Description

Arrangement and method for closing a body opening in the floor of a motor vehicle having an underfloor battery
Technical Field
The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for closing at least one body opening in the floor of a motor vehicle.
Background
The floor or underbody of a motor vehicle can be provided with openings which serve as suspension points and support points at which the vehicle body is connected, for example, to a conveyor rack of a flow line, when the motor vehicle is manufactured, and/or as paint outlets during the painting process. These body openings or floor openings must then be closed during the vehicle manufacturing process, for which purpose, for example, plastic plugs or plastic stoppers are currently used.
Document DE 10148493 a1 describes a closure plug for the sealed closure of an opening in a panel of a body or floor of a motor vehicle. Document DE 102012103291 a1 describes a closure element for a vehicle body opening.
In order to close the floor opening with such a closure, a separate process step is required. On the other hand, in the Z direction (vehicle height direction) several millimeters are required, which is problematic in particular in motor vehicles with a bottom battery because of the compact installation space.
Disclosure of Invention
It is therefore an object of the present invention to avoid or at least reduce the disadvantages of the prior art by means of the present invention.
This is achieved by the arrangement according to the invention according to claim 1 and the method according to the invention according to the dependent claims. Preferred developments and embodiments of the invention for both inventive subjects are analogously to be found in the dependent claims, the following description and the drawings.
The arrangement or closure structure according to the invention for closing (and sealing) at least one body opening in the floor of a motor vehicle comprises:
a floor or the like having at least one body opening or floor opening to be closed, wherein the floor is in particular a component of a motor vehicle or vehicle body (motor vehicle body);
at least one underfloor battery arranged below the floor panel, in particular a traction battery or a power battery (for supplying power for the electric drive operation of the motor vehicle);
at least one foam mat/foam mat arranged on the upper side of the underlying battery, which foam mat closes the vehicle body opening.
The arrangement according to the invention can also be referred to as a system or a closed system.
After the bottom battery is installed in the motor vehicle, the outer surface of the bottom battery facing the floor panel is referred to as the upper side. The foam pad is a flat pad of the cushion type, which is composed of foam/foam. The foam cushion is pressed from below against the body opening in the floor panel and in such a way that the body opening is covered by the foam cushion and is sealed closed. In particular an electric or hybrid vehicle. This may be, for example, a passenger car, a light truck, a mini bus, etc.
The present invention has several advantages. A separate working step for closing the floor opening is no longer required. In particular, it is possible to close a plurality of floor openings simultaneously when the bottom battery is installed. In addition, no additional installation space in the Z direction is required. But also produces better thermal and acoustic insulation. Advantages are not just those listed.
Preferably, the bottom battery has a battery housing, wherein the foam mat is arranged on the battery housing, in particular on a housing cover or a battery cover of the battery housing.
The foam pad is preferably formed from an elastomeric plastic foam (elastomeric foam), such as PU foam. It is also preferably provided that the foam padding is formed from a closed-cell plastic foam or at least from a mixed-cell plastic foam, which is advantageous for thermal and/or acoustic insulation.
The foam cushion can be formed or arranged in such a way that a preferably circumferential opening edge overlap/hole edge contact (Lochrand ü berdeckung) of at least 10mm and preferably at least 15mm up to the opening edge of the vehicle body opening is formed thereby. With a typical opening diameter (round hole) of about 30mm, the foam pad therefore has a diameter of 50mm to 60 mm.
The foam pad may have an original thickness or height of 10mm to 25mm, preferably 15mm to 25 mm. The foam cushion may be compressed approximately 40% to 60% in the thickness direction when closing the vehicle body opening. The compression takes place in particular in the region of the overlapping of the opening edges (overlap region).
The at least one foam pad may be bonded to the bottom cell or to the housing or housing cover of the bottom cell. The foam mat can for this purpose be designed, for example, with a self-adhesive side. It is also possible to form the foam mat directly on the underfloor battery, in particular by injection molding. That is, the forming and joining of the foam pad is completed in one process. The foam pad can already be installed at the relevant location as early as the battery is manufactured, that is to say at the fitting supplier or as early as the installation preparation (preassembly) process. The relevant sites are preferably marked.
The method according to the invention for closing at least one body or floor opening in a floor of a motor vehicle comprises the following steps:
-providing a motor vehicle or a motor vehicle body, the floor of which has at least one body opening to be closed;
-providing a bottom battery having at least one foam pad on its upper side;
mounting or fitting the bottom battery under the floor, in particular in such a way that: so that the bottom battery approaches the floor from below, while the body opening is closed by the foam cushion.
Drawings
The present invention is described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The features shown in the single figure and/or described below can be combined independently of certain features as a general feature of the invention and can be adapted accordingly.
Fig. 1 shows a detail of a floor panel on a motor vehicle with a floor opening closed according to the invention in a schematic and not to scale sectional view.
Detailed Description
A floor panel 10 (floor structure group) which is formed from a plurality of sheet metal shaped parts and forms the underbody of a motor vehicle has, in the illustrated region, a body or floor opening 15 which is formed with a circumferential, disk-like depression or elevation 17. The floor covering 20 is located on the inside on the floor 10.
Below the base plate 10, a so-called bottom battery 30 is arranged and fastened in a suitable manner. The bottom battery 30 and the base plate 10 are designed, at least in the region of the illustrated opening 15, with complementary shaped regions, which are adjacent to one another with a predetermined distance or gap 40 when the bottom battery 30 is installed. On the upper side 31 of the bottom cell 30 facing the base plate 10, a foam pad 50 is arranged, with which the base plate opening 15 is closed in a sealing manner from below.
The foam mat 50 is located in a spatially neutral manner in the gap 40 between the upper side 31 of the bottom cell 30 and the underside or outside of the base plate 10. When the bottom battery 30 is installed, the foam mat 50 is compressed in the region of the open-edge overlap B from its original contour 55 by a pressing force in the Z direction and thus produces a sealing action.
The floor or floor structure group 10 can have a plurality of floor openings 15 which are closed in the same manner, that is to say by a further foam mat 50 arranged on the same bottom cell 30 or on at least one further bottom cell 30. In this case, it is also possible, for example, for a plurality of floor openings 15 which are located in close proximity to one another to be closed together by a correspondingly large foam pad 50. The surface orientation of the floor opening 15 may also be different from the horizontal surface orientation shown.
