Abstract
The invention discloses methods and a system for acquiring charging information of local internet protocol (IP) access. The methods of the invention comprises a method (1) comprising the following steps: a wireless side network element or a home base station gateway or a local gateway collects information connected by the local IP access, generates a charging data record of the local IP access, and transmits the charging data record to a charging system by a network element of a core network; or a method (2) comprising the following steps: the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway collects the information connected by the local IP access to obtain the statistical information of the local IP access, and transmits the statistical information of the local IP access to the network element of the core network, and the network element of the core network generates a charging data record of the local IP access according to the statistical information of the local IP access, and transmits the charging data record to a charging system. In the invention, the problem that a local IP access function is introduced so as not to be charged is solved, thereby effectively realizing the functional completeness of a mobile communication system.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of mobile communications, and in particular, to a method and a system for acquiring local IP access charging information.
Background
The Evolved Packet System (EPS) of the third Generation Partnership Project (3rd Generation Partnership Project, abbreviated as 3GPP) is composed of an Evolved Universal mobile telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio access Network (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio access Network, abbreviated as E-UTRAN), a mobile Management unit (Mobility Management Entity, abbreviated as MME), a Serving Gateway (S-GW), a Packet Data Network Gateway (Packet Data Gateway, abbreviated as P-GW or PDN GW), a Home Subscriber Server (Home Subscriber Server, abbreviated as HSS), an Authentication Authorization and Accounting (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting, AAA) Server of the 3GPP, a Policy and Accounting Rules Function (Policy and Charging Rules Function, abbreviated as PCRF) Entity and other support nodes. Fig. 1a is a schematic diagram of an EPS system architecture according to the related art, in which a mobility management entity is responsible for related operations of a control plane such as mobility management, processing of non-access stratum signaling, and management of a user mobility management context; the S-GW is an access gateway device connected with the E-UTRAN, forwards data between the E-UTRAN and the P-GW, and is responsible for caching paging waiting data; the P-GW is a border gateway of an EPS and Packet Data Network (PDN) Network, and is responsible for accessing the PDN and forwarding Data between the EPS and the PDN; both the S-GW and the P-GW belong to a core network gateway.
The home base station is a small-sized and low-power base station, is deployed in indoor places such as homes, offices and the like, and mainly has the functions of providing higher service rate for users, reducing the cost required by using high-rate services and making up for the defects of coverage of the existing distributed cellular wireless communication system. The home base station has the advantages of practicability, convenience, low power output, plug and play and the like. In the home base station system, the home base station is a wireless side network element. The hnb may be directly connected to the core network, as shown in fig. 1a, or may be accessed to the core network through the logical network element of the hnb gateway, as shown in fig. 1b, where the hnb gateway mainly functions as: the safety of the home base station is verified, the registration of the home base station is processed, the home base station is operated, maintained and managed, the home base station is configured and controlled according to the requirements of an operator, and the home base station is responsible for exchanging data of a core network and the home base station.
Besides supporting the access of a mobile core network, the mobile communication system (including a home base station system) can also support a local IP access function, and can realize the local access of the terminal to other IP equipment of the home network or the internet under the conditions that a wireless side network element has local IP access capability and a user subscribes to allow the local IP access.
The local IP access can be implemented in a variety of connection establishment methods: the access of the core network and the access function of the local IP can be simultaneously realized by establishing a connection (as shown in fig. 1a and fig. 1 b), and at this time, the function of a local gateway does not need to be added on a wireless side network element or a home base station gateway; powerful support for local IP access technology can also be provided by adding a local gateway, which can co-operate with the wireless side network element (as shown in fig. 2 a). In the presence of the femto gateway, the local gateway may be configured not only with the femto, but also with the femto gateway (as shown in fig. 2 b). The Local gateways may be L-SGWs (Local SGWs) and L-PGWs (Local PGWs), and may be separate L-PGWs. In addition, the home base station gateway can be combined with the home base station. For a UTRAN (Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network) system, the core Network Gateway may be SGSN (Serving GPRS Support Node) or GGSN (Gateway GPRS Support Node). The Local gateway may be L-GGSN (Local GGSN) and L-SGSN (Local SGSN), or may be a separate L-GGSN.
Taking LTE (Long Term Evolution ) mobile communication network architecture as an example, fig. 3a and 3b show schematic data flows of local IP access and core network connection in the wireless communication systems of fig. 1a and 2a, respectively.
Based on the system architecture of fig. 1a and a scenario in which the local access gateway is an L-SGW and an L-PGW, fig. 4 shows a flowchart of a core network connection charging information obtaining process in the prior art. The specific steps are described as follows:
step 401, the terminal has a core network connection after accessing the wireless communication system.
