Description

Device for packaging pharmaceutical portions
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a device for packaging pharmaceutical portions.
Background
A so-called blister pack machine is a device for packaging pharmaceutical portions. For example, WO2013/034504a1 describes such a blister packaging machine. The device according to the above mentioned document is used in pharmacies and hospitals or also in blister pack centers in appropriate sizes and automatically combines pharmaceutical compositions from a plurality of pharmaceutical portions by the patient person according to the intake times ordered by the physician. The device packages the pharmaceutical composition corresponding to the instruction data into a package formed by a strip of packaging material, a so-called blister pack, wherein the package leaves the device as a string of blister packs (also called "blister sleeves") for further use. The blister pack in this case usually corresponds to the time of ingestion by the patient, i.e. it contains all the pharmaceutical parts that the patient has to take at the scheduled time of the day. The instruction data itself may be, for example, data originating from a prescription or the like.
The device described in the above-mentioned document, due to its special design, is capable of producing a plurality of (hundreds of) blister packs per hour, and is therefore particularly useful in the case of preparing respective blister packs for a plurality of patients. If the demand for blister pack production speed is not so high, other blister packaging machines are used, since the above mentioned devices are designed more complex in order to achieve high blister pack speeds. In simpler blister packaging machines, a plurality of storage and dispensing stations are arranged in a matrix on or at the holding unit. From the storage and dispensing station, the medicament portions are supplied via a central guide unit to a packaging device which blister packs the provided medicament portions. Alternatively, the provided medicament portions may also be packaged in other ways.
The storage and dispensing station is fixed "from the outside" on the holding unit and the portions of the medicament dispensed from the storage and dispensing station reach the central guide unit via the medicament chute. Since a plurality of different medicaments may be stored in the storage and dispensing station, the guide unit is contaminated by a plurality of different medicament fragments. The drug fragments may be blister-packaged or packaged with the drug portions and may trigger undesirable side effects or allergic reactions when the patient takes the pharmaceutical composition.
Thus, in the case of packaging devices where the packaging speed is not as fast as the above-mentioned devices, it is also necessary to periodically clean the parts of the device that come into contact with the various medicament portions. In the known devices, this cleaning operation is very time-consuming, since the device must first be partly disassembled and then carefully cleaned by hand, in particular the central guide unit.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a device for packaging pharmaceutical portions which reduces the time associated with cleaning outages.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a device for packaging pharmaceutical portions according to patent claim 1. The device according to the invention comprises a frame structure, on which at least one guide unit is fixed, wherein the guide unit has a plurality of receiving openings and at least one dispensing opening. In the device according to the invention, the guide unit is a separate component which may cooperate with the construction or support of the main structure of the device, but is not necessary for the main structure itself.
The device further comprises a plurality of storage and dispensing stations for dispensing a plurality of individual medicament portions, wherein the storage and dispensing stations have a supply storage for medicament portions and a dispensing station for dispensing medicament dispensing channels for individual medicament portions. The individual storage and dispensing stations are connected to a control unit and individual medicament portions may be dispensed from the respective storage and dispensing stations under the control of the control unit.
The device further comprises a holding unit for the storage and dispensing station, wherein the holding unit has a plurality of seats in each of which a medication slide with a receiving opening and a dispensing opening and the storage and dispensing station are arranged, and in particular such that the receiving opening of the medication slide is associated with the medication dispensing channel of the dispensing station and the dispensing opening of the medication slide is associated with the receiving opening of the at least one guide unit. In other words, the medicament slide forms a connecting element between the medicament dispensing channel of the storage and dispensing station and the guide unit, i.e. the isolated medicament portion reaches the guide unit via the medicament slide.
Finally, the device comprises a collecting device for receiving the medicament portions from the at least one guide unit and transferring them to a packaging station for packaging the provided medicament portions, the manner of embodiment of the collecting device not being essential to the invention. Thus, for example, the collecting means may be a belt or a funnel arranged below at least one guiding unit which guides the dispensed medicament portions to the packaging means.
