At present, the main method for producing pellets in China adopts a belt roasting machine, and has high requirement on the stability of raw materials in the production process. This is because the whole process of firing (drying, preheating, firing, cooling) is performed on the same equipment, and it is impossible to change the residence time of pellets in each stage by adjusting the machine speed. Such frequent switching is impractical in actual production unless the upper hood section and bellows configuration are changed. Therefore, the construction of the belt roasting machine is generally suitable for large mining companies and steel plants with relatively stable raw material supply for a long time, and has certain limitation, which is a technical problem brought by using the belt roasting machine in the steel smelting industry.
