如上面一些专利所公开的那样,在这些专利中提出的扫描系统的实施例,除其它的以外,都是一种由使用者握持使用的手持式便携阅读头。这种阅读头允许使用者将其,具体地说是将从中发出的光束或激光束对准目标物或将要阅读的符号。
激光扫描器中的光源一般为气体激光器或半导体激光器。使用半导体激光器,例如激光二极管,在扫描系系统中作为光源是特别理想的。因为它们尺寸小,制作成本低而且工作功率小。激光束经光学调整,一般是通过一个透镜,在要求的距离内形成一个一定大小的光点。最好是光点在该距离内的尺寸与不同反射率部分之间的区域,即符号中的条带与间隔的最小宽度相等。
条码符号中的条带或元素一般为不同宽度的矩形条。根据编码标准及“符号学”的定义及规则,各元素之间的一个特定组合定义了一个所需表示的特征值。不同类型的编码规则决定了条带与间隔之间的相对大小。条码符号的密度定义为每英寸内条码所带的特征值的数量。为了编出一个满意的特征值的顺序,多个元素组合连在一起构成一个条码符号,其中每一个特征值由其自身对 应的元素组表示。在一些符号学中,独特的“开始”和“结束”特征用于表示条码的开始和结束。这些编码学包括:UPC/EAN,编码标准39(code    39);编码标准标准128(code    128);条码标准(codabar)及Interleaved    2    of    5。
为了讨论方便,这里将能够被符号学识别并定义的特征值称为合法特征值,而将不能被符号学识别并定义的特征值称为非法特征值。故此,不能由给定的符号学译出的元素排列对该符号学相说,表示着一非法特征值。
为了提高给定表面尺寸内所能表示或存贮的信息量,出现了一些新的条码符号学。在这些新的符号学中,编码标准49(code    49)中引入了一种“二维”的概念,即将特征行垂直排放而非水平排放。这样,就出现了多排条空排列而非一排。这种属于编码标准49的结构公开于美国专利号为4,794,239中,这里引用仅作为参考技术。
利用一维单行扫描,如用一般的手持式阅读器进行扫描阅读二维条码存在着许多缺点,即阅读器必须分别对准每一行进行扫描。同样的,全向线扫描阅读器产生一组相互间成一定角度的线。所以这种扫描器也不适合于识别编码标准49类型的二维符号。
而且,维尔斯的专利号为4,902,083的美国专利公开了一种用于小型光学显示装置中的低振动共振扫描单元。在该装置中,扫描单元使用了一种称之为音叉的设计。在音叉的一个臂上装有扫描镜,而在其另一臂上则装有平衡质量块。尽管这一设置为摆动的扫描镜提供了格栅式显示,但这种结构事实上相当复杂而且需要许多部件才能进行扫描操作。
在本领域已知的扫描系统中,光束由透镜或类似的光学部件导引经一条光路射向表面上带有一条码符号的目标物。这种扫描通过反复将光线以多行或一行线的方式扫过符号进行。扫描部件一般配合一个电动驱动装置或电动扫描装置将光点扫过符号并且沿一条扫描线以高速扫描的方式重复扫过该符号,或者扫过扫描器的视野,或者上述二者同时进行。
扫描系统中一般带有传感器或光检测器以用于检测从符号上反射回来的光。这种光检测器因此位于扫描器中或一条光路中并且其视野跨越并略微超过整个符号。从符号反射回的反射光的一部分被检测出并且转换成电信号。然后由电子线路或者软件将该电信号译成扫过符号所表示信息的数字表达式。例如,来自光检测器的模拟电子信号一般可被转换成一个脉宽调制数字信号并且其宽度与条带或间隔的物理宽度相对应。这样一个信号然后根据一定的符号学解码成符号所表示的编码信息的二进制数字表达式,然后再转换为其表示的字母数字特征值。
