Description

一种像素驱动电路及其驱动方法、显示装置
技术领域
本发明涉及显示装置领域,尤其涉及一种像素驱动电路及其驱动方法、显示装置。
背景技术
采用主动矩阵有机发光二极管面板(AMOLED,ActiveMatrix/Organic Light Emitting Diode)的显示装置的模组设计相当复杂,当显示装置的解析度提高到3840x2160(大尺寸显示装置)以上的时候,一般采用红绿蓝白(RGBW,Red Green Blue White)四种颜色的子像素设计。对于四种颜色的子像素设计一般都采用栅极/源极双边驱动,图1为现有技术的四种颜色子像素的驱动电路示意图,如图1所示,现有技术的像素驱动电路包括:第一驱动电路板,第二驱动电路板,像素阵列;
其中,所述第一驱动电路板包括若干第一子像素驱动芯片201;所述第二驱动电路板包括若干第二子像素驱动芯片301;所述像素阵列包括若干像素;每个像素包括:一个红色子像素101、一个绿色子像素102、一个蓝色子像素103、一个白色子像素104;一个所述第一子像素驱动芯片和一个所述第二子像素驱动芯片、以及若干像素相对应设置;所述第一子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素的红色子像素、绿色子像素、蓝色子像素、白色子像素等所有子像素连接,并且,所述第二子像素驱动芯片也分别与每个像素的红色子像素、绿色子像素、蓝色子像素、白色子像素等所有子像素连接;每个子像素与子像素驱动芯片的引脚相连。一般情况下,所述第一驱动电路板和第二驱动电路板是指X向电路板,分别位于显示装置的显示屏上部或者下部。
每个所述子像素驱动芯片包括四组DA转换器,所述四组DA转换器分别对应四种颜色的子像素,每组DA转换器对应一种颜色的子像素,且每组DA转换器对应一组Gamma电压供给,Gamma电压供给会占用所述子像素驱动芯片的9根脚位、8根脚位或者7根脚位,以9根脚位为例,一组Gamma电压供给会占用9根脚位,四组Gamma电压供给会占用36根脚位,由于Gamma电压供给的信号线暴漏在外边,因此数量太多的Gamma电压供给会导致大量的噪声干扰,影响显示质量;此外,所述子像素驱动芯片的价格昂贵,因此要尽量节省其脚位的使用数量;而且现有技术中的像素驱动电路需要大量使用子像素驱动芯片以满足脚位数量要求,器件太多会造成显示装置的尺寸太大,难以满足显示装置的薄型化和简洁设计。
发明内容
为了解决现有技术中的数量太多的Gamma电压供给会导致大量的噪声干扰、影响显示质量的问题,节省子像素驱动芯片脚位的使用数量的问题,以及节省子像素驱动芯片数量以满足显示装置的薄型化和简洁设计的问题,本发明提供一种像素驱动电路及其驱动方法,通过源极双驱动的方式,节省了子像素驱动芯片脚位的使用数量,进而减少了过多的Gamma电压供给,提高了显示质量,以及减少了子像素驱动芯片数量使显示装置能够达到的薄型化和简洁设计。
本发明提供一种像素驱动电路,所述像素驱动电路应用于驱动像素阵列,所述像素阵列中每个像素有四个颜色互不相同的子像素;
所述像素驱动电路包括:第一子像素驱动芯片和第二子像素驱动芯片;其中,第一子像素驱动芯片分别与所述每个像素的部分子像素连接,同时第二子像素驱动芯片分别与所述每个像素另外部分子像素连接。
其中,每个像素中的四个子像素包括:红色、绿色、蓝色和白色四个子像素。
进一步,所述像素阵列中,每个像素的子像素并排设置在该像素阵列的同一行;所述第一子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素中的两个子像素相连,且所述第二子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素中另两个子像素相连。
或者,所述像素阵列中像素的子像素排列方式为2×2矩阵排列;所述第一子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素同一列的两个子像素相连,且所述第二子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素另一列的两个子像素相连。