Step 402, the S-GW collects information (such as traffic and duration) of the core network connection and generates a charging data record.
In step 403, the S-GW sends the charging data record to the charging system.
In step 404, the billing system receives and processes billing data records associated with the core network, facilitating the billing management and information statistics operations.
As can be seen from the above flow and fig. 3a, in the presence of local IP connection, the terminal local IP data stream is directly sent to the internet by the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway, but does not pass through the core network gateway, such as S-GW or P-GW, at this time, the core network gateway cannot perform charging information statistics on the local IP connection, and meanwhile, there is no problem of charging information transmission between the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway and the mobility management entity, which results in that charging processing cannot be performed on the local IP access connection of the terminal.
Disclosure of Invention
The technical problem to be solved by the invention is to provide a method and a system for acquiring local IP access charging information, so as to solve the problem that the local IP connection charging information cannot be counted and transmitted at present.

In the following embodiments, fig. 5a, 5b and 6 describe application scenarios based on the E-UTRAN system.
Fig. 5a is a flow chart of a process for obtaining charging information for a terminal local IP access connection based on the system architecture of fig. 1 a. In this embodiment, the local IP access point is located in the wireless side network element, and the charging data record is generated by the wireless side network element, and the specific steps are described as follows:

For simplicity of description, the above two embodiments only take the case of fig. 1a of the E-UTRAN system as an example to illustrate the charging acquisition manner for the local IP access information. In addition, the foregoing embodiment is a preferred embodiment, and in practical application, the wireless side network element may send the local IP access charging information to the charging system via the mobility management entity, the core network S-GW, and the core network P-GW, or may send the local IP access charging information to the charging system directly via the mobility management entity, and so on. For simplicity of description, the above embodiment only takes the case where the E-UTRAN system fig. 1b generates the charging data record by the femto-gw as an example to illustrate the charging acquisition manner for the local IP access information. In the system, the home base station gateway may also collect information of local IP connection and the S-GW generates a charging data record to implement a charging acquisition mode for local IP access information, which is very similar to the charging record generation network element in the embodiment of fig. 5b, and does not affect the description of the present invention, so that the description is not repeated here.
For simplicity of description, the above embodiment only takes the case of fig. 1b of the E-UTRAN system as an example to illustrate the charging acquisition manner for the local IP access information. In the scenario of fig. 2b, the charging acquisition of the local IP access information may be performed by the home base station gateway or the local gateway to perform statistics on the local IP access information, the charging information is sent to the mobility management entity by the home base station gateway or the local gateway, and the transmission route and the generation network element of the charging record are very similar to the above embodiments, which will not affect the description of the present invention, and therefore, the description is not repeated here.

Step 702, the wireless side network element collects the information (such as flow and duration) of the local IP access connection and generates a charging data record.
Step 703, the wireless side network element sends the charging data record to the mobility management entity, which may carry the identification information of the charging system.
In step 704, the mobility management entity sends the charging data record of the local IP connection to the charging system.
If step 703 does not carry the identification information of the charging system, the mobility management entity selects the charging system according to the local policy, or selects according to the type of the received information.
Step 705, the billing system receives and processes the billing data records of the local IP connection, facilitating the execution of the bill management and information statistics operations.
The above embodiment takes the case of UTRAN system fig. 1a generating charging data records by wireless network elements as an example to explain the charging acquisition mode for local IP access information. In addition, in the system, the wireless side network element may also collect information of local IP connection and generate a charging data record by the mobility management entity SGSN to implement a charging acquisition mode for local IP access information: the wireless side network element sends the information of collecting local IP connection to the mobile management entity SGSN, and the mobile management entity SGSN generates a charging data record and then sends the record to a charging system.
For simplicity of description, the above embodiment only takes the case of UTRAN system fig. 1a as an example to illustrate the charging acquisition manner for the local IP access information. In the scenario of fig. 1b, 2a, and 2b, or in an E-UTRAN system, or in the presence of a home base station gateway, the charging acquisition of the local IP access information may be performed by a wireless side network element, or a home base station gateway, or a local gateway to count the local IP access information, and the charging information is sent to a mobility management entity by the wireless side network element, or the home base station gateway, or the local gateway.
In addition, this embodiment is a preferred embodiment, the wireless side network element, or the home base station gateway, or the local gateway may send the local IP access charging information to the charging system via the mobility management entity and the core network gateway, and may generate a charging data record according to the local IP access statistical information by the mobility management entity or the core network gateway, and so on. And will not be described in detail herein.
