Background

It is likewise conceivable that corresponding wind curtain generating means are arranged both on the input side and on the output side of the separating means.
Upstream of the separating means, a knife device is arranged on the longitudinal conveying means, whereby the rod-shaped articles are cut or severed (abgeschnitten) to rod-shaped articles of limited length from the endless or to a certain extent endless strip produced. In one embodiment, it can be provided that the air curtain generating device according to the invention is arranged after the knife device in the transfer region between the longitudinal conveying device and the transverse axial conveying device.
In particular, the separating device has one or more, in particular two, acceleration rollers for the rod-shaped article. According to the invention, the flow direction of the air generated by the air curtain generating device is aligned with the strip surface of the rod-shaped article, wherein the blows of the especially funnel-shaped air curtain impinge (trifft) at an acute angle onto the strip surface of the rod-shaped article. Method for transferring rod-shaped articles (20) of the tobacco processing industry from a longitudinal conveying means (12) for conveying the rod-shaped articles (20) in a longitudinal axial direction, wherein the rod-shaped articles (20) are conveyed in a row in a longitudinal axial direction, to a transverse axial conveying means (14) for conveying the rod-shaped articles (20) in a transverse axial direction, wherein the rod-shaped articles (20) are transferred from the longitudinal conveying means (12) to the transverse axial conveying means (14) in a transfer region on the outlet side of the longitudinal conveying means (12), characterized in that the rod-shaped articles (20) which are conveyed in a row in a longitudinal axial direction are subjected to a blowing load by an air curtain generating means (30) in the transfer region of the rod-shaped articles (20) between the longitudinal conveying means (12) and the transverse axial conveying means (14), wherein the flow direction of the air curtain generated by the air curtain generating means (30) is oriented counter to the longitudinal axial conveying direction of the rod-shaped articles (20) in or on the longitudinal conveying means (12).
19. Method according to claim 18, characterized in that the rod-shaped articles (20) are filter rods and/or the transverse axial transport means (14) are pushing drums.
20. Method according to claim 18, characterized in that the method is carried out using a device for transferring rod-shaped articles (20) of the tobacco processing industry according to one of claims 1 to 17.
21. Use of an air curtain generating device (30) for generating an air curtain in an apparatus for transferring rod-shaped articles (20) of the tobacco processing industry according to any one of claims 1 to 17.
22. A rod maker for the tobacco processing industry, comprising a device (10) for transferring rod-shaped articles (20) for the tobacco processing industry according to any one of claims 1 to 17.
23. The rod making machine according to claim 22, wherein the rod making machine is a filter rod making machine.