进一步,所述像素驱动电路还包括时序控制器;所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片分别与所述时序控制器连接;所述时序控制器使所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片同时对位于同一行的每个像素的子像素提供驱动电压。
再进一步,所述时序控制器向所述第一子像素驱动芯片发送两个子像素的Gamma电压信号,该时序控制器向所述第二子像素驱动芯片发送另两个子像素的Gamma电压信号。

具体地,所述第一子像素驱动芯片的两组数/模转换器一一对应地与每个像素的两个子像素的发光器件的源极相连;
所述第二子像素驱动芯片的两组数/模转换器一一对应地与每个像素的另两个子像素的发光器件的源极相连。
本发明提供一种像素驱动电路的驱动方法,用于驱动如上所述的像素驱动电路,所述驱动方法包括:
所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片接收时序控制器发送的扫描控制信号,在所述第一子像素驱动芯片为每个像素中的子像素提供驱动电压的同时,所述第二子像素驱动芯片为该像素中位于同一行的其它子像素提供驱动电压。
本发明还提供一种显示装置,包括如上所述的像素驱动电路。
本发明提供一种像素驱动电路及其驱动方法、显示装置,通过源极双驱动的方式,节省了子像素驱动芯片脚位的使用数量,其有益效果具体包括:
一、减少了Gamma电压供给所占用的脚位数,进而减少了Gamma电压供给数量,避免了大量的噪声干扰,提升了显示质量;
二、减少了每个子像素驱动芯片的数/模转换器的数量,进而减少了子像素驱动芯片的数量,节约了成本,减小了显示装置的尺寸,使显示装置能够达到的薄型化和简洁设计;
三、通过源极单边驱动,将显示信号频率降为现有技术的一半,提高了信号传输效率,改善了产品EMI特性;
四、极大地降低了芯片的尺寸和成本,并改善了显示装置的整机性能。

具体实施方式
为了更好地理解本发明,下面结合附图与具体实施方式对本发明作进一步描述。
本发明实施例提供一种像素驱动电路,图2为本发明实施例所述的像素驱动电路的结构示意图,如图2所示,所述像素驱动电路应用于驱动像素阵列,所述像素阵列中每个像素有四个颜色互不相同的子像素;所述子像素按行排布;所述像素驱动电路逐行提供扫描控制信号。
所述像素驱动电路包括:第一子像素驱动芯片201和第二子像素驱动芯片301;其中,第一子像素驱动芯片201与所述每个像素的部分子像素连接,同时第二子像素驱动芯片301与所述每个像素的另外部分子像素连接。
所述第一子像素驱动芯片201和第二子像素驱动芯片301可同时对位于所述像素阵列中每个像素在同一行的子像素提供驱动电压。所述像素驱动电路应用于驱动像素阵列,所述像素阵列中每个像素有四个颜色互不相同的子像素。
具体地,本发明实施例所述的像素驱动电路,每个像素中的四个子像素包括:红色子像素101、绿色子像素102、蓝色子像素103、白色子像素104。
现有技术中的像素驱动电路驱动四个子像素时,每个子像素驱动芯片都要同时连接四个子像素,例如第一子像素驱动芯片连接红色、绿色、蓝色、白色的四个子像素,同时第二子像素驱动芯片也连接该四个子像素。而每个子像素都需要一组数/模转换器,相应地,也需要一组Gamma电压。例如,每组Gamma电压需要占用子像素驱动芯片的9个脚位,为了驱动四个所述子像素,每个子像素驱动芯片都需要4组Gamma电压并且占用36个子像素驱动芯片的脚位。
而本发明实施例提供的像素驱动电路驱动四个子像素时,如图2所示,第一子像素驱动芯片201与所述每个像素部分子像素连接,如图2中所示与红色子像素101和蓝色子像素103分别连接,同时第二子像素驱动芯片301与所述每个像素另外部分子像素连接,即与绿色子像素102和白色子像素104连接。所述两个子像素驱动芯片可同时对一个像素中的同行像素(位于同一行的子像素)提供电压,所以从整体上将子像素驱动芯片的脚位占用数量减少为约一半,减少了Gamma电压的信号连接线的数目,简化了芯片的设计,降低了芯片的复杂度和成本。
具体地,本发明实施例所述的像素驱动电路,所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片都连接时序控制器,所述时序控制器使所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片同时对一个像素的四个所述子像素提供驱动电压。
图3为本发明实施例所述的时序控制器连接第一子像素驱动芯片和第二子像素驱动芯片的示意图,如图3所示,第一驱动电路板2包括第一子像素驱动芯片201,第二驱动电路板3包括第二子像素驱动芯片301,第一子像素驱动芯片201连接时序控制器4,并且第二子像素驱动芯片301也连接时序控制器4。时序控制器4是指TCON,为了使每个像素的四个子像素都正常工作,形成一个完整的像素工作单元,需要协调所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片,使其提供的驱动电压的效果与一个子像素驱动芯片为四个所述子像素提供驱动电压的效果相同。本发明采用时序控制器完成所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片的协调工作,时序控制器使所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片同时对一个像素的位于同一行的所述子像素提供驱动电压,从而达到一个完整像素的工作效果。
具体地,本发明所述的像素驱动电路,所述第一子像素驱动芯片201和所述第二子像素驱动芯片301连接所述时序控制器4的方式包括:FFC(Flexible flat cable,柔性扁平电缆)连接方式、FPC(FlexiblePrinted Circuit,柔性印刷电路板)连接方式以及CABLE等线束形式的连接方式。
具体地,本发明实施例所述的像素驱动电路:
所述时序控制器向所述第一子像素驱动芯片发送两个子像素的Gamma电压信号,该时序控制器向所述第二子像素驱动芯片发送另两个子像素的Gamma电压信号。所述像素驱动电路包括四组数/模转换器;
所述第一子像素驱动芯片上设置有两组数/模转换器;所述两组数/模转换器用于接收两个子像素的Gamma电压信号;并一一对应地为每个像素的两个子像素提供驱动电压;
所述第二子像素驱动芯片上同样设置有两组数/模转换器;所述两组数/模转换器用于接收两个子像素的Gamma电压信号;并一一对应地为每个像素的另两个子像素提供驱动电压。
数/模转换器用于将Gamma电压数字信号转换为模拟电压信号,将图像数据转换为模拟电压。Gamma电压信号能够产生屏显需要的各个灰阶的电压,使显示具有层次感。
进一步,本发明实施例所述的像素驱动电路,
所述第一子像素驱动芯片连接两个所述子像素的发光器件的源极;
所述第二子像素驱动芯片连接剩余的两个所述子像素的发光器件的源极。
由于本发明所述像素驱动电路的采用源极单边驱动,所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片在同一时刻,分别传递不同的显示数据,因此将显示信号频率降为现有技术的一半,提高了信号传输效率,改善了产品EMI(Electro Magnetic Interference,电磁干扰)特性。
可选地,本发明实施例所述的像素驱动电路,所述像素阵列像素的排列方式为stripe(条型)排列方式或者square(2×2矩阵排列)排列方式。
由于显示装置的像素阵列像素的排列方式一般为以上两种,因此,本发明实施例1和实施例2分别针对这两种排列方式详细介绍,此处不再赘述。但是不论采用何种排列方式,只要是针对每个像素所包括的子像素,将子像素分为两部分,一部分连接第一子像素驱动芯片,剩余的另一部分连接第二子像素驱动芯片,均可实现本发明的技术效果。
本发明实施例还提供一种像素驱动电路的驱动方法,用于驱动本发明所述的像素驱动电路,所述驱动方法包括:
所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片接收时序控制器发送的扫描控制信号,在所述第一子像素驱动芯片为每个像素中的部分子像素提供驱动电压的同时,所述第二子像素驱动芯片为该像素中位于同一行的其它子像素提供驱动电压。
时序控制器将每个像素的数据拆成两组,一组是第一子像素驱动芯片的第一扫描控制信号,并将第一扫描控制信号发送至第一子像素驱动芯片;另一组是第二子像素驱动芯片的第二扫描控制信号,并将第二扫描控制信号发送至第二子像素驱动芯片,这样就能使第一子像素驱动芯片和第二子像素驱动芯片协同工作,共同完成对一个完整像素的电压驱动。
具体地,本发明实施例所述的驱动方法,所述时序控制器按照每行像素的顺序提供所述扫描控制信号。
例如,对于解析度为3840×2160的显示装置,其像素阵列为3840列、2160行。对于每帧图像,时序控制器需要提供扫描控制信号使每个像素都被扫描,所述时序控制器按照每行像素的顺序提供扫描控制信号,例如按照自上而下的行的顺序,对于2160行像素,提供2160次扫描控制信号,每次扫描控制信号控制一行像素。
本发明实施例还提供一种显示装置,如液晶面板、平板电脑、手机屏幕等显示装置,其包括如上所述的像素驱动电路。
实施例1:
本发明实施例1所述的像素驱动电路,应用于stripe(条状)排列方式的像素阵列,所述stripe排列方式是每个像素的子像素排成一行。图4为本发明实施例1所述的像素驱动电路的结构示意图,如图4所示,例如,所述四个子像素按照红色、绿色、蓝色、白色的顺序、以行组成一个像素110;所述第一子像素驱动芯片201位于第一驱动电路板2、所述第二子像素驱动芯片301位于第二驱动电路板3,所述第一驱动电路板2是X向电路板且位于显示装置的显示屏上方,所述第二驱动电路板3是X向电路板且位于显示装置的显示屏下方;其中,绿色子像素102、白色子像素104分别连接第一子像素驱动芯片201,红色子像素101、蓝色子像素103分别连接第二子像素驱动芯片301;栅线Gate1连接第一行像素110,第一行的一个像素110在图4的虚线框区域中,栅线Gate2连接第二行像素,以此类推,栅线Gate n连接第n行像素。
对于一个像素,每个子像素驱动芯片仅需要两组内部的数/模转换器,并且仅为两组Gamma电压预留脚位,简化了芯片的设计,降低了芯片的复杂度和成本。例如每组Gamma电压需要9根引脚线,则第一子像素驱动芯片为了绿色子像素和白色子像素仅需预留18根引脚线,第二子像素驱动芯片为了红色子像素和蓝色子像素仅需预留18根引脚线,减少了信号连接线的数目,提高了显示质量。
时序控制器提供逐行扫描的扫描控制信号,例如针对解析度为3840×2160的大尺寸显示装置,每一帧图像需要逐行扫描全部像素,因此每一帧图像的扫描时间共需要2160个时间阶段,每一个阶段为子像素进行开启并充电,任何时间阶段都只有一行像素处于在启动/充电状态;具体为:当时序控制器使所述像素驱动电路对一行像素进行扫描时,第一子像素驱动芯片为绿色子像素和白色子像素充电,同时第二子像素驱动芯片为红色子像素和蓝色子像素充电;任何时刻都是第一子像素驱动芯片和第二子像素驱动芯片同时给同一行上的像素充电,图5为本发明实施例1的栅线时序图,如图5所示,对第一行像素扫描时,栅线Gate1为高电平;对第二行像素扫描时,栅线Gate2为高电平;以此类推,对第n行像素扫描时,栅线Gate n为高电平。
时序控制器连接第一子像素驱动芯片和第二子像素驱动芯片,例如采用Cable方式,时序控制器通过Cable1线路为第一子像素驱动芯片提供绿色子像素和白色子像素的Gamma电压,同时时序控制器通过Cable2线路为第二子像素驱动芯片提供红色子像素和蓝色子像素的Gamma电压,时序控制器内部将每个像素的扫描数据分为两组,一组将绿色子像素和白色子像素的显示数据通过Cable1输入至第一驱动电路板,另外一组将红色子像素和蓝色子像素的显示数据通过Cable2输入至第二驱动电路板。
本发明实施例采用源极单边驱动,即所述第一子像素驱动芯片连接绿色子像素和白色子像素的发光器件的源极;所述第二子像素驱动芯片连接剩余的红色子像素和蓝色子像素的发光器件的源极,使信号频率降为原来的一半,改善了信号质量和产品EMI特性。
实施例2:
本发明实施例2所述的像素驱动电路与实施例1基本相同,不同之处在于实施例2所述的像素驱动电路应用于square(2×2矩阵排列)排列方式的像素阵列。图6为本发明实施例2所述的像素驱动电路的结构示意图,如图6所示,例如,每个像素110中,红色子像素101在蓝色子像素103之上,绿色子像素102在白色子像素104之上,红色子像素101和绿色子像素102位于单个像素的上侧,蓝色子像素103和白色子像素104位于单个像素的下侧。其中,绿色子像素102、白色子像素104分别连接第一子像素驱动芯片201,红色子像素101、蓝色子像素103分别连接第二子像素驱动芯片301。所述第一子像素驱动芯片201位于第一驱动电路板2上、所述第二子像素驱动芯片301位于第二驱动电路板3上。栅线Gate1连接第一行像素110,第一行的一个像素110在图6的虚线框区域中,以此类推,栅线Gate n连接第n行像素。
