尽管这一特点提供了可实现负载平衡(例如:PPP负载平衡)的方式,但它造成了问题:在两个独立的接入服务器上的两个会话之间难以实现接入线政策。例如,接入线政策可以包括每条接入线调度(整形)和每条接入线接纳控制,两者都为特定网络非常常见的操作要求。同样地,它也造成了问题:在由独立设备管理的会话间难以实现接入节点层的政策(例如:上述的呼叫接纳控制、调度、整形和故障排除等)。
确定性会话负载平衡和冗余

注意,如果首选接入服务器没有应答第一个单播消息,接入节点也可以使用故障转移技术。例如,接入节点可以检测从首选接入服务器返回的应答,如果计时器(248)在发现应答前超时,接入节点可以回退并广播消息给所有相应的接入服务器,从而任何可用的接入服务器仍然可以以传统的方式为建立会话而做出应答。

如果配置是在接入服务器上(例如:使用ANCP),在步骤515中,接入节点的某个特定端口从客户端设备105上收到一个会话发起消息400。在这一实施例中,接入节点插入端口ID到消息400中,并且在步骤520中转发消息给每个接入服务器。当收到会话发起消息400时(步骤525),在步骤530中,每个接入服务器决定其是否是消息所含端口ID对应的首选服务器。如果不是,在步骤535中,接入服务器可以丢弃该消息或者做上述的具有延迟的应答。如果接入服务器是首选服务器,那么在步骤540中该服务器应答会话发起消息(例如:无延迟)。
相反地,如果首选服务器的配置是在接入节点上,在步骤515中,接入节点的某个特定端口仍会收到一个会话发起消息400,但是现在可使用两种选项(“A”或“B”)。根据第一个选项(“A”),接入节点插入首选服务器标识到消息400中,并在步骤545中转发该消息给每个接入服务器。这里,当收到会话发起消息400时(步骤525),在步骤550中,根据消息中所含的标识,每个接入服务器决定其是否是首选服务器。如果不是首选接入服务器,在步骤555中,接入服务器可以做具有延迟的应答,然而,如果其是首选服务器,那么在步骤540中该服务器应答会话发起消息(例如:无延迟)。
或者,接入节点可以执行第二个选项(“B”)。步骤560取代步骤545,接入节点仅单播会话发起消息给首选接入服务器(例如:将多播/广播消息转化为单播消息)。在这一实施例中,如上所述,一个子程序(处理)可在步骤565中执行,具体请参考图6。
简单地说,图6展示了与此处描述的一个或多个实施例(例如:单播消息400)相一致的示范过程(子过程),即确保首选接入服务器会应答。过程600开始于步骤605(从图5中),并继续至步骤610,即当单播消息400给首选服务器时,启动一个计时器。如上所述,在步骤615中,如果计时器超时后,首选接入服务器还未应答会话发起消息,那么在步骤620中,接入节点可以多播会话发起消息给所有相连的接入服务器,并且子过程600于步骤625回到图5。如果首选服务器在步骤615中做了应答,那么接入节点并不需要执行进一步的操作,并且子过程直接回到图5,而不多播消息。
从步骤560(或565)返回图5,在步骤525中,某个接入服务器收到会话发起消息(或者多个接入服务器,如图6所示),并且在步骤570中,收到消息的接入服务器应答该消息(例如:只有首选服务器才会收到单播消息,或者在传统方式下,剩余的接入服务器确保至少有一个接入服务器是客户可用的)。
无论路径如何配置,当接入服务器在步骤535,540,555和/或570做出应答后,客户端的设备就可以选择第一个(或仅有的)应答了会话的接入服务器。以这种方式,首选接入服务器通常是被选择的服务器(除了发生故障或误配置等情况),因此会产生期望的确定性会话负载平衡和冗余。过程500以步骤580结束。
此处描述的新技术有利地实现了基于接入的计算机网络中的确定性会话负载平衡和冗余。通过为接入节点上的每个端口配置首选接入服务器,此新技术只允许一个接入服务器作为接入节点特定端口的首选控制器。然而,在先前的技术中,端口可能随时随地终止,而且无法知道哪个端口或服务器会与分配给用户的会话相连接。具体地,上述技术介绍了三种机制,这些机制使得操作员能够在接入节点上为给定端口(例如:端口范围)指定首选接入服务器。每种机制在解决问题时对接入节点(例如:DSLAM)、接入服务器(例如:BRAS)和相关协议有着不同程度的影响。此处描述的一个或多个实施例中的动态方案也降低了对于复杂的、低效率的手动配置的需求。
