Description

Laundry care appliance with a fluid coupling device
Technical Field
The invention relates to a laundry care appliance having a fluid coupling device.
Background
Conventional laundry care appliances may comprise a removable storage container for receiving a fluid, for example a liquid laundry care substance or water. Furthermore, the removable storage container can be fluidically connected to the metering device. The dosing device can be inserted into a storage container of the laundry care appliance and is designed to deliver the received fluid to the laundry care appliance during a washing process. In order to ensure the operation of the metering device, it is important to identify a low filling level of the fluid in the removable storage container in time. When a user of the household appliance is quickly alerted by the laundry care appliance that the fluid in the removable storage container is at a low fill level, the user refills the removable storage container with fluid. This prevents the fluid in the detachable reservoir from being completely consumed and prevents the detachable reservoir from operating without fluid.
EP 2508667 a1 describes a washing machine having a detergent container for receiving a detergent, wherein the washing machine is designed to automatically deliver the detergent to a lye container of the washing machine.
Publication DE 102014220354 a1 describes a household appliance with a removable storage container.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to provide a laundry care appliance in which an effective determination of the fill level of the fluid received in a removable storage container of a dosing device can be achieved.
According to one aspect of the invention, this object is achieved by a laundry care appliance having a removable storage container having a container interior for receiving a fluid, wherein the removable storage container comprises a movable closing body for closing an opening in the removable storage container, and a fluid coupling device for supplying the fluid from the removable storage container through the opening into a dosing device of the laundry care appliance, wherein the fluid coupling device is designed to move the movable closing body from a first position for closing the opening into a second position for opening the opening, wherein the fluid coupling device has a first electrode and a second electrode, wherein the first and second electrodes are in contact with the container interior in the closed second position of the movable storage container, wherein in the second position of the movable closing body a voltage can be applied to the first and second electrodes, wherein the laundry care appliance has a control device which is electrically connected to the first and second electrodes and is designed to determine the fill level of the fluid in the removable storage container as a function of a change in the current induced by the voltage.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that an effective fluid-technical connection between the removable reservoir and the metering device can be ensured by the fluid coupling device, and the fill level of the fluid in the removable reservoir can be determined by the control device connected to the two electrodes.
In conventional laundry care appliances with automatic dosing, the laundry care appliance has a dosing device in which a fluid, for example a laundry care substance, is received. The metering device is designed to transport the laundry care substance from a removable storage container, which is fluidically connected to the metering device, to the laundry care appliance. In this case, fluid coupling devices are used in conventional laundry care appliances, which fluidically connect the removable storage container to the dosing device in an effective manner in order to achieve a transfer of the washing liquid from the removable storage container into the dosing device.
In the laundry care appliance according to the invention, the fluid coupling device not only achieves an effective fluid-technical connection between the removable storage container and the dosing device, but also an effective electronic communication between the dosing device and the removable storage container. For this purpose, two electrodes are located in the fluid coupling device. When the fluid coupling device is fluidically connected to the removable storage container, the fluid coupling device then moves the movable closing body from the first position for closing the opening into the second position for opening the opening. Thereby, fluid may be transferred from the detachable storage container to the dosing device via the fluid coupling device. In the second position of the movable closing body, the two electrodes are in contact with the container interior, in particular with the fluid in the container interior. In the second position of the movable closing body, a voltage can be applied to the two electrodes. When the two electrodes are in contact with the fluid in the container interior chamber, a current flow between the two electrodes is achieved by a voltage applied to the electrodes based on the conductive properties of the fluid. Since the two electrodes of the fluid coupling device, which are fluidically connected to the removable reservoir, are arranged at a defined height at the removable reservoir, the control device can know when an electrical current flowing through the fluid is present that the filling level of the fluid in the removable reservoir is arranged above the electrodes. On the other hand, the control device also recognizes that the fill level of the fluid in the detachable reservoir has fallen below the level of the two electrodes when the current flowing through the fluid has fallen, so that it can recognize that the fill level of the fluid in the detachable reservoir has fallen.
The fluid coupling device thus combines an effective fluid-technical connection between the removable storage container and the dosing device with an advantageous filling level detection of the fluid in the removable storage container. An additional electronic system for detecting the filling level of the fluid in the removable storage container can thereby be dispensed with. Furthermore, the insertion of the voltage-carrying element into the removable storage container can be dispensed with, as a result of which galvanic isolation is not necessary and costs can be saved.
By laundry care appliance is understood an appliance for laundry care, for example a washing machine or a laundry dryer. The laundry care appliance is understood to be, in particular, a household laundry care appliance. That is to say, the laundry care appliance is used within the framework of a housekeeping service and treats household-normal amounts of laundry.