Due to the plurality of different medicament portions dispensed from the storage and dispensing station into the at least one guide unit, the guide unit is quickly contaminated by medicament debris. The higher the degree of contamination by the drug fragments, the greater the risk that the drug fragments will be encapsulated with the combined drug portion. Therefore, regular cleaning of the guide unit is necessary. In order to simplify such cleaning and thus reduce the down time of the device, it is provided: the guide unit is detachably arranged or fixed on the frame structure. Furthermore, according to the present invention, there is provided: the at least one holding unit and the frame structure are fixed on or in the device such that the holding unit and the frame structure are movable relative to each other such that in the access position the at least one guiding unit is accessible from outside the device.
Due to the detachable arrangement of the at least one guide unit on the frame structure, the guide unit can be removed and subsequently the already cleaned guide unit can be arranged in or on the frame structure. The combination of the above-mentioned features according to the invention enables the cleaning of the device to be carried out substantially more quickly. All storage and dispensing stations located on the holding unit are removed from the at least one guide unit by a single movement and the guide unit is removed and replaced with a clean guide unit. Cumbersome cleaning of permanently mounted guide units as required in the prior art is avoided.
Depending on the type of pharmaceutical composition contemplated and the number of pharmaceutical parts to be packaged, one guiding unit or a plurality of guiding units may be used in the device according to the invention. For example, if it is intended to pack only a small number of pharmaceutical compositions, only a guide unit with only one internal guide channel may be used, wherein the pharmaceutical portion enters the guide channel via the receiving opening and exits again via the dispensing opening.
Alternatively, a guide unit with a plurality of guide channels can be used, wherein each guide channel is then associated with a plurality of receiving openings and one dispensing opening. It is also conceivable to use a plurality of guide units with one or more guide channels.
The holding unit for the storage and dispensing station is for example preferably fixed such that it is pivotable on the frame structure. In this case, the entire holding unit together with the storage and dispensing station fixed thereto can be pivoted away from the guide unit, so that a direct access to the guide unit is possible. Embodiments of the respective device have a simple design and a cost-effective implementation.
As an alternative to the pivoting of the at least one holding unit on the frame structure, it is possible, for example, to displace the at least one holding unit and the guide unit parallel to one another, i.e. the frame structure relative to the fixed holding unit or the holding unit relative to the fixed frame structure. For this purpose, a displacement mechanism, which is known to the person skilled in the art, is installed in the device.
As already indicated, the guide unit is detachably arranged or fixed on the frame structure. In order to make the fastest possible removal from the frame structure, provision is made in a preferred embodiment for: at least one guide unit is embodied such that an adapted detachable connection exists between the guide unit and the frame structure. Furthermore, this has the advantage that no special tools are required to remove the guide unit from the frame structure. According to the invention, the guide unit or a combination of guide units may for example be suspended on a special base of the frame structure. The other fixing of the guide unit is not absolutely necessary, since it is fixed by the holding unit itself during the "closing" of the device.
In addition to the guide unit, the drug slide is a component that is heavily contaminated with drug debris, so that frequent cleaning of the drug slide is also necessary, especially when a storage and dispensing station (which has drug that is offset from previously stored co-located drug) is used with the drug slide. In the prior art, the medication slide is typically an integral part of the holding unit, the storage and dispensing station or the guiding unit. This has the consequence that the above-mentioned components have a complex structure and are therefore complex to clean. According to the present invention, there is provided: the drug slide is removably secured to the base of at least one holding unit so that they can be easily removed for cleaning and replaced with a cleaned drug slide. For the reasons mentioned above, it is particularly preferred that the drug slide is implemented such that a fitted detachable connection exists between the drug slide and the holding unit.
The collecting means may for example be embodied as a conveyor belt transporting the dispensed drug portions to the packaging means. With the respective embodiment of the conveyor belt, for example with the separating means arranged on the conveyor belt, it is also possible to use the conveyor belt for simultaneously delivering a plurality of pharmaceutical compositions. However, with regard to the reliability of the separation of the individual pharmaceutical compositions, it is impractical and only difficult to provide a conveyor belt with a plurality of separation means.
In a preferred embodiment of the device according to the invention, there is thus provided: the collecting device includes a plurality of collecting units serving as temporary medicine storage portions. In this case, one collecting unit is usually associated with one guiding unit, so that a plurality of drug formulations can be prepared in parallel, which can then be transferred after completion, for example by opening a closing flap valve of the collecting unit, to a funnel or the like, via which the packaging device is reached.
