使用固态驱动器的视频点播服务方法
技术领域
本发明涉及一种使用SSD的VOD服务方法,更具体地,涉及一种使用SSD的VOD服务方法,通过在多个数据包阵列上加载待传输的数据包并且以所加载的数据包组为单位分配CPU会话,可以大大降低CPU的占用率,从而使VOD服务在高速下进行。
背景技术
随着数字技术、图像压缩处理技术、高速计算机通信和光通信技术的发展,在宽带中进行图像信息传输成为可能,从而在互联网上已实现自由的双向服务。进一步地,与传统的按次付费(PPV)服务不同,提供了双向图像服务,在传统的按次付费服务中用户点播节目并等待,而在双向图像服务中用户在期望时间内立即选择并观看期望的节目,即,提供了视频点播(VOD)服务。特别是,由于IPTV和UCC的激活,所述VOD业务已于2000年后被积极使用。
同时,传统的VOD服务采用硬盘驱动器(Hard Disk Drive,HDD)作为存储设备以机械的方式执行读取/写入,使得读取/写入速度缓慢,因此一个基于HDD的服务器仅支持基本上1Gbps~1.5Gbps(千兆位/秒)范围内的速度。
为了解决这样的HDD问题,已提出固态驱动器(Solid State Drive,SSD)来纯粹电子化地执行读取/写入,该固态驱动器包括半导体存储器,例如,DRAM或NAND存储器,而且由于所述SDD以电子方式运行,相比于所述HDD,所述SDD可以以快得多的速度执行所述读取/写入。因此,目前做出了各种尝试以提供使用SSD作为存储设备的VOD服务。
同时,在VOD服务中,网络上的每个数据包基本上传输1500字节,而服务器的操作系统管理CPU来为每个会话处理一个数据包,即,从存储设备中为每个会话读取一个数据包并通过网络向请求方客户端传输所读取的数据包。
因此,虽然传统的VOD服务器采用的SSD存储能够充分支持等于或者大于10Gbps的读取/写入速度,但是CPU要处理基本上每秒800,000(10,000,000/1,500)个指令以提供所述10Gbps的服务,使得CPU占用率增加到90%以上,因而CPU根本不能执行诸如系统管理等其他任务,这样,只可能提供最大速度为5~6Gbps的服务。
发明内容
<技术问题>
本发明是为了解决上述问题,并且本发明的目的在于提供一种使用SSD的VOD服务方法,通过在多个数据包阵列上加载待传输的数据包并且以所加载的数据包组为单位分配CPU会话,可以大大降低CPU的占用率,从而使VOD服务在高速下进行。
<技术方案>
根据本发明的一个方面,提供一种使用SSD的VOD服务方法,所述VOD服务方法包括:通过使用所述SSD的VOD服务器,(a)根据目标传输速度分配数据包阵列;(b)当存在来自客户端的VOD请求时,构建含有请求方客户端的IP地址、请求内容的文件名和文件存储地址的请求索引表;(c)从所述SSD中读取所述请求内容的预定数量的数据包,将所述数据包与所述请求索引表中用于识别所述请求方客户端的信息相匹配,并在所述数据包阵列上加载所匹配的数据包;以及(d)当所述数据包阵列的存储空间满了时,根据所述请求索引表同时传输所述数据包阵列中存储的数据包给CPU的一个会话。
在上述配置中,所述数据包阵列可以设置成关于VOD内容图像的每个画质水平的多个数据包阵列。
所述VOD服务方法还可以包括(e)当请求的VOD内容传输完成时,从所述请求索引表中删除相应的请求项目。
根据本发明的另一个方面,提供一种用于存储执行根据权利要求1~3中任一项所述的方法的程序的计算机可读取记录介质。
<有益效果>
根据本发明的一种使用SSD的VOD服务方法,通过在多个数据包阵列上加载待传输的数据包并且以所加载的数据包组为单位分配CPU会话,能够大大降低CPU的占用率,从而提供高速的VOD服务。

