技术领域
本发明涉及可对塑料材料卷实施超声波焊接的超声波焊接装置。如此的超声波焊接装置包括超声波发生器、超声焊极和砧台。一般地,该砧台相对于超声焊极可移动,以使诸如薄膜卷的材料卷容易地移到超声焊极和砧台之间的位置内,然后,超声焊极和砧台将超声波振荡施加到材料卷,与焊接力相叠加,用于实施焊接操作。基本上说,将两个或更多个材料卷焊接在一起的超声波焊接区别于借助于超声波将材料卷割断的超声波切割。
背景技术
举例来说,专用的超声波焊接装置用在管形袋的包装机器中,该包装机器用于密封头部和/或纵向接缝。
相应的材料卷的厚度通常明显地小于0.1mm。因此,工艺参数的变化或材料特性或焊接速度的偏差对焊接结果有很大影响。掌握好这些参数以确保有恒定良好质量的焊接结果,相应地更为重要,薄膜越薄就越重要。
在薄膜的情形中,焊接过程发生在空间上和功能上受很大限制的区域内,由此,工艺温度、焊接力和工具(砧台和超声焊极)相对于彼此的位置,即使有微小变化,也会显著改变焊接结果。
现有技术中公知有各种装置和操作程序以管理相关的工艺参数和由此的焊接过程。
一种可能的选项是保持焊接间隙的尺寸恒定。焊接间隙的尺寸特别受过程中涉及的零部件热膨胀的影响。超声波发生器内的功率损失、振荡部分内的阻尼损失以及过程本身内的摩擦,都会产生热量。为了使焊接间隙保持恒定,通常采用两种不同的方法。第一种方法是将发生器的输出功率调节到恒定值。这确保输入到系统内的热量也恒定不变,由此,在稳定一段时间后,就会出现恒定的过程工况。另一种可能的选项是直接检测砧台相对于超声焊极的间隙,并将其调整到恒定值。
在该方面,特别使用压电致动构件来设定焊接间隙。
实现恒定过程工况的另一可能的方法是使焊接力保持恒定。实施这一点的可能方式是检测焊接力,并借助于合适的致动构件将力调整到恒定值。
这些解决方案的共同之处在于,它们使用了需要昂贵的测量技术、复杂和精密的致动构件的调节系统,还使用了包括调节的电子装置的设计复杂和昂贵的调节系统。这样形成的调节电路诚然使工艺的控制成为可能,但电路对于超声波焊接装置的可操作性、可用性和复杂性具有不利的影响。
彼此接合的薄膜常常用在管形袋的包装机中。为了增加薄膜卷长度,多个薄膜可彼此固定在一起。为此,相邻的薄膜卷,一个抵靠另一个地放置成稍微重叠的关系,重叠的部位设置有粘结带,以使两个薄膜卷保持在一起。该接合连接可发生在薄膜卷内,因为薄膜制造商已经将多个卷连接在一起,但也可在变换薄膜卷的操作中手工地形成。当如此的接合连接通过超声焊极和砧台之间的间隙时,材料卷的厚度暂时突然增加到两倍。材料卷厚度的如此突然变化,对于已知结构来说,只能困难地进行操作。
发明内容
因此,本发明的目的是提供一种超声波焊接装置,其非常快地对材料厚度及要被焊接的材料的材料特性变化作出反应。
该目的由用来焊接诸如薄膜的材料卷的超声波焊接装置来达到,该焊接装置具有带砧台焊接表面的砧台以及具有超声焊极焊接表面的超声焊极,其中,砧台安装成相对于超声焊极可移动,并且设置有平衡力发生器,如果砧台移出离开超声焊极的参考位置,发生器则沿超声焊极方向将平衡力施加在砧台上。
这样,如果超声焊极施加到材料卷上的压力变得太大,砧台就可移离材料卷。如果超声焊极例如在焊接操作过程中膨胀,该膨胀增大了超声焊极焊接表面施加到材料卷上的力。如果力变得很大而不再达到满意的焊接结果,由于砧台的可移动性,材料卷会移离超声焊极。在该情形中,焊接力由平衡力发生器确定。
例如,平衡力发生器可以是弹簧元件,弹簧元件沿着参考位置的方向推压砧台。作为弹簧元件的替代方案,平衡力发生器还可具有气动缸或液压缸。
如果平衡力发生器的平衡力可以调整,则就特别地有利。这样,可对所有要被处理的材料卷调整焊接力。
平衡力的可调性使得焊接力的调整变得可能。在弹簧元件的情形中,平衡力可通过改变弹簧元件的预紧力来进行调整。通过移动弹簧元件的支承点来改变弹簧元件长度,使得弹簧元件的预紧力得到调整,从而调整就成为可能。例如,调整螺杆或调整驱动器可实现该位移,调整驱动器可手工致动,或用例如电动机自动驱动。由于平衡力发生器还可以是气动缸或液压缸,所以,该情形中的焊接力可通过改变缸内压力进行调整,缸内压力在运行时是恒定的。
