Description

Wiper blade
Technical Field
The invention relates to a wiper blade, in particular for a motor vehicle, of the type described in the independent claim.
Background
Known for example from DE 102008001152 a1 are wiper blades which have a wiper strip with a longitudinal extension, which is supported by an envelope. In this case, a spring rail is arranged in the envelope, which spring rail provides the required support force of the wiper strip on the window pane. End caps are attached to the ends of the spring rails, and each end cap closes the wiper blade at its end.
Such wiper blades are relatively expensive to produce and therefore not always cost-effective to produce.
Disclosure of Invention
THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
The wiper blade according to the invention having the features of the main claim has the following advantages: the envelope substantially completely surrounds the spring rail and at one end of the longitudinal extension an end cap surrounds the envelope in cross section and is connected to the envelope by a locking connection, thereby showing a wiper blade that is easy to manufacture.
Advantageous refinements and improvements of the features specified in the main claim are obtained by the measures specified in the dependent claims.
It is particularly advantageous if the locking connection is arranged on at least one of the longitudinal sides of the sleeve, since this makes it possible to achieve particularly rapid installation.
It may furthermore be seen as advantageous if the locking connection has a locking lug provided at the end cap and a cutout in the sleeve for engaging the locking lug. In this way, the end cap is securely fixed at the envelope.
It is particularly advantageous here if the spring rail has a rail cutout which is arranged to correspond to (for example in a substantially covering manner) a cutout in the jacket and through which the locking lug engages into the rail cutout for locking. This also further improves the fastening of the end cap.
This advantageously results in a particularly simple production by the locking lug having a ramp section.
It is particularly advantageous here for the locking lug to project, in particular inwardly, from a side wall of the end cap.
Particularly good flow properties and therefore particularly good scraping results are advantageously achieved in that the end cap has a covering surface which covers the latching connection.
The flow behavior is furthermore improved in that the end cap projects beyond the cutout in the longitudinal direction.

Detailed Description
A wiper blade 10 according to the invention is shown in perspective illustration in fig. 1. The wiper blade comprises a wiper strip 12 which rests on the pane of the motor vehicle during operation. The wiper strip 12 is supported by a sleeve 14, at which an adapter 16 is also arranged for fastening the wiper blade 10 at a wiper arm of a motor vehicle. In the longitudinal direction, the wiper blade 10 is closed by an end cap 18. For reasons of clarity, the end cap 18 is shown here only at one end. It is of course also possible to provide such an end cap 18 at the other end of the longitudinal extension of the wiper blade 10.
Fig. 2 shows the wiper blade 10 of fig. 1 in an exploded view. The envelope 14 supports the wiper strip 12, and holds the spring rail 20 therein. The spring rails 20 are surrounded almost completely by the envelope 14 and are formed from metal (in particular from steel or strip steel). The spring rail 20 is pre-bent in such a way that the wiper blade 10 is convexly bent in the relaxed state, so that the wiper strip 12 presses substantially uniformly in its longitudinal extension direction against the window pane when the wiper blade 10 rests on the window pane of the motor vehicle by means of the spring rail 20. For this purpose, the adapter 16 is fixed to the jacket and the spring rail 20 in an intermediate region in the longitudinal extension direction of the jacket. An end cap 18 is provided at the end of the longitudinal extension and is fixed at the envelope 14.
In fig. 3, the end of a wiper blade according to the invention, at which the end cap 18 is arranged, is shown in detail. The cover 14 is designed here as one piece with the wiper strip 12, but the wiper strip 12 can also be designed as separate from the cover 14 and be fixed there, for example, by means of separate rails.
In the envelope 14, the spring rails 20 have lateral cutouts 22 which are approximately rectangular in configuration. Here, two incisions 22 are shown, which may be provided in a variant of the invention. The cut-out 22 is approximately 0.5 to 1 cm long in the longitudinal direction and so deep that, viewed in the transverse direction in the direction of the center of the jacket 14, the spring rail 20 is partially exposed. In one variant, however, the cutouts 22 may also be provided only to the extent that the spring rails do not protrude or only so deep that the spring rails 20 are still not visible. The length of spring rail 20 is fully received by enclosure 14 so that enclosure 14 is slightly longer than spring rail 20.
