Description
本发明涉及醇酸树脂用于消毒(disinfecting)目的的用途。本发明还涉及醇酸树脂在抗微生物表面、油漆(paint)或涂料中用于消毒目的的用途。
在许多工业和家庭工艺中,会产生待储存的废水或淡水用于以后的目的。由于基本上所有水源都提供非无菌水,所以在淡水中且特别是在废水中,在储存或加工过程中存在着微生物污染的风险。
在本领域中已知许多方法来避免在用于储存饮用水、废水、地表水或类似液体的容器中产生微生物污染物,特别是生物膜。此外,已知几种方法来避免表面的微生物污染,例如在医院或屠宰场。例如,通常通过热处理来清洁容器的表面,例如通过用热液体或气体冲洗表面或容器,例如用热水或蒸汽。此外,已知通过臭氧或含氯气体进行处理来用于对表面和容器进行消毒以及清洁和除去有机污染物。
还已知应用紫外(UV)辐射来对表面、容器且甚至液体进行消毒。还已知将某些物质(如二氧化钛)添加到液体中,或将二氧化钛施用到表面用于消毒或清洁目的。然而,这些表面和物质需要UV线辐射来激活二氧化钛的消毒功效。
此外,已知将银离子或铜离子施用到溶液中以减少微生物污染。
所有这些措施和程序都是不利的,因为它们浪费了大量的能量,需要高的设备成本和操作成本以便足够有效,或者必须使用相当昂贵的物质,如银离子或铜离子,后者在水和土壤污染方面具有其他缺点。此外,使用处理危险的物质,例如臭氧或含氯物质以及紫外辐射,是不利的,并且需要额外的安全措施。
在本领域中已知醇酸树脂用于几个目的的用途,例如,在合成涂料和油漆工业中。然而,为了在例如油漆中获得抗微生物效果,有必要添加特定的抗微生物剂。
例如US 4,039,494记载了使用具有等量有机锡化合物的醇酸树脂来防止真菌或微生物生长的油漆涂料,使得有机锡化学结合到树脂中。
WO 2010/04903A1公开了一种木材浸渍方法,其中通过压力差将乳液吸收到木材中。乳液含有由天然油获得的脂肪酸和多元醇的反应产物、乳化剂和水。以此方式,可以物理地改进木材的尺寸稳定性和水排斥性。此外据说另外还实现了良好的生物耐久性。在实施例中,树脂是在脂松香的存在下制备的,其已知具有抗微生物活性。因此,乳液含有杀生物化合物作为树脂内的内部杀生物剂。另外,脂肪酸与多元醇的反应产物不会产生醇酸树脂。
仍然需要其他化合物,其具有抗微生物活性且特别是抗菌活性,并且优选可以向基底的表面的至少一部分提供抗微生物性质且特别是抗菌性质。
出人意料地发现,单独的醇酸树脂而没有任何额外的外部或内部杀生物剂在施用到与液体接触、特别是与废水接触的表面时提供优异的抗微生物效率,并且由此避免表面和液体的微生物污染并且使得生物膜的形成减少。
因此,本发明涉及醇酸树脂用于向基底的表面的至少一部分提供抗微生物性质的用途。
申请人不希望受任何理论束缚,但相信醇酸树脂本身具有抗微生物且特别是抗菌效果,这是由于醇酸树脂聚合物的疏水脂肪酸侧链和例如接触配有醇酸树脂的表面的细菌的细胞膜之间的物理相互作用。因此,醇酸树脂的抗微生物效率仅基于物理或机械作用。
根据本发明的醇酸树脂以液体形式以及在其固化后提供这些效果。
所述目的的特征可以在于阻止、使其无害、破坏和/或对微生物生命的所有形式和/或部分(例如细菌、病毒、真菌、孢子形式等)施加控制作用的能力;和/或特征在于除去和/或减少令人不快的和/或令人不悦的气味的能力。
如本文所使用,术语“抗微生物”是指醇酸树脂杀死微生物的能力。
如本文所提及的术语“微生物”包括细菌、病毒、真菌和藻类。优选地,如本文所使用的术语“微生物”是指细菌。
杀死微生物的能力产生消毒、防污、自清洁(sanitizing)和/或杀生物效果。在本文中,“防污”是指防止或除去在湿润表面上的生物污垢的能力。生物污垢是微生物、植物、藻类或动物在湿润表面上的积累,并且杀死包括藻类在内的这些微生物支持了防止或除去生物污垢。
如本文所提及的术语“基底”包括任何材料的物体,包括例如聚合物、金属、玻璃和石材,以及这些物体上的涂层。物体可以具有任何形状,包括例如板、片、纤维和管。
如本文所使用,术语“醇酸树脂”是指通过添加脂肪酸和/或其他组分改性的聚酯。醇酸树脂衍生自二-、三-或多元醇和二-、三-或多元羧酸或羧酸酐。单体本身不包括在术语“醇酸树脂”中。
二-、三-或多元酸可以例如选自草酸、丙二酸、琥珀酸、戊二酸、己二酸、庚二酸、辛二酸、壬二酸、癸二酸(cebacic acid)、马来酸、富马酸、戊烯二酸、苹果酸、天冬氨酸、谷氨酸、酒石酸、邻苯二甲酸、间苯二甲酸、对苯二甲酸和/或其混合物。这些酸的酸酐也是合适的。优选地,聚酯中的酸残基是二元酸残基。