已知扫描系统中的解码程序一般以下列方式工作:解码器从扫描器中接收到脉宽调制数字信号后,软件中的一个算法程序进行解码,如果起、止特征符及起、止特征符之间的特征符被全部而且连续解码,则解码程序终止而且向使用者显示一个成功阅读符号的指示(例如一个绿灯或一个可听到的嘟嘟声)。否则解码器则接受下一次的扫描结果,进行再一次解码努力,这样持续下去,直到得到一个完全解码的扫描结果或扫描终止。
激光扫描器不是唯一一种能够阅读条码符号的光学仪器。带有以电荷耦合部件(CCD)为基础的检测器 的条码阅读器为另一种类型的激光扫描器。这种阅读器中,检测器的尺寸大于或实质上等于将要阅读的符号的大小。整个符号由来自阅读器的光线扫过,而且每一个电荷耦合部件随之读出每一个条带或间隔。这种阅读器一般重量较轻而且使用方便,但需要直接将阅读器接触或放在符号上以确保符号得以正确阅读。这种阅读器与符号的物理性接触对于一些应用场合是较好的操作方式。
尽管公开于美国专利文献5,015,833和美国专利申请520,464的图2中的扫描机构因其与光学部件模块式地安装在一个支持板的表面上,例如一块印刷电路板上,而相对于现有技术具有明显的进步,但是本发明又提出一种上述机构的改进机构,在该改进机构中,安装在一块印刷电路板上的扫描电动装置及扫描机构,因为其中的各种部件基本为注塑材料构成,并且由于聚酯片簧的应用,它们的结构是相对简单的。聚酯片簧定位一个大致上为平面的扫描部件或扫描镜,而扫描镜可由一个阅读开始启动部件带动来回摆动。该阅读开始启动部件与一个永久磁性体配合而且该磁性体安装在用于支持扫描镜的支持机构的一个臂上。片簧由聚酯构成,这种材料使片簧具有较大的强度及柔韧性,以用来使扫描机构在要求的效率下工作。另外,本发明的机构中扫描机构中的部件基本上使用注塑材料而仅片簧使用聚酯材料,故整个机构具有制作成本低、工作效率高、易于安装到扫描装置中的一块印刷电路板上、抗冲击及损伤和使用中部件更换容易的优点。
片簧使用聚酯而非金属的原因在于聚酯具有很低的弹性系数,可允许相对低的共振频率而不必制作的不切实际的薄。而且在组装时,聚酯材料比金属更能承受意 外的损伤,在出现掉落或撞击时,聚酯比金属更易变形但不会出现永久变形。
根据本发明,扫描机构中带有一个必须的所谓聚酯片簧并被安装在一块印刷电路板上。该印刷电路板还支持着光学系统及光线或激光束的发生装置。安装在扫描机构上的托架形式的支持机构上具有向外延伸的、基本上具有弹性的挠性臂。在该支持机构中,支持在一个固定在印刷电路板的下表面上的轴座上的可转柱件上装有一个扫描镜。另外,一个永久磁性体固定在一个外伸臂件的最外端而该外伸臂件的另一端固定在可转动柱件上。聚酯构成的片簧的中部固定在该柱件上,而片簧的两个相对应的远端固定在上述固定在扫描机构上的弹性或挠性臂的自由端上。一个电启动电磁线圈用于交替吸引和推开所述的永久磁性体以向外伸臂件输出一个摆动运动,并且最终将该运动传递给支持着扫描镜的直立柱件上。由磁性体和加电线圈引起的摆动由聚酯弹簧进行均衡,其中带电线圈构成阅读开始启动装置而聚酯弹簧使扫描镜产生摆动。结果是,扫描镜在两个预定的端位置之间运动而且趋于返回到两个端位置之间的中心位置。
聚酯簧片工作在其自身的频率下,该频率取决于弹簧的刚度及运动部件(包含扫描镜、磁性体、外伸臂件等)的惯性。一个驱动电路用于使其自身与该自然频率同步。该电路同时通过监视线圈第二绕组中产生的电压控制扫描角度。驱动电流自动调整以保持一个预定的扫描角度。
因此,本发明的目的在于提供一种位于上述描述的扫描装置中、带有新型扫描电动装置的扫描机构。在该扫描装置中,扫描机构的部件模块式地安装于一个支持 机构上。