当时序控制器使所述像素驱动电路对像素进行扫描时,第一子像素驱动芯片为绿色子像素和白色子像素充电,第二子像素驱动芯片为红色子像素和蓝色子像素充电;任何时刻都是第一子像素驱动芯片和第二子像素驱动芯片同时给同一行上的像素充电。图7为本发明实施例2的栅线时序图,如图7所示,对第一行像素扫描时,栅线Gate1为高电平,以此类推,对第n行像素扫描时,栅线Gate n为高电平。
以上仅为本发明的优选实施例,当然,本发明还可以有其他多种实施例,在不背离本发明精神及其实质的情况下,熟悉本领域的技术人员当可根据本发明做出各种相应的改变和变形,但这些相应的改变和变形都应属于本发明所附的权利要求的保护范围。

Claims (10)

1.一种像素驱动电路,其特征在于,所述像素驱动电路应用于驱动像素阵列,所述像素阵列中每个像素有四个颜色互不相同的子像素;
所述像素驱动电路包括:第一子像素驱动芯片和第二子像素驱动芯片;其中,第一子像素驱动芯片分别与所述每个像素的部分子像素连接,第二子像素驱动芯片分别与所述每个像素另外部分子像素连接。
2.如权利要求1所述的像素驱动电路,其特征在于,每个像素中的四个子像素包括:红色、绿色、蓝色和白色四个子像素。
3.如权利要求1所述的像素驱动电路,其特征在于,所述像素阵列中,每个像素的子像素并排设置在该像素阵列的同一行;所述第一子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素中的两个子像素相连,且所述第二子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素中另两个子像素相连。
4.如权利要求1所述的像素驱动电路,其特征在于,所述像素阵列中像素的子像素排列方式为2×2矩阵排列;所述第一子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素同一列的两个子像素相连,且所述第二子像素驱动芯片分别与每个像素另一列的两个子像素相连。
5.如权利要求3或4所述的像素驱动电路,其特征在于,所述像素驱动电路还包括时序控制器;所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片分别与所述时序控制器连接;所述时序控制器使所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片同时对位于同一行每个像素的子像素提供驱动电压。
6.如权利要求5所述的像素驱动电路,其特征在于,所述时序控制器向所述第一子像素驱动芯片发送两个子像素的Gamma电压信号,该时序控制器向所述第二子像素驱动芯片发送另两个子像素的Gamma电压信号。
7.如权利要求5所述的像素驱动电路,其特征在于,所述像素驱动电路包括四组数/模转换器;
所述第一子像素驱动芯片上设置有两组数/模转换器;所述两组数/模转换器用于接收两个子像素的Gamma电压信号;并一一对应地为每个像素的两个子像素提供驱动电压;
所述第二子像素驱动芯片上同样设置有两组数/模转换器;所述两组数/模转换器用于接收两个子像素的Gamma电压信号;并一一对应地为每个像素的另两个子像素提供驱动电压。
8.如权利要求7所述的像素驱动电路,其特征在于,
所述第一子像素驱动芯片的两组数/模转换器一一对应地与每个像素的两个子像素的发光器件的源极相连;
所述第二子像素驱动芯片的两组数/模转换器一一对应地与每个像素的另两个子像素的发光器件的源极相连。
9.一种像素驱动电路的驱动方法,其特征在于,用于驱动权利要求2~8任一项所述的像素驱动电路,所述驱动方法包括:
所述第一子像素驱动芯片和所述第二子像素驱动芯片接收时序控制器发送的扫描控制信号,在所述第一子像素驱动芯片为每个像素中的子像素提供驱动电压的同时,所述第二子像素驱动芯片为该像素中位于同一行的其它子像素提供驱动电压。
10.一种显示装置,其特征在于,包括如权利要求1~8任一项所述的像素驱动电路。