二-、三-醇或多元醇可以例如选自乙二醇,丁二醇,戊二醇,新戊二醇,己二醇,二乙二醇,二丙二醇,三乙二醇,甘油,三羟甲基乙烷,三羟甲基丙烷,季戊四醇,甲基葡糖苷,糖,糖醇,如甘露醇、木糖醇和山梨糖醇,和/或其混合物。
醇酸树脂中的聚酯主链可以被任何有机残基改性,优选疏水残基,更优选不含有任何另外的如下定义的反应基团的疏水残基。优选地,聚酯用酸残基改性,更优选用脂肪酸残基改性。
术语“脂肪酸”是指具有脂族链的羧酸。在一个实施方案中,脂族链是饱和的。在另一个实施方案中,脂族链是不饱和的。脂族链中的C原子的数目可以为1至40个C原子,优选1至26个C原子或1至18个C原子。甚至更优选地,脂族链中的C原子的数目为至少6,如至少10或至少15。更优选地,脂族链中的C原子的数目为6至40、6至26、6至20、10至40、10至26、10至20、15至40、15至26或15至20;特别优选为15至20。
优选地,脂肪酸选自己酸、辛酸、癸酸、肉豆蔻脑酸、棕榈油酸、十六碳烯酸(sapienic acid)、油酸、反油酸、异油酸、亚油酸、反式亚麻酸(linoelaidic acid)、α-亚麻酸、花生四烯酸、棕榈酸、硬脂酸、月桂酸、肉豆蔻酸和/或其组合。在另一个实施方案中,脂肪酸可以是二官能或三官能的,并且选自己二酸、富马酸、间苯二甲酸、马来酸、邻苯二甲酸、琥珀酸、柠檬酸和/或其组合。在又一个实施方案中,脂肪酸是上述脂肪酸的酸酐。
在一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂是线性聚酯。如本文所定义的线性聚酯是双官能分子并且具有两个反应性位点。
在另一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂是含有脂肪酸侧基的支化聚酯。如本文所定义的支化聚酯是三官能、四官能或更高官能分子并且具有三个、四个或更多个反应性位点。支化聚酯可以作为线性聚酯形成分子链,但另外形成支化连接,这产生三维网络(交联)。
在一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂进一步用不饱和或饱和油改性,或烷基树脂含有这类油。
优选地,不饱和或饱和油选自桐油、亚麻籽油、向日葵油、红花油、胡桃油、大豆油、鱼油、玉米油、妥尔油、脱水蓖麻油、椰子油、菜籽油、薄荷油、薰衣草油、红花油、胡桃油、鱼油、玉米油、妥尔油、脱水蓖麻油、枯茗油、亚麻油、斑鸠菊油(vernonia oil)和/或其混合物。特别优选的是亚麻籽油、向日葵油、椰子油、菜籽油、薄荷油、薰衣草油和大豆油、红花油、胡桃油、鱼油、玉米油、妥尔油、脱水蓖麻油、枯茗油、亚麻油和斑鸠菊油。
以上油可以原样存在于醇酸树脂中或作为其衍生物存在,例如作为其脂肪酸、单酯、脂肪酸二酯和与其他羧酸的酯,如抗坏血酸、乙酸、丙酸、苯甲酸或乳酸。
醇酸树脂中的其他可能的添加剂是例如脂肪酸,特别是如上所述的脂肪酸,辛-1-烯-3-醇,香茅醛和clothing mot的信息素,例如(Z,E)-十四碳-9,12-二烯基乙酸酯。
包含不饱和或饱和油的醇酸树脂按油的基于根据树脂的总重量计的量分类。在一个实施方案中,不饱和或饱和油的量高于60重量%(长油醇酸树脂)、在40重量%和60重量%之间(中油醇酸树脂)或低于40重量%(短油醇酸树脂),基于醇酸树脂的总重量计。在一个优选的实施方案中,醇酸树脂是中油醇酸树脂或长油醇酸树脂。
在一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂是WorléeKyd B 845(Worlée-Chemie GmbH,Germany),Setal 196 XX(Nuplex,USA,Kentucky)或Alkydal F26 XX,Alkydal F251 X(Covestro,Germany)。
在一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂另外减少了生物膜在基底的表面上的生长。如本文所使用的术语“另外”具有“同时”和/或“相继”的含义。
如本文所使用,术语“生物膜”是指微生物的组合,其中细胞在基底的表面上彼此粘附。如本文所使用,术语“生物膜的生长”或“生物膜生长”是指附着于基底的表面的微生物积聚。
如本文所使用,术语“减少生物膜的生长”是指在长期范围内(即至少1周,优选至少1个月,更优选至少1年,甚至更优选至少3年),在包含如本文所述的醇酸树脂的基底的表面上,与不包含如本文所述的醇酸树脂的基底的表面相比,降低微生物积聚、优选抑制微生物积聚。