Alternatively, the collection units may also be fixed on a rotating conveyor belt and may be guided past under the guide units, such that each collection unit may be guided past each guide unit (and thus at each storage and dispensing station), which increases the number of different drug portions that may be used for the pharmaceutical composition. As soon as the collecting unit is guided past or through the packaging device by means of the conveyor belt, the medicament portions temporarily stored in the collecting unit are transferred to the packaging device.
In order to prevent fragments of medicament from hanging on the medicament slide or guide unit and being absorbed or entrained by subsequent medicament portions, in a preferred embodiment: the drug slide and/or the guide unit have an anti-adhesive coating on the inside. The sticking of the pieces of medicine formed during operation is prevented, they fall through the device and may be arranged in special areas provided for this purpose.
During cleaning of the device, typically all of the drug slide is removed and replaced with a cleaned drug slide. The number of these drug slides is large, so that it may happen that: during replacement of a contaminated drug skid, one or more of the pedestals are not provided with a cleaned drug skid. Thus, the medicament portions of these locations do not reach the desired associated guide unit after being dispensed by the dispensing station, which in turn has the following result: the drug moiety does not reach the pharmaceutical composition as provided, making it deficient. To prevent neglect of replacement of the drug slide during cleaning of the device, in a preferred embodiment: the device has a plurality of sensor units that detect the presence of all of the drug ramps. If it is verified that one or more drug skids are missing after the closure device, a tone or another notification, e.g., a message on a display unit, may be output requesting insertion of the missing drug skid.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a cross-sectional view of a first embodiment of a device for packaging medicament portions according to the invention. In this first embodiment, a plurality of guide units (20) are installed, which are embodied as rectangular downpipes with a plurality of receiving openings 21 and one distribution opening 22, wherein the receiving openings 21 and the distribution opening 22 are shown only in fig. 1. In the embodiment shown, a plurality of guide units are arranged in parallel adjacent to each other and form a bundle of guide units, wherein the guide units may be connected to each other. The two beams are arranged parallel one behind the other, which is not visible in fig. 1, however (see fig. 3a in this respect). The individual guide units are each suspended on a suspension 13 of the frame structure 10, so that a snug connection is formed between the guide units and the suspension. Each guide unit comprises a guide channel (not shown in fig. 1) to which the medicament portions are supplied via the receiving openings 21.
The frame structure 10 comprises at least one horizontal beam and at least two vertical beams 12 at the beam edges of the guiding units, wherein a suspension 13 is fixed on the horizontal beam 11. The frame structure 10 forms a structure arranged inside the device to which the guiding unit is detachably fixed, however, the guiding unit itself does not form part of the internal support structure of the device according to the invention, but can instead be completely removed from the device without damaging the internal support structure.
The device according to the invention further comprises a holding unit 40, which can be seen in the background in the illustration according to fig. 1 and is described in more detail with reference to the following figures. The holding unit 40 serves to hold a plurality of drug skids and storage and dispensing stations and align them with respect to the guide unit.
The collecting device 50 is arranged below the guide unit 20, wherein it comprises in the first embodiment shown a plurality of collecting units 52 which are fixed on a rotating conveyor belt 53 (only indicated) and which move below the guide unit. The collecting units 52 are thus aligned for a certain period of time at the guiding units so that the drug portions can be transferred from the guiding units into the specific collecting units. The collecting device 50 further comprises a funnel 51 into which the collected drug portions can be transferred from the collecting unit 52 (e.g. by opening a closed flap valve at a specific position above the funnel). The pharmaceutical composition formed by the pharmaceutical portion passes from the hopper 51 to a packaging device 60 (only schematically shown) which is used to package the pharmaceutical composition. Whether the pharmaceutical composition is blister-packaged or packaged in another way depends, for example, on the respective circumstances.
Said packaging means 60, collecting means 50 and storage and dispensing station (not shown) are coupled to a control unit 60 via which the individual components of the device according to the invention are activated.
Fig. 2 shows a cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of the device according to the invention, wherein the second embodiment largely corresponds to the first embodiment and only those aspects deviating from the first embodiment are described below.
As can be seen in the upper part of fig. 2, the guiding units of the second embodiment are only fixed via two suspensions 13 inside the device, i.e. the bundles of guiding units 20 are each assembled into one or two packages. The packaging of the guide unit can only be removed as a whole, which is advantageous with regard to the duration of the replacement of the guide unit, but also requires that a plurality of guide units always be replaced.
