技术领域

背景技术
多年来珠宝商和宝石学家已知某些宝石(例如,钻石)中存在磷光体。就钻石来说,磷光体可以以氮、氢和硼的杂质原子的形式出现。这些磷光体在自然光条件下大部分不可检测。然而,在紫外光下,磷光体可在橙色、蓝色、黄色或绿色的色调(shades)中发荧光。荧光指在被暴露到UV辐射源时,物质通过吸收的UV辐射而发光的性质。美国宝石学院已经估计钻石中的约25%到35%具有一定程度的荧光。