在一个实施方案中,如本文所述的醇酸树脂特别适合于同时向基底的表面赋予抗微生物性质并且减少、特别是抑制生物膜在基底的表面上的生长,由此减少、优选抑制生物膜在基底表面上的生长并且在长期时间范围内(至少2周,优选至少1个月,更优选至少1年,甚至更优选至少3年)保持醇酸树脂的微生物功效。
在一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂是干燥或非干燥的醇酸树脂。
干燥的醇酸树脂在约20℃下固化或通过在60℃-80℃下干燥固化。非干燥的醇酸树脂在这些温度下不会干燥,而是通过烘烤来固化。
在一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂还包含催干剂(油干燥剂),其催化醇酸树脂的固化。催干剂通常衍生自钴、锰和铁离子。
在另一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂不含有任何催干剂。
根据本发明,该用途的一个特别的优点是发现,醇酸树脂本身在不需要任何其他杀生物作用化合物的情况下,提供了期望的抗微生物效果。因此,在本发明的一个特别优选的实施方案中,醇酸树脂不含任何另外的抗微生物化合物,特别是不含如2012年5月22日的欧洲议会和顾问(European Parliament and the Counsel)的法规(EU)第528-2012号的第3(1)(a)条所定义的任何杀生物产品。特别地,用于本发明的烷基树脂不含有任何纳米颗粒,如金属纳米颗粒,特别是银纳米颗粒。优选地,醇酸树脂不含银、有机锡和脂松香。
在又一个实施方案中,根据本发明使用的醇酸树脂不含有任何内部杀生物剂,优选地醇酸树脂不含有任何内部杀生物剂和任何外部杀生物剂。在本文中,“内部杀生物剂”被理解为具有杀生物活性的化合物(特别是2012年5月22日的欧洲议会和顾问的法规(EU)第528-2012号的第3(1)(a)条所定义的那些化合物),其与醇酸树脂化学结合,如WO 2010/040903的实施例1的醇酸树脂中的脂松香或US 4,039,494的醇酸树脂中的有机锡化合物。“外部杀生物剂”应理解为存在于醇酸树脂中但不与醇酸树脂聚合物化学结合的那些杀生物化合物。
由于认为醇酸树脂的抗微生物效果是由于聚酯聚合物的疏水脂肪酸残基侧链和例如细菌的细胞膜之间的机械相互作用,因此期望脂肪酸残基具有一定的疏水性但不与细胞膜反应。因此,优选醇酸树脂中的脂肪酸残基不含有任何反应性官能团,如羟基、氨基、磺基、磷酸基、羧基、羧基-酰胺、氰基等。脂肪酸残基中的可能的不饱和度并不认为是本发明的意义上的反应性官能团。
上述品质可以用于改性基底的表面。其中所述基底的一个或多个部分(例如材料、添加剂、表面层、内层、外部、内部等)包含如本文所述的醇酸树脂,和/或所述基底的一个或多个表面(例如官能表面)至少部分地涂有表面层、油漆或涂料,其中所述表面层、油漆或涂料包含醇酸树脂。
基底可以选自:聚合物物体,油漆,清漆,涂料,油墨,玻璃纤维和无机氧化物材料,用于储存饮用水的容器(例如在饮料工业中),废水或地表水;用于废物分解的容器;用于水净化的容器;医院,医疗设备和装置,伤口敷料,尿布,家用电器,水锅炉,加热系统,屠宰场,船舶,船只,屋顶覆盖物,屋顶瓦片,室内瓷砖,户外瓷砖,厨房,水槽,浴室设备,洗衣间,厕所,便携式厕所,陶瓷,聚合物,纤维,雨水下水道,外部立面立面元件,游泳池,泵,管材,墙壁,地板,层压板,技术纺织品,运动服织物,纺织纤维,纸张,木材,用于空气和水净化的设备,用于土壤净化的设备,窗户玻璃(例如自洁窗户),镜子(例如镜子和/或玻璃的防雾涂层),过滤材料如无纺布,呼吸器面罩,空气过滤器,如空调过滤器,水过滤器,和用于水、空气净化的活性炭过滤器,和/或(食品)包装。
在本发明的一个实施方案中,醇酸树脂进一步与聚合物组合,如热塑性聚合物、弹性体、热塑性弹性体、硬质塑料或其混合物。
如本文所使用,术语“热塑性材料(thermoplastic)”是指在特定温度以上变得柔韧或可模塑并且在冷却时固化的聚合物。热塑性聚合物的实例包括但不限于聚丙烯酸酯、丙烯腈-丁二烯-苯乙烯、聚酰胺如尼龙、聚乙酸、聚苯并咪唑、聚碳酸酯、聚醚砜、聚醚醚酮、聚醚酰亚胺、聚乙烯、聚苯醚、聚苯硫醚、聚丙烯、聚苯乙烯、聚氯乙烯、聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯、聚氨酯、聚酯和聚四氟乙烯(例如特氟隆)。

