Disclosure of Invention
The object on which the invention is based is to provide a household appliance having an advantageously configured exterior element.
This object is achieved by the subject matter having the features according to the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments are the subject of the dependent claims, the description and the figures.
According to a first aspect, the object is achieved by a household appliance having an exterior element which is arranged on an appliance outer side of the household appliance and has a lighting element having a light source for illuminating the exterior element, wherein the household appliance has a light-transmitting structural element having an outer side facing the appliance outer side and an inner side facing away from the appliance outer side, wherein the exterior element is arranged on the outer side of the light-transmitting structural element, and wherein the exterior element has an exterior layer in which at least one recess is formed, wherein the lighting element is arranged on the inner side of the light-transmitting structural element, and wherein the light source is configured for emitting light through the light-transmitting structural element and the recess in the exterior layer for illuminating the exterior element.
This has the technical advantage that a particularly effective illumination of the exterior element on the outside of the appliance of the household appliance is ensured without the need for a lighting device or a light guide being installed in the exterior element itself for this purpose.
In conventional household appliances, lighting and/or light guides are soldered into conventional exterior elements in order to be able to guide the light, for example, to the operating side of an operating panel of the household appliance. In order to ensure that the light guide is accommodated in the corresponding conventional exterior element, an additional printed circuit board must be fastened to the conventional exterior element, thereby increasing the installation effort.
In the domestic appliance according to the disclosure, a lighting element is used which is arranged on the inner side of the light-transmitting structural element within the domestic appliance facing away from the appliance outer side. The light source of the lighting element arranged within the household appliance emits light which passes through the light-transmitting structural element and through the cutout in the outer decoration layer of the outer decoration element to the appliance exterior of the household appliance. The light passing through the aperture of the outer decorative layer on the appliance outer side of the household appliance thus illuminates the outer decorative element.
A particularly visually attractive appearance of the outer side of the appliance of the household appliance can be ensured by the illuminated exterior element. Furthermore, it is possible for a user of the household appliance to visually highlight specific components on the appliance outside of the household appliance. In this way, the advantage is achieved that the user can advantageously recognize the respective component, for example an operating element of the household appliance, if the household appliance installation space is not sufficiently illuminated. Furthermore, dynamic content can be displayed by the exterior element, in particular by illuminating the exterior element, wherein the dynamic content may comprise, for example, a changing alphanumeric character string, such as, for example, a program remaining duration and/or an appliance status.
In particular, the light source can have at least one light-emitting diode, in particular an LED and/or an OLED. The LEDs and/or OLEDs can be dynamically controlled, emitting light with different colors and/or different intensities, so that in particular a uniform illumination of the exterior element can be ensured.
A household appliance is understood to be an appliance for household use. It may be a large household appliance, such as a washing machine, a washer-dryer, a dishwasher. However, it may also be a small household appliance, such as a water heater, a fully automatic coffee maker, a kitchen machine or a carpet cleaning appliance.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the lighting element has a light-guiding element which is configured for coupling in light emitted by the light source into the light-guiding element and for guiding the coupled-in light through the light-guiding element and out of the light-guiding element in order subsequently to emit the emitted light through the light-transmitting structural element and the opening of the outer decoration layer.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that, by means of the light-guiding element within the lighting element, it is possible to ensure: the light emitted by the light source can advantageously be guided through the lighting element in the orientation of the light guide element in the lighting element, and the light can then be emitted directionally through the light-transmitting structural element and the cut-out in the outer decorative layer to the appliance outside of the household appliance.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the light-guiding element has a receptacle, in particular a recess, for receiving the light source.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the receptacle, in particular the groove, ensures: the light source is particularly advantageously accommodated in the light-guiding element, wherein the light source is in particular at least partially surrounded by the light-guiding element. In this way, light emitted by the light source can be coupled into the light-guiding element particularly efficiently.
In an advantageous embodiment of the household appliance, the light source is arranged on a side of the lighting element facing away from the light-transmitting structural element, wherein the light-guiding element extends within the lighting element from the light source to the side of the lighting element facing the light-transmitting structural element, and the light-guiding element has a coupling-in surface which is designed for coupling light emitted by the light source into the light-guiding element, and a coupling-out surface which is designed for coupling out light from the light-guiding element, wherein the coupling-out surface is in particular larger than the coupling-in surface, and wherein the coupling-out surface is in particular arranged offset with respect to the coupling-in surface.
The light source can be arranged in the light-transmitting structure element, and the light-guiding element can be arranged in the light-transmitting structure element in such a way that the light source is arranged in the light-transmitting structure element. After the light has been guided through the light-guiding element, the light can be coupled out of the light-guiding element on the side of the lighting element facing the light-transmitting structural element, advantageously through the coupling-out face of the light-guiding element. The outcoupled light can then be emitted through the light-transmitting structural element and through the opening in the outer decoration layer to illuminate the outer decoration element. In particular, the coupling-out surface is larger than the coupling-in surface and the coupling-out surface is arranged offset with respect to the coupling-in surface, which achieves the advantage that the light guided by the light-guiding element can be coupled out of the coupling-out surface over a particularly large area, so that a particularly large-area and uniform illumination of the exterior element is produced and regions (hot spots) which are not uniformly illuminated in terms of brightness can be avoided.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the lighting element has an electrically conductive element, in particular a film conductor or a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), wherein the light source is electrically connected to the electrically conductive element and the electrically conductive element is in particular connected to a power supply of the domestic appliance.
