本发明公开了一种液晶组合物,其包含一种或多种式I所示的化合物、一种或多种式II所示的化合物和一种或多种式III所示的化合物:

技术领域
本发明涉及液晶显示领域。更具体地,涉及一种液晶组合物以及包含该液晶组合物的显示元件或液晶显示器。
背景技术
薄膜晶体管液晶显示器(TFT-LCD)经历了漫长的基础研究阶段,在实现大生产、商业化之后,以其轻薄、环保、高性能等优点已经成为LCD应用中的主流产品:无论是小尺寸的手机屏、还是大尺寸的笔记本电脑(Notebook PC)或监视器(Monitor),以及大型化的液晶电视(LCD-TV),到处可见TFT-LCD的应用。
早期商用的TFT-LCD产品基本采用了TN显示模式,其最大问题是视角窄。随着产品尺寸的增加,特别是在TV领域的应用,具有广视野角特点的IPS显示模式、VA显示模式依次被开发出来并加以应用,尤其是基于VA显示模式的改进,分别先后在各大公司得到了突破性的发展,这主要取决于VA模式本身所具有的宽视野角、高对比度和无需摩擦配向等优势,再有就是,VA模式显示的对比度对液晶的光学各向异性(△n)、液晶盒的厚度(d)和入射光的波长(λ)依赖度较小,必将使得VA这种模式成为极具前景的显示技术。
但是,VA模式等的有源矩阵寻址方式的显示元件所用的液晶介质,本身并不完美,例如残像水平要明显差于正介电各向异性的显示元件,响应时间比较慢,驱动电压比较高等缺点。此时,一些新型的VA显示技术悄然而生:像PSVA技术即实现了MVA/PVA类似的广视野角显示模式,也简化了CF工艺,从而降低CF成本的同时,提高了开口率,还可以获得更高的亮度,进而获得更高的对比度。此外,由于整面的液晶都有预倾角,没有多米诺延迟现象,在保持同样的驱动电压下还可以获得更快的响应时间,残像水平也不会受到影响,但是由于像素中Fine Slit密集分布电极,故如果电极宽度不能均匀分布,很容易出现显示不均的问题。像UVVA技术,在保持PSVA技术优势的基础上,由于在TFT侧没有Slit结构,出现像素电极宽度不均引起的显示不均问题还得到了改进。
虽然显示器件在不断的发展,但是人们还要一直致力于研究新的液晶组合物,以使得液晶介质及其应用于显示器件的性能如旋转粘度、清亮点、低温稳定性、显示不良控制、折射率尤其是响应速度等之间相互协调和改善各种显示不良。
发明内容
本发明的第一个目的在于提供一种液晶组合物,该液晶组合物兼具较低的旋转粘度、较好的光电性能、较高的清亮点、良好的低温性能,较少发生显示不良。
本发明的第二个目的在于提供一种包含该液晶组合物的液晶显示元器件。
为达到上述第一个目的,本发明采用下述技术方案:
一种液晶组合物,包含一种或多种式I所示的化合物、一种或多种式II所示的化合物和一种或多种式III所示的化合物:
其中:
R1、R2、R3、R4、R5各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基,并且R3、R4、R5所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2能被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基取代;
Z1、Z2各自独立地表示单键、-CH2CH2-或-CH2O-;
Z3表示单键、-CH2CH2-、-CH2O-、-CH2-、-COO-中的一种;
M表示环戊基、环丙基、环丁基、环庚基中的一种;
表示1,4-亚苯基或1,4-亚环己基;
表示1,4-亚苯基或1,4-亚环己基;
表示1,4-亚苯基、1,4-亚环己基、氟代的1,4-亚苯基和1,4-亚环己烯基中的一种;
表示1,4-亚苯基、1,4-亚环己基、氟代的1,4-亚苯基和1,4-亚环己烯基中的一种;
m、n各自独立地表示0、1或2。
优选地,所述一种或多种式I所示的化合物选自下述式I-1至I-17所示的化合物的一种或多种:
其中,上述式I所示的化合物具有较大的负的介电各向异性,达到-10以上,而且旋转粘度低,液晶混合物中用于提升液晶的介电各向异性同时降低旋转粘度,降低阈值电压。
优选地,所述一种或多种式II所示的化合物选自下述式II-1至II-13所示的化合物的一种或多种:

R3、R4各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基,并且R3、R4所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2能被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基取代。
其中,式II所示的化合物具有较大的负的介电各向异性,液晶混合物中主要用于提升液晶的介电各向异性,降低阈值电压。
优选地,所述一种或多种式III所示的化合物选自下述式III-1至III-8所示的化合物的一种或多种:

R51表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基。
式III所示的化合物具有较大的负的介电各向异性,达到-10以上,而且旋转粘度低,液晶混合物中用于提升液晶的介电各向异性同时降低旋转粘度,降低阈值电压。
优选地,所述液晶组合物中,所述式I所示的化合物的总质量含量为10-70%,所述式II所示的化合物的总质量含量为10-70%,所述式III所示的化合物的总质量含量为1-20%。其中,式II所示的化合物粘度较高,当其添加量占液晶组合物质量总含量的10-60%时,可较好的防止组合物体系粘度过高。
优选地,所述液晶组合物为负性液晶组合物,其还包含一种或多种式IV所示的化合物:
其中:
R6、R7各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基,并且R5、R6所示基团中任意一个或多个CH2能被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基替代;
W表示O、S或-CH2O-。
更优选地,所述式IV所示的化合物选自下述式IV-1至IV-9所示的化合物中的一种:

R61、R71各自独立的表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基。
上述式IV所示的化合物具有较大的负的介电各向异性,有利于降低器件的驱动电压。
优选地,所述液晶组合物为负性液晶组合物,还包含一种或多种式V所示的化合物:

R8、R9各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基,并且R9、R8所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2可以被环丙基取代;
各自独立地表示1,4-亚苯基、氟代1,4-亚苯基、1,4-亚环己基或1,4-亚环己烯基。
更优选地,所述式V所示的化合物选自下述式V-1至V-7所示的化合物中的一种:

R81表示碳原子数为1-6的烷基;R82表示碳原子数为1-6的烷氧基;R91表示碳原子数为2-6的烷基;R92表示碳原子数为2-6的烯基。
上述式V所示的化合物具有高的清亮点,粘度较低,有利于提升液晶的工作温度范围。
其中,当上述式V所示的化合物端链为烯基R92时,液晶具有更高的清亮点与弹性常数,尤其是K33,有利于提升液晶的参数性能。
优选地,所述液晶组合物为负性液晶组合物,还包含一种或多种式VI所示的化合物:

R11、R10各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基;
表示1,4-亚苯基、1,4-亚环己基或1,4-亚环己烯基。
需要说明,上述式VI中,该结构中的三个(F)可各自独立地表示H或F。
更优选地,所述式VI所示的化合物选自下述式VI-1至VI-4所示的化合物中的一种:

R101、R111各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-6的烷基。
优选地,本发明提供的液晶化合物中还可以加入各种功能的掺杂剂,掺杂剂含量优选在0.01-1wt%之间。更优选地,所述掺杂剂主要为抗氧化剂、光稳定剂等。
优选地,所述抗氧化剂选自下述式中的一种或多种:
所述光稳定剂为
其中,S表示1-10的整数。
本发明还保护包含上述液晶组合物的液晶显示元器件。
可以理解,所述液晶显示元器件包括液晶显示元件和液晶显示器件。液晶显示元件可为有源矩阵寻址液晶显示元件或无源矩阵显示元件;液晶显示器件可为有源矩阵寻址液晶显示器或无源矩阵显示器。
优选地,所述有源矩阵寻址液晶显示元件为VA-TFT或IPS-TFT液晶显示元件。
优选地,所述有源矩阵寻址液晶显示元件为VA-TFT或IPS-TFT液晶显示元件。
本发明的有益效果如下:
本发明提供的液晶组合物具有粘度低、快速响应、宽的工作温度范围、低发生的显示不良等优点。可很好的用于液晶显示元器件中,尤其适用于中小尺寸的显示器或TV应用的IPS、VA、FFS液晶组合物。
具体实施方式
为了更清楚地说明本发明,下面结合优选实施例对本发明做进一步的说明。本领域技术人员应当理解,下面所具体描述的内容是说明性的而非限制性的,不应以此限制本发明的保护范围。
本说明书中,如无特殊说明,百分比均是指重量百分比,温度为摄氏度(℃),其他符号的具体意义及测试条件如下:
Cp表示液晶清亮点(℃),DSC定量法测试;
S-N表示液晶的晶态到向列相的熔点(℃);
Δn表示光学各向异性,no为寻常光的折射率,ne为非寻常光的折射率,测试条件为25±2℃,589nm,阿贝折射仪测试;
Δε表示介电各向异性,Δε=ε,其中,ε为平行于分子轴的介电常数,ε为垂直于分子轴的介电常数,测试条件为25±0.5℃,20微米平行盒,INSTEC:ALCT-IR1测试;
γ1表示旋转粘度(mPa·s),测试条件为25±0.5℃,20微米平行盒,INSTEC:ALCT-IR1测试;
ρ表示电阻率(Ω·cm),测试条件为25±2℃,测试仪器为TOYO SR6517高阻仪和LE-21液体电极。
VHR表示电压保持率(%),测试条件为20±2℃、电压为±5V、脉冲宽度为10ms、电压保持时间16.7ms。测试设备为TOYO Model6254液晶性能综合测试仪。
τ表示响应时间(ms),的测试仪器为DMS-501,测试条件为25±0.5℃,测试盒为3.3微米IPS测试盒,电极间距和电极宽度均为10微米,摩擦方向与电极夹角为10°。
本发明实施例液晶单体结构用代码表示,液晶环结构、端基、连接基团的代码表示方法见下表1、表2。