本发明的更具体的目的在于提供一种安装于体积较小重量较轻的扫描装置中的扫描机构。在该扫描装置中一个作用于扫描部件的阅读开始启动部分模块式地安装于扫描装置壳体内部的一块印刷电路板上,以确实抵御施加在其上的外来冲击或撞击。
另外,本发明的另一目的在于通过将其安装于可弯曲的臂上并通过转动柱件附近的止动物限制其运动,保护扫描电动机构免受冲击。
而且,本发明的再一目的在于提出应用根据本发明的新型扫描装置的一种方法。
本发明提出这样一种用于阅读符号的扫描装置,该符号具有多个带不同反射率的部分,扫描装置通过导引一束光射向该符号并将从符号上反射回来的光束收集起来而读出该符号所带有的信息;该扫描装置包含:
(a)一印刷电路板,该电路板固定定位于所述装置中;
(b)光线发生装置及光学装置,所述二装置用于产生并导引一束聚焦的光线;
(c)一扫描机构,该机构安装在所述电路板上并且与所述光线发生装置及光学装置相隔一段距离;所述扫描机构包含有一用于安装扫描部件并使之作摆动运动的装置;一固定在所述电路板上的直立支持件,所述支持件具有一个中部,该中部使所述扫描部件安装装置与所述支持件相连接;扫描电动装置可操作地与所述扫描部件安装装置相连,以将所产生的摆动运动传递给所述的扫描部件;所述支持件的两个相对端上分别具有外伸的弯臂;一个能弹性变形的挠性片簧延伸在上述两个弯 臂和所述将扫描电动装置及所述扫描部件连接的装置之间;所述扫描电动装置一般用于施力使所述扫描部件预置到一个相对于两摆动端位置的中心位置,所述片簧提供一抵抗上述预置力的恢复力;
而且,所述片簧由聚酯构成,而所述扫描机构中的其它部件由注塑材料构成;
而且,所述弯臂的自由端具有夹紧装置,用于与靠接于此的所述片簧的端部紧密配合;
而且,所述弯臂是挠性的;
而且,所述弯臂与所述支持件为一体模注成型的整体结构;
而且,位于所述弯臂及所述支持件接合处的固紧装置将上述整体结构固定到所述电路板上;
而且,所述支持件上具有一个垂直的中心柱部分,该中心柱部分的一端向下延伸并穿过所述电路板上的一个孔;一轴座沿所述电路板的下表面延伸,并且与所述中心柱部分的下端相配合;
而且,所述扫描电动装置包含一个永久性磁性体和一个电磁线圈;所述磁性体安装在一个与所述扫描部件安装装置相连接的可摆动外伸臂件上;所述电磁线圈位于所述电路板上,并且交替吸引和推开所述磁性体以摆动所述臂件,并最终摆动所述扫描部件;
而且,所述片簧的中心固定在所述随所述永久磁性体摆动的装置上;
而且,所述扫描部件安装装置连接在所述中心柱部分上以使该安装装置作一定角度的摆动运动;
而且,所述扫描装置包含一平间扫描镜;
而且,所述弯臂是弯曲的,其最远端相向延伸,而 且,所述片簧弯折成一定角度并在其弯折部分之间形成一个角度。
本发明还提出一种用于阅读符号的扫描方法,该符号具有多个具有不同反射率的部分,通过导引一束光射向该符号并将从该符号上反射回来的、进入一扫描装置中部的光线收集起来而读出该符号所带有的信息;该扫描方法包含:
(a)固定定位一印刷电路板于所述装置内;
(b)安装光线发生装置及光学装置于电路板上,所述二装置用于产生并导引一束聚焦的光线;
(c)将一扫描机构安装在所述电路上并且与所述光线发生装置及光学装置相隔一段距离;所述扫描机构包含有用于安装一个扫描部件并使之作摆动运动的装置;将一直立支持件固定于所述电路板上,所述支持件具有一个中部,该中部使所述扫描部件安装装置与所述支持件相连接;将一扫描电动装置可操作地与所述扫描部件安装装置相连接,以将所述的摆动运动传递给所述扫描部件;所述支持件的两相对端上分别具有外伸的弯臂;将一能弹性变形的挠性弹簧定位延伸在上述两弯臂及所述将所述扫描电动装置及所述扫描部件连接的装置之间;所述扫描电动装置一般用于施力使所述扫描部件预置到一个相对于两摆动端位置的中心位置,所述片簧提供一抵抗上述预置力的恢复力;

请参照附图,特别是附图1-3,本发明涉及一种激光扫描装置,该装置可以很容易地应用于符号的阅读、扫描和/或分析,例如条码符号及其它符号的扫描和分析。
参看图1,该图示出了本发明的一个实施例,该实施例为一个大致手持式的阅读头10。该阅读头10包含一个为枪形的外壳。该枪形外壳包含一个基本上沿其 手柄轴延伸的、截面为矩形的手柄部12及一个大致上在水平方向延伸的筒形部或本体部11。手柄部12的截面尺寸及总体大小应设计成与使用者的手相适应并使使用者能方便地握持。本体部11和手柄部12用轻质、有弹性、抗冲击、可成形的材料构成。塑料外壳可以是模注成型的、真空成形或者是吹塑成形的,以形成一个具有内部空间的薄空心壳。所形成的内部空间的体积小于50立方英寸,在其它应用中,还可以为25立方英寸或者更小些。上述具体数值并非是对本发明自身的限制,仅是为了提供一个对于阅读头10的体积及外形最大尺寸的大致估算。由外壳部12a、12b构成部分外壳,该两部分沿一个大致上垂直的对合线12c对合。
如图2所示,考虑到可能的使用位置,本体部11上具有一个前突区或前突部,该前突部具有一个前倾壁11a。本体部11上还有一个后区或后部,该后区具有一个后壁。该后壁位于后部并与前倾壁11a相距一段距离。本体部11还具有一个顶壁11c及一对位于前后壁之间的相对侧壁11e、11f。前倾壁11a相对于顶壁及底壁是倾斜的。
手控扳机13朝前安装在手柄部和本体部的交汇处、使用者在握持式手柄部进行工作时的食指停放位置。该板机可相对于阅读头转动,并且最好是按压式的。
视窗14固定安装在前突部并且是透光的,以使激光从阅读头10的内部射到其外部。
一挠性、轻便、螺旋形导线15多向可动地以本领域公知的方式将阅读头10与激光扫描系统的其它部件,例如解码模块和主机,相连通。
在阅读头10内安装有多个部件,如下面将要描述 的那样,它们中至少有一部分是直接或者间接地由扳机13启动的。其中一个位于阅读头中的部件可为可控激光光源(参看图3)例如一个由扳机13启动后工作的半导体激光二极管。该可控激光光源产生并且传输出一个相应的激光光束,并且该光束的亮度,如上所述应为至少对于人眼来说是基本可见的。该从激光二极管发射出的光束是高度发散的,其发散程度在平行和垂直于光束的纵向传播方向的不同平面上是不同的。而且该光束是非径向对称的,即垂变的;其光束的横截面形状类似一个椭圆。该二极管可以是被连续波驱动的,也可以是被脉冲波驱动的、其所要求的一个低电压(例如直流12伏或更小)可以由安装在阅读头内的电压调节器和一个电池电源(直流)供给,也可以由可折卸地装在阅读头上的多次充电式电池组附件供给,还可以通过连接在阅读头上的导线15从一个外部电源(直流电源)引入供给。能发出不同波长光束或激光的二极管也在本发明的保护范围之内。
尽管在图1和2中所示的实施例为手持式的,但是本发明也可以作成固定台式,桌面式或其它形状。
参看图3所示截面图,光学组件30装在扫描装置中的印刷电路板20上,并且是可调地相对于电路板定位,以从光学角度修正并导引射出的光线或激光光束沿一个特定光路射向一个位于扫描装置外的参考面。需要阅读的符号既可以设置在该参考面附近,在该参考面上,又可以位于参考面的一侧或者另一侧。总的来说,应该是位于所使用的、经修正的激光光束所达区域的长度范围内的任意位置以及相对于激光扫描装置所能够达到的工作范围内。藉此,从符号上反射回来的光线或激光光 束在一个方向上可以认为是定向反射光线,而在其它许多方向上可以认为是散射光。并且散射的激光光束中沿第二光路返回扫描装置的部分称为返回光部分,这一部分用于提供符号上所带有的信息。
