With the development of intelligent communication technology, providing a large screen for displaying images has become a new issue.
At present, terminals generally have fingerprint identification functions, so that a non-display area needs to be set for the terminal, and fingerprint mounting holes are formed in the non-display area to mount a fingerprint identification module. Therefore, under the condition that the size of the terminal is fixed, the fingerprint installing holes are formed due to the fact that the non-display area is required to be arranged for the fingerprint identifying module, and the display of a large screen picture of the terminal is greatly limited.

Fig. 1 illustrates a front view of a terminal 100 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 2 illustrates a front view of the terminal 100 according to another exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 and 2 illustrate a smart phone as an embodiment of the terminal 100, but terminals including a display 20 such as a tablet PC, a notebook PC, and a PDA may also be used as an embodiment.
Referring to fig. 1 to 4, a terminal 100 according to an exemplary embodiment may include a display screen 20, an optical fingerprint module 60, and a housing 40. Wherein the display screen 20 may include a main display area 21 and a sub display area 22.
The display screen 20 may be housed in a housing 40. The housing 40 may be composed of a single component or may be assembled from multiple components. The housing 40 may include at least one of a plastic material, a ceramic material, and a metal material.
The display 20 is used for displaying images of electronic files, and the display 20 can display information such as images, videos or texts. The display 20 may include a front surface that displays information, and a rear surface on an opposite side of the front surface.
The display screen 20 may include a main display area 21 and a sub display area 22. The main display area 21 may display information such as images, videos, or texts. The sub display area 22 may also display information such as images, video, or text.
In this embodiment, the main display area 21 and the auxiliary display area 22 may cooperate to display a complete frame. For example, when displaying a sub-image, the main display area 21 may display a part of the image, and the sub-display area 22 may display the remaining part of the image. When the main display area 21 and the sub display area 22 cooperate to display a complete picture, the main display area 21 may be used to display most of the image information, and the sub display area 22 may be used to display the remaining image information.

When the main display area 21 and the sub display area 22 cooperate to display a complete picture, the image information to be displayed can be allocated according to the sizes of the main display area 21 and the sub display area 22.