The collecting device 50 is also arranged below the guiding unit in this embodiment, however, it does not comprise a plurality of collecting units as in the first embodiment, but only one large collecting funnel 51, which supplies the packaging device 60 coupled to the control unit 70 with the pharmaceutical composition. In this embodiment, the storage and dispensing stations (not shown) are also coupled to the control unit 70 such that they may each be independently actuated to dispense a medicament portion.
The device according to the invention is not limited to the two embodiments mentioned above. Thus, for example, particular features of one embodiment may be combined with features of another embodiment. For example, it is conceivable to combine a collecting device with a plurality of collecting units with the manner of the embodiment of the guiding unit according to the second embodiment.
Fig. 3a and 3b show a detailed view of a part of the second embodiment. As can be seen in both figures, the device comprises two bundles of guiding elements 20 arranged in parallel behind one another, wherein the guiding elements or bundles are arranged such that the receiving openings 21 of the guiding elements 20 are arranged opposite and remote from the middle plane between the bundles. A corresponding arrangement of the guide units is advisable in particular when two holding units 40 each having a plurality of storage and dispensing stations are installed, as will be shown in more detail with respect to fig. 4a and 4 b.
According to the present invention, there is provided: at least one holding unit 40 and a frame structure 10 fixed on or in the device such that the holding unit 40 and the frame structure 10 are movable relative to each other such that the guide unit 20 can be brought into an entry position from the outside. In a second embodiment of the device according to the invention, this relative movement of the frame structure and the holding unit with respect to each other is implemented in that the holding unit 40 is arranged such that it can pivot.
As can be inferred in particular from fig. 3a, the holding unit 40 is embodied as a door comprising a vertical holding plane 45 and substantially horizontal and vertical frame elements 46 and 47, wherein the frame elements 46 and 47 as will be described hereinafter with reference to fig. 3c form a kind of protective frame for a plurality of storage and dispensing stations.
As already indicated, the arrangement of the guide unit 20 requires that the first and second embodiments of the device according to the invention each comprise two holding units 40 which are pivotable with respect to the guide unit, in particular about pivot axes SA1 and SA2 indicated in fig. 3a and 3 b. To effect such pivoting, a corresponding pivot joint is provided on the "rear" vertical beam 12 or other additional component or device of the frame structure 10 itself. In fig. 3a, a corresponding pivot joint 14 for a second holding unit 40 (not shown) is shown.
Fig. 3b shows a rear view of the example according to fig. 3a, wherein it can be well seen that: the two bundle guiding units are "back-to-back" and the respective receiving mouths 21 are arranged opposite to each other. The guide unit thus has in this embodiment a plurality of receiving openings 21 "outwards", i.e. away from the central plane of the device.
In fig. 3b, the holding unit 40 is shown only on the right side. The holding unit, as described in more detail with respect to fig. 3c, comprises a plurality of storage and dispensing stations, of which only the dispensing station 32 is indicated for the sake of clarity.
Each dispensing station is associated with a medication slide 42 (only indicated) which extends through the retaining plane 45 and provides a connection between the medication dispensing channel of the dispensing station and the receiving opening of the guide unit. The dispensing station itself therefore does not extend partially through the retaining plane, but is arranged or fixed "from the outside".
Fig. 3c illustrates how the dispensing station 32 of the storage and dispensing station is arranged on the holding unit 40 or at the holding unit 40. The storage and distribution stations are arranged in a matrix, which is surrounded and protected by the horizontal and vertical frame elements 46, 47 of the holding unit. The dispensing station 32 is (detachably) fixed on the holding plane 45 of the holding unit 40, and the supply storage 31 (not shown) is detachably placed on the dispensing station 32.
Fig. 4a and 4b show detailed views of parts of a second embodiment, wherein two holding units 40 are illustrated in these figures, which are arranged such that they are pivotable inside the device. As shown in fig. 3a, 3b, the holding units 40 are mounted in the device such that they can be pivoted using a pivot joint (not shown here).
In the figures, the "rear" or "left" holding unit 40 is shown in a closed state, i.e. a state in which the storage and dispensing station and the medicament slide are aligned on the guide unit. The "front" or "right" holding unit 40 has been pivoted away from the guiding unit to some extent, in particular about the pivot axis SA 2. All guide units 20 and retaining unit drug slides inside the device can be accessed by pivoting open or away of the entire retaining unit 40. However, the position shown in fig. 4a and 4b has not been adapted for unobstructed access to the above mentioned components. In order to enter without obstruction, the holding unit 40 must be pivoted further away from the guide unit.