如图3所示,光学组件30可以与在美国专利5,015,833中公开的光学组件相同或者类似,这一专利已转让给本申请的受让人,并且引用于此作为现有技术。所以,除了大致内容外,这里并没有认为有必要重述这一光学组件的所有情况及其细节。但是,正如本领域所众所周知的那样,该光学组件包含一个调焦透镜,该调焦透镜可以是平凹透镜,并且与一个小孔配合使发射出的激光光束或光线聚焦在一个参照面上。用于调整透镜和其它构件的适当弹簧可以用于组装在光学组件中。该光学组件包含一个光源,例如激光二极管,以产生投射到扫描机构36上的所需光线。根据本发明的扫描机构36将在下文中描述。
参看图4和5,该图等详细地示出了扫描装置中组合在一起的扫描机构。扫描机构36包含一个直立支持件40,如图6和7所示。该支持件40的中间部分为带有L型弯臂44、46的托架42。弯臂44、46从托架42的两侧伸出并且分别相对弯曲一个锐角α。大致为矩形的托架42由紧固件(未示)固定在印刷电路板20上。该紧固件穿过形成在托架端部的通孔47并且与轴座60上的螺纹孔58配合。托架42还包含有一个带孔的中部48,该中部48可转动地支持着柱件50。柱件50具有一个穿过印刷电路板的下部,该下部定位在延伸于电路板20下表面的轴座60中(图5、图8、图9)。如图10A、10B、13所示, 柱件50与一个托件52相连接。一个适当的扫描部件54,例如一个平面扫描镜,由紧固件固定在该托件52上以使该扫描部件能绕与柱件的轴同轴的y轴摆动。如图11、12所示,外伸臂件70可固定在柱件50上且在该外伸臂件70上具有装在其最远外伸端74上的磁性体72。磁性体72由于可以进出位于电磁线圈76中的一个小孔,故可被固定在印刷电路板20上的加电电磁线圈76交替拉入或推出线圈的内部,籍此使外伸臂件70和柱件5来回摆动,并使扫描部件54来回摆动。
如图6所示,为了使扫描镜54适当定位并且为了使扫描镜54能确实回到或受力回到其中心位置,托架42的弯臂44和46上具有夹紧部件,该夹紧部件可以是截面形状为半圆的柱状凸出60和62。该凸出60和62上分别具有插榫64,用于和与其套在一起的、相应的夹紧套件66和68配合。如图14所示,片簧80由一聚酯片构成,延伸穿过柱件50的凹槽部51并与带有磁性体的外伸臂件70相配合。片簧80的中心部具有孔82,用于与从外伸臂件上伸出的紧固件或插榫配合,以使片簧80被固定到支持着扫描镜54的可转动的柱件50上。而片簧80的相对端84、86上分别具有孔88和90,用于分别配合在延伸于半圆柱形夹紧件60、62和62、68之间的插榫64上,并且被固定装设在夹紧件之间。这样,片簧80弯成两个部分,并被定位在托架42上,其两部分分别从片簧在柱件50上的固定处延伸到其端部84和86,弯折部分的夹角可以为直角即90°。对于由于施加到磁性体上的电磁作用而使扫描镜所产生的摆动,上述结构提 供了一种均衡这种摆动的弹性预置力,因此使扫描镜可以在其两个端位置之间摆动。事实上,扫描装置在工作时,每当一个电脉冲施加到线圈上,磁性体就会被拉入线圈的中心或者腔中,籍此,使所有的可摆动部件受到拉动,同时,片簧弯曲。如图4所示,片簧的两个部分均为大致上直的,一但由于磁性体72摆动而出现位移,片簧80的每一部分都会弯曲并因此储存了能量。一旦磁性体72被释放,片簧的每一部随之释放出能量,使磁性体及扫描镜向其中心位置移动并越过该位置,使整个组件在有阻尼的方式下摆动。因此,这种特定的结构确保了扫描镜在两个端位置间可控制地摆动,以使其均匀地进行扫描以阅读目标上的信息。
