技术领域
本发明总体涉及电子模块,且更具体地涉及内插器,该内插器被配置为与附连到印刷电路板(PCB)的连接器连接,以与PCB形成直角连接。
背景技术
已知通过将电路板组件(CBA)放入外壳或壳体来形成电子模块,以保护CBA免受撞击和污染相关的损坏。较佳地,使用垂直组装技术来组装该电子模块。即,通过仅使用垂直运动来堆叠各个零件(与必须重新定向外壳来执行特定的组装步骤相反)而放置形成模块的各个零件,来组装该电子模块。但是,如果需要通向电子模块的旁路连接,将制造技术限定于仅垂直组装技术可能不是理想的。已经提出了直角接头连接器,该直角接头连接器使用弯曲销来从电路板平面过渡至旁路连接,并从而可以满足垂直组装技术。但是,由于端子接触区域靠近机械固位和密封特征件,这些类型的接头连接器不能容易地匹配于标准配套线束连接器。匹配连接器涉及将比所需要的更进一步侵入电子模块,形成更长、更大的非标准匹配连接系统。
发明内容
根据一个实施例,提供了一种电子模块。该模块包括印刷电路板(PCB)、连接器、外壳和内插器。该PCB限定PCB的平面。连接器附连至该PCB,以形成电路板组件(CBA)。该连接器包括垂直于所述平面定向的多个连接器插针。该外壳构造成接纳该CBA。该外壳构造成在外壳的壁上形成一开口,当组装CBA时,该开口靠近该连接器。该壁的特征为垂直于所述平面。该内插器配置成连接至外壳。该内插器包括平行于所述平面定向的多个匹配插针。每个匹配插针限定叉状端,叉状端构造成在内插器插入开口时与每个连接器插针形成电接触。

具体实施方式
图1-3示出电子模块的非限制性示例,下文通常称为模块10。模块10包括印刷电路板(PCB),下文通常称为PCB12。PCB可以由诸如FR-4电路板材料的已知材料形成。可以有连接至PCB12的一个或多个电子部件14,诸如但不限于集成电路和/或电容器。通常,PCB12相对平坦,从而PCB12可以用于限定PCB12的平面16。
模块10包括连接器20,连接器20附连至PCB以形成电路板组件(CBA),下文通常称为CBA22。为了有利于垂直组装技术,连接器20包括多个连接器插针24,连接器插针24的特征为相对狭窄(即不弯曲成直角)并垂直于PCB12的平面16定向。这种布置使得容易制造连接器20且成本相对低,因为可使用单拉向成型模具来形成连接器20,如成型技术领域中的技术人员所认识的。
模块10包括外壳26,外壳26构造成接纳CBA22。外壳26可以限定诸如槽28的保持特征件,该保持特征件构造成与诸如连接器20的凸片30的配合特征件相互配合,以在将CBA22放置入外壳26时,将连接器20定位或固定至外壳26的壁32上。当内插器36(图2)连接至模块10时,该保持特征件将机械插入载荷传递至外壳壁。该非限制性示例说明槽28和凸片30的定向如何进一步允许或有利于所需的垂直组装技术。
外壳26可以进一步构造成在外壳26的壁32上限定一开口34,在CBA22安装入外壳26作为组装模块的一部分时或之后,该开口34靠近连接器20。该示例中,壁32特征为垂直于PCB12的平面16。通过限定开口34相对于PCB12的该定向,模块10能够提供通向模块10的侧入口连接或旁路连接。
为此,模块10可包括内插器36(图2),该内插器构造成以一种方式连接至外壳26,下面将更详细解释。该内插器36包括多个匹配插针38,匹配插针38大致是直的且平行于PCB12的平面16定向。较佳地,每个匹配插针38包括或限定叉状端40(图3),叉状端40构造成每个与一个或更多个连接器插针24形成电接触。如果需要更高的电流连接,例如大于10安培(10A),则多个匹配插针38可一起形成为缩短,从而多个叉状端40一起缩短,从而当内插器36插入开口34时,当叉状端被压在连接器插针上方和连接器插针24上时,电流负载由不只一个所形成的连接来分担。
模块10还可包括护罩42,护罩42相邻于开口34连接至外壳26的壁32。护罩42可以粘接或焊接(金属或塑料焊接)至外壳26,这取决于用于形成护罩42和外壳26的材料。或者,外壳可以构造成限定护罩42。即,护罩42和外壳26可以整体形成为一体件。
护罩42总体构造成接纳内插器36,从而匹配插针38的叉状端40可以与连接器插针24形成电连接。护罩42也可构造成与匹配插头46配合,以在匹配插头46沿箭头44所示方向连接至或插入至内插器36时,密封开口和/或密封该匹配插头46与内插器36之间的接触。为了改善密封,匹配插头46、护罩42和/或内插器36可包括压缩密封件(图未示)。在连接器密封领域中,已知形成压缩密封件的合适设计和材料。
内插器36和/或护罩42可包括与匹配插头46上的键槽50配合的特征件(图未示),从而在该匹配插头插入内插器36和/或护罩42时确保适当定向。与键槽50配合的特征件也可用于区分具有基本上相同电子器件和总体功能但因为模块10内的软件对于特定应用(例如特定的汽车模块)是独特的而不同的模块。
连接器20的本体部分(除了连接器插针之外的部分),内插器36的本体部分(除了匹配插针之外的部分)和护罩42都可由聚合化合物适当地形成,这些聚合化合物具有适合模块10的应用环境的性能特性。如果外壳需要消散相对大量的功率,例如超过10瓦(10W),则较佳地是由铸铝形成外壳26。此外,铝壳可形成法拉第笼来保护PCB12上的电路不受电磁干扰。当然,外壳26可以由与上述部件所使用的聚合化合物相同的聚合化合物形成。连接器插针24和匹配插针可以由铜合金形成,可选地镀镍或镀锌以改善抗腐蚀性,如本领域技术人员将认识到的。或者,匹配插针38,特别是插座端40可以由具有改善的弹性特征的材料形成,诸如铍-铜合金。
图4进一步示出模块10的非限制性示例,具体地内插器36的特征。该剖视图示出螺纹区域48,该螺纹区域48构造成辅助将内插器36从模块移走,由此断开与CBA12的电连接。将内插器36配置成可拆卸且可更换对于维护模块10是有利的,例如匹配插针损坏时可更换内插器36,或者例如因为模块10的软件已经变化而需要修改模块以将匹配插头46与不同构型的键槽50配合。
因此,提供了一种电子模块(模块10)。本文所描述的特征,具体地内插器36与连接器20之间的配合,允许使用垂直装配技术来有利地组装模块10。另外,具有更可更换的内插器36提供了一种维护模块10的有时容易损坏的特征件(例如弯曲匹配插针)的方式。此外,安装内插器36可以推迟到组装模块10的最后一步。在对于各模块之间的不同仅在于软件和/或与匹配连接器的键槽50配合的构造特征的情形中,这将是有利的。如此,可以组装(除了安装内插器)、堆存并然后通过编程和/或安装适当配置的内插器36来组装模块。

