背景技术
水力压裂是用于提高来自含烃储层的油气的产量的常规增产技术。在典型的水力压裂操作中,将压裂流体以高压和高速率泵送经过穿透地层的井筒,从而初始化并扩展在所述层(formation)中的水力压裂。接续的步骤典型地包括向压裂流体中添加被称为支撑剂的粒状物质(例如级配砂、陶瓷颗粒、铝矾土或树脂涂覆砂),其被压裂流体担载进入裂缝中。支撑剂沉积进入裂缝,形成可渗透的“支撑剂充填层”。一旦压裂处理结束,裂缝在允许维持裂缝的支撑剂充填层上闭合,由此为所述层中的烃提供通路从而更容易地流入用于回收的井筒中。
二氧化碳(CO2)用于从含烃储层中生产油气的用途是公知的。针对油气层的压裂处理而利用二氧化碳(CO2)已在水敏且低压的层中具有特定的优点。特别地,CO2使得在所使用的水的体积方面的显著降低成为可能,并且促进了压裂处理之后水从层的回流。当暴露于水基流体时,层会长时间地捕获水,这可能会导致降低对烃的渗透性并降低油井的生产率。除此之外,层中的一些粘土可能会在水的存在下溶胀,或者穿过层而迁移,导致多孔性的封闭或阻塞,这又导致了生产率的损害。因此,减少引入到油井中的水的量可以导致减少层的损伤。另外,用于水力压裂的水的可获得性还可能在某些对油气生产而言受到关注的地形中是受限的,由此呈现出对实际回收这些资源而言的经济或监管障碍。
如上所述,以高压和高速率泵入压裂流体。由压裂泵产生的压力被称为“表面处理压力”,并且很大程度上是在层中生成裂缝所需要的应力、泵和层之间的压裂流体摩擦压力损失、和静水压头中的变化的函数。表面处理压力可以高至10,000 psig或更多,其取决于特定的油井需求和压力容量。所需要的压裂流体流速很大程度上是扩展裂缝所需的流和滤失到层中的流体的函数。此外,流速必须足以担载支撑剂材料(具有在低流速下沉降的倾向),并且典型而言为10至120 bpm(桶每分钟),其取决于特定油井的需求和裂缝设计。井筒通常可以从浅垂直井中的数千英尺扩展到大位移(long-reach)水平井中的一万或两万英尺或更多。常规的井筒套管尺寸为4 1/2英寸和5 1/2英寸,压裂流体经由其泵入。还可以使用油管,其具有2 3/8英寸或2 7/8英寸的常规标称直径,经由油井套管插入从而担载压裂流体。这是例如当套管不足够强以支持所需的流体压力时而进行的。
如可以领会的那样,常常存在由于高流速、小的套管或油管直径、长井筒或这些因素的组合而招致极高的摩擦压降的情况。为了克服在常规的压裂流体中经受的高压降,使用减摩剂(也通常称为减阻剂)。这些减摩剂通常为高分子量的水溶性聚合物,其被直接添加并溶解于水性压裂流体中,并且已显示出降低摩擦压力损失高达约70%。
使用在水载液中采用减摩剂的“减阻水(slickwater)”压裂流体在工业中是公知的。在减阻水中使用的常规的减摩剂是高分子量(典型为5,000,000至20,000,000 g/mol)的聚丙烯酰胺,其通常以反相乳液或者油包水乳液的形式来提供。在减阻水中使用的减摩剂的浓度通常为约0.25 gpt(加仑每千)至2 gpt。在设计减摩剂体系方面的一个关键考虑是需要将减摩剂快速溶解于压裂流体中,由此允许减摩剂尽可能快地变得有效,这是由于通常而言从添加减摩剂直至压裂流体最初进入井筒时的时间只有数秒左右。
在高分子量聚合物作为对CO2而言的减摩剂的用途方面已发表了有限的工作。Gupta等人的美国专利申请公告第2012/0037371 A1号公开了聚氯丁二烯、乙酸乙烯酯聚合物、聚环氧烷烃和聚α-烯烃在可以进一步包括CO2的非水性载液中作为减摩剂的用途。Carville等人的美国专利第4,573,488 A号公开了环氧丁烷的均聚物或共聚物在非水性载液中用于减摩的用途。
本发明提供在压裂地层中使用的包括气体和用作减摩剂的含氟聚合物的流体。该流体混合物可以包括添加至压裂流体的支撑剂。气体组分将以流体组合物的至少80重量%的量包含二氧化碳(CO2)。已发现,通过使用本发明的压裂流体组合物,可以实现一个或多个下述目的:
可以形成具有降低的摩擦损失特性的基于CO2的压裂处理流体,并且减摩剂将减少处理层所需的泵送设备和功率,并且在其它情况中,减摩剂将使得能够实现更高的待用于处理层的压裂流体流速;此外,本公开的方法可以通过使用非水性压裂流体从而提供降低的对井层的损害。

发明内容
根据本发明的一个方面,提供压裂流体组合物。所述压裂流体组合物包括:(i)二氧化碳(CO2)以及(ii)减摩聚合物,其以流体组合物的0.001至0.4重量%的量存在,其中,所述减摩聚合物具有大于100,000 g/mol的重均分子量并包含至少含氟丙烯酸酯单体,其中,所述减摩聚合物至少部分可溶于CO2。

具体实施方式
本发明涉及在二氧化碳(CO2)中溶解相对低浓度(约0.001至0.4重量%)的高分子量聚合物以起减摩剂的作用,从而在给定的压裂流体流速下节省泵送功率,或者使得在仅使用CO2的情况下由于过高的压降而不可能的压裂流体流速的使用变得可能。已进行了许多研究长链、高分子量聚合物在高压CO2和超临界CO2中的溶解度以提高粘度的工作,其主要用于改进CO2在提高采收率(EOR)方法中的应用。
CO2是非极性化合物并且通常是贫溶剂。短链、低分子量的化合物倾向于比长链、高分子量的化合物更可溶于CO2。已在先前报告,许多氟化的聚合物在高温和高压条件下是高度CO2亲和性的。已作出的通常结论是,可以通过使用氟化的取代基来提高聚合物或者共聚物在CO2中的溶解度。
减摩剂
减摩剂是可以在非水性载液中降低摩擦压力损失并且可以溶解于CO2的含氟聚合物。任何向工业气体中按需添加的减摩剂包括但不限于聚(丙烯酸-1-,1-,二氢全氟辛酯)(PFOA);含氟丙烯酸酯单体 (丙烯酸-1-,1-,2-,2-四氢十七氟癸酯);苯乙烯 (含氟丙烯酸酯-苯乙烯共聚物)(polyFAST);含氟丙烯酸酯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物;和氟化的聚氨酯二硫酸盐。
LCO2
可用于压裂层的CO2通常呈液体形式,其通常具有2,000至10,000 psig的压力和低于88℉的温度。可能的是,在高压压裂泵后的某些点处,CO2的温度将提升至高于88℉,并且压力将高于1056 psig,导致CO2以超临界态存在。CO2意图为干燥/非水性的且含有基于载液的总重量而言5重量%或更少的水。在一些情况下的实施方案中,压裂流体可以含有1重量%或更少的水,或者基本不含水。
支撑剂
支撑剂可以与本申请的压裂流体混合。可以采用任何合适的支撑剂。支撑剂通常公知用于压裂流体中。合适的支撑剂的实例包括级配砂、玻璃或陶瓷珠粒或颗粒、铝矾土粒、树脂涂覆砂、胡桃壳碎片及上述的组合。
支撑剂公知地以每加仑的压裂流体组合物约0.05至约14磅的浓度来使用 ,但也可以使用更高或更低的浓度以按需用于特定的压裂设计。
实施例
为了表征含氟聚合物作为CO2的减摩剂的效力,将含氟丙烯酸酯和苯乙烯共聚物的样品与CO2组合以形成单相溶液。评估分子量为~200,000 g/mol和~+500,000 g/mol的29摩尔%苯乙烯和71摩尔%含氟丙烯酸酯(基于丙烯酸-2-(全氟己基)乙酯单体)(也称为PolyFast)的两种统计共聚物以及估算分子量为~500,000至1,000,000 g/mol的丙烯酸-2-(全氟己基)乙酯均聚物的减摩潜势。样品由匹兹堡大学研发和制备。
使各自形成的溶液在约70℉的室温下以不同的速率流经窄直径油管的一定长度,并且测量所得的压降并与用纯CO2观测到的那些进行对比。溶液的较低压降表示摩擦压力损失减少。将实验数据用于计算范宁(Fanning)摩擦因子,并计算相对于纯CO2的范宁摩擦因子降低,且作为“减摩百分率”给出。含氟聚合物的目的在于减少CO2的摩擦压力损失。这以对于固定流速的流体而言经过导管长度测量的压降方面的减少的方式而变得明显。如本领域所公知的那样,在给定管道中流动的流体在摩擦压力损失方面的倾向适当地作为如下式1中表示的范宁摩擦因子来表达,并且通常相对于流动流体的雷诺数给出。另外,经由添加剂的使用产生的摩擦减小适当地通过相对于纯流体的范宁摩擦因子的范宁摩擦因子减少来给出,并且在本文中称为“减摩百分率”,并简写为“FR%”,如式2中表示的那样。
实施例1:
参照图1和表1,如下更详细地描述第一实验构造和程序:
测试装置包括两个Teledyne Isco型号500HP注射泵100和200,其以经由两个可替换路径的流体连通来连接:(i) 含有盘绕的6英尺长的1/16英寸不锈钢油管150且具有0.022英寸内径的路径,和(ii) 包含含有100 cc观察室(view-cell)160的1/4英寸油管的路径。盘绕区段经设计以对流动流体赋予显著压降,而观察室使得能够目测聚合物样品并将其预装载到体系中。
所述两个泵经由Teledyne Isco控制箱170 来控制,并以使得能够将流体在一次递送中从一个泵经由盘管150或观察室160泵送至另一个泵,并在第二递送中再返回等方式来运行。设置供应泵(100或200,根据阶段而定)以控制流体流速,并设置接收泵(200或100,根据阶段而定)以控制下游流体压力。
通过将预定质量的聚合物添加到观察室160中并密封来准备各实验运行。通过位于管线101和102上游的气瓶(cylinder)(未示出)提供气态和液态 CO2。该体系首先通过打开阀110而被经由与管线101连接的气瓶(未示出)的CO2蒸气加压。一部分气体通过打开阀230和240从体系中排出以从该体系中移除任何空气,然后关闭阀110。然后通过打开阀120将液体经管线102经由具有安装的汲取管(dip tube)的气罐传送至该体系。
一旦该体系被液体灌装,则关闭阀130和140。将预定体积的CO2经管线101抽送到泵100中。然后通过关闭阀120将泵100与源气罐隔离,然后将其用于使CO2的压力提高至3,000 psig。体系压力通过打开阀130和140提升至3,000 psig。然后关闭阀140,然后将一部分液体经含有压降盘管150的管线103从泵100传送至泵200。然后通过打开阀140并关闭阀130将聚合物材料溶解在CO2混合物中,然后经管线104将泵200的内容物递送到泵100中,然后逆流并将泵100的内容物递送到泵200中。重复该过程直到经由观察室160持续观察到澄清混合物,表明聚合物溶解在CO2中。通过经由管线103和104递送流体内容物来重复该过程直到聚合物均匀地溶解在CO2中,并且混合物停留在泵100中,准备用于测试。
为了测量混合物的摩擦损失特性,通过关闭阀140和220来隔离观察室160和管线104。然后将流体经由盘管150以在10至165 ml/分钟的范围内递增的流速从泵100泵送至泵200,其中在各情况下将下游压力控制在3,000 psig。在各流速下,使用热电偶T100和T200以及压力传感器P100和P200在盘管150的每一个末端测量流体温度和压力。接着计算跨盘管150的压力读数之差以给出对于各流体流速而言的压降。将压力P100和P200的中点和温度T100和T200的中点用于计算以估算在各流速下流体在盘管150中的平均密度,然后用于确定范宁摩擦因子。所有测试在约70℉的室温和从盘管150的上游侧上约4,000 psig的最大值到盘管150的下游侧上3,000 psig的受控值而变化的压力下运行。在这些运行中的每一个结束时,将混合物经由观察室160递送回到泵200,并且目视检查混合物以确保在每次运行后聚合物完全处于溶液中(呈现为澄清液体)或者在每次运行后聚合物是否没有完全处于溶液中(呈现为浑浊液体)。
在完成每次初始实验运行后,将预定部分的溶液从系统中经管线201排出,并经泵100用新鲜的CO2替换,然后根据上文中描述的相同方法进行彻底混合。这产生富CO2和贫聚合物的新组合物。当充分混合并经由观察室160流动时,目视检查该混合物以查看聚合物完全处于溶液中。将所述整个稀释、混合、目视检查和摩擦损失表征过程重复若干次。
图2提供了在10至165 ml/分钟的流速(对应于2.2至36.8 ft/秒的盘管150中的平均线速度和3,500至58,000的雷诺数)下两个实验的结果,其中,制备+500,000 MW的含氟丙烯酸酯和苯乙烯共聚物(PolyFast)样品在CO2中的0.25重量%溶液,并将其根据上文所述的方法用CO2降低浓度至0.125重量%。如图2所示,随着添加更多的CO2,聚合物的浓度下降并且降低了减阻效率。在商业领域应用中,优选的是最小化添加至CO2的聚合物的量,并且最大化可实现的减摩百分率;因此,该聚合物在CO2中的约0.25重量%的组合物将会是优选的。
下表1总结了在100和150 ml/分钟的流速(对应于22至33 ft/秒的盘管150中的平均线速度)下针对以多个CO2中的聚合物浓度使用200,000 MW和500,000 MW含氟丙烯酸酯和苯乙烯共聚物(PolyFast)的多个实验而言的结果。对于每个所进行的实验,给出组成、压降和减摩百分率值。

由在实验3至6中收集的数据可以看出,以相似的浓度得到了相似的压降和减摩百分率值。可以总结,高于0.25%的浓度方面的增加对于200,000 MW的共聚物样品而言是不必要的。由实验7至10可以看出,最优的聚合物浓度是约0.25%(产生与纯CO2相比9%至13%的摩擦减小)或更高。除此之外,可以由实验总结出,所实现的减摩百分率随着聚合物分子量而增加,并且优选最高的平均分子量。
图3提供了使用含氟丙烯酸酯均聚物样品在CO2中的0.50重量%溶液的摩擦减小结果。受试的盘管150的内径稍大,预期为大约0.0245英寸。该图显示出摩擦减小在~1,900至~32,000之间的雷诺数(对应于10至165 ml/分钟的流速和1.8至29.7 ft/秒的盘管150中的平均线速度)下受益。具有改变的尺寸分布(因此还有分子量)的聚合物以预期为大约~1,000,000 g/mol的所包含的最高分子量存在于样品中。
样品显示出与纯CO2相比大约45%的最大摩擦压力减少,其具有在~15,000的雷诺数之后开始达到平稳的益处。所显示出的最大益处据信为所使用的测试装置的结果,其在更大的油管体系中可能具有更好的益处。
虽然本公开可接受多种修改和替代形式,但已通过举例的方式在附图中显示出具体的实施方案并在本文中对其进行详细描述。然而,应当理解的是,本公开不意图受限于所公开的特定形式。而是,该意图是涵盖所有落入如由随附的权利要求所定义的本发明的精神和范围内的修改、等同方案和替代方案。尽管已显示并描述了多个实施方案,但本公开不因此被限定,并将被理解为包括所有这样的对本领域技术人员而言显而易见的修改和变体。
Claims (4)
1.压裂流体组合物,其包含:(i)二氧化碳(CO2)以及(ii)减摩聚合物,所述减摩聚合物的量为流体组合物的0.001至0.4重量%,其中,所述减摩聚合物具有大于100,000 g/mol的重均分子量并包含至少选自丙烯酸1-,1-,二氢全氟辛酯、丙烯酸1-,1-,2-,2-四氢十七氟癸酯和丙烯酸2-(全氟己基)乙酯的含氟丙烯酸酯单体,其中,所述减摩聚合物至少部分可溶于CO2。
2.权利要求1所述的压裂流体组合物,其中,所述减摩聚合物将所述压裂流体的摩擦减小至比纯二氧化碳的摩擦低至少10%。
3.权利要求1所述的压裂流体组合物,其中,所述减摩聚合物是其中所述单体中的一种为苯乙烯的共聚物。
4.权利要求1所述的压裂流体组合物,其中,所述减摩聚合物是其中所述单体中的一种为乙酸乙烯酯的共聚物。