The system for acquiring the local IP access charging information of the embodiment of the invention comprises a wireless side network element, a core network element and a charging system,
the wireless side network element is used for collecting information of local IP access connection, generating a charging data record of local IP access and sending the charging data record to a core network element;
the core network element is used for forwarding the received charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
The system for acquiring the local IP access charging information of the embodiment of the invention comprises a home base station gateway, a core network element and a charging system,
the home base station gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection, generating a charging data record of local IP access and sending the charging data record to a core network element;
the core network element is used for forwarding the received charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
The system for acquiring the local IP access charging information of the embodiment of the invention comprises a local gateway, a core network element and a charging system,
the local gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection, generating a charging data record of local IP access and sending the charging data record to a core network element;
the core network element is used for forwarding the received charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
The system for acquiring the local IP access charging information of the embodiment of the invention comprises a wireless side network element, a core network element and a charging system,
the wireless side network element is used for collecting information of local IP access connection to obtain local IP access statistical information and sending the local IP access statistical information to a core network element;
the core network element is used for generating a charging data record of local IP access according to the local IP access statistical information and sending the charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
The system for acquiring the local IP access charging information of the embodiment of the invention comprises a home base station gateway, a core network element and a charging system,
the home base station gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection to obtain local IP access statistical information and sending the local IP access statistical information to a core network element;
the core network element is used for generating a charging data record of local IP access according to the local IP access statistical information and sending the charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
The system for acquiring the local IP access charging information of the embodiment of the invention comprises a local gateway, a core network element and a charging system,
the local gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection to obtain local IP access statistical information and sending the local IP access statistical information to a core network element;
the core network element is used for generating a charging data record of local IP access according to the local IP access statistical information and sending the charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
In the above embodiment, the wireless side Network element may be a base station, a home base station, and an RNC (Radio Network Controller).
The local gateway is a local service gateway and a local access gateway, or the local gateway is a local access gateway.
The core network element is a mobility management entity and/or a core network gateway; the core network gateway is a core network service gateway and/or a core network access gateway.
For an E-UTRAN system, a local access gateway is L-PGW, a local service gateway is L-SGW, a Mobility Management Entity is MME (Mobility Management Entity), a core network access gateway is P-GW, and the core network service gateway is S-GW;
for the UTRAN system, the local access gateway is L-GGSN, the local service gateway is L-SGSN, the mobility management entity is MSC (Mobile Switching center) or SGSN, the core network access gateway is GGSN, and the core network service gateway is SGSN.
The identification information may be an ID, an address.
The wireless side network element of the local IP access may be the same as the local access gateway address.
The local IP access connection is one or more of the following ways:
(1) local IP access to a user's local network
(2) Local IP Access corporate local network
(3) Local IP access to the Internet
(4) Offloading operations for internet traffic
(5) And (4) shunting operation of enterprise business.
It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that the modules or steps of the present invention described above may be implemented by a general purpose computing device, they may be centralized on a single computing device or distributed across a network of multiple computing devices, and they may alternatively be implemented by program code executable by a computing device, such that they may be stored in a storage device and executed by a computing device, or fabricated separately as individual integrated circuit modules, or fabricated as a single integrated circuit module from multiple modules or steps. Thus, the present invention is not limited to any specific combination of hardware and software.
The present invention may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or essential attributes thereof, and it should be understood that various changes and modifications can be effected therein by one skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
Claims (13)
1. A method for obtaining local IP access charging information comprises the following steps:
the method comprises the following steps: the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway collects information of local IP access connection, generates a charging data record of local IP access, and sends the charging data record to a charging system through a core network element;
or,
the second method comprises the following steps: the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway collects information of local IP access connection to obtain local IP access statistical information, and transmits the local IP access statistical information to the core network element; and the core network element generates a charging data record of local IP access according to the local IP access statistical information and sends the charging data record to a charging system.
2. The acquisition method according to claim 1,
the core network element is a mobility management entity and a core network service gateway;
for the first method, when the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway sends the charging data record to the mobility management entity of the core network, the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway also carries identification information of the service gateway of the core network, and the mobility management entity sends the charging data record to the service gateway of the core network according to the identification information of the service gateway of the core network;
for the second method, when the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway sends the local IP access statistical information to the mobility management entity of the core network, the mobility management entity also carries identification information of a core network service gateway, the mobility management entity sends the local IP access statistical information to the core network service gateway according to the identification information of the core network service gateway, and the core network service gateway generates a charging data record of local IP access and sends the charging data record to a charging system.