A variation of the embodiment of figure 3 is shown in figure 4. Here, the spring rails 20 are likewise completely enclosed by the envelope 14, with the exception of the cutouts 22 (in which the spring rails 20 can be seen). Here, the wiper strip 12 is likewise designed in one piece with the cover 14. In contrast to the exemplary embodiment in fig. 3, however, the spring rail 20 has a rail cutout 24 which corresponds in terms of its shape to the cutout 22 of the jacket. The reduced width of the envelope 14 in the region of the cutout 22 corresponds to the reduced width of the spring rail 20 by the rail cutout 24, so that in the region of the cutout 22 the spring rail 20 ends approximately flush with the envelope 14.
In fig. 5, the end of the wiper blade 10 according to the invention from fig. 3 with the end cap 18 before mounting is shown. A spring rail 20 is disposed in the enclosure 14. The cut 22 is arranged at a distance of about 1 cm from the end of the longitudinal extension of the envelope 14, which is about 0.5 cm wide. The spring rails 20 can be seen in the cut-outs 22. Here again, the wiper strip 12 is again designed to be integral with the envelope 14.
The end cap 18 is of generally rectangular configuration in cross section and has only a slot for the wiper strip 12 to pass through as viewed in cross section. In addition, the end cap 18 completely surrounds the envelope 14. For this purpose, the end cap 18 has a cover surface 26 which is delimited in the transverse direction by two side walls 28. The end cap 18 is drawn here in a halved cross section, so that the interior of the end cap 18 is likewise visible.
Arranged at the side wall 28 are locking lugs 30 which project inwards in the transverse direction. Here, the locking lug 30 comprises a ramp section 32 which is designed as a running (ablaufende) tab when the end cap 18 is inserted onto the sleeve 14. Thus, the ramp section 32 extends over the section of the side wall 28 that is first closer to the cuff 14 and projects inwardly therefrom.
Outside along the longitudinal extension of the end cap 18, a bottom section 34 is provided which is arranged parallel to the footprint section 26 and extends inwardly from the side wall 28. The bottom section 34 extends inward to such an extent that a secure hold of the envelope 14 is ensured and sufficient clearance for the wiper strip 12 to pass through is reserved.
At the outermost end of the end cap 28, a stop surface 26 is provided, which in the mounted position closes an insertion opening of the casing 14 for the insertion of the spring rail 20.
Fig. 6 shows the end cap 18 (fig. 4) on the end of the wiper blade 10 after installation from below. The wiper strip 12 is fixed at the envelope 14. Disposed in enclosure 14 is a spring rail 20, which is not visible in this view. The envelope 14 has two cut-outs 22, wherein however only one cut-out 22 is required according to the invention.
The end cap 18 has two side walls 28. A locking lug 30 extends inwardly from one of the side walls 28 and has a ramped section 32 extending inwardly in a transverse direction from an inner end of the end cap 18. When the end cap 18 is pushed onto the sleeve 14, the locking lug 30 is pressed outwards by the ramp section and is now turned into the cutout 22, so that a locking connection is produced by the locking lug 30 and the cutout 22. At this time, the free end of the ramp section 32 engages with the outer end of the notch 22 or the rail notch 24. A closing section 36 of the end cap 18, which closes the envelope 14 at the end, is arranged at the outer end of the wiper blade 10 or the envelope 14. In the region of the end cap 18, the end cap completely surrounds the envelope 14, except for the gap at which the wiper strip 12 is fixed at the envelope 14.
The end cap is made of plastic, for example by injection moulding. The wiper strip and the envelope 14 are likewise both made of plastic. In the case of the one-piece molding of the envelope 14 and the wiper strip 12 shown here, a two-component extrusion method is used, so that the plastic used for the envelope 14 can be harder than the plastic used for the wiper strip 12. Multicomponent extrusion processes are also possible here.
As mentioned above, the wiper strip 12 and the cover 14 can also be designed in multiple parts. For example, claw rails can be provided on the jacket 14, which claw rails support the wiper strip 12. The wiper strip 12 may likewise be glued to the envelope 14 or otherwise secured.
The spring rail 20 is made of a long strip steel and is pre-bent in such a way that it is convexly shaped in the relaxed state and is adapted when placed on the window pane of the motor vehicle corresponding to the surface shape of the window pane, so that the wiper strip 12 is pressed reliably against the window pane.
During installation, the spring rail is first inserted into the envelope 14 and then the end cap 18 is pushed over the envelope 14 until the locking connector secures the end cap 18 to the envelope 14.
