Description
Technical Field
The invention relates to a transport drum of the tobacco processing industry, wherein lever arms are provided which can be pivoted in the circumferential direction of the transport drum, wherein the lever arms each have one or more receptacles for rod-shaped articles, wherein the lever arms can be pivoted by means of a pivoting chute, wherein the lever arms can be moved in a controlled manner during rotation of the transport drum by means of the pivoting chute in a transport region for the rod-shaped articles between a receiving region for receiving the rod-shaped articles into the receptacles and an output region for outputting the rod-shaped articles from the receptacles.
The invention also relates to a drum system for the transverse axial transport of rod-shaped articles and to a machine in the tobacco processing industry, in particular for the production of multi-segment filters.
Background
Rod-shaped articles of the tobacco processing industry are understood in this context to be articles which are held in a row of one or more layers on a conveyor, for example a conveyor drum, in a filter maker or a cigarette maker by means of suction air and are conveyed from the conveyor into a transport region. Such articles are filter cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos as well as filter rods, filter segments etc. When reference is now made to cigarettes or filter rods in the light of simplicity, what is said applies correspondingly to further articles to be conveyed of the aforementioned type, for example filter segments or groups of filter segments.
In cigarette-making machines, the cigarettes are held transversely to their longitudinal axial orientation in receiving pockets of a conveying drum, which is first of all a drum of a cigarette-making machine or of a filter tip mounting machine.
It is also known that: in the drum system, transport drums are used for transporting rod-shaped articles in the transverse axial direction, wherein so-called acceleration drums are used along the transport path of the rod-shaped articles, depending on the process conditions. Acceleration rollers are used in this case, which have pivotable lever arms, so that, when the transport roller is rotated and the lever arms are pivoted, an acceleration is exerted on the transported rod-shaped articles, so that the rod-shaped articles are accelerated and transferred to the following transport roller.
It is also known that acceleration drums are also used in so-called multi-segment filter makers. An acceleration roller for use in an apparatus for assembling multi-segment filter groups is disclosed, for example, in EP 2653044 a 2.
Disclosure of Invention
Starting from this prior art, the object of the invention is to variably configure the transfer of rod-shaped articles between transport rollers for transporting the rod-shaped articles in the transverse axial direction.
This object is achieved by a transport drum of the tobacco processing industry, wherein lever arms are provided which can be pivoted in the circumferential direction of the transport drum, wherein the lever arms each have one or more receptacles for rod-shaped articles, wherein the lever arms can be pivoted by means of a pivoting chute, wherein the lever arms can be moved in a controlled manner by means of the pivoting chute during rotation of the transport drum in a transport region for the rod-shaped articles between a receiving region for receiving rod-shaped articles into the receptacles and an output region for outputting rod-shaped articles from the receptacles, wherein the transport drum is improved in that the pivoting chute for the lever arms has at least two chute sections, wherein the first or a first movement for the lever arms is provided in the transport region during the transport of rod-shaped articles of a first type And a second runner section for the second or a second movement of the lever arm when a rod-shaped article of a second type different from the rod-shaped article of the first type is transported, and wherein the pivoting runner is adjustable such that, in particular, selectively, the first runner section of the pivoting runner is active at least in the delivery region when a rod-shaped article of the first type is transported, or the second runner section is active at least in the delivery region when a rod-shaped article of the second type is transported.
The invention is based on the idea that the conveying drum has a pivoting chute for the lever arm, wherein the pivoting chute has at least two different chute sections for the delivery area, so that a chute section is active in the delivery area in accordance with the type of rod-shaped articles to be conveyed, whereby the rod-shaped articles are delivered to the following conveying means at different speeds depending on the chute section that is active when the articles are delivered.
By means of correspondingly acting gate sections in the delivery region, the rod-shaped articles are accelerated at different speeds on the drum in a selective manner depending on the type. For example, the rod-shaped articles or article groups to be conveyed of the first type differ in the length of the articles or article groups from the rod-shaped articles or article groups of the second type.
If, for example, a short rod-shaped article or group of articles having a predetermined group length is transported on the transport drum and accelerated by the first chute section in the delivery area by the active first chute section, then, during format change and subsequent transport of rod-shaped articles or groups of articles having a greater article length, the rod-shaped articles or groups of articles are delivered to the following transport means at a higher transport speed than the shorter group of articles of the first type, accelerated at least in the delivery area by the adjusted second chute section.
By the pivoting chute for the lever arm simultaneously having two different chute sections in or for the delivery area of the transport drum, it is possible to replace the first chute section for the delivery area relative to the second chute section for the delivery area by a simple selective switching during format reconstruction on the machine. In this case, for example, the pivot link with the first link section and the second link section can be rotated and adjusted in a simple manner during format change without having to replace the entire pivot link. The oscillating chute according to the invention remains on the transport drum.
