Abstract

本发明实施例提供了一种面板结构及其制作方法、投影系统,显著提高了投影系统的光学效率并减小了投影系统的体积。所述面板结构包括:第一基板、和所述第一基板相对设置的第二基板、以及设置在所述第一基板和第二基板之间的液晶层;设置在所述第一基板面对所述第二基板一侧的反射式电极;设置在所述反射式电极和所述液晶层之间的透明的分光膜;以及设置在所述第二基板面对所述第一基板一侧的公共电极。

Description

面板结构及其制作方法、投影系统
技术领域
本发明涉及显示技术领域,尤其涉及一种面板结构及其制作方法、投影系统。
背景技术
随着显示技术的快速发展,人们对显示技术的要求越来越高,目前微型投影技术开始走向市场,广泛应用于个人消费领域和商务场合,具有广阔的发展前景。
微型投影技术以硅基液晶(LCoS,Liquid Crystal on Silicon)为主,它是LCD与CMOS集成电路有机结合的反射型新型显示技术。LCoS的显示原理与LCD显示基本相同,也是通过偏振光调制来控制投影显示图像。目前LCoS的颜色实现方式以时序式技术为主,它是通过快速旋转的色轮将白光按顺序形成循环的R、G和B三原色;在显示过程中,损失了约67%的光能,光利用效率低。微型投影系统一般都会采用电池供电,功耗受限,制约了投影系统的亮度。并且,色轮只能布置在LCoS外部,机械结构复杂,导致投影系统的体积较大。因此,目前LCoS研究的关键在于提高投影系统的光学效率、减小投影系统的体积。
发明内容
有鉴于此,本发明实施例提出了一种面板结构及其制作方法、投影系统,显著提高了投影系统的光学效率并减小了投影系统的体积。
根据本发明的一个方面,本发明实施例提供了一种面板结构。所述面板结构包括:第一基板、和所述第一基板相对设置的第二基板、以及设置在所述第一基板和第二基板之间的液晶层;设置在所述第一基板面对所述第二基板一侧的反射式电极;设置在所述反射式电极和所述液晶层之间的透明的分光膜;以及设置在所述第二基板面对所述第一基板一侧的公共电极。
本发明实施例提供的面板结构包括设置在反射式电极和液晶层之间的透明分光膜,可以将入射的白光分离成各种颜色的光束;反射式电极可以将各种颜色的光束反射至相应的子像素。以这种方式,彩色显示可以直接在面板结构内实现,因此无需在投影系统中增加色轮结构,显著提高了投影系统的光学效率并减小了投影系统的体积。
可选地,所述面板结构还包括布置在所述分光膜和所述液晶层之间的光学涂层。
相比于利用所述台阶和液晶之间的折射率差异来实现衍射,利用布置在所述分光膜和所述液晶层之间的光学涂层,能够获得更精确的衍射效果,从而更准确地控制光束。
可选地,所述分光膜包括至少一个台阶组;所述台阶组包括三个台阶,所述三个台阶的高度满足方程组(1)和方程组(2):
其中,λr、λg、λb为红光、绿光、蓝光的波长;n1、n2分别为台阶的折射率和光学涂层的折射率;h1、h2和h3分别为所述三个台阶的高度;m1,r是高度为h1的台阶对应于红光的衍射级次,m1,g是高度为h1的台阶对应于绿光的衍射级次,m1,b是高度为h1的台阶对应于蓝光的衍射级次;m2,r是高度为h2的台阶对应于红光的衍射级次,m2,g是高度为h2的台阶对应于绿光的衍射级次,m2,b是高度为h2的台阶对应于蓝光的衍射级次;其中高度为h3的台阶对应于红光、绿光和蓝光的衍射级次均为0级。
在本发明的实施例中,利用包括三个台阶的台阶组实现了对例如红光、绿光、蓝光的分光。本领域技术人员能够理解,根据本发明实施例的教导,还可以使用具有其他布置形式的台阶组,获得例如红、黄、绿、蓝的颜色组合(即,具有红、黄、绿、蓝的颜色的像素)。
可选地,每个台阶的宽度d=0.2~30μm。
本领域技术人员能够理解,可以根据面板结构中每个像素的具体尺寸来设置每个台阶的宽度。
可选地,所述台阶的高度范围为0~6μm。
在设定了其他的参数的情况下,可以利用上述方程组(1)和方程组(2)获得所述台阶的高度。
可选地,所述公共电极是透明的。
利用透明的公共电极,能够进一步提高入射光的利用率,从而提高投影系统的光学效率。
可选地,所述第二基板是透明的。
利用透明的第二基板,能够进一步提高入射光的利用率,从而提高投影系统的光学效率。
可选地,所述液晶层的材料为扭曲向列型液晶。
利用扭曲向列型液晶,入射到所述面板结构中的偏振光能够得到精确地控制,从而实现更好的显示对比度。
根据本发明的另一个方面,本发明实施例提供了一种投影系统。所述投影系统包括:白光光源;布置在所述白光光源出射方向上的偏振分束元件;布置在所述偏振分束元件的反射光束方向上的如以上实施例所述的面板结构;以及布置在所述面板结构出射方向上的投影透镜。
可选地,所述偏振分束元件是偏振分光棱镜或偏振分光片。
可选地,所述白光光源是准直的白光光源。
利用准直的白光光源,能够使准直的白光入射至所述面板结构,从而获得更好的投影显示。
根据本发明的又一个方面,本发明实施例提供了一种面板结构的制作方法。所述方法包括:提供第一基板;在所述第一基板上设置反射式电极;在所述反射式电极上布置透明的分光膜;提供第二基板,在所述第二基板上设置公共电极;将所述第一基板和所述第二基板对盒;以及在所述第一基板和第二基板之间填充液晶层。
利用本发明实施例提供的面板结构的制作方法,面板结构包括设置在反射式电极和液晶层之间的透明分光膜,可以将入射的白光分离成各种颜色的光束;反射式电极可以将各种颜色的光束反射至相应的子像素。以这种方式,彩色显示可以直接在面板结构内实现,因此无需在投影系统中增加色轮结构,显著提高了投影系统的光学效率并减小了投影系统的体积。
可选地,在所述反射式电极上布置透明的分光膜包括:在所述反射式电极上布置透明的分光膜并在所述分光膜上布置光学涂层。
在所述分光膜上布置光学涂层,因此所述光学涂层和所述台阶的折射率差异是固定的。相比于利用所述台阶和液晶之间的折射率差异来实现衍射,利用布置在所述分光膜和所述液晶层之间的光学涂层,能够获得更精确的衍射效果,从而更准确地控制光束。