为了获得尽可能好的焊接结果,不仅需要限制焊接力,而且要确保焊接力不低于给定的最小值。这一点例如可通过平衡力的合适调整来实现。另一方面,特别是在处理非常薄的薄膜时,必须确保砧台焊接表面和超声焊极焊接表面彼此不过度靠近,以防止材料卷断开。
因此,在另一优选实施例中,设置了凸台元件,其布置成限制砧台沿超声焊极方向的移动,这样,砧台焊接表面较佳地保持相对于超声焊极焊接表面的最小间距,该最小间距由凸台元件予以固定,其中,该最小间距特别优选为可调节的。因此,即使平衡力发生器的力进一步增大,凸台元件也可阻止砧台焊接表面沿超声焊极的焊接表面方向进一步移动。这还具有如下的优点:可由平衡力发生器提供的焊接压力可显著地增大,而没有操作中出现的材料卷断开的危险。此外,采用该结构,平衡力发生器产生的平衡力可更加容易地保持基本恒定。
因此,例如,平衡力发生器可进行调整,在砧台处于相对于超声焊极为最小间距时,即,在砧台抵靠凸台元件时,使砧台对凸台元件施加力。如果平衡力发生器包括一个或多个弹簧元件,则焊接力在一定程度上还取决于材料卷的厚度,或还取决于待焊接材料的阻尼和弹性。
作为导向器的弹簧接头借助于其弹簧作用,也可代表平衡力发生器的一部分。为了使焊接力达到合适的调整,弹簧接头与作为可调整平衡力发生器的弹簧元件的弹簧比率必须彼此匹配。这相应地也适用于液压缸或气动缸。使用压缩了预紧距离并在此情形下抵靠在凸台上的长弹簧,可达到与使用具有较高弹簧比率的较短弹簧达到的同样高的焊接力,该较短弹簧只需预紧较短的预紧距离。较长弹簧的优点在于,材料卷厚度的波动和由此引起的预紧效果的变化会致使力的变化更小,这最终导致焊接过程更加均匀。因此,预紧距离有利地至少为砧台允许的最大挠度的两倍。如果气动缸或液压缸经受恒定的压力,且如果该压力代表平衡力的主要部分,则焊接力基本上与材料卷的厚度无关。弹簧的弹簧比率和可移动组件的质量还影响砧台的共振频率。弹簧越硬,则共振频率相应地越高。共振频率显著地低于超声焊极的振荡频率则是有利的。
例如,通过让凸台元件的一部分由螺钉(例如,设定螺钉)来形成,则可获得凸台元件的可调整性。如果该螺钉呈测量螺钉的型式,最好是细螺纹的,使得要求的设定可容易地重新找回,这样的螺钉型式是有利的。其可布置在超声焊极的侧边上和砧台的侧边上。凸台元件的对应部分最好用耐磨材料制成,例如,硬质金属或碳化金属、淬硬的钢或高强度的其它材料。在这一点上,重要地是可调整的凸台放置在静止或移动(跃出)部上。
在另一优选实施例中,超声焊极和砧台固定到底部支架,其中,砧台最好借助于线性导向器可朝向或远离超声焊极移动。这就能够提供超声波焊接模块,该模块可灵活地使用并可应用于最广泛的不同机器中。砧台可相对于超声焊极移动的情形,确保在调整或维护操作中可进入到模块,并且薄膜卷可容易地引入到超声焊极和砧台之间。此外,线性导向器可用来粗调工作点(间隙大小)。工作点的准确设定于是借助平衡力发生器来实现。
同样地,线性导向器既可单独使用,也可与平衡力发生器组合使用,以补偿材料卷所确定的多重结构。在这一点上,有利地是,多重结构被完全的焊接模块补偿,且将非焊接的缺陷减少到最小。
例如,砧台可具有砧台子结构和工作部分,该工作部分借助于接头连接到砧台,且砧台焊接表面布置在该工作部分上,其中,该接头较佳地是固态接头。
如此超声波焊接装置的优点在于,由于砧台结构简单及用弹簧接头进行安装的方式,使得砧台可以具有非常小的质量。这样,尽管弹簧刚度较低,但仍可提高共振频率,对于材料厚度和要被焊接的材料卷特性的变化可快速作出反应。应该认识到,共振频率应显著地低于超声焊极的振荡频率。此外,弹簧接头提供了无游隙的导向器,这允许有高精度的接缝。此外,这有助于过程参数保持恒定。弹簧接头的另一优点在于,它以无摩擦的方式运行,其结果,不会发生滞后效应或粘滑效应。在另一实施例中,弹簧接头呈固态接头的形式。