3. The acquisition method according to claim 1,
the core network element is a mobility management entity and a core network service gateway;
for the first method, after receiving the charging data record, if the mobile management entity judges that the charging data record does not carry the identification information of the core network service gateway, the mobile management entity selects the core network service gateway according to a local policy or the type of the received information, and sends the charging data record to the core network service gateway;
for the second method, after receiving the local IP access statistical information, if it is determined that the local IP access statistical information does not carry identification information of a core network service gateway, the mobility management entity selects a core network service gateway according to a local policy or according to a type of the received information, sends the local IP access statistical information to the core network service gateway, and the core network service gateway generates a charging data record of local IP access and sends the charging data record to a charging system.
4. The acquisition method according to claim 1,
the core network element is a mobility management entity;
for the first method, when the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway sends the charging data record to the mobility management entity of the core network, the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway also carries the identification information of the charging system, and the mobility management entity sends the charging data record to the charging system according to the identification information of the charging system;
for the second method, when the wireless side network element or the home base station gateway or the local gateway sends the local IP access statistical information to the mobility management entity of the core network, the mobility management entity also carries identification information of the charging system, generates a charging data record of the local IP access, and sends the generated charging data record to the charging system according to the identification information of the charging system.
5. The acquisition method according to claim 1,
the core network element is a mobility management entity;
for the first method, after receiving the charging data record, if the mobile management entity judges that the charging data record does not carry the identification information of the charging system, the mobile management entity selects the charging system according to a local policy or according to the type of the received information, and sends the charging data record to the charging system;
for the second method, after receiving the local IP access statistical information, the mobility management entity generates a charging data record of local IP access, and if it is determined that the local IP access statistical information does not carry identification information of a charging system, selects the charging system according to a local policy or according to a received information type, and sends the generated charging data record to the charging system.
6. The acquisition method according to claim 1,
the wireless side network element is a base station or a home base station or a wireless network controller;
the local gateway is a local service gateway and a local access gateway, or the local gateway is a local access gateway;
the core network element is a mobility management entity and/or a core network gateway; the core network gateway is a core network service gateway and/or a core network access gateway;
for an evolved universal mobile telecommunications system terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) system, the local access gateway is L-PGW, the local service gateway is L-SGW, the mobility management entity is a mobility management unit (MME), the core network access gateway is a packet data network gateway (P-GW), and the core network service gateway is S-GW;
aiming at a universal mobile telecommunications system terrestrial radio access network (UTRAN) system, a local access gateway is a local gateway general packet radio service support node (L-GGSN), a local service gateway is a local service general packet radio service support node (L-SGSN), a mobility management entity is a Mobile Switching Center (MSC) or a service general packet radio service support node (SGSN), a core network access gateway is a gateway general packet radio service support node (GGSN), and the core network service gateway is the SGSN.
7. The acquisition method according to any one of claims 1 to 6,
the local IP access connection is one or more of the following ways:
(1) local IP access to a user's local network
(2) Local IP Access corporate local network
(3) Local IP access to the Internet
(4) Offloading operations for internet traffic
(5) And (4) shunting operation of enterprise business.
8. A system for obtaining local IP access charging information comprises a wireless side network element, a core network element and a charging system,
the wireless side network element is used for collecting information of local IP access connection, generating a charging data record of local IP access and sending the charging data record to a core network element;

the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.

the home base station gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection, generating a charging data record of local IP access and sending the charging data record to a core network element;
the core network element is used for forwarding the received charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
10. A system for obtaining local IP access charging information comprises a local gateway, a core network element and a charging system,
the local gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection, generating a charging data record of local IP access and sending the charging data record to a core network element;
the core network element is used for forwarding the received charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
11. A system for obtaining local IP access charging information comprises a wireless side network element, a core network element and a charging system,
the wireless side network element is used for collecting information of local IP access connection to obtain local IP access statistical information and sending the local IP access statistical information to a core network element;
the core network element is used for generating a charging data record of local IP access according to the local IP access statistical information and sending the charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
12. A system for obtaining local IP access charging information comprises a home base station gateway, a core network element and a charging system,
the home base station gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection to obtain local IP access statistical information and sending the local IP access statistical information to a core network element;
the core network element is used for generating a charging data record of local IP access according to the local IP access statistical information and sending the charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
13. A system for obtaining local IP access charging information comprises a local gateway, a core network element and a charging system,
the local gateway is used for collecting information of local IP access connection to obtain local IP access statistical information and sending the local IP access statistical information to a core network element;
the core network element is used for generating a charging data record of local IP access according to the local IP access statistical information and sending the charging data record to a charging system;
the charging system is used for receiving and acquiring the charging data record.