It is thereby possible to transport products or product groups of different lengths in the receiving section or pocket of the transport drum provided with a lever arm without having to completely replace the entire pivoting chute. Overall, a rapid adjustment of the pivoting carriage on the transport drum, which is preferably designed as an acceleration drum, is thereby achieved.
When the rod-shaped articles to be conveyed of a first type are selectively exchanged for rod-shaped articles of a second type, the chute sections acting in the delivery region of the conveying drum are exchanged or adjusted in such a way that the rod-shaped articles are delivered at a corresponding delivery speed when they are delivered out of the receiving pockets into a subsequent conveying mechanism. In this case, the link sections of the pivoting link for the output region differ in such a way that the conveying speed of the rod-shaped articles of the first type is different due to the movement characteristic of the link sections than the conveying speed of the rod-shaped articles of the second type due to the movement characteristic of the lever sections of the second link sections.
In a further development of the conveyor drum, it is provided that the second link section for the lever arm is configured to engage the first link section in the circumferential direction of the pivoting link. In the context of the present invention, it is possible for the pivoting carriage to have a plurality of carriage sections, by means of which different conveying speeds in the delivery region or different movement characteristics of the lever arm in the delivery region are respectively achieved, i.e. in the case of a rod-shaped article to be conveyed or transported being delivered to the subsequent conveying means.
The transport drum is further characterized in that a chute section of the oscillating chute for the receiving region is designed in such a way that, independently of the first or second chute section, which is adjusted and active in the output region, the chute section is identical or unchanged for the receiving region for receiving the product into the receiving pocket.
Thereby it is achieved that: the transfer point is not changed for this purpose when the rod-shaped articles of the tobacco processing industry are received in the receiving sections or pockets of the lever arms of the conveying drum. For this purpose, the pivoting chutes in the region of the transfer area are designed in such a way that the position of the transport mechanism or of the transport drum remains unchanged during format change. The transfer area or the removal area of the rod-shaped articles onto the following conveyor remains unchanged.
In addition, a development of the transport drum is characterized in that the lever arms each have at least one or more, in particular two rollers, which interact with a pivoting link when the transport drum is rotated in order to execute a pivoting movement of the lever arms when the transport drum is rotated. In this case, the roller is connected to the lever arm by a swing arm or the like.
In the case of a drum, it is furthermore preferred that the pivoting link has two guide rails arranged next to one another, wherein the guide rails are offset with respect to one another and in each case one guide rail interacts with in each case one roller of in each case one lever arm.
In addition, in one embodiment, it is preferred in the case of the transport drum that an adjusting mechanism, in particular a twisting mechanism, is provided for the pivoting carriage, in such a way that the active carriage section is replaced or adjusted in the output region by the adjusting mechanism, for example, for changing the type of rod-shaped articles to be transported in the case of format change.
In particular, the transport drum is designed as an acceleration drum, for example of a drum system.
The object is also achieved by a drum system for the transverse axial transport of rod-shaped articles of the tobacco processing industry, which is designed with the aforementioned transport drum. To avoid redundancy, explicit reference is made to the above-described embodiments.
In addition, this object is achieved by a machine of the tobacco processing industry, in particular a machine for producing multi-segment filters, having the aforementioned conveyor drum. For this reason, explicit reference is made to the above-described embodiments.
Further features of the invention are explained from the description of embodiments according to the invention with reference to the claims and the drawings. Embodiments according to the present invention may satisfy individual features or a combination of features.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 schematically shows a transport drum 10 designed as an acceleration drum for transporting rod-shaped articles, in particular filter rods or multi-segment filter groups, in a transverse axial direction.
The transport cylinder 10 is in this case a component of a schematically illustrated cylinder system T, as is shown, for example, in fig. 1 of european patent application EP 2653044 a 2. The roller system shown in fig. 1 in this document has, for example, an acceleration roller (reference numeral 50).
It is obvious that it is possible within the scope of the invention for the transport drum 10 shown in fig. 1 to also be a component of a machine of the tobacco processing industry for producing rod-shaped articles.
The conveyor roller 10 has an outer roller body 12, on the outside of which lever arms 14 are arranged so as to be pivotable in the circumferential direction. The lever arm 14 is in this case mounted so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis. On this outer side, the lever arm 14 has a receiving pocket 16 for rod-shaped articles or article groups, for example multi-segment filter groups. It is also possible within the scope of the invention for a lever arm to have a plurality of receiving pockets for a plurality of rod-shaped articles or article groups.
During the rotation of the transport cylinder, these lever arms 14 perform an oscillating movement. The cylinder body 12 is also driven by means of a drive (not shown here) and is set in rotation during operation of the transport cylinder 10.