除了片簧80可以由聚酯构成以外,上述扫描机构36中的其余部件,除了扫描镜,均可由注塑材料制成。例如聚碳酸酯及类似材料。通过整体式地将整个扫描装置安装在印刷电路板20上这一简单的结构,可以有效地保护住扫描机构,使其能承受住在使用中因掉落或者粗暴使用而产生的冲击和撞击,同时这种结构使其安装使用简单方便。
从上面所述可以看出,对于本领域的技术人员来说,本发明所提出的扫描装置清晰地带有根本没有公开及非显而易见的技术特征。
尽管上文是作为对本发明最佳实施例的描述,但应该注意的是,在不脱离本发明的实质内容的前提下对具体细节进行修改,对本领域的技术人员来说是很容易的。因此,本发明并不局限于上面的具体描述。

Claims (12)

1、一种用于阅读符号的扫描装置,该符号具有多个带不同反射率的部分,扫描装置通过导引一束光射向该符号并将从符号上反射回来的光束收集起来而读出该符号所带有的信息,该扫描装置包含:
(a)一印刷电路板,该电路板固定定位于所述装置中;
(b)光线发生装置及光学装置,所述二装置用于产生并导引一束聚焦的光线;
(c)一扫描机构,该机构安装在所述电路板上并且与所述光线发生装置及光学装置相隔一段距离;所述扫描机构包含有一用于安装扫描部件并使之作摆动运动的装置;其特征在于,所述扫描机构还包含有:
一固定在所述电路板上的直立支持件,所述支持件具有一个中部,该中部使所述扫描部件安装装置与所述支持件相连接;扫描电动装置可操作地与所述扫描部件安装装置相连,以将所产生的摆动运动传递给所述的扫描部件;所述支持件的两个相对端上分别具有外伸的弯臂;一个能弹性变形的挠性片簧延伸在上述两个弯臂和所述将扫描电动装置及所述扫描部件连接的装置之间;所述扫描电动装置一般用于施力使所述扫描部件预置到一个相对于两摆动端位置的中心位置,所述片簧提供一抵抗上述预置力的恢复力。
2、如权利要求1所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,所述片簧由聚酯构成,而所述扫描机构中的其它部件由注塑材料构成。
3、如权利要求1所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,所述弯臂的自由端具有夹紧装置,用于与靠接于此的所述片簧的端部紧密配合。
4、如权利要求1所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,所述弯臂是挠性的。
5、如权利要求4所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,所述弯臂与所述支持件为一体模注成型的整体结构。
6、如权利要求4所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,位于所述弯臂及所述支持件接合处的固紧装置将上述整体结构固定到所述电路板上。
7、如权利要求6所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,所述支持件上具有一个垂直的中心柱部分,该中心柱部分的一端向下延伸并穿过所述电路板上的一个孔;一轴座沿所述电路板的下表面延伸,并且与所述中心柱部分的下端相配合。
8、如权利要求1所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,所述扫描电动装置包含一个永久性磁性体和一个电磁线圈;所述磁性体安装在一个与所述扫描部件安装装置相连接的可摆动外伸臂件上;所述电磁线圈位于所述电路板上,并且交替吸引和推开所述磁性体以摆动所述臂件,并最终摆动所述扫描部件。
9、如权利要求8所述的扫描装置,其特征在于,所述片簧的中心固定在所述随所述永久磁性体摆动的装置上。
