Abstract

技术领域

适合外科应用的传统激光系统通常包括上述激光能量源和耦接至该激光能量源的单独的手持件(该手持件可以通过执业医生手动地操作)。在基本的实施中,手持件包括包含了光学纤维的末端组件,该光学纤维与波导件光学连通,并因此与激光能量源光学连通。光学纤维的输出端部或输出表面引导所发射的激光能量至目标组织部位,并且不同形状的配置可以产生不同的输出轮廓,包括简单的圆形图案。激光发射可以在进入目标组织中时以操作者的适应性和舒适性最大化的任何角度引导。使用不同的反射器装置,光学路径可以从连接电缆/手持件轴线偏移。
在适用于医疗应用的许多传统的激光设备中,存在执业医生、临床医生或设备的其他使用者“启动”集成到末端组件的任何新的光学纤维的需求。该启动过程的一般目标是促进特定的有机材料或非有机材料灌注到光学纤维的远端部分中,这会导致通过光学纤维施加的激光能量的至少一部分被部分吸收并转换成热量。
在一个目前已知的、经常使用的启动过程中,提供了启动块,这样的块通常是由软木、碳基有机材料制成。启动过程通过将光学纤维的远端部首先接触至该块暴露的顶表面。此后,点燃激光器,允许光学纤维渗透进该块或在该块中燃烧它的路径。然后,光学纤维从该块的内部拉出。激光器继续被点燃直到光学纤维已经完全从该块移除为止。一旦光学纤维从所述块移除,激光被发射至空气中一次,这通常会导致出现光学纤维发光的远端端部部分。发光的远端端部部分表明启动过程已经成功,并且光学纤维,因此末端组件为使用做好准备了。其它目前已知的启动过程遵循类似的协议,但是在塞(例如有机颜料)或者非有机(合成的)、非金属基颜料之外,还可以采用的是碳基有机材料。
这个已知的启动过程旨在促进上述启动材料的任何一种灌注至光学纤维的远端部分中,从而促进上面描述的功能目标。然而,这些具体的启动材料的使用所产生的主要缺点在于,在它们的熔化期间(该熔化发生在启动过程期间),它们不能创建粘附或粘合至玻璃的良好粘附或者良好化学粘合。
发明内容
本发明的一些实施方式包括一种启动激光末端组件的方法,该方法包括:提供激光末端组件,该激光末端组件包括未启动的光学纤维,未启动的光学纤维包含远端部分,该远端部分包括限定了远端的远端端部部分;以及将启动材料施加至远端端部部分的至少一部分。此外,所述方法包括将未启动的光学纤维可操作地耦接至激光源,其中激光源是可操作的以在所预定的波长和输出功率范围内发射激光能量。所述方法还包括以规定的时间段点燃激光源,这导致启动材料的金属组分灌注到光学纤维的远端端部部分中。
在一些实施方式中,所述方法包括将启动材料施加至所述远端端部部分,从远端端部直至离所述远端端部大约3毫米处。在一些另外的实施方式中,启动材料通过将未启动的光学纤维的至少一部分浸入至启动材料中来施加。在一些实施方式中,启动材料包含搪瓷材料和基底材料。
一些实施方式包括包含了黄铜颗粒的混合物的搪瓷材料。在一些另外的实施方式中,基底材料包含至少一种有机溶剂。在一些实施方式中,有机溶剂包含二甲苯、乙苯和矿油精(mineral spirit,石油溶剂油)中的至少一种。在一些实施方式中,按重量计,有机溶剂包含1%至10%的二甲苯,1%至5%的乙苯和25%至35%的矿油精。在一些实施方式中,按重量计,黄铜颗粒的混合物包含5%至35%的铜和1%至5%的锌。在一些实施方式中,搪瓷材料包含金属粉末或金属颜料。在一些另外的实施方式中,金属粉末或金属颜料包含铝粉。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,启动材料至少部分地干燥。此外,在一些实施方式中,启动材料干燥了大约5分钟至15分钟之间的时间段。本发明的一些实施方式还包含在启动材料的应用之前利用清洗剂清洁光学纤维的远端端部部分。在一些实施方式中,清洗剂包含异丙醇。在一些另外的实施方式中,基底材料在空气中是可燃的并且易燃的。
在一些另外的实施方式中,激光源是二极管激光源,该二极管激光源构造为发射出具有大约400纳米至大约1500纳米波长范围和大约0.4瓦至大约2.5瓦输出功率范围的激光能量。在一些实施方式中,激光源被点燃大约10秒至大约20秒范围的时间间隔。