举例:
本发明实施方式中,液晶组合物的制备的方法包括:将各类别单体按照设计好的比例称量,于烧杯中一起搅拌下加热至清亮点,保持30分钟,将其冷却至室温,再在测试条件下测试各种参数。
以下采用以下具体实施例来对本发明进行说明。
实施例1
液晶组合物的配方及相应的性能如下表3所示。

实施例1的中10%式Ⅲ化合物C(5)O-W-O4替换为现有类似化合物(2O-W-O4)得到对比例1混合物,清亮点CP下降为53℃,Δε上升为-4.4。

实施例1的中10%式Ⅲ化合物C(5)O-W-O4替换为现有类似化合物(2O-Y-O4)得到对比例1混合物,清亮点CP下降为50℃,Δε上升为-4.2。

从上数各实施例中可看出,本发明液晶混合物具有介电各向异性较大,较高的清亮点,适中的折射率,较低的旋转粘度,非常适用于IPS、VA模式的液晶显示器件。
显然,本发明的上述实施例仅仅是为清楚地说明本发明所作的举例,而并非是对本发明的实施方式的限定,对于所属领域的普通技术人员来说,在上述说明的基础上还可以做出其它不同形式的变化或变动,这里无法对所有的实施方式予以穷举,凡是属于本发明的技术方案所引伸出的显而易见的变化或变动仍处于本发明的保护范围之列。

Claims (10)

1.一种液晶组合物,其特征在于,包含一种或多种式I所示的化合物、一种或多种式II所示的化合物和一种或多种式III所示的化合物:

R1、R2、R3、R4、R5各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基,并且R3、R4、R5所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2能被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基取代;
Z1、Z2各自独立地表示单键、-CH2CH2-或-CH2O-;
Z3表示单键、-CH2CH2-、-CH2O-、-CH2-、-COO-中的一种;
M表示环戊基、环丙基、环丁基、环庚基中的一种;
表示1,4-亚苯基或1,4-亚环己基;
表示1,4-亚苯基或1,4-亚环己基;

3.根据权利要求1所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述液晶组合物中,所述式I所示的化合物的总质量含量为10-70%,所述式II所示的化合物的总质量含量为10-70%,所述式III所示的化合物的总质量含量为1-20%。
4.根据权利要求1所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述液晶组合物为负性液晶组合物,其还包含一种或多种式IV所示的化合物:

R6、R7各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基,并且R5、R6所示基团中任意一个或多个CH2能被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基替代;
W表示O、S或-CH2O-。
5.根据权利要求1所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述液晶组合物为负性液晶组合物,还包含一种或多种式V所示的化合物:

R8、R9各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基,并且R9、R8所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2可以被环丙基取代;
各自独立地表示1,4-亚苯基、氟代1,4-亚苯基、1,4-亚环己基或1,4-亚环己烯基。
6.根据权利要求1所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述液晶组合物为负性液晶组合物,还包含一种或多种式VI所示的化合物:

8.根据权利要求5所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述式V所示的化合物选自下述式V-1至V-7所示的化合物中的一种:
