Abstract

The present invention relates to a fastening system for fixing a household appliance in a piece of furniture. The fastening system comprises at least one fastening element (10). The fastening element (10) is formed as an L-shaped profile part and comprises a long portion (14) and a short portion (16). The long part (14) of the fastening element (10) can be fixed or fixed on the inner side of a wall (30) of the piece of furniture, while the short part (16) of the fastening element (10) can be arranged or arranged in front of the front side of said wall (30) of the piece of furniture. The fastening element (10) comprises a snap mechanism (20) arranged on or in front of the short portion (16) of the fastening element (10). The snap mechanism (20) is engaged or engageable with a front frame (24) of the household appliance.

Description

Fastening system for fixing an electric household appliance in a piece of furniture

The present invention relates to a fastening system for fixing a household appliance in a piece of furniture. In particular, the present invention relates to a fastening system for fixing a front frame of a cooking oven in kitchen furniture. Further, the present invention relates to a household appliance insertable into a piece of furniture, in particular a cooking oven.

The household appliances are usually arranged inside furniture, wherein the furniture is slightly larger than the household appliance. Generally, the household appliance is fastened by fixing a front frame of the household appliance to a front side of a sidewall of the furniture. Thereby, one or more screws, plastic spacers and/or other fixing elements penetrate the front frame of the household appliance and the front side of the side walls of the furniture.

However, screws or other fixing elements may damage the front frame of the household appliance. Further, screws, plastic spacers and/or other fixing elements are visible on the front frame of the household appliance, which is disadvantageous in view of aesthetics.

The object of the present invention is to provide a fastening system for fixing a household appliance in a piece of furniture, which avoids the damage of the fixing element to the front frame of the household appliance.

This object is achieved by a fastening system for fixing a household appliance in a piece of furniture according to claim 1.

According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a fastening system for securing a household appliance in a piece of furniture, wherein:

the fastening system comprises at least one fastening element,

the fastening element is formed as an L-profile part and comprises a long part and a short part,

the long part of the fastening element can be fixed or fixed on the inner side of the wall of the furniture, while the short part of the fastening element can be arranged or arranged in front of the front side of said wall of the furniture,

the fastening element comprises a snap-in mechanism arranged on or in front of a short portion of said fastening element, and

the snap mechanism is engaged or engageable with a front frame of the household appliance.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, there is provided a fastening system for securing a household appliance in a piece of furniture:

comprising at least one fastening element adapted to be fastened to both said furniture and said household appliance without the aid of any mechanical fixing means, such as any screw or nail, which requires the use of any manual tool, such as a drill, a screwdriver, or a hammer.

In a preferred embodiment of said second aspect of the invention, the fastening system comprises only fastening elements adapted to be fastened to both said furniture and said household appliance without the aid of any mechanical fixing means, such as any screw or nail, which requires the use of any manual tool, such as a drill, a screwdriver, or a hammer.

A further preferred embodiment of the second aspect of the invention may comprise a fastening system according to the first aspect of the invention.

The core of the invention is that the front frame of the household appliance can be fixed to the piece of furniture by means of a snap mechanism, wherein the snap mechanism is arranged between the front side of the wall of the piece of furniture and the front frame. The screws and other fixing elements are not visible at least at the front side of the front frame. The fastening system allows to quickly mount the household appliance in the piece of furniture. The front frame of the household appliance is not damaged by screws or other fixing elements.

For example, the fastening element comprises at least one, preferably two screw holes for fixing the long part of the fastening element on the inner side of the wall. The screw holes and therefore the screws are not visible when the household appliance is inserted into the piece of furniture.

Alternatively, in an embodiment of the second aspect of the invention, the fastening element may comprise a surface adapted to be positioned on said inner side of a wall of the furniture and fixed to said wall by an adhesive. The adhesive may be, for example, a strip of tape preferably comprising two opposing adhesive faces. The tape strip may have a shape corresponding to said surface of the fastening element, said surface being adapted to be positioned on the inner side of a wall of the furniture.

Further, the short portion of the fastening element may be alignable or aligned on the front side of the wall of the furniture, wherein preferably the fastening element may be aligned or aligned at the edge between the front side and the inner side of the wall.

Furthermore, the snap mechanism may comprise at least one snap hook engaging or engageable with a cut-out or undercut of the front frame of the household appliance, wherein preferably said snap hook is carried by at least one spring element.

Further, the fastening element may comprise a recess arranged for receiving a protrusion on the rear side of the front frame of the household appliance, wherein preferably said recess is formed in a long part of said fastening element and is open towards the front side and towards the interior of the furniture when the fastening element is mounted on the side wall of the furniture.

Furthermore, an elongated tongue-shaped element may be formed within the recess of the fastening element, wherein the tongue-shaped element acts as a spring and is provided for supporting a protrusion on the rear side of the front frame of the household appliance, and wherein preferably the tongue-shaped element extends forward from a rear wall of said recess.

Preferably, the fastening element is made of plastic. Fastening elements made of plastic allow a low-cost production.

Further, the present invention relates to a household appliance, in particular a cooking oven, inserted or insertable in a piece of furniture, comprising a front frame, wherein the household appliance comprises the above-mentioned fastening system.

Preferably, the front frame of the household appliance is engaged or engageable with at least one fastening element.

In particular, the front frame comprises at least one cut-out engaging or engageable with a snap hook of the snap mechanism of the fastening element, wherein said cut-out is arranged on the outer side of the front frame.

Alternatively or additionally, the front frame comprises at least one undercut which engages or can engage with a snap hook of the snap mechanism of the fastening element, wherein said undercut is arranged on the rear side of the front frame.

Preferably, at least two cut-outs and/or undercuts are arranged on opposite sides of the front frame.

Fig. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of a fastening element 10 of a fastening system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. A fastening system is provided for securing a household appliance in a piece of furniture. In the present example, the fastening element 10 is attached to a side wall 30 of the furniture by means of a screw 12, preferably by means of two screws 12. The fastening element 10 may also be attached to a top or bottom wall of a piece of furniture.

The fastening element 10 is formed as a substantially L-shaped profile part comprising a long part 14 and a short part 16. Preferably, the long portion 14 and the short portion 16 of the fastening element 10 form a right angle. The long portion 14 of the fastening element 10 is aligned on the inner side 32 of the side wall 30 of the furniture, while the short portion 16 of the fastening element 10 is aligned on the front side 34 of the side wall 30 of the furniture. Preferably, the fastening element 10 is aligned on a vertical edge between the inner side 32 and the front side 34 of the side wall 30 of the furniture. The inner side 32 of the side wall 30 faces the interior of the furniture. The fastening element 10 is provided for fixing the front frame 24 of the household appliance in front of the front side 34 of the side wall 30 of the furniture. Preferably, the household appliance is fastened to the furniture by fixing the front frame 24 of the household appliance to the side walls 30, the top wall and/or the bottom wall of the furniture.

The fastening element 10 comprises a recess 18 formed in the long portion 14 of said fastening element 10. When the fastening element 10 is mounted on the side wall 30 of the piece of furniture, the recess 18 is open towards the front side and towards the interior of the piece of furniture. The recess 18 is provided for receiving a projection on the rear side of a front frame 24 of the domestic appliance. The recess 18 allows the position of the household appliance to be aligned with the furniture.

An elongated tongue element 36 is formed in the recess 18 of the fastening element 10. A tongue member 36 extends forwardly from the rear wall of the recess 18. The open end of the tongue-shaped element 36 is arranged beside the short portion 16 of the fastening element 10. The tongue element 36 acts as a spring. The tongue-shaped member 36 is provided for supporting a protrusion formed on the rear side of the front frame 24 of the electric home appliance. Tongue member 36 allows or facilitates front frame 24 to be held tightly by fastening member 10.

The fastening element 10 comprises a snap mechanism 20 formed on the short portion 16 of said fastening element 10. The snap mechanism 20 forms the front of the short portion 16 of the fastening element 10. The catch mechanism 20 comprises a catch hook 22 which extends laterally outwards and away from the interior of the furniture. In other words, the snap hook 22 extends radially outwards due to the front opening of the furniture. The snap hook 22 may engage with a recess or undercut of a front frame 24 of the household appliance. Further, the fastening element 10 may comprise at least one spring element, wherein the snap hook 22 is carried by said spring element.

In the present example, the fastening element 10 is made of plastic. Further, the fastening element 10 may be made of metal.

Fig. 2 shows a schematic sectional top view of a fastening element 10 of the fastening system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. In fig. 2, the household appliance is arranged in a piece of furniture. In the present example, the household appliance is a cooking oven.

The household appliance includes a front frame 24. The front frame 24 is arranged in front of the front side 34 of the side wall 30 of the furniture. The front frame 24 encloses a front opening of a cavity of the household appliance. In fig. 2, the front opening is closed by a front door 28.

The front frame 24 is fixed on the front side 34 of the side wall 30 of the furniture by means of the fastening element 10, preferably by means of further fastening elements 10. The long portion 14 of the fastening element 10 is aligned on the inner side 32 of the side wall 30 of the furniture, while the short portion 16 of the fastening element 10 is aligned on the front side 34 of the side wall 30 of the furniture. Preferably, the fastening element 10 is aligned on a vertical edge between the inner side 32 and the front side 34 of the side wall 30 of the furniture. The fastening element 10 is fixed on the inner side 32 of the side wall 30 by at least one screw 12, preferably by two screws 12, which penetrate the long part 14 of the fastening element 10 and the side wall 30.

The front frame 24 of the household appliance is snapped with the fastening element 10. The front frame 24 comprises at least one cut-out 26 arranged on the outer side of said front frame 24. The cutout 26 of the front frame 24 engages with the snap hook 22 of the snap mechanism 20 of the fastening element 10.