具体实施方式
以下将结合说明书附图对根据本发明的使用SSD的VOD服务方法的示例性实施例进行详细描述。
本发明是基于这一事实而作出的,在VOD内容中仅请求方客户端的IP地址和所请求内容的类型(画质)是不同的,而数据模式是相同的。
图1为实现本发明的使用SSD的VOD服务方法的VOD服务器的外部功能框图。如图1所示,本发明的VOD服务器由用于支持本发明的VOD服务方法的控制模块110与以下组件间的交互工作配置而成:用于操作CPU的服务器的操作系统(OS)10、用于在SSD100中执行数据读取/写入的直接存储器存取(DMA)20,用于将CPU与外围设备相连接的外围输入/输出(PIO)30,例如,快速外围组件互连(PCI-e),以及用于提供高速网络输入/输出处理的网络接口40,例如,TCP/IP卸载引擎(TOE)。
在上述配置中,控制模块110可以由安装在SSD100内的固件形成,而将在以下描述的所请求内容的请求索引表可以在由控制模块110管理的临时存储(TEMP)区中构建。同时,数据包阵列区域120包括在SSD100中,数据包阵列区域120将待传输的VOD数据包以预定数量的数据包为单位分组,例如,以1,000个数据包为单位,然后临时存储所述分组后的VOD数据包。
图2为本发明的使用SSD的VOD服务方法的流程图,所述VOD服务方法由本发明的控制模块110执行,作为本发明如无另行规定的主体。如图2所示,首先在步骤S10中将根据图像的画质的数据包阵列,例如,超高清级别、全高清级别、高清级别、标准清晰度级别或诸如此类,分配给SSD100的数据包阵列区域120,并且所述数据包阵列可以由服务器管理员进行适当地确定,例如,综合考虑到目标传输速率、每个画质水平的请求比、同时存取者的数量等。
图4为示意性地示出了根据本发明的SSD100的数据包阵列区域120中排列的数据包阵列的示意图。如图4所示,根据本发明的SSD100的数据包阵列区域120中排列的所述数据包阵列可以为图像的每个画质水平进行划分。当请求相对较高的比率时,如全高清级别或超高清级别,可以为所述全高清级别或所述超高清级别分配更多的存储区域。此外,可以以这样的方式构建所述数据包阵列:针对每一个请求方客户端将一个数据包分配给标准清晰度级别(2Mbps水平)的数据包阵列,将两个数据包分配给高清级别(4Mbps水平)的数据包阵列,以及将四个数据包分配给全高清级别(8Mbps水平)的数据包阵列。
根据所加载的数据包,每个画质水平的数据包阵列对应于相应数据包被传输给的请求方客户端的信息,例如,请求索引表的索引号的信息、请求方客户端的IP地址信息等。
返回到图2,在步骤S20中确定是否存在来自随机请求方客户端的VOD服务请求。作为步骤S20的确定结果,当存在VOD服务传输请求时,执行步骤S30,根据相应的VOD服务请求更新请求索引表。
图3为示出了根据本发明的SSD100的控制模块110中构建的请求索引表的示例的示意图。如图3所示,根据本发明的请求索引表可主要包括索引号、请求方客户端的访问IP地址和请求内容的识别信息,例如,请求内容的SSD100内的文件名和文件存储地址。
接着,根据请求方客户端请求的相应VOD的画质水平,从请求索引表指定的SSD100内的文件存储地址中读取相应数量的数据包,然后在相应的数据包阵列上进行加载,例如,在步骤S40中,将一个数据包加载到标准清晰度级别的SD数据包阵列上,并将两个数据包加载到高清级别的HD数据包阵列上,通过控制DMA20可以执行这种读取操作。
接着,随机数据包阵列在步骤S50中确定存储空间是否已满,例如,在1,000个数据包的数据包阵列情况下,确定是否加载了所有1,000个数据包。当还没有加载所有1,000个数据包时,重复执行步骤S20之后的步骤。当加载了所有1,000个数据包时,通过控制OS10同时传输用于完全打包进CPU的数据包阵列的数据包的传输指令。相应地,CPU设置一个会话并同时向网络接口传输相应数据包阵列上加载的每个数据包,以指示每个请求方客户端传送该数据包。在这个过程中,根据请求索引表,在相应数据包的请求方客户端的信息和请求方客户端的IP地址被识别后,执行传输。由图4可知,通过请求索引的索引号识别相应请求方客户端的IP地址。
如上所述,根据本发明的VOD服务方法,通过向一个CPU分配多个数据包然后传输所述分配的数据包,能够显著降低CPU的占用率,并相应地将最大传输速度增加到SSD100所允许的最大读取/写入速度。例如,在传输800,000个数据包时,现有技术中CPU应设置总共800,000个会话,但是根据本发明仅需要设置总共800个会话,因此,降低了CPU的占用率并且大大提高了传输速度。
图5和图6分别为示出了根据本发明的VOD服务的实际监测屏幕的示例的示意图。如图5的右下屏幕所示,虽然VOD服务器当前以10Gbps的传输速度执行VOD服务,但是如图左上侧所示,根据CPU的VOD内容传输,占用率仅为0.4%。此外,尽管执行余下的操作,占用率仅为2.8%并且97.2%处于空闲状态。
图6中,如图5的右下屏幕所示,虽然VOD服务器当前以20Gbps的传输速度执行VOD服务,但是如图左上侧所示,根据CPU的VOD内容传输,占用率仅为0.5%。此外,尽管执行余下的操作,占用率仅为10.4%且89.6%处于空闲状态。
返回到图2,在步骤S80中确定所请求的VOD内容的传输是否完成。当没有完成传输时,重复执行步骤S20以后的步骤。当完成传输时,执行步骤S90,从请求索引表中删除相应的请求项目,然后返回到步骤S20。
使用SSD的VOD服务方法不限于上述实施例,在不脱离本发明技术构思所允许的范围内可以对其进行各种修改并实施。

Claims (4)

1.一种使用SSD的VOD服务方法,所述VOD服务方法包括:
通过使用所述SSD的VOD服务器,
(a)根据目标传输速度分配数据包阵列;
(b)当存在来自客户端的VOD请求时,构建含有请求方客户端的IP地址、请求内容的文件名和文件存储地址的请求索引表;
(c)从所述SSD中读取所述请求内容的预定数量的数据包,将所述数据包与所述请求索引表中用于识别所述请求方客户端的信息相匹配,并在所述数据包阵列上加载所匹配的数据包;以及
(d)当所述数据包阵列的存储空间满了时,根据所述请求索引表同时传输所述数据包阵列中存储的数据包给CPU的一个会话。
2.根据权利要求1所述的VOD服务方法,其特征在于,所述数据包阵列设置成关于VOD内容图像的每个画质水平的多个数据包阵列。
3.根据权利要求2所述的VOD服务方法,其特征在于,还包括(e)当请求的VOD内容传输完成时,从所述请求索引表中删除相应的请求项目。
4.一种用于存储执行根据权利要求1~3中任一项所述的方法的程序的计算机可读取记录介质。
