技术领域
本发明涉及香味与香气管理领域。这可以包括但不限于用于告知使用者香料分配器中的含量已经耗尽或即将很快耗尽的方法及设备。
背景技术
用于在一个时间段内向一个区域提供香料的许多装置已为人知。一般地,这些装置是通过将包含于装置内的香料从装置扩散到空气中来工作的。例如可以通过加热香料、通过将香料包括在挥发性载体中、或通过其组合来加强香料的扩散。香料的扩散及其总体强度是受其平衡汽压控制的。具有高平衡汽压的香料具有高的挥发性且很快蒸发。
香料装置的使用寿命受限于能够从装置中分配出的香料量。在装置的香料供应用完之后,要么替换装置整体,要么替换香料。例如,后者可以通过替换香料装置中的可移动盒(cartridge)来实现。
不幸的是,确定什么时候必须替换香料是一项费劲的工作,当大量的香料装置同时使用时尤其如此,比如在办公楼或其它大型建筑中。视觉观察香料量可能会不准确或者不可能。定时替换香料可能会浪费或者无效,因为香料不会是随时间并在整个建筑内而等速率耗尽。这可能造成香料的浪费或者一段时间内没有香料。大气状况的不同或要充满香料的区域的大小可能会引起变化的耗尽。
对于香料装置的使用者来说,在香料装置用完其香料供应时接收到告知是有用的。对于香料装置的使用者来说,在装置内的剩余香料量达到预定水平时接收到警告也是有用的。
发明内容
在一个方面,本发明包括向装置使用者提供信号的香料分配装置。该信号可以指示例如装置内的香料已经用完。该信号可以指示装置内的香料量已经达到或者低于预定量。单个装置可以提供一个以上的信号以便可以不断地评估装置内的香料状态。这可以包括当香料量已经减少或者已完全用完时提供信号。
在一个实施例中,香料被容纳于一个载体中,该载体可以例如是聚合物。该聚合物可以是例如乙烯基醋酸乙烯酯(Ethylene VinylAcetate)。当香料耗尽时,该聚合物将收缩。在聚合物收缩到一定程度之后,激发(触发,actuate)一个信号来指示装置内的香料量已经减少到预定量或者已经全部耗尽。当香料持续被耗尽及聚合物持续收缩时将激发额外的信号。信号可以是例如无线电信号、蓝牙信号、电信号、无线保真(wi-fi)信号、光、声音、开关或任何其它指示信号或其组合。在一些实施例中,信号可以不断地更新以给出对剩余的香料量的实时评估。
在另一个实施例中,提供了用于管理多个香料分配器中的香料量的系统,包括:提供根据本发明的多个香料分配器;给每个香料分配器指定一个可与信号一起传输的单独的标识值;为每一个香料分配器保持标识值数据库;提供检测器,其中检测器接收来自香料分配器的信号;使用计算机,将与信号一起传输的标识值与数据库中的标识值相关联;显示相关性结果,因此显示传输所述信号的香料装置的至少一个标识以及所述香料装置中的香料量,因此提供有关哪些香料分配器需要追加香料的信息;以及通过向所述需要追加香料的香料分配器提供追加的香料来管理所述香料量。

本发明涉及用于告知使用者香料分配装置(以下称“分配器”)中的含量已经耗尽或即将很快耗尽的方法和装置。现在,将参照附图对本发明的特征、方面和实施例进行讨论。
图1示出了根据本发明的一个实施例的分配器的剖面图。在该实施例中,装置包括壳体1,它包括风箱3、香料垫5、开关7、执行机构(致动器,actuator)9、电源11以及信号13。

香料垫不限于任何特定的尺寸或者形状。垫的形状可以是例如盘状(中心有孔或无孔)、圆枕(torus)、矩形,环状或其它形状。垫可能包含中心槽。当然,垫也将具有厚度,不要求沿着垫的长度方向的厚度是均匀的。典型地,当香料释放时,垫在各个尺度上收缩,允许多种方式来激励指示器。比如,盘状或者圆枕可被配置为具有传感器,当内径增大以及外径减小时,传感器同时挤压。
在另一实施例中,将垫替换为允许例如红外信号或可见光信号的信号传输的透明或者半透明容器。在该实施例中,香料作为容器内的液体来提供。在液体量减少到预定水平时,信号能够穿越容器到达位于容器的相对面上的传感器,激发信号。