这样,砧台可通过电蚀制成单件,与其它方案相比,这大大地降低了制造成本。此外,固态接头比多件制成的弹簧接头有更好的特性,例如,用一块弹簧板作为弹簧元件。这特别由材料的均质性和连接部位的摩擦来说明。弹簧连续的移动保证螺纹部分可相对于彼此移动,并要求附加的可靠措施来确保导向的持续精度。
作为替代方案,可移动的砧台结构可布置在非常精确导向的线性单元上。在这一点上,重要的是,要有尽可能精确的长导向单元,且该单元允许非常小的摩擦损失和由此引起的很少的未定义的力的状态。该导向单元可同样地设置有平衡力发生器。此外,用另外可适配的力探测装置可确定相应的焊接力。这是连续地进行的,也就是说,沿相对于所施加的焊接力的力流方向。
在本发明的另一方面,提出了超声波焊接的方法,该方法采用具有上述一个或多个特征的超声波焊接装置。
在特别优选的实施例中,调整凸台元件,使砧台焊接表面和线性导向器焊接表面之间的最小间距小于待要焊接的薄膜厚度,较佳地在要焊接的薄膜厚度的0.25和0.75之间,且最好在要焊接的薄膜厚度的0.4和0.6之间。在该情形中,短语“待要焊接的薄膜厚度”是用来表示待要焊接的材料卷的总厚度。如果例如厚度为0.3mm的薄膜在二重关系中进行焊接,则要被焊接的薄膜厚度为0.6mm。
此外,一优选的实施例提出,调节平衡力发生器,以使砧台对凸台元件施加预设的焊接力。
为了使因加热超声焊极引起的焊接间隙变化减到最小,焊接操作可在第一焊接阶段期间提供比第一焊接阶段之后的第二焊接阶段大的超声波功率。
该措施在第一焊接阶段期间将更多能量引入到系统内。因此在该焊接阶段中,可快速地加热工具。第一焊接阶段具有使工具温度升高到要求的工作温度的时间长度。
焊接工具的温度影响到超声波焊接。通过超声焊极和/或对应的工具与材料卷之间的接触,热能引入到待要处理的材料卷内。超声焊极和/或对应的工具越热,则焊接操作所需的超声波能量相应地越小。
此外,可探测超声焊极的焊接表面的温度,且最好根据超声焊极的焊接表面的温度来选择超声波功率。
可替换地,或与超声波功率调整相组合,则可将超声焊极的温度调节到工作温度。
例如,可在焊接操作之前对超声焊极和/或砧台进行加热。在生产开始时加热避免了先焊接的焊缝出现缺陷,因为此时正确的过程温度还未达到。预热温度有利地对应于焊接过程中最佳的温度。
在另一实施例中,通过改变超声波振荡器的过程参数,例如幅值和/或力,或改变温度控制介质的温度,由此,减小焊接速度、环境温度、材料不规则性或影响温度的其它参数变化的效应,则可使超声焊极温度,和/或超声焊极和超声波发生单元和/或砧台之间的中间部分的温度,保持基本上恒定不变。
这些特殊的措施意味着焊接部位处的温度可受到影响。通过反馈合适的过程参数,例如,来自焊接部位的温度信号、超声波发生单元的功率输出或焊接速度等,就可将特殊的效应纳入到调节电路内,如致动构件内。这样,借助于简单的或尚还复杂的调节电路,由此调节焊接速度、环境温度、材料不规则性或影响温度的其它参数等的变化,由此可使温度保持恒定。
在另一实施例中,凸台元件固定到工作元件,且离开弹簧接头的间距基本上与离砧台焊接表面的间距相同。
这样,凸台元件的杠杆臂和砧台焊接表面的杠杆臂相同,于是,调整距离使得过程间隙的大小变化相同。因此,例如,可用微米级的螺杆来代表凸台元件,螺杆的刻度可用作间隙调整的测量。这简化了凸台元件的操作。
在另一实施例中,平衡力可用平衡力发生器来测量。
由于预紧力基本上对应于焊接加力,所以,焊接加力可用如此的测量来予以确定。这对于过程监视的目的来说可以是有用的。例如,该测量可用力测量单元来实现,力流可借助于该单元通过砧台。在液压或气动的平衡力发生器的情形中,替代地,可测量产生平衡力的压力。
在另一实施例中,测得的平衡力在设置系统时用作为不同薄膜结构的参考参数。
对于焊接不同的材料卷来说,可能需要不同的焊接力。为了能够快速地设定该力,需要维持合适的设定值。设定值可以在先前通过预紧力的测量已经获得。
在另一个实施例中,砧台以及与其相连的弹簧接头的可移动性,相对于其主弹簧的方向,被一个或多个侧向凸台横向地限制住。
这样,弹簧接头被保护而免遭可能相对于其主弹簧方向横向地破坏它的力。