As shown in fig. 4b, the guide unit 20 can be embodied in several parts, in particular in two parts, wherein the half 20a facing the holding unit 40 has a receiving opening 21 in the embodiment shown. The half 20b facing the middle of the device comprises a guide channel 23 with a protrusion that will slow down the descent of the drug portion inside the guide unit. Furthermore, in fig. 4b the guide unit is shown internally provided with a release coating 24 which prevents sticking of broken drug fragments.
In the embodiment shown, each guide unit 20 comprises a guide channel 23. As already indicated, the guide unit can also be designed differently in alternative embodiments. Thus, for example, a guide unit having a plurality of guide channels or two guide units each having a plurality of guide channels may be used. In the simplest case, only one guide unit with at least one guide channel can be used. The respective distribution/arrangement of the receiving openings and the distribution openings depends on the exact number and design of the guide channels.
Fig. 5a to 5c show detailed views of a holding unit 40, which holding unit 40 has a plurality of dispensing stations 32 fixed thereto. The plurality of dispensing stations are portions of the storage and dispensing station 30. In the view according to fig. 5a, the two rows of dispensing stations 32 and the medicament slides associated therewith are omitted and it can be seen that the holding plane 45 of the holding unit 40 has a plurality of seats 41. The base 41 is embodied in this embodiment as openings in the retaining plane 45, and the medicament slide 42 is arranged in these openings in a fitting and detachable manner (see fig. 5b, 5c in this respect). The projections 48 are embodied on respective bases 41 of the dispensing station 32 which can hold the storage and dispensing station 30.
As can be gathered in particular from fig. 5b, a medication slide 42 is usually provided in each foot 41, via which medication portions can be guided from the dispensing channel of the dispensing station into a guide unit.
As already described, it is particularly preferred to have the medicament slide 42 arranged on the base 41 in a fitting manner. As can be inferred from fig. 5c, the medication slide 42 is in the shown embodiment simply inserted into the seat 41, wherein the receiving opening 43 is pressed against the medication dispensing channel 33 of the dispensing channel 32. The dispensing opening 44 of the medication slide is aligned with the receiving opening of the guide unit (in the closed state of the device).
Figure 5c also shows that the drug slide has a release coating 49b that prevents or makes more difficult the sticking of drug fragments. Furthermore, the holding unit 40 comprises in the embodiment shown a plurality of sensors 49a detecting the presence of the drug slide. The arrangement and number of sensors depends on their exact structure and is only described here. The sensor may be connected to the control unit of the device and the absence of the drug slide may be displayed centrally. In addition, it is contemplated that the sensor determines the degree of soiling of the medication slide and sends it to the control unit.
Fig. 6a and 6b show detailed views of a third embodiment of the device according to the invention. In this third embodiment, in contrast to the two embodiments described above, instead of double-layer guide units each having a receiving opening facing only one side, single-layer guide units arranged in parallel are installed, which have receiving openings 21 facing both sides of the guide units, wherein fig. 6a and 6b only show receiving openings 21 which are not covered by retaining unit 40. In the illustrated embodiment, the medicament portions may be dispensed into the guide unit from storage and dispensing stations on both sides of the guide unit.
In a first and a second embodiment of the device according to the invention, the holding units are mounted such that they are pivotable in the device. The possibilities required for the relative movement of the holding unit or the guide unit according to the invention are embodied differently in the third embodiment, in particular by providing a sliding mechanism at the lower end of the holding unit 40. A guide rail 101, in which rollers 102 are guided at the lower end of the holding unit, is provided on the base plate 100 of the device according to the invention. In contrast to a sliding door, the holding unit 40 with all storage and dispensing stations and drug slides can be pushed away from the guide unit 20, thereby providing the possibility of entering the guide unit and drug slides. Alternatively, the frame structure 10 may be mounted such that it is displaceable within the device such that the guiding unit can be pushed out of the composition holding unit/guiding unit/holding unit.
Of course, two particular features described in relation to the third embodiment of the device according to the invention may be combined with other features described in relation to only the first and second embodiments of the invention.