聚合物的其他实例是聚烯烃,如聚乙烯和聚丙烯,或三聚氰胺树脂(三聚氰胺-甲醛树脂)。通过甲醛与三聚氰胺的缩合形成三聚氰胺-甲醛树脂。例如,醇酸树脂的量为10至90重量%并且三聚氰胺树脂的量为10至90重量%,基于两种树脂的总重量计。在一个优选的实施方案中,醇酸树脂为50至90重量%并且三聚氰胺树脂的量为10至50重量%,以两种树脂的总重量计。特别优选的是,醇酸树脂为约70重量%并且三聚氰胺树脂的量为约30重量%,基于两种树脂的总重量计。合适的三聚氰胺树脂的实例是Maprenal MF 900(INEOSMelamines GmbH,Germany)。发现醇酸树脂与三聚氰胺树脂的组合改进了表面硬度和耐刮擦性并且减少了固化时间。
将醇酸树脂并入到聚合物物体中可以例如通过将醇酸树脂与聚合物混合以获得醇酸树脂和聚合物的分散体或配混物(compound)来实现。然后,所述分散体或化合物可以例如进行注塑或挤出以形成聚合物物体。
或者,在进行醇酸树脂的聚合之前,可以将单一组分的醇酸树脂与聚合物混合。
所得聚合物可以例如进行配混工艺、无压加工技术(例如浇铸、浸渍、涂覆、发泡)或压缩模塑、轧制和压延、挤出、吹塑或注塑工艺或拉伸、热成型或印刷以形成聚合物物体。
如本文所述的聚合物物体还可以通过干法成网、气流成网、纺丝成网/熔喷或湿法成网工艺获得,特别是如果聚合物物体用作纤维材料或非织造材料。
如本文所使用,缩写“重量%”或“w/w”表示“重量百分比”并且是指化合物的重量相对于化合物或基底的组合物的(总)重量,如果在这种情况下没有明确说明或不明显的话。
实施例
抗微生物活性的值(R值)计算如下:

实施例1
测试醇酸树脂以及醇酸树脂与三聚氰胺树脂的组合的抗微生物效果。
抗微生物测试在聚丙烯(PP)-尺寸为15cm2的板上进行。盲值(blind value)测试的面积为16cm2。因此,抗微生物测试的值外推至16cm2。所测试的微生物是革兰氏阳性细菌金黄色葡萄球菌(Staphylococcus aureus)(DSM 799)。
结果总结在下表1中:

从上表中可以看出,所有测试的醇酸树脂以及醇酸树脂与三聚氰胺树脂的组合都显示出优异的抗微生物效果。
实施例2
重复如实施例1中所述的测试。在测试之前,用软化水或自来水洗涤树脂超过24小时。

实施例3
重复如实施例1中所述的测试。在测试之前,将树脂在100ml自来水中洗脱3周。

实施例4
重复实施例1中所述的测试,修改为使用革兰氏阴性细菌大肠杆菌(Escherichiacoli)(DSM 1116)作为测试微生物。

从上表中可以看出,同样针对革兰氏阴性大肠杆菌,不同的醇酸树脂显示出高抗微生物效果;与对于革兰氏阳性金黄色葡萄球菌所观察到的程度相当。
实施例5
重复实施例1中所述的测试,修改为使用霉菌巴西曲霉(Asperigillusbrasiliensis)(DSM 1988)作为测试微生物。
结果总结在下表5中:

从上表中可以看出,同样针对霉菌巴西曲霉,不同的醇酸树脂显示出抗微生物效果。
实施例6
为了排除抗微生物效果是基于树脂的酸性pH,在用几毫升软化水和自来水洗涤之前和之后测量pH。

从上表中可以看出,所测试的醇酸树脂的pH没有显着变化,因此可以得出醇酸树脂的抗微生物效果不是基于酸性pH。
实施例7
测试醇酸树脂以及醇酸树脂与三聚氰胺树脂的组合的机械性质。
结果总结在下表7中:

从上表中可以看出,所有测试的醇酸树脂以及醇酸树脂与三聚氰胺树脂的组合都显示出优异的机械性质。70重量%的醇酸树脂与30重量%的三聚氰胺树脂的组合甚至进一步改进了树脂的附着力、耐刮擦性和机械强度。
实施例8
测试醇酸树脂以及醇酸树脂与三聚氰胺树脂的组合针对生物膜形成的效果。为此,将如实施例1中所述的测试样品添加到多孔板的各个孔中。将用金黄色葡萄球菌以106CFU/ml接种的生物膜培养基添加到各孔中。在不同时间后取出样品,用无菌水冲洗并干燥。使用扫描电子显微镜检查干燥的样品。
从图1和2中的图像可以看出,对于21天后的醇酸树脂,在生物膜中存在大的间隙。对于具有三聚氰胺树脂的醇酸树脂,12天后生物膜形成大大减少。这表明醇酸树脂和具有三聚氰胺树脂的醇酸树脂都使得生物膜形成大大减少。
实施例9
重复如实施例1中所述的测试。测试从Worlee-Chemie GmbH获得的两种醇酸树脂,即WorleeKyd B 845和Worleesol E 330(WSE 330)。为了排除在醇酸树脂涂料中存在任何低分子量化合物,将其分别在水中提取24小时,在石油溶剂油(white spirit)中提取一小时以及在丁醇中提取一分钟。对于丁醇,提取的时间短,因为丁醇对于醇酸树脂本身也是极好的溶剂,并且发现涂料本身在2分钟后被破坏。因此,选择仅一分钟的提取时间。
用不同极性的溶剂提取醇酸树脂确保了涂料不含有任何可能影响涂料的抗微生物活性的小分子量残留物。因此,观察到的活性完全基于醇酸树脂本身。
结果总结在下表8中:

从上表中的数据可以看出,与没有提取(盲值)的醇酸树脂涂料相比,分别用水、石油溶剂油和丁醇提取的那些样品没有表现出更高的抗微生物活性。因此,显而易见的是,观察到的抗微生物活性是由于醇酸树脂本身而不是由于存在任何低分子量分子。
实施例10
测试从Worlee-Chemie GmbH获得的两种醇酸树脂,即WorleeKyd B 845和Worleesol E 330(WSE 330)。在醇酸树脂聚合后,将树脂研磨并且在注塑工艺中用作聚丙烯的添加剂。
结果总结在下表9中:

从上表中的数据可以看出,醇酸树脂可以通过注塑工艺作为添加剂并入聚烯烃中,以制备具有抗微生物功能的聚烯烃。
Claims (15)
1.醇酸树脂的用途,用于向基底的表面的至少一部分提供抗微生物性质。
2.根据权利要求1所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中抗微生物性质包括抗菌、消毒、防污和/或自清洁性质。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂是用脂肪酸改性的聚酯。
4.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂是线性聚酯。
5.根据权利要求1或2所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂是含有脂肪酸侧基的支化聚酯。
6.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂进一步用不饱和或饱和油改性或含有不饱和或饱和油。
7.根据权利要求6所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中不饱和或饱和油选自亚麻籽油、向日葵油、椰子油、菜籽油、薄荷油、薰衣草油、大豆油、红花油、胡桃油、鱼油、玉米油、妥尔油、脱水蓖麻油、枯茗油、亚麻油、木油、斑鸠菊油和/或其混合物。
8.根据权利要求6或7所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中不饱和或饱和油的量高于60重量%(长油醇酸树脂)、在40重量%和60重量%之间(中油醇酸树脂)或低于40重量%(短油醇酸树脂),基于醇酸树脂的总重量计。
9.根据权利要求8所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂是中油醇酸树脂或长油醇酸树脂。
10.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂是干燥或非干燥的醇酸树脂。
11.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂还包含催干剂。
12.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中基底选自聚合物物体、油漆、清漆、涂料、油墨、玻璃纤维和/或无机氧化物材料。
13.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂进一步与其他聚合物组合,如热塑性聚合物、热塑性弹性体、硬质塑料或弹性体。
14.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂另外减少生物膜在基底的表面上的生长。
15.根据前述权利要求中任一项所述的醇酸树脂的用途,其中醇酸树脂不含有任何其他内部或外部杀生物化合物,优选不含有其他内部杀生物化合物。