在另一实施例中,砧台子结构用线性导向器相对于其所固定的元件可移动地安装。
在另一实施例中,温度受控的流体流过砧台,以对流体提供温度控制。
这可用来在焊接过程中保持温度的恒定,或用来在开始生产之前预热砧台。
在另一实施例中,温度控制系统直接布置在砧台和/或超声焊极的焊接部位附近。
该温度控制系统例如可以是电加热装置。它可用来保持过程温度的恒定,和/或用来在开始生产之前预热超声焊极和/或砧台。
在另一实施例中,检测砧台的焊接部位的温度和/或超声焊极焊接表面的温度。
这些温度代表了对焊接温度的测量。例如,这些温度可通过调节电路来保持恒定。
在另一实施例中,为了控制温度的目的,砧台和/或超声焊极都有温度恒定的空气对着它们鼓吹。
这可用来保持焊接过程温度的恒定,和/或用来在开始生产之前预热砧台和/或超声焊极。
在另一实施例中,可调节空气的温度,以便调节焊接部位处的温度变化。
在另一实施例中,超声焊极基本上用钛、铝或钢制造。
焊接过程中产生的如此的超声焊极的热量,可快速地从焊接部位耗散出去。这用来使系统较快地对焊接部位处的热变化作出反应。
在另一特别优选的实施例中,超声波振荡单元直接固定到超声焊极。这减小了超声焊极长度因温度波动引起的变化所造成的间隙宽度的变化。

具体实施方式
图1示出砧台1和带有其附件的砧台子结构2。砧台子结构3借助于弹簧接头5整体地装入工作部分12,该工作部分呈杆形的结构,砧台焊接表面布置在该工作部分上。这里砧台焊接表面包括砧台刀片13。此外,设置在杆形部分12上的是调整螺钉11,用来调整弹簧元件4的弹簧预紧力。此外,凸台7的可调整部分设置在砧台1内,该可调整部分与凸台8(图1中未示出)的第二部分协作。侧向设置在砧台1旁边的是两个侧凸台14中的一个,其固定到砧台子结构3。它限制了砧台沿侧凸台14方向的运动选项,这样,调整螺钉11处的调整力,或由于焊接过程的缺陷而可能发生的侧向力,都可实施弹簧接头5。砧台子结构3具有配装弹簧元件4的开口。它在砧台1的杆形工作部分12和砧台子结构3之间产生预紧力。弹簧元件4形成压力平衡装置4、5,其通过弹簧的作用来平衡超声焊极2的力。
图2示出基本上与图1相同的砧台元件。然而,由于视角不同,可以看到另一侧的凸台14。
图3也示出砧台子结构3和带有附件的砧台1。该立体图还示出凸台部分7的锁定螺母和彼此平行地布置在砧台子结构3的端面处的两个配合键15。它们用来定向较大单元内的超声波焊接装置的安装,例如,管形袋的包装机或线性排列的调整单元。
图4示出超声波焊接装置的侧视图。这里砧台子结构3显示为处于其安装位置,其中砧台子结构3只显示为平的矩形。它毗邻于带有砧台刀片13的砧台1。布置在砧台刀片13对面的是超声焊极2,其中,材料卷的焊接发生在非常小的中间空间(图中未示出)内。超声焊极2固定在超声焊极固定器6内,该固定器6又固定到底板16。固定到超声焊极固定器6的是凸台8的第二部分,其与固定在砧台1内的凸台7的可调整部分相接触。设定在可调整部分7处的位置直接影响砧台刀片13和超声焊极2之间的间距。超声焊极2连接到增压器10,超声焊极固定器6的连接部位在图中被隐藏。增压器10又连接到转换器9。固定到底板16的是线性导向器17,砧台1、砧台子结构3和砧台滑架19可被该导向器替换。砧台滑架19连接到气动缸18,气动缸18使砧台刀片13移离超声焊极2成为可能。以那种方式,焊接间隙开口很宽。气动缸18最好是双向作用的气动缸。终端板20和21安装在底板16的端部处,用来将超声波焊接装置固定在诸如机器中。
图5示出超声波焊接装置的立体图。这里可以看到基本上与图4中相同的部件。然而,超声焊极固定器6可看得更加详细。对中销22设置在端板20内,超声波焊接装置一旦配装到机器内,对中销22就便于超声波焊接装置的精确定位。
此外,可设置另一对砧台进行粗定位的凸台。该另一凸台可实施在线性单元内。
图6示出一替代实施例。与前面实施例相比,不是借助实体状态的接头而是借助于线性单元23对这里的砧台进行固定。弹簧元件24确保砧台13从动的可移动性。为了测量力,可设置力测量单元25,在许多情形中力测量单元可省略掉。
