The working principle is as follows: when the potato harvester is used, the machine body 1 is hung on a tractor or other tractors through the traction frame 8, the hydraulic rod 12 is started, the hydraulic rod 12 drives the soil turning frame 13 to rotate, the soil turning shovel 15 inclines downwards to be inserted into soil, the machine body 1 is started to work at the same time, the first rotating wheel 2, the auxiliary wheel 3 and the driven wheel 4 drive the conveying chain 5 to work, the potato harvesting and digging work can be automatically carried out through the traction forward movement of the tractor, the second motor 24 is started, the second motor 24 drives the rotating shaft 23 to rotate, the rotating shaft 23 drives the rotating drum 25 to rotate, the rotating drum 25 drives the second rake teeth 26 to automatically roll up root stems and leaves of potatoes on the conveying chain 5, the root stems and leaves can be automatically filtered through the matching of the first rake teeth 21, the first motor 20 is started, the first motor 20 drives the second rotating wheel 17 to rotate, the second rotating wheel 17 drives the belt 18 to rotate, the belt 18 drives the sweeping brush 19 to automatically sweep out the root, stem and leaf on the first rake teeth 21, the retaining ring 33 on the collecting vehicle 32 is hung on the limiting column 31, the collecting vehicle 32 can be automatically hung on the machine body 1, and the work of collecting potatoes can be automatically completed through the discharging frame 27 and the collecting box 34.