本发明的一些实施方式包括利用预定的清洗剂清洁光学纤维的远端端部部分,并且检查远端端部部分的碎屑或裂隙。

具体实施方式
本发明的一些实施方式包括一种启动末端组件的光学纤维的方法,该方法采用了包含金属染色搪瓷的启动材料,并且更具体地,使用了至少部分地分散在至少一种易燃(即可燃)溶剂内的金属颗粒的混合物。一些实施方式包括在所完成和所启动的光学纤维中使用上述启动材料的实施方式,在末端组件处可以与金属颗粒或金属片灌注。将金属颗粒或金属片粘附至或粘合至光学纤维可以至少等于或优于根据现有的启动技术的灌注于末端的碳基底材料或者非有机的、合成的、非金属基颜料的粘附或粘合。
在一些实施方式中,启动过程可以由供应商或末端组件制造商或者医疗激光设备的制造商完成,末端组件由该医疗激光设备提供(即医师、临床医师或激光设备的其他终端用户配备有预启动的末端组件)。以这种方式,终端用户从必须完成启动过程的负担中得到减轻,从而进一步地避免了在这种末端组件上不适当地完成该过程的可能性。
现在参照附图,附图所展示的仅为了说明本发明的实施方式,而不是为了限制这些实施方式。图1描绘了末端组件10,该末端组件可以经受根据本发明所完成的启动过程。在一些实施方式中,末端组件10可以包含细长的光学纤维12、套圈14和细长、管状的金属护套或金属套管16,该金属护套或金属套管具有从套圈14的一个端部突出的大致为圆形的横截面结构。在本发明的一些实施方式中,光学纤维12可以通过套管16推进,正如将在下面更详细地描述的那样。如图2所示,套圈14的使套管16从套圈突出的端部相对的端部可适于可操作地耦接至波导件18,该波导件进而可以可操作地耦接至激光源。
如从图1至图4和如上所述显而易见的是,在一些实施方式中,套管16可以在末端组件10内容纳光学纤维12的一部分。更具体地,在一些实施方式中,光学纤维12可以连接至末端组件10的剩余部分,从而光学纤维12的远端部分20从套管16的远处端部(该远处端部布置得离套圈14最远)突出。光学纤维12的这个突出的远端部分20还限定了远端端部部分22,在一些实施方式中,该远端端部部分的半径小于远端部分20的剩余部分的半径。此外,在一些实施方式中,远端端部部分22可以限定光学纤维12的输出表面或远端端部24。根据已知的技术,光学纤维12可以由受挤压的玻璃(例如二氧化硅)制成。
如上所述,在一些实施方式中,末端组件10的套圈14可以适于可逆地耦接和/接合至波导件18。例如,在一些实施方式中,末端组件10的套圈14可以适于与波导件18重复地接合和脱开。在一些实施方式中,末端组件10连接至波导件18进而可以促进末端组件10的光学纤维12耦接至激光源。在这方面,利用末端组件10连接至波导件18,在一些实施方式中,激光源的发射可以促进激光能量传输至光学纤维12并且穿过光学纤维。此外,为了促进本发明的启动过程的完成(其将在下面更加详细地描述),在一些实施方式中,激光源可以是在大约400纳米至大约1500纳米的波长范围中可操作的二极管激光器,并且输出功率范围可以在大约0.4瓦至大约2.5瓦之间。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,在末端连接至手持件12之前,本发明的启动方法或启动过程可以与末端组件10的远端部分20的清洗一起开始。一些实施方式包括包含了异丙醇的清洗剂。在其它实施方式中,可以使用其它的醇基清洁剂。在一些另外的实施方式中,清洗剂可以包含蒸馏水。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,清洁步骤可以紧随着将能量吸收启动材料26应用至光学纤维12,并且具体的是应用至其远端端部部分22的预定部分或预定区域,包括远端端部24。在一些实施方式中,启动材料26可以是在包含有机溶剂的溶液中的包含黄铜(铜和锌)粉末/颜料或黄铜片的混合物的搪瓷材料。在一些实施方式中,按重量计,有机溶剂可以包括大约1%至大约10%之间范围内的混合二甲苯(二甲苯);大约1%至大约5%之间范围内的乙苯;和/或大约25%至大约35%之间范围内的矿油精。在一些实施方式中,按重量计,黄铜颜料可以包含大约5%至大约35%之间范围内的铜,和大约1%至大约5%之间范围内的锌。然而,在一些实施方式中,包括在启动材料26中的黄铜粉末/颜料可以任意地用铝粉/颜料或者另一种金属粉末/颜料取代,而不脱离本发明的精神和范围。
