Description

Method and system for policy configuration according to user terminal type
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of communications, and in particular, to a method and system for policy configuration according to a user terminal type.
Background
In order to improve the 4G internet access speed of the user, operators successively provide 4G + technology, and high-speed internet access of 300mbps is provided for the 4G + user. However, the existing 4G technical standard cannot effectively distinguish whether the user uses 4G + access or 4G access, and an EPC (Evolved Packet Core) is difficult to issue an appropriate rate policy for the user according to the 4G + support capability of the user terminal and the base station.
At present, telecommunication operators deploy 4G + services, and often uniformly set the rate templates of all 4G users to 300mbps, which may result in an excessively high rate of the highest speed limit of non-4G + terminal users, which may cause certain potential safety hazards to the network and users, and is not favorable for the development of 4G + services.

In one embodiment, the issuing, by the PCRF unit, a corresponding speed limit template for the ue according to the received device identifier and the base station identifier of the ue includes:
the PCRF unit judges whether the user terminal supports the specified service according to the received equipment identifier of the user terminal;
if the user terminal supports the specified service, whether the base station supports the specified service is further judged according to the base station identification, and if the base station supports the specified service, the PCRF unit issues a first speed limiting template corresponding to the specified service to the PGW so that the PGW can control the speed of the user terminal by using the first speed limiting template.
In an embodiment, if the ue does not support the specified service or the base station does not support the specified service, the PCRF unit issues a second speed limit template to the PGW, so that the PGW performs speed control on the ue by using the second speed limit template.
In one embodiment, the highest speed limit of the first speed limit template is greater than the highest speed limit of the second speed limit template.
In one embodiment, the base station reports the device identifier of the user terminal and the base station identifier to the PCRF unit in the form of the RAT value.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided a system for performing policy configuration according to a user terminal type, including a base station and a PCRF unit, wherein:
the base station is used for reporting the equipment identifier and the base station identifier of the user terminal to the PCRF unit when the user terminal is accessed;
and the PCRF unit is used for issuing a corresponding speed limit template for the user terminal according to the received equipment identifier and the base station identifier of the user terminal so as to control the speed of the user terminal.

Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram of an embodiment of a method for policy configuration according to a type of a user equipment according to the present invention. Wherein:
step 101, when the ue is accessed, the base station reports the ue identity and the bs identity of the ue to a PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) unit.
Optionally, the base station reports the device identifier of the ue and the base station identifier to the PCRF unit in the form of a Radio Access Technology (RAT) value.
Because the current RAT value is used for describing the wireless access technology, the equipment identification and the base station identification of the user terminal are reported to the network side in the form of the RAT value without modifying the current network, thereby greatly reducing the implementation cost.
For example, the device identifier of the user terminal may be an IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity), or other identifier that uniquely identifies the user terminal.
102, the PCRF unit issues a corresponding speed limit template for the ue according to the received ue identifier and the base station identifier, so as to perform rate control on the ue.
Based on the method for performing policy configuration according to the user terminal type provided by the above embodiment of the present invention, the access base station reports the device identifier and the base station identifier of the user terminal, so that the network side can accurately obtain the terminal type of the user terminal, and issues the corresponding speed limit template for the user terminal according to the terminal type of the user terminal and the support capability of the base station, thereby implementing accurate matching of the user terminal speed, and simultaneously, the existing network is not required to be modified in a large scale.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of the method for policy configuration according to the type of the ue in the present invention. Wherein:
step 201, when the base station is accessed by the user terminal, the base station reports the device identifier of the user terminal and the base station identifier to the PCRF unit.
Step 202, after receiving the device identifier of the user terminal and the base station identifier, the PCRF unit determines whether the user terminal supports the specified service according to the received device identifier of the user terminal.
Optionally, the PCRF unit determines whether the user terminal supports the 4G + service according to the received terminal identifier. This may be implemented, for example, by a terminal identity to support capability mapping table.
If the user terminal supports the designated service, executing step 203; if the ue does not support the specified service, step 205 is executed.
Step 203, the PCRF unit determines whether the base station supports the specified service according to the base station identifier. If the base station supports the specified service, step 204 is executed; otherwise step 205 is performed.
In step 204, the PCRF unit issues a first speed limit template corresponding to the specified service to a PGW (PDN Gateway), so that the PGW performs speed control on the user terminal by using the first speed limit template. After which no further steps of the present embodiment are performed.
In step 205, the PCRF unit issues a second speed limit template to the PGW, so that the PGW performs speed control on the user terminal by using the second speed limit template.
Optionally, the highest speed limit of the first speed limit template is greater than the highest speed limit of the second speed limit template.
For example, if the PCRF unit learns that the ue is a 4G + ue and the bs supports 4G + services through the RAT value uploaded by the bs, it issues a corresponding first speed limit template (e.g., 300M speed limit template) to the PGW; if the user terminal is known to be a non-4G + terminal or the base station does not support 4G + services, a corresponding second speed limiting template is issued to the PGW, and the highest speed limiting value of the second speed limiting template is smaller than that of the first speed limiting template, so that the speed of the 4G + terminal is accurately matched.
Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of an embodiment of a system for policy configuration according to a type of a user terminal according to the present invention. As shown in fig. 3, the system may include a base station 301 and a PCRF unit 302, where:
the base station 301 is configured to report the device identifier and the base station identifier of the user terminal to the PCRF unit 302 when the user terminal accesses.
Optionally, the base station 301 reports the device identifier of the ue and the base station identifier to the PCRF unit in the form of the RAT value. Because the existing mode is adopted for reporting, the large-scale reconstruction of the existing network is not needed.
The PCRF unit 302 is configured to issue a corresponding speed limit template for the ue according to the received device identifier and the base station identifier of the ue, so as to perform rate control on the ue.
Based on the system for performing policy configuration according to the user terminal type provided by the above embodiment of the present invention, the access base station reports the terminal identifier and the base station identifier of the user terminal, so that the network side can accurately obtain the terminal type of the user terminal, and issues the corresponding speed limit template for the user terminal according to the terminal type of the user terminal and the support capability of the base station, thereby implementing accurate matching of the user terminal speed, and simultaneously, the existing network is not required to be modified in a large scale.
Fig. 4 is a schematic diagram of another embodiment of the system for policy configuration according to the type of the ue in the present invention. Compared with the embodiment shown in fig. 3, in the embodiment shown in fig. 4, in addition to the base station 401 and the PCRF unit 402, a PGW 403 is further included. Wherein:
the PCRF unit 402 specifically determines whether the ue supports the specified service according to the received device identifier of the ue, further determines whether the bs supports the specified service according to the base station identifier if the ue supports the specified service, and issues a first speed limit template corresponding to the specified service to the PGW 403 if the bs supports the specified service.
The PGW 403 is configured to perform speed control on the user terminal using the first speed limit template.
Optionally, the PCRF unit 402 is further configured to issue a second speed limit template to the PGW 403 when the user terminal does not support the specified service or the base station does not support the specified service, so that the PGW 403 performs speed control on the user terminal by using the second speed limit template.
Optionally, the highest speed limit of the first speed limit template is greater than the highest speed limit of the second speed limit template.
The invention is described below by way of a specific example, as shown in fig. 5.
The first terminal 51 is a 4G + terminal, after accessing the first base station 52, the first base station 52 reports a terminal identifier of the first terminal 51 and a base station identifier of the first base station 52 itself to the PCRF unit 55 through an SGW (Serving Gateway) 53 and a PGW 54 in the form of RAT values, and the PCRF unit 55 issues a first speed limit template corresponding to a 4G + service to the PGW 54 after knowing that the first terminal 51 is the 4G + terminal and that the base station supports the 4G + service according to the terminal identifier and the base station identifier, so that the PGW 54 performs rate control on the first terminal 51 by using the first speed limit template.
The second terminal 56 is a non-4G + terminal, after accessing the second base station 57, the second base station 57 reports the terminal identifier of the second terminal 56 and the base station identifier of the second base station 57 to the PCRF unit 55 through the SGW 53 and the PGW 54 in the form of an RAT value, and the PCRF unit 55 issues a second speed limit template corresponding to the non-4G + terminal to the PGW 54 when knowing that the second terminal 56 is the non-4G + terminal according to the terminal identifier and the base station identifier, so that the PGW 54 performs rate control on the second terminal 56 by using the second speed limit template.
By implementing the invention, the network side can have the capability of accurately distinguishing the 4G + user from the common user. By deploying the invention in the 4G existing network, the problem that an EPC core network cannot accurately acquire the 4G + terminal, so that an accurate rate template cannot be issued for the user terminal according to the 4G + supporting capability of the terminal and the base station can be effectively solved.
It will be understood by those skilled in the art that all or part of the steps for implementing the above embodiments may be implemented by hardware, or may be implemented by a program instructing relevant hardware, where the program may be stored in a computer-readable storage medium, and the above-mentioned storage medium may be a read-only memory, a magnetic disk or an optical disk, etc.
The description of the present invention has been presented for purposes of illustration and description, and is not intended to be exhaustive or limited to the invention in the form disclosed. Many modifications and variations will be apparent to practitioners skilled in this art. The embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and the practical application, and to enable others of ordinary skill in the art to understand the invention for various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