根据本发明的一个方面,本发明实施例提供了一种面板结构。图1示出了根据本发明实施例的面板结构的结构示意图;所述面板结构100包括:第一基板10、和所述第一基板10相对设置的第二基板20、以及设置在所述第一基板10和第二基板20之间的液晶层30;设置在所述第一基板10面对所述第二基板20一侧的反射式电极102;设置在所述反射式电极102和所述液晶层30之间的透明的分光膜103;以及设置在所述第二基板20面对所述第一基板10一侧的公共电极105。本领域技术人员能够理解,所述第一基板10可以例如包括CMOS有源驱动矩阵101;所述反射式电极102可以由所述CMOS有源驱动矩阵101控制。
本发明实施例提供的面板结构包括设置在反射式电极和液晶层之间的透明分光膜,可以将入射的白光分离成各种颜色的光束;反射式电极可以将各种颜色的光束反射至相应的子像素。以这种方式,彩色显示可以直接在面板结构内实现,因此无需在投影系统中增加色轮结构,显著提高了投影系统的光学效率并减小了投影系统的体积。
可选地,如图1所示,所述面板结构100还包括布置在所述分光膜103和所述液晶层30之间的光学涂层104。
相比于利用所述台阶和液晶之间的折射率差异来实现衍射,利用布置在所述分光膜和所述液晶层之间的光学涂层,能够获得更精确的衍射效果,从而更准确地控制光束。
为了获得可控的衍射效果,如图1所示,所述光学涂层104和所述液晶层30之间的界面可以是平坦的。
可选地,如图2所示,所述分光膜103包括至少一个台阶组1031;所述台阶组1031包括三个台阶,所述三个台阶的高度h1、h2和h3满足方程组(1)和方程组(2):
其中,λr、λg、λb为红光、绿光、蓝光的波长;n1、n2分别为台阶的折射率和光学涂层的折射率;h1、h2和h3分别为所述三个台阶的高度;m1,r是高度为h1的台阶对应于红光的衍射级次,m1,g是高度为h1的台阶对应于绿光的衍射级次,m1,b是高度为h1的台阶对应于蓝光的衍射级次;m2,r是高度为h2的台阶对应于红光的衍射级次,m2,g是高度为h2的台阶对应于绿光的衍射级次,m2,b是高度为h2的台阶对应于蓝光的衍射级次;其中高度为h3的台阶对应于红光、绿光和蓝光的衍射级次均为0级。
如图3所示,在本发明实施例中,入射至所述台阶组1031的白光经过所述台阶组1031并被反射;反射光包括三个具有不同颜色的反射光束(分别由具有不同样式的虚线指示),由此获得了具有不同颜色的三个子像素。
在本发明的实施例中,利用包括三个台阶的台阶组实现了对例如红光、绿光、蓝光的分光。本领域技术人员能够理解,根据本发明实施例的教导,还可以使用具有其他布置形式的台阶组,获得例如红、黄、绿、蓝的颜色组合(即,红、黄、绿、蓝的颜色的子像素)。
可选地,如图2所示,每个台阶的宽度d=0.2~30μm。
在一些实施例中,所述台阶组中的台阶具有相同的宽度;本领域技术人员能够理解,可以根据面板结构中每个像素的具体尺寸来设置每个台阶的宽度。
可选地,所述台阶的高度范围为0~6μm。
在设定了其他的参数的情况下,可以利用上述方程组(1)和方程组(2)获得所述台阶的高度。
可选地,所述公共电极是透明的。
利用透明的公共电极,能够进一步提高入射光的利用率,从而提高投影系统的光学效率。
可选地,所述第二基板是透明的。
利用透明的第二基板,能够进一步提高入射光的利用率,从而提高投影系统的光学效率。
可选地,所述液晶层的材料为扭曲向列型液晶。
利用扭曲向列型液晶,入射到所述面板结构中的偏振光能够得到精确地控制,从而实现更好的显示对比度。
根据本发明的另一个方面,本发明实施例提供了一种投影系统。如图4所示,所述投影系统200包括:白光光源201;布置在所述白光光源201出射方向上的偏振分束元件202;布置在所述偏振分束元件202的反射光束方向上的如以上实施例所述的面板结构203;以及布置在所述面板结构203出射方向上的投影透镜204。
可选地,所述偏振分束元件202可以是如图4所示的偏振分光棱镜或偏振分光片。
如图4所示,从白光光源201发射的白光入射至偏振分光棱镜202;白光中的p偏振光穿过所述偏振分光棱镜202;白光中的s偏振光被反射至如以上实施例所述的面板结构203;利用面板结构203中的分光膜,获得了对应于多个子像素的分别具有不同颜色的光束;同时,可以利用所述反射式电极控制每个子像素所对应的液晶区域中的电场,从而调整了每个子像素的光束的偏振面的旋转角度。例如,从该面板结构203出射时,所述具有最高灰阶(即,最亮)的子像素的光束被旋转为p偏振光,从而穿过所述偏振分光棱镜202,由所述投影透镜204投射至像平面;具有最低灰阶(即,最暗)的子像素的光束被保持为s偏振光,因此无法穿过所述偏振分光棱镜202。本领域技术人员能够理解,类似于液晶显示装置中的偏振旋转原理,利用不同的电场强度,能够实现从该面板结构203出射的各种偏振角度,从而实现具有各种灰阶的子像素。
可选地,所述白光光源可以是准直的白光光源。
利用准直的白光光源,能够使准直的白光入射至所述面板结构,从而获得更好的投影显示。
该投影系统的实施可以参见上述面板结构的实施例,重复之处不再赘述。
根据本发明的又一个方面,本发明实施例提供了一种面板结构的制作方法。所述面板结构的制作方法可以用于制作如以上实施例所述的面板结构。如图5所示,所述方法300包括以下步骤:S301提供第一基板;S302在所述第一基板上设置反射式电极;S303在所述反射式电极上布置透明的分光膜;S304提供第二基板,在所述第二基板上设置公共电极;S305将所述第一基板和所述第二基板对盒;以及S306在所述第一基板和第二基板之间填充液晶层。
利用本发明实施例提供的面板结构的制作方法,面板结构包括设置在反射式电极和液晶层之间的透明分光膜,可以将入射的白光分离成各种颜色的光束;反射式电极可以将各种颜色的光束反射至相应的子像素。以这种方式,彩色显示可以直接在面板结构内实现,因此无需在投影系统中增加色轮结构,显著提高了投影系统的光学效率并减小了投影系统的体积。
可选地,在所述反射式电极上布置透明的分光膜包括:在所述反射式电极上布置透明的分光膜并在所述分光膜上布置光学涂层。
在所述分光膜上布置光学涂层,因此所述光学涂层和所述台阶的折射率差异是固定的。相比于利用所述台阶和液晶之间的折射率差异来实现衍射,利用布置在所述分光膜和所述液晶层之间的光学涂层,能够获得更精确的衍射效果,从而更准确地控制光束。
显然,本领域的技术人员可以对本发明进行各种改动和变型而不脱离本发明的精神和范围。这样,倘若本发明的这些修改和变型属于本发明权利要求及其等同技术的范围之内,则本发明也意图包含这些改动和变型。

1.一种面板结构,其特征在于,包括:
第一基板、和所述第一基板相对设置的第二基板、以及设置在所述第一基板和第二基板之间的液晶层;
设置在所述第一基板面对所述第二基板一侧的反射式电极;
设置在所述反射式电极和所述液晶层之间的透明的分光膜;
设置在所述第二基板面对所述第一基板一侧的公共电极;以及
布置在所述分光膜和所述液晶层之间的光学涂层;
其中所述分光膜包括至少一个台阶组;所述台阶组包括三个台阶,所述三个台阶的高度满足方程组(1)和方程组(2):

白光光源;

布置在所述面板结构出射方向上的投影透镜。
8.如权利要求7所述的投影系统,其特征在于,所述偏振分束元件是偏振分光棱镜或偏振分光片。
9.如权利要求7所述的投影系统,其特征在于,所述白光光源是准直的白光光源。
10.一种面板结构的制作方法,其特征在于,包括:
提供第一基板;
在所述第一基板上设置反射式电极;
在所述反射式电极上布置透明的分光膜,并在所述分光膜背离所述反射式电极的表面布置光学涂层;
提供第二基板,在所述第二基板上设置公共电极;
将所述第一基板和所述第二基板对盒;以及
在所述第一基板和第二基板之间填充液晶层;
其中所述分光膜包括至少一个台阶组;所述台阶组包括三个台阶,所述三个台阶的高度满足方程组(1)和方程组(2):