在一些实施方式中,在本发明的启动方法中使用的任何启动材料26将拥有特定的特征或特性。例如,在一些实施方式中,该特征或特性可以包括启动材料26能够粘附于二氧化硅。此外,在一些其它的实施方式中,该特征或特性可以包括启动材料26依靠加热分解能生物相容的能力。此外,在一些另外的实施方式中,该特征或特性可以包括在大约940纳米的波长的激光辐射下启动材料26与二氧化硅反应的能力。在一些实施方式中,这可以在光学纤维12的内部创建不能移除的半透明层,其在大约940纳米的相同波长的激光辐射下加热。正如其中的铜、铝或其它金属成分可以包括沉淀(settle)的倾向。在一些实施方式中,对于启动方法,重要的是启动材料26基本上是均匀混合的(以防止在保持启动材料26的任何容器的底部处的沉淀)。在几个末端组件10使用本发明的启动方法串联启动的情况下,在一些实施方式中,保持启动材料26的任何容器可以驻留在板搅拌器或板混合器上,以防止启动材料26的任何分离。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,用来促进将启动材料26应用至末端组件10的光学纤维12的过程可以是浸入过程。更具体地,在一些实施方式中,光学纤维12的远端端部部分22可以通过将远端端部24首先放置于启动材料26中至大约1毫米至大约3毫米范围的深度来浸入。然后,末端组件10可以放置于干燥器架中,其中光学纤维12的浸入过的远端端部部分22朝下,从而启动材料26可以收集在远端端部24上。在一些实施方式中,虽然可以花大约15分钟的时间来确保干燥基本完成,而无需加速度,启动材料26仍可以花大约5分钟来干燥。然而,在一些实施方式中,热空气干燥器或加热枪可以用来加速干燥过程。在这方面,空气干燥器不能从光学纤维12的远端端部部分22移除任何启动材料26。在一些实施方式中,在干燥器架可以构造成用于同时地保持任意数量的末端组件10.在一些实施方式中,在启动材料26已经干燥之后,可以选择性地完成检查。例如,检查过程可以包括在放大100倍情况下捕捉干燥启动材料26的图像,以确保其完整性和完备性。图2的圈出区域描绘了干燥的启动材料26涂覆在远端端部24以及从远端端部24延伸的光学纤维12的远端端部部分22的大约2-3毫米的一段上。
一些实施方式包括启动方法的下一步骤,在该方法中末端组件10可操作地耦接至波导件18。正如前面所描述的,这种耦接促进了末端组件10的光学纤维12可操作地耦接至激光源。在一些实施方式中,激光源可以设置为大约0.4瓦至大约2.5瓦连续波的输出功率范围(在波导件10的输出处利用校正功率计和传感器测量)。在本发明的一些实施方式中,所选择的特定输出功率可以理解为依赖于将要启动的末端组件10的光学纤维12的直径和其它尺寸参数。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,启动方法随后的步骤可以包括激光源被点燃大约15秒(+/-大约5秒)的时间段,从而将能量传递至末端10的远端端部24。在这个启动期间,施加在光学纤维12的远端端部部分22的启动材料26可以点燃并且烧掉。具体地,在一些实施方式中,启动过程可以烧掉包括在上述启动材料26的透明基底中的溶液的几乎100%。在本发明的一些实施方式中,在启动过程期间,激光能量可以在启动材料26中至少部分地吸收(例如,大约5%的吸收率至大约95%的吸收率)。在一些实施方式中,所吸收的光能可以点燃透明基底的溶剂。在一些实施方式中,点燃和燃烧可以融化部分光学纤维12,并且利用启动材料26的金属(例如铜、铝等)粉末/颜料灌注光学纤维12。在一些实施方式中,所启动或状态处理之后的末端组件10,并且具体的是最初由启动材料26覆盖或者涂覆的其光学纤维12的远端端部部分22的段可以永久地被改性,从而通过光学纤维12施加的能量被部分地吸收并且转化为热量。