Claims (4)

1.一种电子模块(10),包括:
包括印刷电路板(PCB(12)),其中所述PCB(12)限定PCB(12)的平面(16);
连接器(20),所述连接器(20)附连至所述PCB(12),以形成电路板组件(CBA(12)),其中所述连接器(20)包括垂直于所述平面(16)定向的多个连接器插针(24);
外壳(26),所述外壳(26)构造成接纳所述CBA(12),所述外壳(26)构造成在外壳(26)的壁(32)上形成开口(34),当组装所述CBA(12)时,所述开口(34)靠近所述连接器(20),其中壁(32)的特征为垂直于所述平面(16);以及
内插器(36),所述内插器(36)配置成连接至所述外壳(26),其中所述内插器(36)包括平行于所述平面(16)定向的多个匹配插针(38),每个匹配插针(38)限定叉状端(40),所述叉状端(40)构造成在所述内插器(36)插入所述开口(34)时与每个所述连接器插针(24)形成电接触。
2.根据权利要求1所述的电子模块(10),其特征在于:所述外壳包括护罩(42),所述护罩(42)相邻于所述开口(34)连接至所述壁(32),所述护罩(42)构造成接纳所述内插器(36)并在配合插头(46)连接至所述内插器(36)时与所述匹配插头(46)配合以密封所述开口(34)。
3.根据权利要求1所述的电子模块(10),其特征在于:所述外壳相邻于所述开口(34)限定护罩(42),所述护罩(42)构造成接纳所述内插器(36)并在配合插头(46)连接至所述内插器(36)时与所述匹配插头(46)配合以密封所述开口(34)。
4.根据权利要求1所述的电子模块(10),其特征在于:所述内插器(36)包括螺纹区域(48),所述螺纹区域(48)构造成用于将所述内插器(36)从所述CBA(12)移走。