Alternatively or additionally to the cut-out 26, the front frame 24 may comprise at least one undercut arranged at its rear side. The undercut is not shown in fig. 2. The undercut of the front frame 24 may engage with the snap hook 22 of the snap mechanism 20 of the fastening element 10.

The fastening system according to the invention allows to quickly mount the household appliance in the piece of furniture. The front frame 24 of the household appliance is not damaged by screws or other fixing elements. Neither screws nor other fixing elements are visible at the front side of the front frame 24. Preferably, as in the embodiment shown in fig. 2, the fastening element 10 can be subsequently disengaged from the household appliance in order to remove the household appliance from the piece of furniture again. More particularly, the user can push the snap hook 22 inwards, for example with his fingers, so as to disengage from the cut 26 of the front frame 24 of the household appliance. If two fastening elements 10 have been used on either side of the front frame 24, the user has to push in the snap hooks 22 of the two fastening elements before the household appliance can be released and removed.

Fig. 3 shows a view of another embodiment of the fastening element 10 of the present invention, showing a planar surface 40 adapted to be positioned on the inside of a wall 30 of a piece of furniture (not shown) for securing the fastening element 10 to the wall 30. Separately from fig. 1, the embodiment of the fastening element 10 shown in fig. 3 does not comprise any through-holes for the screws 12, which are used to fix the fastening element 10 to the side wall 30. Alternatively, the planar surface 40 of the fastening element 10 shown in fig. 3 is adapted to be secured to the side wall 30 using a suitable adhesive. One example of a suitable adhesive is tape 42 shown in fig. 4 having opposing adhesive faces (not shown) adapted to be securely affixed to surface 40 and sidewall 30, respectively, of fastening element 10. An example of tape 42 has a shape that corresponds to the shape of surface 40 of fastening element 10. The tape may have other shapes as long as its area matches the area of the surface 40 to a sufficient extent to adapt the desired fixation of the fastening element 10 to the side wall 30. Instead of using adhesive tape, the surface 40 may be directly covered by a suitable adhesive layer (not shown). Preferably, the adhesive layer may be covered by a removable protective sheet (not shown) when delivered to the user, as is known in the art for many articles including protective adhesive layers such as for adhesive tapes, adhesive bathroom hooks, and the like.

The embodiment of the fastening element 10 of the invention shown in fig. 3 and the adhesive tape 42 shown in fig. 4 can be used for fixing a household appliance in furniture, for example a kitchen furniture cabinet, without the aid of any mechanical fixing means, such as screws 12, as schematically indicated in fig. 12. Thus, the embodiment shown in fig. 3 and 4 can be used in a fastening system according to the invention, which allows the user to fix the household appliance in the piece of furniture without the need to drill any screw holes in the piece of furniture and without the need to fasten the corresponding screws 12 or use any nails or the like. The user also does not need to operate any hand tools such as drills, screwdrivers, hammers, etc. Also, the fastening system of the present invention also allows for later release of the household appliance, as already described above with reference to the embodiment of fig. 2.

Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of the fastening element 10 of the invention, which allows to compensate any discrepancy with the standard dimensions of furniture in order to accommodate household appliances. Kitchen furniture comprises a standard niche for accommodating household appliances. However, since the sidewall 30 used is thinner than that required according to the standard, the tolerance frequently occurs. For example, although the standard side wall 30 usually has a thickness of 20mm, the side walls usually used have a thickness of only 18.5mm or even 16mm, without any corresponding modification of the distance between the side walls defining the niche for the installation of the household appliance.

The fastening element 10 in fig. 5 comprises a first thin spacer 50 having a first predetermined thickness and a second thicker spacer 52 having a second thickness selected to be thicker than the first spacer 50. The

Claims

1. A fastening system for fixing a household appliance in a piece of furniture, wherein:

the fastening system comprises at least one fastening element (10),

the fastening element (10) is formed as an L-shaped profile part and comprises a long portion (14) and a short portion (16),

-the long part (14) of the fastening element (10) can be fixed or fixed on the inner side of a wall (30) of the furniture, while the short part (16) of the fastening element (10) can be arranged or arranged in front of the front side of said wall (30) of the furniture,

the fastening element (10) comprises a snap mechanism (20) arranged on or in front of the short portion (16) of the fastening element (10),

6. The fastening system of claim 5, wherein the fastener is a single fastener,

said tape strip (42) having a shape corresponding to said surface (40) of the fastening element (10), said surface being adapted to be positioned on the inside of a wall (30) of the furniture.

7. The fastening system according to claim 1, wherein the at least one fastening element is adapted to be fastened to both said furniture and said household appliance without the aid of any mechanical fixing means requiring the use of any manual tool.

8. The fastening system according to claim 1, wherein it comprises only fastening elements adapted to be fastened to both said furniture and said household appliance without the aid of any mechanical fixing means requiring the use of any manual tool.

9. Fastening system according to claim 7 or 8, wherein the mechanical fastening means is a screw (12) or a nail and the hand tool is a drill, a screwdriver or a hammer.

10. The fastening system of any one of claims 1-8,