In some embodiments, the area of the secondary display region 22 is smaller than the area of the primary display region 21. Referring to fig. 1, the area of the sub display area 22 is much smaller than that of the main display area 21. The area of the secondary display area 22 is related to the size of the optical fingerprint module 60, e.g., the larger the optical fingerprint module 60, the larger the area of the secondary display area 22 is in order to be able to capture a fingerprint.
Wherein the main display area 21 is at least partially arranged around the sub display area 22, e.g. referring to fig. 1 and 2, a part of the main display area 21 surrounds the sub display area 22, and a part of the sub display area 22 is surrounded by the main display area 21.
In some embodiments, the primary display area 21 may be disposed entirely around the secondary display area 22, with the secondary display area 22 being surrounded by the primary display area 21. For example, referring to fig. 5, the sub display area 22 is completely surrounded by the main display area 21.
In order to improve the display quality of the picture and simplify the display panel manufacturing process, the sub display area 22 may be formed at the edge of the display panel 20 in this embodiment. In particular, the secondary display area 22 may be directly connected to an edge of the display screen 20.
For example, referring to fig. 1, a sub display area 22 is formed at a bottom edge of the display screen 20, and is connected to the bottom edge of the display screen 20. For another example, referring to fig. 2, a sub display area 22 is formed at a top edge of the display screen 20, the sub display area being connected to the top edge of the display screen 20. For another example, referring to fig. 6, the sub display area 22 is formed at a side edge of the display screen 20 to be connected thereto.
In some embodiments, to beautify the display, improve the display quality, reduce the display manufacturing process, the secondary display area 22 may also be disposed at the intersection of the side and bottom of the display 20. For example, referring to fig. 7, the sub display areas 22 may be formed at intersections of bottom edges and side edges of the display screen 20, and the sub display areas 22 are connected to the bottom edges and the side edges of the display screen 20, respectively.
In order to facilitate the user's input of a fingerprint, the sub display area 22 may be disposed at the lower middle of the main display area 21 according to the habit of the user using the terminal. In some embodiments, the secondary display area 22 may also be disposed in the middle of the top end of the primary display area 21, such as shown in FIG. 1. In addition, the sub display area 22 may be disposed at a side of the main display area 21, as shown in fig. 6.
In some embodiments, referring to fig. 8, the sub-line area 22 may be disposed at a central position of the main display area 21, and the sub-display area 22 is entirely surrounded by the main display area 21.
In this embodiment, the outline shape of the secondary display area 22 may be various, for example, may be one or more of circular arc, rounded rectangle, and rounded square. For example, referring to fig. 1 to 3, the sub display area 22 has a semicircular shape, and referring to fig. 5 and 8, the sub display area 22 has a circular shape. For another example, referring to fig. 9, the outline of the sub-display area 22 is formed of a plurality of circular arcs.
In some embodiments, the outline of the sub display area 22 may be rectangular, for example, referring to fig. 10, a rectangular sub display area 22 is disposed at the bottom of the main display area 21.
In order to enable the optical fingerprint module 60 to capture a fingerprint of a user, the secondary display area 22 is a transparent display area in this embodiment. The optical fingerprint module 60 can thus capture the user's fingerprint through the transparent secondary display area 22.
Referring to fig. 4, the optical fingerprint module 60 is located at the rear side of the display screen 20, the optical fingerprint module 60 can emit an optical signal to the secondary display area 22, when a fingerprint is placed on the secondary display area 22, the optical signal will pass through the transparent secondary display area 22 to reach the fingerprint, and reflection will occur at this time, and since the angle of refraction of the emitted optical signal on the uneven line of the fingerprint on the surface of the finger and the brightness of the reflected light are different, the optical fingerprint module 60 can acquire a fingerprint image according to the reflected optical signal, so as to acquire the fingerprint information of the user. In the present embodiment, "front" refers to the direction in which the side of the display screen 20 on which information is displayed faces, and "rear" refers to the direction opposite to "front".
Preferably, the sub display area 22 may display information, such as image information, in a display mode, spliced with the main display area 21, and the like, in a fingerprint recognition mode for realizing a fingerprint recognition function. For example, the secondary display area 22 becomes transparent in the fingerprint recognition mode so that the optical fingerprint module 60 captures a fingerprint.
In some embodiments, the secondary display area 22 may also continue to display information in a tiled fashion with the primary display area 21 in the fingerprint recognition mode. For example, when the main display area 21 and the sub display area 22 are spliced to display a video picture, a user can input a fingerprint through the sub display area 22 for fingerprint recognition or the like.
Because the display screen 20 is provided with the transparent auxiliary display area 22, the optical fingerprint module 60 can collect the user fingerprint through the auxiliary display area 22 so as to realize the fingerprint identification function, and an independent non-display area is not required to be arranged aiming at the fingerprint module, so that the screen occupation ratio of the display area on the display screen 20 can be increased, and the display effect of a large screen picture can be realized.
In this embodiment, the main display area 21 and the sub display area 22 may be formed on a complete display screen, and referring to fig. 11, the display screen 20 is a complete display screen, and the display screen 20 includes the main display area 21 and the transparent sub display area 22 that are integrally formed; the optical fingerprint module 60 is disposed at the rear side of the sub display area 22.
In some embodiments, the main display area 21 and the sub display area 22 may be formed on two display screens. I.e. the display 20 is formed by two display panels. The display 20 may include a primary display and a secondary display, the primary display area 21 being implemented by the primary display and the secondary display area 22 being implemented by the secondary display.

Preferably, in order to enable rapid fingerprint collection and to increase the fingerprint recognition speed, the optical fingerprint module 60 may be located below the sub-display area 22, that is, at the rear side of the sub-display area 22 in this embodiment. In some embodiments, the optical fingerprint module 60 may also be located at the rear side of the main display area 21, and may be provided with a light guide structure below, i.e., at the rear side of, the sub-display area 22 to collect the fingerprint on the sub-display area 22. The optical fingerprint module 60 can emit light signals to the light guide structure, the light signals are emitted to the auxiliary display area 22 through the light guide structure, when the user fingerprint is placed on the auxiliary display area 22, the light signals are reflected by the fingerprint, and the reflected light signals are emitted to the optical fingerprint module 60 through the light guide structure, so that fingerprint collection is realized. The light guiding structure may be a reflecting structure such as a prism.
In some embodiments, the main display area 21 is further provided with a functional area for mounting functional components, wherein the sub display area 22 is located within the functional area.
Wherein the functional components may be modules that do not perform display functions but perform other functions. For example, the functional component may be a sensor module for transmitting signals or receiving signals from the outside. In this embodiment, the outline shape of the secondary display area 22 can be adapted to the shape of the functional hole 212, and the secondary display area 22 is located in the functional hole 212 and connected to the functional hole 212 to ensure the integrity of the display 20.
In practical application, when the main display area 21 is a main display screen and the auxiliary display area 22 is a transparent display screen, the transparent display screen can be installed in the functional hole 212, and the transparent display screen and the main display screen are arranged in a coplanar manner, and the main display screen and the transparent display screen are spliced to form a complete display screen 20. The user can feel that the display 20 is an integrally formed display when looking at the front side of the display 20. The transparent display screen is connected with the side wall of the functional hole on the main display screen, for example, glue is dispensed to a gap between the transparent display screen and the main display screen through a glue dispensing process, so that the transparent display screen is tightly connected with the main display screen.
In some embodiments, referring to fig. 4, when the main display area 21 is a non-transparent display screen, and the non-transparent display screen includes a display module 210 and a backlight module 211, the functional hole 212 passes through the display module 210 and the backlight module 211.
In order to save the design space of the terminal, the backlight module 211 may optionally be disposed at least partially around the optical fingerprint module 60. Referring to fig. 4, the backlight module 211 is partially disposed around the optical fingerprint module 60, and the optical fingerprint module 60 is connected to the bottom edge of the backlight module 211.

Referring to fig. 12, the terminal 100 may include a cover plate 10, a display screen 20, a printed circuit board 30, and a housing 40. The terminal 100 may further include a battery 50. The display screen 20 may be electrically connected to the printed circuit board 30 via a flexible printed circuit.
The cover plate 10 may be disposed in front of the display screen 20. The cover plate 10 may protect the front surface of the display screen 20 and expose information displayed on the display screen 20 to the outside.
In some embodiments, referring to fig. 13 and 14, the cover plate 10 may also have an exposed area 11 exposing information displayed by the display screen 20, and a non-exposed area 12 blocking external visibility. The non-exposed region 12 may include a light shielding layer, e.g., a black pad layer, so that the inside of the terminal 100 may be invisible. In some embodiments, the light shielding layer is an ink layer.
Referring to fig. 13 and 14, the display screen 20 may further include a non-display area 23 where information is not displayed. The non-display area 23 may be disposed outside the main display area 21. The non-display area 23 may be used to provide an IC (Integrated Circuit ) for controlling information display of the display screen 20, or to provide a functional device such as a proximity sensor, a front camera, or the like.
The non-exposed area 12 of the cover plate 10 may be disposed in front of the non-display area 23 of the display screen 20 and prevent the non-display area 23 of the display screen 20 from being seen from the outside.
In some embodiments, as shown in fig. 1, the display screen 20 may also not include a non-display area, that is, only the main display area 21 and the sub-display area 22. At this time, an IC for controlling the display screen 20 to display information may be provided in the thickness direction of the display screen 20 or the like.
Referring to fig. 12, in the present embodiment, the display 20 and the optical fingerprint module 60 may form a display assembly 101.

Claims (13)

1. A display screen, comprising;
the display screen comprises a main display area and a secondary display area, and the main display area and the secondary display area can display images; the main display area is a non-transparent display screen, the non-transparent display screen comprises a display module and a backlight module, the main display area is provided with functional holes, and the functional holes penetrate through the display module and the backlight module;
the auxiliary display area is a transparent OLED display screen, the transparent OLED display screen is arranged in the functional hole, and the rear side of the transparent OLED display screen is used for arranging an optical fingerprint module so that the optical fingerprint module at the rear side of the display screen can collect fingerprints on the auxiliary display area;
the non-transparent display screen and the transparent OLED display screen are spliced to form a complete display screen.
2. The display screen of claim 1, wherein the primary display area is tiled with a secondary display area to display an image.
3. A display screen as recited in claim 2, wherein the primary display area and the secondary display area are disposed coplanar, the secondary display area having an area smaller than an area of the primary display area.
4. The display screen of claim 1, wherein the primary display area is disposed at least partially around the secondary display area.
5. A display screen as recited in any one of claims 1-4, wherein the secondary display area is formed at an edge of the display screen.
6. The display screen of any one of claims 1-4, wherein the secondary display area is located in a bottom middle of the primary display area.
7. The display screen of any one of claims 1-4, wherein the outline shape of the secondary display area is one or more of circular arc, rounded rectangle, rounded square.
8. The display screen of any one of claims 1-4, wherein the secondary display area is a transparent display screen having a stand-alone display function.
9. A display screen assembly, comprising: a display screen and an optical fingerprint module;
the display screen is as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 8;
the optical fingerprint module is positioned at the rear side of the display screen and is used for collecting fingerprints on the auxiliary display area.
10. The display screen assembly of claim 9, wherein the primary display area is a non-transparent display screen, the non-transparent display screen including a display module and a backlight module, the functional aperture passing through the display module and backlight module, the backlight module being disposed at least partially around the optical fingerprint module.
11. A terminal comprising a printed circuit board and a display screen; the printed circuit board is electrically connected to the display screen, which is the display screen according to any one of claims 1 to 8.
12. The terminal of claim 11, further comprising:
the cover plate is arranged in front of the display screen and covers the display screen;
and the display screen and the printed circuit board are arranged in the shell.
13. A terminal, the terminal comprising: a display screen assembly, a printed circuit board and a housing; the printed circuit board is electrically connected to the display screen assembly; the display screen assembly and the printed circuit board are disposed in the housing, the display screen assembly being as claimed in any one of claims 9 to 10.