一般地,通过使用溶剂使得本发明的聚合物/香料混合物的准备变得便利。适合在本发明中使用的溶剂包括但不限于异构烷烃溶剂(Isopar M)、己二酸二异丙酯、肉豆蔻酸异丙酯、苯甲酸苄酯、丙二醇及本领域的技术人员受益于本公开而悟知的其它溶剂。
本领域的技术人员会认识到,本发明的实施例中包括的香料垫的组成不限于包括香料、聚合物及溶剂。可以包含各种添加剂来增加混合物的性质或增强已有的性质。例如,混合物可以包含染料、色素、提高香料吸收/扩散的物质、帮助其保持其形状或帮助其形成形状或帮助其随香料释放而均匀地减小尺寸的物质。本领域的技术人员会知道适用于本发明的挤压模具添加剂及注射模具添加剂。
香料油被吸收到聚合物中。该聚合物以控制的速率缓慢地释放香料并释放大多数香料。随着聚合物释放香料,香料垫收缩。在如图2及图3详图所示的本发明的一个实施例中,香料垫位于盘子中,当香料耗尽时该盘子滑动。
当香料垫收缩至低于预定尺寸时,执行机构9激发信号13。在图1所示的实施例中,执行机构是随香料垫收缩而缓慢移动、最后完成回路的弹簧支撑臂。在图1的实施例中,信号是发光二极管(LED)。在本发明的其它实施例中,执行机构是按钮,该按钮在香料垫收缩到预定尺寸之前是按下的。如图4所示,执行机构也可以是在香料垫收缩到低于预定尺寸之后允许指示的红外信号。红外执行机构在香料容纳在液体载体中、其水平随香料量的减少而降低的实施例中尤其有用。执行机构也可以是允许随着聚合物量的减少而扩张的线性或环形的拉紧弹簧。
分配器可以包括一个以上的执行机构,这允许它生成一个以上的信号。比如,在香料量减少至低于初始量的一半时,这允许分配器产生信号,之后在香料耗尽时再次产生信号。例如图4示出了多个红外执行机构。
分配器可以包括持续不断地确定分配器中剩余的香料量的传感器。该信息(例如作为聚合物垫香料载体的收缩尺寸的函数而获得)可以不断地或者间隔地中继
信号可以是多种形式。它可以是可见的,比如光或者彩色标签。它可以是声音信号,比如蜂鸣声或嘟嘟声。它可以是通过无线保真、蓝牙、无线电或其它电磁形式发送至远处的信号。该信号可以被发送到允许协调香料的替换的、诸如计算机的中央处理装置。该信号可以由维修技术员携带的手持装置来感测。当执行机构啮合时,单个分配器可以发射一个以上的信号。比如,当香料量减少至预定水平时,可能产生音频信号和视频信号。视频信号(诸如LED信号等)可以被配置为当香料处于某一水平时持续发光、随后在香料量减少至更低的水平时闪光。
所附表1示出了包含40%香料及60%乙烯基醋酸乙烯酯的香料垫的收缩的例子。这表明当香料释放时,EVA聚合物以均匀的方式收缩,允许传感器被激励。
Claims (4)
1.一种用于告知使用者香料分配器中的香料量已经达到预定水平的方法,包括:
a)提供香料分配器,所述香料分配器包括:
香料,其中所述香料被注入到乙烯/醋酸乙烯酯共聚物(EVA)载体中;和
信号,用于显示与所述香料的量相关的信息;以及
b)在所述信息被显示之前,从所述香料分配器中分配香料,其中所述信息的显示告知使用者所述分配器中的香料量,
其中所述载体的尺寸随着所述香料从所述分配器中释放而减小,其中当所述载体的至少一个物理尺度低于预定值时显示所述信息。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述信号是彩色标签、蓝牙信号、电信号、无线保真信号、光、声音、开关及其组合。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中所述信号是彩色标签。
4.一种香料分配器,包括:
a)香料,其中所述香料被注入到聚合物载体内,所述聚合物载体为乙烯基醋酸乙烯酯;
b)信号,用于显示与所述香料的量相关的信息,其中所述信号是彩色标签,
其中所述载体的尺寸随着所述香料从所述分配器中释放而减小,其中当所述载体的至少一个物理尺度低于预定值时释放所述彩色标签。