尽管此处展示并描述的实施例实现了基于接入的计算机网络中的确定性会话负载平衡和冗余,但能理解的是,可在本发明原则和范围内进行各种改进和变化。例如,此处展示并描述的实施例涉及了关于DSL接入(例如:DSLAMs、BRASes等)的网络。但是,本发明的实施例从广义上说不应受限,并且实际上可用于任何接入技术,这些技术特点是接入设备(例如:DSL、以太网、无线网等)和共享媒介,包括两个或多个用户终结点(接入服务器)和与之相连的、某种形式的多路复用接入节点(例如:交换机、集线器等)。
此外,在上述技术范围内也可考虑其他实施例,例如,允许接入服务器间进行通信来确保一致性的配置,以及根据系统条件动态改变应答/丢弃(接受/拒绝)的决定(例如:带宽分配、失效,实时流量状况等)
举例来说,在另一个实施例中,可使用从接入服务器发送给接入节点的应答消息动态决定端口的首选服务器配置。例如,图7展示了一个开始于步骤705的过程700。在步骤710中,用户可发送会话发起消息(例如:PPPoE PADI消息),在步骤715中,接入节点的特定端口收到该消息。在步骤720中,接入节点随后转发该消息给所有接入服务器,并且在步骤725中,该节点可能以传统方式从接入服务器收到应答(例如:首个应答)。在步骤730中,接入服务器可以存储应答的(首选)接入服务器的ID,该服务器在步骤735中被客户设备所选(如同图5中的步骤575一样)。在步骤740中,接入节点收到另一个会话发起消息,但是,如果,收到消息的端口与前一个消息端口一样,那么过程700将继续至步骤750,并转至图5中的步骤545或560,进而由接入节点来管理首选接入服务器。换句话说,根据第一个应答接入节点特定端口的会话发起消息的接入服务器,接入节点可以为将来同一个端口的请求动态确定首选接入服务器。在这种方式下,尽管负载平衡并未最优化,接入节点仍能确保接入节点(例如:给定的端口或整个节点)的任意会话集可由同一个接入服务器来处理。

Claims (25)
1.一种方法,包括:
为基于接入的计算机网络中的接入节点的每个端口配置多个接入服务器中的首选接入服务器;
在接入节点的具体端口接收会话发起消息;以及
基于为具体端口配置的首选接入服务器,将会话发起消息转发给一个或多个接入服务器。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,配置步骤包括:
基于端口标识,为接入服务器的每个端口配置首选接入服务器。
3.如权利要求2所述的方法,还包括:
使用接入节点控制协议ANCP来配置接入服务器。
4.如权利要求2所述的方法,还包括:
接入节点将具体端口标识插入到会话发起消息中;
基于配置和端口标识,接入服务器响应所述会话发起消息。
5.如权利要求4所述的方法,其中,应答步骤包括:
响应于所述接入服务器是对于会话发起消息中的端口标识的首选接入服务器,应答所述会话发起消息;以及
响应于所述接入服务器不是对于会话发起消息中的端口标识的首选接入服务器,丢弃所述会话发起消息。
6.如权利要求4所述的方法,其中,应答步骤包括:
响应于所述接入服务器是对于会话发起消息中的端口标识的首选接入服务器,不带延迟地应答所述会话发起消息;
响应于所述接入服务器不是对于会话发起消息中的端口标识的首选接入服务器,带有延迟地来应答所述会话发起消息。
7.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,配置步骤包括:
为接入节点的每个端口配置首选接入服务器。
8.如权利要求7所述的方法,还包括:
接入节点将基于具体端口的首选接入服务器指示插入到会话发起消息中;
接入服务器基于所述指示来应答会话发起消息。
9.如权利要求8所述的方法,其中,应答步骤包括:
响应于所述接入服务器是所指示的首选接入服务器,不带延迟地应答所述会话发起消息;
响应于所述接入服务器不是所指示的首选接入服务器,带有延迟地应答所述会话发起消息;
10.如权利要求7所述的方法,还包括:
基于为具体端口配置的首选接入服务器,将所述会话发起消息只转发给所述首选接入服务器。
11.如权利要求10所述的方法,还包括:
响应于向所述首选接入服务器转发所述会话发起消息,启动计时器;
监测消息从而判断所述首选接入服务器是否应答;
响应于所述首选服务器没有应答,将所述会话发起消息转发给所述多个接入服务器。
12.如权利要求7所述的方法,其中,配置步骤包括:
基于在接入节点的给定端口接收到的初始会话发起消息和第一个应答的接入服务器,为接入节点的每个端口配置首选接入服务器,其中对于在所述给定端口接收到的任何其它会话发起消息的首选服务器是所述第一个应答的服务器。
13.一种系统,包括:
在基于接入的计算机网络中的多个接入服务器;
与每个接入服务器相连的接入节点,所述接入节点具有一个或多个端口;
其中,为所述接入节点的每个端口配置了所述多个接入服务器中的首选接入服务器,并且所述接入节点被配置为基于为已经收到会话发起消息的具体端口配置的首选接入服务器,将收到的所述所述会话发起消息转发给一个或多个接入服务器。
14.如权利要求13所述的系统,其中,对每个端口的首选接入服务器是在接入服务器上基于端口标识来配置的。
15.如权利要求14所述的系统,其中,所述接入节点被配置为将具体端口ID插入到所述会话发起消息中,并且所述接入服务器被配置为基于所述配置和端口标识来应答所述会话发起消息。
16.如权利要求13所述的系统,其中,在接入节点上为每个端口配置首选接入服务器。
17.如权利要求16所述的系统,其中,所述接入节点被配置为基于具体端口,将首选接入服务器指示插入到所述会话发起消息中,并且所述接入服务器被配置为基于所述指示来应答所述会话发起消息。
18.如权利要求16所述的系统,其中,所述接入节点被配置为基于为具体端口配置的首选接入服务器,将所述会话发起消息只转发给所述首选接入服务器。
19.一种节点,包括:
一个或多个网络端口,适合于与多个接入服务器和基于接入的计算机网络中的一个或多个客户端设备互联;
与所述网络端口耦合的处理器,所述处理器适合于执行一个或多个处理;
存储器,被配置为存储可在所述处理器上执行的接入节点处理,所述接入节点处理当被执行时可操作用于:i)在具体端口接收来自客户端设备的会话发起消息;和ii)基于所述多个接入服务器中为具体端口配置的首选接入服务器,将所述会话发起消息转发给一个或多个接入服务器。
20.如权利要求19所述的节点,其中,接入节点处理还可操作用于:
将具体端口的端口标识插入到所述会话发起消息中,其中,所述接入服务器被配置为基于所述端口标识来应答所述会话发起消息。
21.如权利要求19所述的节点,其中,对每个端口的首选接入服务器在所述节点上被配置,并且所述接入节点处理还可操作用于:
基于具体端口,将首选接入服务器指示插入到所述会话发起消息中,并且所述接入服务器基于所述指示来应答所述会话发起消息。
22.如权利要求19所述的节点,其中,对每个端口的首选接入服务器在所述节点上被配置,并且所述接入节点处理还可操作用于:
基于为具体端口配置的首选接入服务器,将所述会话发起消息只转发给所述首选接入服务器。
23.一种节点,包括:
一个或多个网络端口,适合于与基于接入的计算机网络中的接入节点互联;
与所述网络端口耦合的处理器,所述处理器适合于执行一个或多个处理;
存储器,被配置为存储可在所述处理器上执行的接入服务器处理,所述接入服务器处理当被执行时可操作用于:i)从接入节点接收会话发起消息,所述会话发起消息具有基于已经从客户端设备收到所述会话发起消息的接入节点的具体端口的首选接入服务器指示;和ii)基于所述指示,应答所述会话发起消息。
24.如权利要求23所述的节点,其中,对每个端口的首选接入服务器是在所述节点上基于端口标识来配置的,所述端口标识是会话发起消息中的指示,并且所述接入服务器处理还可操作用于:
响应于所述节点是针对所述端口标识的首选接入服务器,应答所述会话发起消息;
响应于所述接入服务器未被配置为针对所述端口标识的首选接入服务器,丢弃所述会话发起消息。
25.如权利要求23所述的节点,其中,每个端口的首选接入服务器在所述接入节点上被配置,所述会话发起消息中的所述指示是首选服务器的指示,并且所述接入服务器处理还可操作用于:
响应于所述节点是所指示的首选接入服务器,不带延迟地应答所述会话发起消息;
响应于所述接入服务器不是所指示的首选接入服务器,带有延迟地来应答所述会话发起消息。
