Abstract

A solid surface material is provided with a thin layer of filled polymer integrally formed with a backing of bubble-filled polymer, without an interface or transition zone in the polymer matrix.

Description

Casting compound spare
Background of invention
The present invention relates to have the polymkeric substance solid surface that adds filler and also be filled with the composite casting object of zone of transition of polymkeric substance bottom, do not have not filling at said interlayer of the analogous material of cavity filling.
At solid surface material in the art is known, comprises those materials based on polymethylmethacrylate and hibbsite.Be exposed among the disclosed PCT patent application US88/14322 (1988) of the United States Patent (USP) No. 4085246 (1978) of the United States Patent (USP) No. 3847865 (1974) of Duggins and Buser, Roedel and Vassiliou and Frank, Otremba, Pohl and Schlier by skill about the basic technology of these products.
Before used expensive multistep processes and laminated product to have its visibly different layer of performance separately the bottom and the laminated trial of glass fibre reinforcement of such solid surface material, cavity filling-filling.Such sandwich-like product is compared with integral product and is easier to usually under certain conditions owing to the interface causes delamination and other weakness. Its representative is the multilayer product of the EP285046 (1993) of Schock in this class multilayer product.
The instruction of quoting the method for above-mentioned all documents and product herein is used as making the reference of the polymer-filled material of solid surface.Hope can provide a kind of lightweight sheet material, and it has the surface property of the solid surface material of integral form, and does not have a layer zone of transition at interlayer, and can be with lower-cost method manufacturing.
The invention summary
The invention provides casting compound spare, described casting compound spare comprises the matrix and at least two districts that contain different fillers of polymkeric substance, said object is flat basically and has two facing surfaces, first district of object comprises that one of object contains amount of filler and accounts for 10~80% the surface that filler adds matrix weight like this, and that second district comprises is relative with said first surface, having amount of filler is that 5-60% and cavity filling amount are the second surface of 3-30%, both all add the weight of matrix in filler and cavity filling, said first and second districts form one does not have the not continuum of filling hypothallus basically between two districts. Also can comprise three district similar at the opposite side in described second district to first district.Preferably, casting compound spare of the present invention also has a crust on first surface, and this crust contains the polymeric substrate that has very hard filler, so that scratch resistance and wear resistance to be provided.
In another embodiment, the 3rd layer of forming in the first composition limited field is added on the second layer. And before the casting the first layer, can spread a crust, this crust has the filler harder than ATH, for example aluminum oxide, silica, lime carbonate or natural in grouan. In addition, filling or not the pulverized particles of potting resin can be added in the first layer.Said pulverized particles is referring to No. the 4085246th, United States Patent (USP).
Detailed explanation
An advantage of the present invention is that it provides a kind of in light weight, more economical, does not have the solid surface material of the polymkeric substance zone of transition that can cause the brittle zone or cause other mechanical difficulties. This product can a step or the production of two-step approach casting.
Except other has the person of pointing out, umber, ratio or per-cent are all represented with weight.
One step casting
By adding two kinds or multiple filler, or prepare polymerizable mixture in the adulterant of this monomer and the slurries that are dissolved in 20% polymethyl methyl esters in this monomer to methyl methacrylate monomer.Filler is 1 in the present embodiment) aluminum trihydrate, 2) hollow glass bubbles, be preferably 3M " Scotchlite " S-22-10~100 μ m, intermediate value 40 μ m and 3) cream-coloured tinting pigment.Said slurries comprise about 20% polymethylmethacrylate in the monomer.Prepare a kind of mixture by the fusion following ingredients:
Weight %
Methyl methacrylate 50.5
Slurries 5.5
Hibbsite 33.0 " Scotchlite " S-22 (10-100 μ m, intermediate value 40 μ m) glass envelope 11.0
100.0
Add a spot of cream-coloured pigment (<1.0%) with colored product.Add initiator and said mixture is vacuumized to remove air. Then mixture is cast in the mould.
Said mixture has low viscosity (about 100 centipoises or 0.1Psec.), and this helps described filler and differently carries out layering according to what its proportion was compared with liquid phase. When heavier hibbsite (proportion is 2.42) and cream-coloured pigment sank to the bottom, hollow glass bubbles (proportion is 0.22) rose in liquid (proportion is about 1).Before solidifying the vibration mixture can accelerating mixture in filler separation and make filler the dispersion in the layer be more even separately at it.In the thick mould of 3.8cm cast and solidify after, two isolating layers appear: contain the surface layer of the thick acrylate copolymer of the 0.8cm of hibbsite and colouring matter and contain the thick bottom of 3.0cm of glass envelope and hibbsite.Yet, between this is two-layer, do not have the interface. They become one by means of successive polymeric matrix in entire structure.Surface layer is about 1: 4 with the thickness ratio of foam bottom in this structure.73.8% hibbsite is present in the surface layer and 9.7% hibbsite is present in the foam layer and (measures according to the thermogravimetic analysis (TGA) method).
Contain heavier filler and make us wishing in surface layer and foam layer, this is because this class filler can improve the character of product, distributes and dimensional stability such as improved strength and stiffness, shock-resistance, flame retardant resistance, look. After the cast with gelling or before solidifying taking place separating of heavier filler.Be included in vibration strong or weak after amount of filler, mixture viscosity, mixing temperature and the cast of initial blend compositions determines and controls amount of filler in each layer by different processing variables. The amount of heavier filler in surface layer is 10-80%, is preferably 30-60%, and the amount in foam layer is 5~60%, is preferably 10~30%.
Embodiment 2
" wet " casting method to wet
Prepare two kinds of mixtures so that can sequentially they be cast in the mould.Mixture (A) is by filler, and for example hibbsite is scattered in by containing the slurries of about 20% polymethylmethacrylate in methacrylic acid monomer, forms in the liquid phase of forming with initiator. Can add other monomer to adjust the viscosity of mixture. Can also add painted pigment and/or particle design and color to obtain wishing.A kind of typical composition as mixture (A) comprises:
Weight %
Methyl methacrylate 4.0
Paste resin 36.0
Hibbsite 42.0
Painted particle (30~150 orders, USS sieve=100~600 μ m) 18.0
100.0
Mixture (B) is by filler, light weight normally, for example hollow glass microballoon and lime carbonate, be scattered in by contain about 20% polymethylmethacrylate in methacrylic acid monomer slurries and the liquid phase formed of initiator in form. Can add other monomer to adjust casting viscosity.A kind of typical composition as mixture (B) comprises:
Weight %
Methyl methacrylate 44.0
Slurries 11.0
Hibbsite 37.0 " Scotchlite " K-1 glass envelope (20~120 μ m, intermediate value 70 μ m, proportion 0.125) 8.0
100.0
Mixture (A) vacuumizes to remove air, then it is poured in the mould and forms the layer that thickness is 0.5cm in the bottom of mould.Equally the mixture (B) that vacuumizes is watered then in the mould by mixture (A) forms still for above the wet uncured layer still, with the thick second layer of formation 1.4cm.After this structure had been solidified, the mixture of polymerized form (A) was a surface layer and mixture (B) is the foam bottom.Though seem two discrete layers, between this is two-layer, there is not the interface. They are one, and polymeric matrix is successive in entire structure.