The drum body 12 can be rotated relative to a stationary holding body 18, wherein the holding body 18 is arranged on a machine frame or the like. By means of a corresponding suction air bore, the receiving pockets 16 of the lever arms 14 are loaded with low pressure in the case of receiving rod-shaped articles. In this case, a corresponding vacuum is provided in the interior of the drum body 12, wherein the underpressure is switched over in the case of the application of a corresponding control body in the interior of the transport drum 10.
The pivoting movement of the lever arm 14 takes place by means of a curved running track 20 according to the invention (see fig. 2) arranged or formed in the interior of the drum body 12.
Fig. 2 schematically shows the components of the transport cylinder 10 present in the interior of the cylinder body. In this case, a slotted curved running rail 20 is formed or arranged on the holding body 18. In particular, the curved running rail 20 is constructed in a curved disk. The curved running rail 20 is in this case designed in a trough-like manner in the form of a depression in the retaining body 18.
The roller pairs (see fig. 3) connected to the lever arms 14 are embedded inside the curved running track 20, so that due to the contour of the curved running track 20, the lever arms 14 oscillate about their respective oscillation axes when the drum body 12 rotates.
The curved running rail 20 is not circular in the circumferential direction and has a plurality of curved sections K1, K2 (see fig. 4). In fig. 4, a front view onto the contour of a schematic curved running rail is schematically shown. In this case, these curve sections K1 and K2 are curve sections which, in cooperation with one or more rollers of the lever arm 14, cause the lever arm 14 to swing.
In particular, according to the invention, the curved sections K1, K2 of the curved running path 20 are oriented or positioned in the interior of the transport drum in such a way that they undergo an acceleration at the delivery point when they are delivered from the receiving portion 16 of the lever arm 14.
In this case, for example, a curved section K1 for the rod-shaped articles of the first type is arranged in the delivery region, so that rod-shaped articles of a predetermined length are transferred at an increased conveying speed to the following conveying drum or the following conveying mechanism. During the format reconstruction, the curved path of travel 20 in the interior of the transport drum 10 is changed so that, in the case of this transport drum 10, for a second type of longer rod-shaped articles, a second curved section K2 is arranged in the delivery region of the transport drum so that the latter are transferred to the following conveyor at a further (lower) conveying speed.
In one embodiment, it is also possible within the scope of the invention for the first curve section K1 to be arranged in the output region for longer rod-shaped articles, so that longer rod-shaped articles are transferred to the following conveyor at a lower conveying speed, and for the second curve section K2 to be arranged in the output region for shorter rod-shaped articles, so that shorter rod-shaped articles are transferred to the following conveyor at a higher conveying speed.
Fig. 2 is a schematic perspective view of only one curve section K1.
In this case, the curved running path 20 with the curved sections K1 and K2 for the discharge region can be arranged selectively as a function of the length of the rod-shaped articles to be conveyed, in such a way that a corresponding curved section K1 or K2 is arranged in the discharge region. In this case, only one curve section acts in the delivery region of the transport drum in order to cause a predetermined acceleration of the rod-shaped articles or a pivoting movement of the lever arm.
Depending on the position of the rotatable or adjustable curved path 20 on the holding body 18, one of the two curved sections K1 or K2 is selectively adjusted in the delivery or transfer region of the transport drum depending on the type or length of the rod-shaped articles to be transported.
The principle of coupling the lever arm 14 of the transport cylinder 10 to the curved running rail 20 is schematically illustrated in fig. 3. The lever arm 14 shown in fig. 3 is mounted so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis S. The pivot axis S or the lever arm 14 is connected via a Z-shaped pivot arm 22 to the rolling wheels 30.1, 30.2 arranged at the end of the pivot arm 22. In the groove-shaped guide of the curved running rail 20, a plurality of guide rails 24.1, 24.2 are formed, which are arranged offset in the radial direction with respect to one another. In this case, the rolling wheels 30.1 roll on the guide rails 24.1 and the rolling wheels 30.2 roll on the guide rails 24.2. Due to the guide rails 24.1, 24.2 arranged offset to one another, the rolling wheels 30.1, 30.2 rotate in opposite directions to one another.
On the side facing away from or opposite the guide rail 24.1, a free space is present next to the guide rail 24.2, so that the rolling wheels 30.1 do not have contact with the section retracted relative to the adjacent guide rail 24.2.
The region facing the rolling wheels 30.2 or set back relative thereto next to the adjacent guide rail 24.1 also has no contact with the second rolling wheels 30.2.
All the aforementioned features, as well as features which can be taken only from the drawings, and also features which are disclosed in combination with other features, are considered to be the gist of the present invention, both individually and in combination. Embodiments according to the present invention may be implemented by individual features or a combination of features. Features expressed as "particularly" or "preferably" are considered optional features within the scope of the invention.
