牵引电池64还包括托盘84和冷却单元或歧管。在一些实施例(诸如图3和图4示出的实施例)中,托盘和歧管是被设计为完成两个任务的单个部件。在示出的实施例中,托盘84在牵引电池64的底部上并且支撑阵列66。在其它实施例中,托盘84可以在侧壁76中的一个上、或者在阵列66的顶部74上。托盘84包括互相连接以限定主体的顶部86、底部88、纵向侧壁90、前壁92和后壁94。(应理解,术语“顶部”、“底部”等用于描述性惯例,并且电池可在车辆上以多个不同的方位被封装。)顶部86具有限定凹进顶部86的敞口通道98的外表面96。敞口通道98可沿着托盘84的大部分长度纵向延伸,并且可沿着托盘84的大部分宽度横向延伸。通道98的尺寸虽然略小一点但是可接近阵列66的底部72(或者取决于实施例的其它侧)的尺寸。敞口通道98包括限定通道98的边界的底部100和侧壁102。(示出的实施例的)侧壁102的一部分可以是阶梯式的,以包括下竖直面104、平台106和上竖直面108。前壁92可限定与敞口通道98流体连通的入口端口110,后壁94可限定与敞口通道流体连通的出口端口112。在其它实施例中,所述端口均可位于同一侧壁上。在示出的实施例中,冷却剂从前壁92通过通道98流动到后壁94(或者反之亦然)。但是,在其它实施例中,通道可包括中心分隔件,并且冷却剂可以以U形图案流入和流出位于同一壁上的端口。
阵列66连接到托盘84,使得阵列66覆盖在敞口通道98上方以限定冷却剂室114。冷却剂室114被构造为在入口端口110和出口端口112之间循环液体冷却剂(诸如,乙二醇)以热调节电池单元50。冷却剂室114由托盘84与阵列66的底部72共同限定。因此,阵列的底部72(其由每个电池单元的底部的集合组成)与在此使用的液体冷却剂直接接触,术语“直接接触”涵盖液体冷却剂接触电池单元的罐的情况,并且涵盖液体冷却剂接触介电外罩的情况。在操作期间,使相对冷的冷却剂循环跨过每个电池单元的底部以从阵列66移除热,从而将电池单元温度保持在期望的范围内。牵引电池64还可被配置为通过使相对暖的冷却剂循环跨过每个电池单元50的底部来对阵列66增加热以加热电池单元。
与传统的冷却板设计相比,使液体冷却剂直接接触电池单元通过从系统中消除冷却板顶部的热阻和TIM的热阻而减小了冷却系统的热阻。与传统设计相比,这在电池单元与冷却剂之间建立更高效的热传递。
在示出的实施例中,阵列66的底部72设置在平台106上。托架70可包括抓住端子侧56的钩116和机械地紧固到平台106以将阵列66附连到托盘84的底脚(foot)118。可选地,阵列66可经由粘合剂或粘合剂与机械紧固件的组合被固定到托盘84。阵列66与托盘84之间的界面120必须是液密的以防止冷却剂从冷却剂室114中泄漏出去。为了防止泄漏,可在界面120处施加密封材料。密封材料可以是垫片、硅树脂(诸如,室温硫化型(RTV)密封材料)、膏、粘合剂等。
参照图5,另一牵引电池150包括电池阵列152,电池阵列152包括多个电池单元154。每个电池单元包括主侧158、副侧186和具有至少一个端子156设置在其上的端子侧。电池单元被布置在阵列152中使得主侧158彼此抵靠设置。每个电池单元154可包括包围电池单元的至少一部分的介电材料。所述介电材料可与上面描述的介电材料类似。电池单元154通过端板与托架协作而被紧紧地保持在一起以在每个电池单元154之间产生液密密封。
歧管160抵靠着阵列152的纵向侧153设置。歧管包括与纵向侧153接触的内侧162和背向阵列的外侧164。歧管160还包括顶部166和底部168。歧管160限定敞口通道170,敞口通道170被构造为输送液体冷却剂跨过阵列的纵向侧153。歧管160的一个或更多个侧限定端口172,端口172根据端口的类型允许冷却剂流入或流出通道170。例如,示出的端口172可以是入口端口,歧管可包括在歧管的另一端上的出口端口(未示出)。
阵列152连接到歧管160,使得阵列覆盖在敞口通道170上方以限定冷却剂室174。冷却剂室174被构造为使液体冷却剂(诸如,乙二醇)在入口端口和出口端口之间循环以热调节电池单元154。冷却剂室174由歧管160与阵列152的纵向侧153共同限定。因此,阵列的纵向侧153(其由每个电池单元的副侧186集合组成)与液体冷却剂直接接触。在操作期间,使相对冷的冷却剂循环跨过每个电池单元的副侧186以从阵列移除热,从而将电池单元温度保持在期望的范围内。牵引电池150还可被构造为通过使相对暖的冷却剂循环跨过每个电池单元来对阵列增加热以加热电池单元。
阵列152与歧管160之间的界面176必须是液密的以防止冷却剂从冷却剂室174中泄漏出去。为了防止泄漏,可在界面176处施加密封材料。密封材料可以是垫片、硅树脂(诸如,RTV)、膏、粘合剂等。阵列152和歧管160可利用紧固件、粘合剂或两者而被连接到一起。
电池150还包括支撑阵列152、歧管160和其它未示出的辅助部件的托盘178。托盘178包括第一侧184。电池阵列152和歧管160的底部168可经由紧固件、粘合剂或两者被附连到第一侧184。罩180可设置在阵列152和歧管160上方,并且附连到托盘178以包围电池。罩180和托盘178可协作以形成电池壳体。

Claims (7)

1.一种用于车辆的牵引电池,包括:
托盘,包括限定敞口通道的外表面,所述敞口通道被构造为循环液体冷却剂;
多个电池单元,被堆叠成阵列并且每个电池单元包括包围电池单元的至少一部分的介电材料,其中,所述阵列被设置在所述外表面上并且覆盖所述敞口通道,使得在操作期间所述阵列的侧面与冷却剂直接接触。
2.如权利要求1所述的牵引电池,其中,所述托盘还包括侧壁,所述侧壁限定与所述敞口通道流体连通的端口。
3.如权利要求1所述的牵引电池,还包括密封材料,所述密封材料围绕所述敞口通道的周边设置,并且被夹在所述阵列与所述托盘之间以防止冷却剂泄漏。
4.如权利要求3所述的牵引电池,其中,所述密封材料是垫片或硅树脂。
5.如权利要求1所述的牵引电池,还包括端板,所述端板将所述阵列和连接在所述端板之间的托架夹在中间,其中,所述端板和托架协作压紧电池单元以在相邻的电池单元之间产生液密密封。
6.如权利要求1所述的牵引电池,还包括被设置在每个电池单元之间以在相邻的电池单元之间产生液密密封的密封材料。
7.如权利要求1所述的牵引电池,还包括罩,所述罩包围所述阵列且连接到所述托盘,其中,所述托盘和所述罩协作以限定电池壳体。
