技术领域

背景技术

术语“内容”一般指能够被目标听众感知的信息，比如能够被显示的信息（如视频）和/或能够被听到的信息（如音频）。一种类型的内容被称为“节目内容”，它构成由实况内容广播公司提供的并根据预定播放时间段所回放的视频和/或音频。节目内容的实例包括电视播送节目（如电视连续剧的一集、体育比赛、电影等）、歌曲或音乐作品等。另一种类型的内容被称为“广告”，它构成的视频和/或音频用于鼓励购买所展示的商品和/或服务。又一种类型的内容被称为“基于网络的”或“存储的”内容，它构成存储在网络内并能够代替节目内容从网络中存取进行回放的视频和/或音频。

作为展示性实例，请求元数据的具体时间能够用于(i)将请求的元数据限制为仅仅与在这个时间点或之后被广播的节目内容对应的基于网络的内容相关联的元数据，或者(ii)过滤掉与在这个时间点之前广播的节目内容相关联的元数据。同样，可以提供电子设备120的地理信息，以使得网络内容提供商130，通过直接访问适当的电子节目指南（EPG）数据，能够更好地辨别在该地点计划要广播什么节目内容。结果，对元数据的请求能够避免不必要地检索与被广播节目内容没有对应关系的存储内容相关联的元数据。
正如图1所示，处理逻辑112可以适于至少部分地作为数据库管理系统（DBMS）运行，它控制着数据库114内数据的存储、检索、删除、安全和完整性。数据库114是关系数据库时，根据允许元数据170随后恢复的选定模式以定位与广播节目内容相关联的内容，比如节目或广告，来接收和分组元数据170。例如，该模式可以一季一季地或按集号来聚集与特定电视节目的若干集相关联的元数据。作为替代，该模式可以按照风格、演员、时间段（如日期和/或日内时间）等聚集内容。

选择了被显示对象后，元数据聚集系统110和电子设备120运行，以提供从广播节目内容的显示到基于网络内容的显示的基本上无缝转换，反之亦然。换言之，选择显示对象可以引起电子设备120访问具体的网站并检索特定的存储内容。

作为展示性实施例，PVR存储内容可以是标准清晰度（SD）格式的电视连续剧的具体集，而在请求了该具体集的元数据后，电子设备120收到的元数据标识网络内容提供商正在以高清晰度（HD）格式存储该集。类似于以上介绍的图1的内容传输系统，元数据聚集系统110根据收到的元数据，产生关系信息180，它对应于选定的高级选项，允许电子设备120的用户导航到由网络内容提供商存储的网页，被上传到电子设备120。

第一个高级选项的图标610（即“重新开始”图标）支持“重新开始”功能，它把被回放的内容源从广播节目内容改变为在网络上提供的对应内容的起点。更确切地说，如图7所示，在观看和/或收听由实况内容广播公司所供给的节目内容期间，选择“重新开始”图标610后，图1的电子设备120被配置为把引入内容的源从实况内容广播公司改变为对相应存储内容具有访问权限的网络内容提供商。这涉及电子设备120既确定用于网络内容提供商（称之为“提供商链接”700）的链接700（如URL），又确定识别由网络内容提供商所存储内容的链接710，该内容基本上与当前从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容类似（或一致）（后文称为“存储内容链接”710）。通过将频道信息提供给元数据聚集系统，可以从元数据聚集系统中检索出这样的信息。
此后，电子设备120切换到接收和回放与链接710相关联的存储内容，从存储内容的起点开始，代替选中重新开始图标时在广播节目内容中的点。这是通过启动播放器的逻辑完成的，它负责回放由内容提供商存储的基于网络的内容，同时负责调谐以接收该广播节目内容的逻辑被临时停止。
返回参考图6，选择第二个高级选项的图标611（即“追上”图标）时，使电子设备120列出当前被显示的广播节目内容的全部先前广播的集。更确切地说，如图8所示，在观看和/或收听由实况内容广播公司所供给的节目内容期间，选择“追上”图标611后，图1的电子设备120被配置为显示被远程存储并可获得的当前季（如第9季）的先前广播集800的列表800。这就允许用户“追上”该节目，如果情节在集之间是连续的。
正如图8所示，选择了多集节目第9季的过去集810进行显示，它使电子设备120访问与过去集810相关联的链接（如URL），以便检索在网络内容提供商处存储内容。此后，电子设备120加工所存储内容呈现所存储内容用于显示。
返回参考图6，第三个高级选项的图标612，称为“相关的”图标612，列出了与多集节目的不同季相关联的全部集，也许甚至与当前显示的多集节目相关的节目。更确切地说，如图9A所示，在观看和/或收听由实况内容广播公司所供给的节目内容期间，选择“相关的”图标612后，图1的电子设备120被配置为显示可以从网络内容提供商得到的、来自不同季的先前广播集以及有关的节目的列表900。
根据这个实施例，通过选择季对象910可以访问不同季的集，它引起了具有由内容提供商之一存储的若干集的每季节目的列表，如图所示，已经选择了第9季，所以现在显示与特定电视节目的第9季相关联的若干集的每一集。选择了第八集920进行显示并且得到与选定集相关联的链接（如URL）后由电子设备120检索，该链接标识出这样的内容被存储在网络内容提供商的何处。
此外，列表900可以展示对象930，当选择时，使电子设备产生与当前节目中出演的演员为特征的节目的可选择图像图标。同样，列表900可以显示对象940，当选择时，使电子设备产生可选择的图像图标，表示与当前广播节目相关的节目，比如同一节目的不同版本（如当CSI 由电视播送时的CSI ）。
现在参考图6和图9B，当观看和/或收听由实况内容广播公司所供给的内容期间，选择“相关的”图标612后，图1的电子设备120也可以被配置为产生显示屏950，它展示广告图标960，它们指向多种商品和/或服务的广告。不仅如此，显示屏可以展示与该内容有关的视频片断970、图像980或音频片断990。这里，在选择视频片断图标970后列出相关内容的视频片断，包括商品和/或服务的广告。在选择图像图标980和音频片断图标990后可以分别列出相关内容的图像和音频片断。这些产品可以限于在当前被显示内容中所示的商品和/或服务，也可以与所显示内容内的主题无关地选择。
第四个高级选项图标613支持“技巧播放”功能，它把观看和/或收听从广播节目内容改变到在网络上提供的内容，并且试图将基于网络内容回放的起点调整到与广播节目内容的最后回放段一致。更确切地说，如图10所示，在观看和/或收听由实况内容广播公司所供给的节目内容期间“技巧播放”图标613可用并选择后，图1的电子设备120被配置为将引入内容的源从实况内容广播公司改变到网络内容提供商。
“技巧播放”特征涉及电子设备既确定用于网络内容提供商的提供商链接1000（如URL），又确定提供由网络内容提供商所存储内容的访问权限的存储内容链接1010，该内容基本上与当前从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容类似（或一致）。此后，电子设备切换到接收和回放与链接1010相关联的存储内容，在节目内容的回放停止处对应的位置开始（如大约在选中“技巧播放”图标613的时间）。启动播放器逻辑，它负责回放由内容提供商存储内容，同时负责调谐以接收该广播节目内容的逻辑被临时停止（项1020）。
现在参考图11，介绍了由元数据聚集系统支持的第五个高级选项的示范实施例，其中在广播节目内容1100中包含的广告能够被选择为比在广播传输中正常规定的格式更长的格式显示。当观看和/或收听由实况内容广播公司所供给的广告1110期间选择“广告插入”图标614后，图1的电子设备120也可以被配置为产生显示屏，展示广告1110的更长版本1120。结果，在完成了该广告更长版本1120的回放后，电子设备可以适于在观看下一段节目1140前面跳过剩余的广告1130，并且开始显示广播节目内容所对应的基于网络的内容1150。
作为替代，预想了在按下“广告插入”图标614（或附加图标615）后，电子设备按照广告的更长版本1120超过剩余广告1130的时间量，在时间偏移1160的点返回显示节目1140。
现在参考图12，介绍了广播节目内容1200内的全国性广告1210被目标广告1220和/或本地广告1230替换的示范实施例。自动地或通过访问电子设备的设置配置，广播节目内容1200内的全国性广告1210可以被存储的广告（即基于网络内容的一部分的广告）替换。这些存储的广告可以是目标广告1220，是与观看者预定偏爱一致的广告。作为对目标广告的替代或补充，全国性广告1210可以被本地广告1230替换，它们是分配给所选定电子设备驻留的地理区域（或由用户选定区域）中的广告。
已经公开了示范实施例和最好的模式后，对所公开的实施例可以作出若干修改和变化，同时保持在由以下权利要求书界定的本发明实施例的范围之内。

Claims (15)

1.一种元数据聚集系统，包括：
存储器；
通信接口，提供对所述系统外部信息的访问；以及
处理逻辑，耦接到所述存储器并与所述通信接口一起操作以接收和输出信息，
所述处理逻辑执行对具有与节目内容相关联的存储内容的网络内容提供商的查找，
所述处理逻辑向网络内容提供商发送包括过滤参数的元数据请求消息，以进而接收与计划要从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容相关联的元数据，
所述处理逻辑从与对应于当前传送的或计划要传送的节目内容的存储内容相关联的元数据产生关系信息，并且
所述处理逻辑判断哪些高级选项可用并组织关系信息以支持这些高级选项，
其中，所述关系信息被输出以呈现至少一个高级选项图标，所述高级选项图标适于提供增强的观看功能，
其中，所述处理逻辑产生和输出所述关系信息，用于呈现所述至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于将内容源由从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容改变为对应于所述节目内容的基于网络的内容，以便替代从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容而显示所述基于网络的内容。
2.根据权利要求1所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑向包括显示器的电子设备传送所述关系信息。
3.根据权利要求2所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑接收对于所述电子设备的地理区域的电子节目指南(EPG)数据，所述地理区域由向所述电子设备分配的寻址信息确定。
4.根据权利要求2所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑向所述电子设备传送所述关系信息，所述电子设备是电视机。
5.根据权利要求1所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑控制所述内容源的改变，从显示所述节目内容基本上无缝地过渡到显示所述基于网络的内容。
6.根据权利要求1所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑产生和输出所述关系信息，用于呈现所述至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于使与所述系统通信的电子设备列出当前显示的所述节目内容的全部先前广播的集。
7.根据权利要求1所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑产生和输出所述关系信息，用于呈现所述至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于当被显示的所述节目内容是多季节目时，使与所述系统通信的电子设备列出与多季节目的不同季相关联的全部集。
8.根据权利要求1所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑产生和输出所述关系信息，用于呈现所述至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于使与所述系统通信的电子设备展示指向与所述节目内容相关联的商品或服务的广告图标。
9.根据权利要求1所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑产生和输出所述关系信息，用于呈现所述至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于改变内容源，以便代替在停止所述节目内容回放的位置的所述节目内容，显示基于网络的内容。
10.根据权利要求1所述的元数据聚集系统，其中，所述处理逻辑产生和输出所述关系信息，用于呈现所述至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于使与所述系统通信的电子设备以比先前显示为所述节目内容一部分更长的格式展示广告图标。
11.一种元数据聚集方法，包括：
识别由从实况内容广播公司接收节目内容的电子设备当前正传送或计划要显示什么节目内容；
执行对具有与所述节目内容相关联的存储内容的网络内容提供商的查找；
向网络内容提供商发送包括过滤参数的元数据请求消息，以进而接收与计划要从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容相关联的元数据；以及
从所述元数据产生关系信息；并且
判断哪些高级选项可用并组织关系信息以支持这些高级选项，
其中，所述关系信息被输出以呈现至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于提供增强的观看功能，
其中，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于将内容源由从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容改变为对应于所述节目内容的基于网络的内容，以便替代从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容而显示所述基于网络的内容。
12.根据权利要求11所述的元数据聚集方法，其中，识别由所述实况内容广播公司当前正传送或计划要传送什么节目内容包括分析对于所述电子设备的地理区域的收到的电子节目指南(EPG)数据，所述地理区域由向所述电子设备分配的寻址信息确定。
13.根据权利要求11所述的元数据聚集方法，其中，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于使所述电子设备列出与所述节目内容相关联的、由网络内容提供商存储的信息。
14.一种与元数据聚集系统通信的电子设备，所述元数据聚集系统借助于过滤参数限制性地获得与存储内容相关联的元数据，所述存储内容与计划要从实况内容提供商广播的节目内容有关，所述电子设备包括：
显示屏；以及
处理进入内容用于在显示屏上显示的处理逻辑，
所述处理逻辑执行对具有与节目内容相关联的存储内容的网络内容提供商的查找，
所述处理逻辑向网络内容提供商发送包括过滤参数的元数据请求消息，以进而接收与计划要从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容相关联的元数据，
所述处理逻辑从与对应于当前传送的或计划要传送的节目内容的存储内容相关联的元数据产生关系信息，并且
所述处理逻辑判断哪些高级选项可用并组织关系信息以支持这些高级选项，
其中，所述关系信息被输出以呈现至少一个高级选项图标，所述高级选项图标适于提供增强的观看功能，
其中，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于将内容源由从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容改变为对应于所述节目内容的基于网络的内容，以便替代从实况内容广播公司广播的节目内容而显示所述基于网络的内容。
15.根据权利要求14所述的电子设备，其中，所述处理逻辑呈现所述至少一个高级选项图标，所述至少一个高级选项图标适于列出与所述节目内容相关联的、由网络内容提供商存储的信息。