图7和8示出本发明第三实施例的侧视图和俯视图。
超声焊极2借助于超声焊极固定器6进行固定,并借助于幅值变换器10连接到转换器9。整个超声焊极固定器6可移动,一方面,沿着相对应的工具13的方向进行线性调节,另一方面,可如图7所示地围绕枢转轴线32枢转。配对工具13可围绕枢转轴线33枢转,借助于弹簧24将工具13预紧到预定位置,如图8所示。弹簧预紧力借助于心轴螺母26获得,通过转动手轮27可线性地移动该心轴螺母。借助于测力单元25可测量施加到材料卷上的力。
配对工具13可借助于线性驱动器朝向或远离超声焊极2移动。在所示实施例中,线性驱动器包括粗调驱动器34和精调驱动器35。精调驱动器35借助于微米级螺杆31进行调整,并借助于夹紧螺杆30予以固定。间距传感器29用来探测配对工具13的位置。

Claims (16)

1.一种用来焊接材料卷的超声波焊接装置,具有带砧台焊接表面的砧台(1)以及具有超声焊极焊接表面的超声焊极(2),其中,砧台相对于超声焊极可移动,并且设置有平衡力发生器,如果砧台移出离开超声焊极的参考位置,发生器则沿超声焊极方向将平衡力施加在砧台上,其特征在于,设置了凸台元件,凸台元件布置成限制砧台沿超声焊极的方向移动,以使砧台焊接表面保持相对于超声焊极焊接表面的最小间距,该最小间距由凸台元件予以固定。
2.如权利要求1所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,平衡力发生器(4、5)具有弹簧元件(4)。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,平衡力发生器(4、5)的平衡力是可调节的。
4.如权利要求1所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,该最小间距为可调节的。
5.如权利要求1所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,平衡力发生器(4、5)被调节成:在砧台处于相对于超声焊极(2)为最小间距时,砧台将力施加在凸台元件(7、8)上。
6.如权利要求1所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,超声焊极和砧台都固定到底部支架,其中,砧台借助于线性导向器朝向或远离超声焊极移动。
7.如权利要求1所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,所述砧台具有砧台子结构和工作部分,该工作部分借助于接头连接到砧台,且砧台焊接表面布置在该工作部分上。
8.如权利要求7所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,所述接头是固态接头。
9.如权利要求1所述的超声波焊接装置,其特征在于,砧台布置在可移动的线性单元上。
10.一种超声波焊接材料卷的方法,使用了如前述权利要求中任何一项所述的超声波焊接装置,其中凸台元件被调节成:使砧台焊接表面和超声焊极的焊接表面之间的最小间距小于将要焊接的薄膜厚度。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,其特征在于,所述最小间距在将要焊接的薄膜厚度的0.25和0.75之间。
12.如权利要求10或11所述的方法,其特征在于,平衡力发生器被调节成:使砧台将预设的焊接力施加到凸台元件。
13.如权利要求10或11所述的方法,其特征在于,第一焊接周期期间的焊接操作所用的超声波功率比第一焊接周期之后的第二焊接周期中所用的超声波功率更大。
14.如权利要求10或11所述的方法,其特征在于,探测超声焊极的焊接表面的温度,且根据超声焊极的焊接表面的温度来选择超声波功率。
15.如权利要求10所述的方法,其特征在于,超声焊极和/或砧台的温度被调节到工作温度。
16.如权利要求10或11所述的方法,其特征在于,检测砧台的平衡力并调节到预定值。