The advantage is thereby achieved that the electrically conductive element enables an effective electrical connection for operating the light source. Furthermore, the light source can be arranged on an electrically conductive element, in particular a film conductor or a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), to ensure a stable fixation of the light source within the lighting element.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the light-transmitting structural element is formed from an at least partially light-transmitting plastic, in particular Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and/or Polycarbonate (PC).
The advantage thereby achieved is that the at least partially light-transmitting plastic can be produced particularly simply and cost-effectively and can be shaped particularly advantageously in the desired shape.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the lighting element is connected to the inner side of the light-transmitting structural element in a form-fitting, force-fitting and/or material-fitting manner, in particular by an adhesive connection, a welded connection, a clip connection and/or a clamping connection.
The advantage achieved thereby is that the mentioned connection forms ensure an effective fixing of the lighting element on the inner side of the light-transmitting structural element.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the lighting element has a light-scattering element, wherein the light-scattering element is configured for scattering light emitted by the light source to obtain diffused light, and the light-scattering element comprises, in particular, a light-scattering film within the lighting element and/or a light-scattering layer in the profiled surface and/or in the outer coating of the lighting element and/or a light-scattering print of the lighting element.
The advantage achieved thereby is that, by scattering the light emitted by the light source by means of the light-scattering element, a diffuse light is obtained which can particularly advantageously pass through the cutout of the outer decoration layer in order to illuminate the outer decoration element.
In an advantageous embodiment of the household appliance, the light source is configured for directing light in a direction of a side of the lighting element facing away from the light-transmitting structural element, the lighting element having a reflective element for reflecting light, which is arranged on the side of the lighting element facing away from the light-transmitting structural element and is configured for reflecting light emitted in a direction of the side of the lighting element facing away from the light-transmitting structural element in a direction of the side of the lighting element facing towards the light-transmitting structural element in order to direct the reflected light through the light-transmitting structural element.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the reflective element, by means of the reflected light, enables an effective diversion of the direction of propagation of the light emitted by the light source, so that a uniform light exit is ensured and regions (hot spots) which are not uniformly illuminated in terms of brightness can be avoided. The light source is arranged in the lighting device in such a way that it illuminates the side of the lighting element facing away from the light-transmitting structural element. The reflective element reflects light back to the side of the lighting element facing the light-transmissive structural element, so that the reflected light passes through the light-transmissive structural element and can effectively illuminate the exterior element. Due to the reflective properties of the reflective element, for example, the light intensity of the light radiated by the lighting element can be increased.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the reflective element comprises a cover, in particular a light-blocking cover, of the lighting element, which cover has in particular at least one contour in order to ensure an effective reflection of the light.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the cover, in particular the light-blocking cover, which is arranged on the side of the lighting element facing away from the light-transmitting structural element ensures that the light radiated onto the cover by the light source is effectively reflected and does not pass through the cover. The contour can comprise, for example, grooves, ribs and/or thickenings on the inner surface of the cover to ensure particularly favorable reflection properties of the cover.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the outer coating and the recess in the outer coating are injected into the light-transmitting structural element.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the outer decoration is injected into the light-transmitting structural element, thereby ensuring a particularly effective accommodation of the outer decoration.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the at least one recess is bounded by a circumferential recess edge of the outer coating.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the illumination of the exterior element can be influenced by the circumferential notch edge.
In an advantageous embodiment of the household appliance, the exterior element is arranged on a front side of the household appliance, wherein the exterior element extends, in particular on the front side, at least in sections from one longitudinal side of the household appliance to an opposite longitudinal side of the household appliance.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the exterior element, which extends in particular horizontally on the front side of the household appliance, enables a particularly advantageous, visually attractive shaping of the household appliance.
In an advantageous embodiment of the household appliance, the exterior element comprises at least one graphic element and/or at least one text element and/or at least one shape, which is formed by the at least one indentation, wherein the light emitted by the light source illuminates the graphic element and/or the text element and/or the shape.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the furnishing element can comprise a plurality of different graphic or text elements and can have a plurality of different shapes. Thereby, the light passing through the at least one indentation can advantageously illuminate the exterior trim element.
In an advantageous embodiment of the domestic appliance, the outer decoration layer is designed as an at least partially light-transmitting outer decoration layer, wherein in particular diffuse light can penetrate the at least partially light-transmitting outer decoration layer.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the diffuse light passing through the outer decorative layer ensures a particularly advantageous illumination of the outer decorative element.
