closure 16. The insertion tool has a tool section with a wedge shape and ending with a second edge portion 23.
The third tool 21 may be a plastic part. Adjacent to the tool section 22 is a holding section 24, which has a substantially cuboid envelope surface. The convex portion 25 protrudes from the rectangular parallelepiped envelope surface. The projection 25 preferably protrudes from a broad side of the holding section 24. The projections 25 may constitute ribs.
The two opposing narrow sides of the holding section 24 are located in the opening of the longitudinal narrow side 37 of the housing 1 and form a clamping region. By gripping on the clamping area, the third tool 21 can be inserted into the insertion opening 26 on the end-face narrow side of the housing 1. This can be done in a plurality of positions offset by 180 degrees, i.e. in the use position or in the storage position.
The insertion opening 26 is open not only to the end-face narrow side but also extends between the two outlets 9', 10'. The insertion opening 26 is also open to both longitudinal narrow sides 37 of the housing 1. The insertion opening 26 forms a holding section 24, into which the holding section 24 of the third tool 21 is inserted not only in the use position but also in the storage position. The two opposing narrow sides of the third tool 21 are in these positions essentially flush in the two opposing longitudinal narrow side openings of the insertion opening 26, so that they can be used for switching the third tool 21.
As shown in particular in fig. 12, the wedge surface of the wedge-shaped third tool 21 extends slightly trapezoidally. The two longitudinal narrow sides 37 extend toward one another in the direction of the end of the housing 1.
In the storage position, the tool section 22 of the third tool 21 engages in the wedge-shaped end section 28 of the insertion opening 26. In the position of use, which corresponds to the position in which the third tool 21 is turned 180 degrees, the tool section 22 projects beyond the housing 1, wherein the second blade 23 extends transversely to the housing longitudinal dimension.
The two opposite broad-side walls of the securing section 27 of the insertion opening 26 form a recess 29 with an edge 30. Preferably, the latching elements 36 of the holding section 24 can latch behind these edges. The latch element 36 is an arcuate spring. The holding section 24 has two channels, which each form a latching element 36 with their base. Two channels arranged side by side have openings which open in opposite directions.