In an advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the control device is designed to detect the empty level of the fluid in the detachable storage container when the current induced by the voltage drops.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that by knowing the reduced current by the control device, it can be recognized whether an empty level of fluid in the detachable storage container is present. If the filling level of the fluid in the removable storage container is below one of the two electrodes of the fluid coupling device, then this electrode is no longer in contact with the fluid but rather with the air in the container interior. Due to the electrically insulating properties of the air in the interior of the container, no current can be generated between the two electrodes, and the current induced by the voltage between the two electrodes drops. The control device can thus be informed of the empty level of the fluid in the removable storage container.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the second electrode is arranged at the opening in the second position of the movable closing body, in order to be in contact with the container interior in the second position of the movable closing body.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the positioning of the second electrode at the opening of the removable reservoir ensures that the second electrode comes into contact with the fluid when the fluid is conveyed from the removable reservoir through the opening and through the fluid coupling device to the dosing device. In this way, the two electrodes are brought into electrically conductive contact with the fluid in the case of a fluidic connection of the fluid coupling device to the removable reservoir, and the control device can determine the fill level of the fluid in the removable reservoir from the change in the current induced by the voltage.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the first electrode is arranged on the outer side or on the upper side of the fluid coupling device in order to be in contact with the container interior in the second position of the movable closing body.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the positioning of the first electrode on the outside or on the upper side of the fluid coupling device ensures that the first electrode is effectively in contact with the container interior in the second position of the movable closing body. It can thereby be ensured that an effective current flow through the fluid is achieved by means of the first electrode arranged on the outer side or on the upper side of the fluid coupling device at a sufficient filling height of the fluid in the removable reservoir.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the removable storage container has a further opening, wherein the further opening can be closed in a first position and can be opened in a second position by means of the movable closing body, wherein the first electrode is arranged at the further opening in the second position.
The positioning of the first electrode at the additional opening of the removable storage container thus achieves the technical advantage that the first electrode effectively comes into contact with the container interior in the second position of the movable closing body. By means of the first electrode arranged at the further opening, the control device can know the filling level of the fluid in the detachable reservoir from the change in the current through the first and second electrode.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the first electrode has a receiving region which is received in the fluid coupling device, and the first electrode has a line section, wherein the line section is arranged at the further opening in the second position of the movable closing body.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the first electrode can be fixed to the fluid coupling device by means of the receiving region. When the first electrode is positioned at the further opening, only the line section of the first electrode is arranged at the further opening in the second position of the movable closing body, so that not the entire first electrode is in contact with the container interior or the fluid in the container interior.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the fluid coupling device has a fluid channel, wherein the fluid channel has a channel opening on the end facing the removable storage container, wherein the channel opening is in fluidic contact with the opening of the removable storage container in the second position of the movable closing body, in order to convey fluid from the removable storage container through the opening, through the channel opening and through the fluid channel into the dosing device of the laundry care appliance.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that an effective fluidic guidance of the fluid from the removable storage container through the opening and through the channel opening into the fluid channel is achieved by the fluid channel of the fluid coupling device, and the fluid can be effectively conveyed through the fluid channel into the dosing device of the laundry care appliance.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the second electrode is arranged at least partially on the fluid channel so as to be in contact with the fluid which is conducted through the fluid channel.
A technical advantage thereby achieved is that at least part of the second electrode is arranged on the fluid channel by the second electrode such that at least part of the second electrode is in contact with the fluid when the fluid is guided through the fluid channel. Thus, the second electrode is in effective electrically conductive contact with the fluid in the fluid channel.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the movable closing body comprises a latching spring, wherein the latching spring can be pressed against the movable closing body in the second position by a spring force, wherein the movable closing body can be moved from the second position into the first position by relaxation of the latching spring.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the container interior of the removable storage container is effectively closed by the movable closing body. When the fluid coupling device is removed from the detachable storage container, the latching spring is relaxed and the movable closing body is moved from the second position into the first position. Thus, an effective closure of the detachable storage container is achieved with removal of the fluid coupling device.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the fluid coupling device has a pipe connection at the end facing away from the removable storage container, wherein the pipe connection can be inserted into a receiving section of a dosing device of the laundry care appliance in order to provide a fluid-tight fluidic connection between the fluid coupling device and the dosing device.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that an effective fluid-technical connection between the fluid coupling device and the metering device is achieved by means of the pipe connection.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the movable closing body is arranged in a cavity of the detachable storage container, wherein the fluid coupling device can be inserted into the cavity, wherein the opening or the further opening is arranged in a cavity wall of the cavity.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that an effective fluidic connection of the fluid coupling device to the detachable storage container is achieved via the cavity. The fluid coupling device can be inserted into the cavity, thereby moving the movable closing body located in the cavity from the first position into the second position. Thus, the opening in the cavity wall, which is closed in the first position of the movable closing body, is opened and fluid can be guided through the opening and through the fluid coupling means inserted into the cavity.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the fluid coupling device can be inserted into the cavity through the cavity opening, in particular through the circular cavity opening.
