Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates generally to a cleaner head for a vacuum cleaner and in particular to a foot of a cleaner head for such a vacuum cleaner, said foot functioning to be in contact with a floor surface to be cleaned. In the case of a carpet or woven cut pile carpet covering the floor, the cleaning function depends on the interaction of the base with the carpet or woven cut pile carpet. In particular, it is important to maintain a sufficient air flow rate to always suck away dirt.
Background
In the prior art, the base of a cleaner head of a vacuum cleaner is known, for example the base of a cleaner head of a vacuum cleaner disclosed in document FR 2965165. However, this system has the particular disadvantage of not being suitable for effectively sucking in dirt present in certain types of carpets.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages described above and, in particular, to provide, firstly, a base of a suction head of a vacuum cleaner which allows dirt present in carpets or woven cut-pile carpets to be sucked efficiently.
To this end, a first aspect of the invention relates to a base of a cleaner head of a vacuum cleaner, the base of the cleaner head of the vacuum cleaner comprising:
at least one suction conduit for the ground
-a front flat having a length, in a section along a plane perpendicular to the suction duct, of between 3.2mm and 4.2mm and arranged in front of the at least one suction duct,
-a rear inclination arranged at the rear of the suction duct,
characterized in that, in said section, said rear inclined portion has a length between 3 and 4 times said length of said front flat portion. The base of such a nozzle allows to limit its sinking into carpets or woven pile carpets in order to ensure a suitable suction flow, while limiting the thrust and in particular the pulling force to be exerted on said nozzle by the user (through the suction duct of the vacuum cleaner). In particular, this profile of the base for the cleaner head is well suited for use in a vacuum cleaner whose suction flow through a 40 mm diameter hole in a bin standardised according to the IEC312 standard can reach 28 litres per second. With reference to a plane perpendicular to the suction duct, it is also possible to use a plane perpendicular to the floor surface to be cleaned and oriented in the longitudinal direction of the suction (i.e. along the front-rear direction of the suction).
Advantageously, a rear flat portion is arranged between said at least one suction duct and said rear inclined portion, the length of said rear flat portion being, in said section, one eighth to one tenth of said length of said front flat portion. Such a rear flat portion allows the force to be applied to push the cleaner head forward to be limited, since the rear inclined portion does not fall directly into the suction conduit.
Advantageously, the rear flat portion is connected to the rear inclined portion by a circular arc portion (rayon) comprised between 10mm and 15 mm. This arrangement allows limiting the friction of the base on the carpet or woven cut pile carpet.
Advantageously, the front flat defines a bottom plane and the rear inclined portion is inclined at an angle of between 10 ° and 14 ° with respect to the bottom plane. This arrangement allows to ensure a limited friction when moving backwards, with a suitable suction flow.
Advantageously, the base of the suction head comprises a front inclined portion, the front flat portion being arranged between the at least one suction duct and the front inclined portion, and the front inclined portion being inclined at an angle of between 13 ° and 17 ° with respect to the bottom plane. This arrangement allows to ensure a limited friction when moving forward, with a suitable suction flow.
Advantageously, the base of the suction head comprises a connecting arc between the front inclined portion and the front flat portion, the connecting arc being between 7mm and 13 mm. This arrangement allows limiting the friction of the base on the carpet or woven cut pile carpet.
Advantageously, the front inclination has a length comprised between 1mm and 4 mm. This arrangement allows to ensure a limited friction when moving forward, with a suitable suction flow.
Advantageously, a front arc is designed to be arranged in front of the base of the suction head, and the front arc is comprised between 1mm and 5 mm.
A second aspect of the invention relates to a vacuum cleaner incorporating a base for a cleaner head according to the first aspect.
Advantageously, the vacuum cleaner comprises a suction duct connected to the suction head by a link, the link comprising two pivots having parallel axes, a first pivot forming a hinge between the link and the suction duct and a second pivot forming a hinge between the suction head and the link. This type of suction head, known as "double-hinged", forces the arrangement of a pivoting hinge having an axis parallel to the floor to be cleaned in the vicinity of the base of the suction head, which leaves little space to size said base.
Drawings
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will emerge more clearly from a reading of the detailed description of an embodiment of the invention, given by way of non-limiting example and illustrated by the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 shows a cross-sectional view of a cleaner head of a vacuum cleaner comprising a foot according to the invention;
Detailed Description
Figure 1 shows a cross-sectional view of a cleaner head of a vacuum cleaner, in which a suction conduit 10 can be seen, said suction conduit 10 leading into a lower portion of the cleaner head of the vacuum cleaner, which lower portion may alternatively be referred to as a foot (the portion of the cleaner head referred to is in contact with the floor surface to be cleaned).
The section shown in fig. 1 is implemented in a plane perpendicular to said suction conduit 10, i.e. perpendicular to the floor surface to be cleaned and aligned with the front-to-rear direction of the suction head of the vacuum cleaner, in other words the cleaning direction.
The base comprises, in front of the suction duct 10 (that is to say to the left in fig. 1), a front flat portion having a length L1, which is comprised between 3.2 and 4.2 mm.
Behind the suction duct 10, the base comprises a rear inclined portion having a length L2 that is 3 to 4 times the length L1 of the front flat portion. Thus, the rear inclination has a length L2 comprised between 9.6mm and 16.8mm, and more advantageously between 11.8mm and 15.8 mm.
A rear flat portion is located between the rear inclined portion and the suction duct 10, the rear flat portion having a length L3 that is one-eighth to one-tenth of the length L1 of the front flat portion. Thus, the rear flat portion has a length L3 of between 0.32mm and 0.52mm, and more advantageously the rear flat portion has a length of between 0.3mm and 0.5 mm.
The front flat portion may serve as a bottom plane to define the inclination of the rear inclined portion, and the inclination α 1 is between 10 ° and 14 °.
A connecting circular arc R1 may be provided between the rear flat portion and the rear inclined portion, and advantageously, this connecting circular arc R1 has a value between 10mm and 15 mm.
In front of the suction duct 10, said front flat is arranged between the suction duct 10 and a front inclined portion having a length L4 of between 1mm and 4 mm. The front inclined portion is connected to the front flat portion by a connecting circular arc portion R2, the connecting circular arc portion R2 having a value between 7mm and 13 mm. Finally, a front circular arc R3 may be provided, the front circular arc R3 having a value between 1mm and 5 mm. Finally, the front inclination is inclined at an angle α 2 of between 13 ° and 17 ° with respect to the bottom plane.
In other words, the length L6 of the part of the base which is to the rear of the suction conduit 10 is between 1.45 and 1.85 times the length L5 of the part of the base of the cleaner head which is to the front of the suction conduit 10. Advantageously, the length L5 is between 7.9mm and 11.9mm and the length L6 is between 14.5mm and 18.5 mm.
The arrangement of the base, which is in contact with the floor surface to be cleaned, that is to say with the fibres of the carpet or woven cut pile carpet, allows the suction head to maintain a sufficient flow rate to effectively suck in dirt that may be present in the fibres of the carpet or woven cut pile carpet. In other words, the shape of the base allows the suction head of the vacuum cleaner to sink into the carpet or woven cut pile carpet without excessively, which limits the load loss of the air flow passing through the fibers of the carpet or woven cut pile carpet.
It will also be noted that the suction head of the vacuum cleaner is connected to the suction duct by a link which pivots relative to the suction head and to the suction duct by a pivotal connection having axes which are parallel to one another.
It will be appreciated that various significant modifications and/or improvements may be made to the embodiments of the invention described in this specification by those skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