在一些实施方式中,图3的圈出区域描绘了在根据本发明的启动方法的各种实施方式的启动过程中的光学纤维12的远端端部部分22。在本发明的一些实施方式中,启动过程的成功的视觉指示可以包括在光学纤维12的远端端部部分22处观察光晕(glow,发光)28(例如,橙色光晕)的能力。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,图2如上所述的启动之后,末端组件10的光学纤维12可以允许冷却几秒钟。此后,残留的燃烧过的材料可以利用干燥的纸巾或海绵、或者利用蒸馏水或任何其它合适的清洁溶液(诸如异丙醇、丙酮、其它醇和有机溶剂)从光学纤维12的远端端部部分22移除。根据启动方法的一些实施方式,图4的圈出区域描绘了启动过程完成之后的末端10的远端端部部分22。
在本发明的一些实施方式中,上述清洁步骤的完成之后,所启动或状态处理之后的末端组件10,并且具体的是其中的光学纤维12可以在远端端部部分22处(包括远端端部24)可选择性地检查,以检查碎屑或裂隙。可选的检查过程可以包括在放大100倍的条件下捕获光学纤维12的状态处理之后的端部的图像。在一些实施方式中,光学纤维12的远端端部部分22和所嵌入的黄铜、铝或其它金属的鼓泡或膨胀是正常的,可以发生的,并且可能在检查期间被观察到。
一些其它的实施方式可以包括启动过程,在该启动过程中消除了干燥步骤,并且在该启动过程中激光源的点火可以在启动材料26仍然是湿的时发生。在一些实施方式中,虽然光学纤维12的远端端部部分22仍然浸渍在启动材料26的容器内,但是激光器的点火仍可以潜在地发生,。

Claims (20)
1.一种启动激光末端组件的方法,包括:
提供包括了未启动光学纤维的激光末端组件,所述未启动光学纤维包括远端部分,所述远端部分包括远端端部部分,所述远端端部部分限定远端端部;以及
将启动材料施加至所述远端端部部分的至少一部分;
操作地将所述未启动光学纤维耦接至激光源,操作所述激光源以在预定的波长和输出功率范围内发射激光能量;以及
以预定的时间间隔间点亮所述激光源,使得所述启动材料的金属组分灌注到所述光学纤维的所述远端端部部分中。
2.权利要求1所述的方法,其中,从所述远端端部直至离所述远端端部大约3毫米处将所述启动材料施加至所述远端端部部分。
3.权利要求1所述的方法,其中,通过将所述未启动光学纤维的至少一部分浸入所述启动材料中来施加所述启动材料。
4.权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述启动材料包括搪瓷材料和基底材料。
5.权利要求4所述的方法,其中,所述搪瓷材料包含黄铜颗粒的混合物。
6.权利要求4所述的方法,其中,所述搪瓷材料包含至少一种有机溶剂。

8.权利要求6所述的方法,其中,按重量计,所述有机溶剂包含1%至10%的二甲苯,1%至5%的乙苯,和25%至35%的矿油精。
9.权利要求5所述的方法,其中,按重量计,所述黄铜颗粒的混合物包含5%至35%的铜,和1%至5%的锌。
10.权利要求4所述的方法,其中,所述搪瓷材料包含金属粉末或金属颜料。
11.权利要求10所述的方法,其中,所述金属粉末或所述金属颜料包含铝粉末。
12.权利要求1所述的方法,其中,在点亮所述激光源之前,至少部分地干燥所述启动材料。
13.权利要求12所述的方法,其中,所述启动材料干燥大约5分钟至大约15分钟之间的时间段。
14.权利要求1所述的方法,还包括:
在施加所述启动材料之前,利用清洁剂清洁所述光学纤维的所述远端端部部分。
15.权利要求14所述的方法,其中,所述清洁剂包括异丙醇。
16.权利要求4所述的方法,其中,所述基底材料在空气中是可点燃的并且是易燃的。
17.权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述激光源是二极管激光源,该二极管激光源构造为发射具有大约400纳米至大约1500纳米波长范围和大约0.4瓦至大约2.5瓦输出功率范围的激光能量。
18.权利要求1所述的方法,其中,所述激光源以在大约10秒至大约20秒范围内的时间间隔被点亮。
19.权利要求1所述的方法,还包括:
用预定的清洁剂清洁所述光学纤维的所述远端端部部分;以及
检查所述远端端部部分,以检查碎屑或裂隙。