A technical advantage achieved thereby is that the fluid coupling device can be efficiently inserted into the cavity through the cavity opening. In this way, an effective connection between the removable storage container and the fluid coupling device can be established in order to advantageously conduct a fluid through the fluid coupling device.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the fluid coupling device has a sealing element, or the movable closing body has a further sealing element for fluid-tightly closing the cavity.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the hollow space can be closed in a fluid-tight manner by using a sealing element on the movable closing body or on the fluid coupling device. This prevents the fluid from escaping during the introduction of the fluid from the removable storage container into the metering device.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the cavity is arranged on the bottom side of the removable storage container.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the arrangement of the cavity on the bottom side of the removable storage container ensures that the fluid coupling device is also inserted into the cavity on the bottom side of the removable storage container. This makes it possible to effectively determine the filling level of the fluid in the detachable storage container on the bottom side of the detachable storage container, and thus to particularly effectively determine the empty level in the detachable storage container.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the laundry care appliance, the laundry care appliance has a display element for displaying a warning signal when the control device knows that the fluid level of the fluid in the detachable storage container is below a predetermined fluid threshold value.
The technical advantage achieved thereby is that the user can be prompted by the display element that the fluid in the removable storage container is low. The user can thus refill additional fluid into the removable storage container or stop the laundry care program of the laundry care appliance, as a result of which the laundry care appliance can be prevented from operating without fluid.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a schematic view of a washing machine representing a conventional laundry care appliance 100. The laundry care appliance 100 comprises a storage container 101, into which detergent or other fluid substances can be filled. The laundry care appliance 100 comprises a door 103 for loading the laundry care appliance 100 with laundry. Instead of filling the storage container 101 with the laundry care substance by hand, a metering device, which is not shown in fig. 1, can be inserted into the storage container 101. The metering device can automatically discharge fluid, in particular washing liquid, for example laundry care substance, into the storage container 101, as a result of which an automatic metering process can be achieved during a washing process of the laundry care appliance.
A schematic view of a fluid coupling device is shown in fig. 2. The fluid coupling device 105 is designed to fluidically connect a metering device, not shown in fig. 2, to a removable storage container, not shown in fig. 2. For this purpose, the fluid coupling device 105 has a coupling end face 107 which is in contact with the removable storage container, and for this purpose has a pipe connection 109, wherein the pipe connection 109 can be inserted into a receiving section of the metering device, which is not shown in fig. 2. A fluid channel 111 extends inside the fluid coupling device 105 from the coupling end side 107 to the pipe connection 109 in order to ensure an efficient guiding of the fluid from the removable storage container to the dosing device through the fluid channel 111.
In order to ensure a fluidic connection between the fluid coupling device 105 and the removable storage container, a sealing element 113, in particular a circumferential sealing ring, is arranged on the fluid coupling device 105.
The fluid coupling device 105 also has a first electrode 115 and a second electrode 117, which are arranged inside the fluid coupling device 105 and can be connected to a current source and a control device. The current source and the control means are not shown in fig. 2.
Fig. 3 shows the insertion of the fluid coupling device into a removable storage container in a laundry care appliance. The removable storage container 119 includes a storage container wall 121 and a storage container bottom 123 that define a boundary of a container interior chamber 125. The removable storage container 119 includes a cavity 127 bounded by a cavity wall 129. The cavity wall 129 has an opening 131 and a further opening 133. Fluid 135, in particular washing liquid, can flow from container interior 125 into cavity 127 through opening 131. In order to avoid uncontrolled escape of the fluid 135 from the cavity 127, a movable closing body 137 is arranged in the cavity 127. The movable closing body 137 comprises a further sealing element 139, in particular a circumferential sealing ring, in order to seal the movable closing body 137 fluid-tightly against the cavity wall 129. The movable closing body 137 further comprises a blocking spring 141 which can be pressed against the movable closing body 137 by a spring force. The cavity 127 is connected to an outer region 145 of the removable storage container 117 via a cavity opening 143, in particular via a circular cavity opening 143.
