The working principle of the invention is as follows: when walking, the foot 22 contacts with the ground, the user holds the grip 12 to start walking, and the crutch rod 11 can be extended and retracted to adjust the length thereof to suit different people. When a user goes up and down stairs, the user stands on the stairs with feet, contracts the crutch rod 11, horizontally crouchs the crutch, clamps the handrail clamping mechanism 2 on the handrail, and enables the first clamping block 30 to abut against the handrail; the rotating handle 28 is held by hand to rotate, the pin 29 moves on the inclined surface 241 of the push rod 24 to drive the push rod 24 to move, so that the clamping block lining plate 25 is pushed to move on the cylindrical guide rail 23, the second clamping block 31 on the clamping block lining plate 25 is abutted against the handrail and matched with the first clamping block 30 to clamp the handrail, the rotating handle 28 is loosened after the clamping block clamps the handrail, the rotating handle 28 is locked, and at the moment, a user can hold the crutch rod 11 with two hands and climb the stairs with the legs together; when the clamping needs to be released, the unlocking snapping pin 276 only needs to be snapped, so that the ratchet wheel buckle 272 releases the limitation on the ratchet wheel 271, the second clamping block 31 is reset under the action of the second clamping block reset spring 32, and the clamping on the stair handrail is released. If the user needs to go upstairs, the handrail clamping mechanism 2 moves forwards along the stair handrail, and then is locked again, and the action of going upstairs is repeated. After the stair reach the destination floor, the stair handrail clamping mechanism 2 is firstly unlocked and then dismounted from the stair handrail.