Fig. 3 shows the insertion of the fluid coupling device 105 shown in fig. 2 into a removable storage container 119 in the laundry care appliance 100. The fluid coupling device 105 is inserted with the coupling end face 107 through the cavity opening 143 into the cavity 127 of the removable storage container 119. The fluid coupling device 105 has a sealing element 113, in particular a circumferential sealing ring, in order to ensure an effective fluidic seal between the fluid coupling device 105 and the cavity 127 of the removable storage container 119. The fluid coupling device 105 has a fluid channel 111 for delivering a fluid 135 from a removable storage container 119 through the fluid channel 111 to a dosing device not shown in fig. 3. The fluid coupling device 105 has a pipe connection 109, wherein the pipe connection 109 is fluidically connected to the metering device.
As can be seen from fig. 3, the fluid-coupling device 105 is inserted into the cavity 127 of the removable storage container 119 along an insertion direction 147. The coupling end 107 is in contact with the movable closing body 137 in the first position. In the position shown in fig. 3, the locking spring 141 is relaxed and the opening 131 and the further opening 133 are closed by the movable closing body 137.
Uncontrolled escape of fluid from the container interior 125 of the removable storage container 119 is prevented by the closure of the opening 131 and the further opening 133 by the movable closing body 137.
In fig. 4, a schematic view of the removable storage container shown in fig. 3 is shown in the case of a fluid coupling device which has been inserted into a laundry care appliance.
As fig. 4 shows, movable closing body 137 is moved from the first position into the second position by a movement of fluid-coupling device 105 along insertion direction 147. When fluid-coupling device 105 is fully inserted into cavity 127, movable closing body 137 is in the second position. In the second position, the opening 131 cannot be closed by the movable closing body 137. The fluid 135 can thus be conveyed from the container interior 125 through the opening 131 and the fluid channel 111 of the fluid coupling device 105 to a metering device not shown in fig. 3. In the second position of the movable closing body 137, the further opening 133 is not completely closed by the movable closing body 137, but is at least partially open.
The first electrode 115 has a receiving region 149, which is received in the fluid coupling device 105, and a line section 151, which is arranged in the second position of the movable closing body 137 at the further opening 133. As a result, the first electrode 115, in particular the line section 151 of the first electrode 115, comes into contact with the fluid 135 in the container interior 125.
The second electrode 117 is arranged at least partially on the fluid channel 111 inside the fluid coupling device 105 and is in contact with the fluid 135 guided into the fluid channel 111 through the opening 131.
As is not shown in fig. 4, the first and second electrodes 115, 117 are connected to a voltage source in an electrically conductive manner, so that a voltage can be applied to the first and second electrodes 115, 117. When the fluid 135 is present in the container interior 125 at a sufficient fill level, then the first and second electrodes 115, 117 are in contact with the fluid 135 and cause an electrical current between the first electrode 115 and the second electrode 117 based on the conductive properties of the fluid 135. The first and second electrodes 115, 117 are furthermore connected to a control device which is not shown in fig. 4. The control device can know the filling level of the fluid in the removable storage container according to the amount of current passing through the fluid.
When the fluid 135 is discharged from the container interior 125 through the fluid channel 111 of the fluid coupling device 105, the fluid level in the container interior 125 drops, so that the first electrode 115 arranged at the further opening 133 comes into contact with air. The current flow between the first electrode 115 and the second electrode 117 is interrupted due to the non-conductive property of the air in contact with the first electrode 115. The control device connected to the first and second electrodes 115, 117 can in this case recognize a drop in the current between the first electrode 115 and the second electrode 117. The control device can thus recognize that the fill level of the fluid in the container interior 125 has fallen and indicate to the user of the laundry care appliance the empty level of the fluid 135 in the detachable storage container 119.
A mechanical and hydraulic connection between the removable storage container 119 and the dosing device is thereby provided by the fluid coupling device 105. An electrical connection between the removable reservoir 119 and the dosing device may furthermore be provided by means of the first and second electrodes 115, 117 integrated in the fluid coupling device 105. Here, fluid 135 in the removable reservoir 119 completes the electrical circuit between the first and second electrodes 115, 117. This allows the fluid 135 to be introduced and the fill level of the fluid 135 in the removable reservoir 119 to be known by means of a single fluid coupling device 105. An additional electrical system for detecting the filling level of the fluid 135 in the removable storage container 119 can therefore be dispensed with. Further, it is not necessary to mount a member with voltage on the detachable reservoir 119. In addition, galvanic isolation does not have to be ensured, whereby costs can be reduced.
All the features described and shown in connection with the individual embodiments of the invention can be provided in the subject-matter according to the invention in different combinations in order to achieve their advantageous effects simultaneously.
The scope of protection of the invention is given by the claims and is not limited to the features described in the description or shown in the drawings.
