Abstract

At present, a method for automatically upgrading a network device has been proposed to achieve the purpose of accurate configuration, for example: the network management server completes the upgrading operation of the corresponding network equipment through the special channel established between each network equipment and the switch, namely: before upgrading, the network device and the switch establish a special channel for subsequently upgrading the network device, and then the network management server realizes the upgrading management of the network device through the special channel. Although the automatic upgrading method can save manual configuration work and improve the upgrading efficiency, the upgrading operation of the network equipment needs to be completed by a third party, namely a switch, in the execution process, so that when the network management server executes the upgrading management of the network equipment, the additional configuration of the third party needs to be completed, the cost is high, and the implementation process is complicated.

Here, MSG _ TYPE corresponding to the private protocol that notifies the network device to download the configuration file sent by the network management server is 4, DATA _ NUM is 7, DATA1 corresponds to the fourth item in table 1, which describes the TYPE of FTP/TFTP server, 0 denotes FTP, and 1 denotes TFTP; DATA2 corresponds to the fifth entry in Table 1, describing the address of the FTP/TFTP server; DATA3 corresponds to the sixth entry in table 1, describing the target path for the download; DATA4 corresponds to the seventh entry in table 1 and describes the file name of the configuration file; DATA5 corresponds to the eighth entry in table 1 and describes the username required to download the configuration file; DATA6 corresponds to the ninth entry in table 1 and describes the password required to download the configuration file; DATA7 corresponds to the fourteenth entry in table 1 and describes the CRC required for checking when downloading a configuration file. Wherein, the DATA _ NUM can be flexibly expanded.
Step 207: the network equipment downloads the configuration file from the network management server and returns a downloading result to the network management server;
the method specifically comprises the following steps: the network device downloads the configuration file from the FTP/TFTP server after receiving the notification of the network management server, and returns the downloading result to the network management server.
In this step, MSG _ TYPE corresponding to the private protocol sent by the network device is 7, DATA _ NUM is 1, DATA1 corresponds to the tenth item in table 1, which describes the result of downloading the configuration file, and 0 indicates that the downloading is successful and the verification is correct; 1 indicates successful download but check error; and 2 indicates a download failure. Wherein, the corresponding relation between 0, 1 and 2 and the downloading result can be flexibly changed.
Step 208: the network management server informs the network equipment of upgrading the downloaded configuration file;
the method specifically comprises the following steps: after the network management server determines that the network equipment has successfully downloaded the configuration file, the network management server informs the network equipment to upgrade the downloaded configuration file by using a private protocol loaded by TCP, and the upgrading mode comprises immediate upgrading and timed upgrading. The reason for the failure of downloading the configuration file is complex, and the specific processing method is not within the protection scope of the present invention, and is not described in detail herein.
Here, MSG _ TYPE is 8, DATA _ NUM is 1 or 2 corresponding to the private protocol issued by the network management server, if the upgrade mode is immediate upgrade, DATA _ NUM is 1, DATA1 corresponds to the eleventh item in table 1, and the upgrade mode is described, that is: 0 represents an immediate upgrade; if the upgrade mode is a timed upgrade, DATA _ NUM is 2, and DATA1 corresponds to the eleventh item in table 1, describing the upgrade mode, that is: 1, the timing mode is timing upgrade; DATA2 corresponds to the twelfth entry in table 1 and describes the time of the timed upgrade.
Step 209: the network equipment updates the configuration file after receiving the notification and returns an updating result to the network management server;
here, MSG _ TYPE ═ 9, DATA _ NUM ═ 1, and DATA1 correspond to the thirteenth item in table 1, where DATA1 describes the upgrade result of the configuration file, and 0 indicates that the upgrade is successful; 1 indicates upgrade failure.
Step 210: the entire upgrade process of the network device ends.
In the step 208, if the upgrade mode is immediate upgrade, the method further includes, between the step 209 and the step 210: the network management server informs the network device to upload the log file, namely, to upload the file corresponding to the result of the upgrade configuration file, and the network device uploads the log file to the FTP/TFTP server after receiving the notification and sends the upload result to the network management server.
Here, the network management server notifies the network device that the private protocol for uploading the log file corresponds to MSG _ TYPE 10, DATA _ NUM 6, and DATA1 corresponds to the fourth item in table 1, which describes the TYPE of FTP/TFTP server, 0 denotes FTP, and 1 denotes TFTP; DATA2 corresponds to the fifth entry in Table 1, and describes the address of the FTP/TFTP server corresponding to the uploaded log file; DATA3 corresponds to the sixth entry in table 1, and describes the destination path of the upload; DATA4 corresponds to the seventh item in table 1, describing the file name of the log file; DATA5 corresponds to the eighth entry in table 1, and describes the user name required for uploading the log file; DATA6 corresponds to the ninth entry in table 1 and describes the password required to upload the log file. Wherein the DATA _ NUM is flexibly scalable.
The network device uploads the upgrade result, wherein MSG _ TYPE corresponding to the private protocol is 11, DATA _ NUM is 1, DATA1 corresponds to the thirteenth item in table 1, and describes the upload result of the log file, and 0 indicates that the upload is successful; 1 indicates an upload failure.
When the upgrading mode is timing upgrading, after the network equipment finishes upgrading, if the TCP connection between the network management server and the network equipment is not disconnected, the network management server can inform the network equipment to upload the log file through the still existing TCP connection, the network equipment uploads the log file to the FTP/TFTP server after receiving the notice, and the uploading result is sent to the network management server through the still existing TCP connection; if the TCP connection between the network management server and the network equipment is disconnected, the network management server can inform the network equipment of uploading the log file in other modes, and the network equipment sends the uploading result to the network management server in other modes. The other modes can be as follows: the network management server can inform the network equipment to upload the log file by issuing other remote control protocols, such as a user data packet protocol (UDP), and the network equipment sends the uploading result of the log file to the network management server through the UDP.
Further, after step 210, the network management server notifies the network device to disconnect the TCP connection; and the network equipment disconnects the TCP connection with the network management server after receiving the notification.
The method specifically comprises the following steps: the network management server receives the upgrading result of the configuration file sent by the network equipment and determines that the upgrading is successful, then the network equipment is informed to disconnect the TCP connection by using the private protocol loaded by the TCP, and the network equipment disconnects the TCP connection with the network management server after receiving the notification.
Here, MSG _ TYPE is 2 and DATA _ NUM is 0 corresponding to the private protocol sent by the network management server, that is, the protocol does not include DATA parameters.
In order to implement the method, the present invention further provides a system for upgrading a network device, as shown in fig. 3, the system includes: a network management server and a network device; wherein,
the network management server is used for establishing TCP connection with network equipment; in the upgrading process, a TCP-loaded private protocol is issued to the network equipment to inform the network equipment of upgrading, and an upgrading result of the executed corresponding upgrading operation returned by the network equipment through the TCP-loaded private protocol is received;
the network equipment is used for establishing TCP connection with a network management server; in the upgrading process, after receiving an upgrading notification sent by the network management server through the private protocol borne by the TCP, executing corresponding upgrading operation, and returning a corresponding upgrading result to the network management server through the private protocol borne by the TCP.
The network management server is further used for informing the network equipment to disconnect the TCP connection between the network equipment and the network equipment through a private protocol borne by the TCP after the network equipment is upgraded; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network device is further configured to execute a link-breaking operation of the TCP connection after receiving the notification sent by the network management server.
The network equipment is further used for reporting the self upgrading progress to the network management server at regular time through a private protocol loaded by the TCP in the upgrading process; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network management server is further used for receiving the upgrading progress sent by the network equipment.
The network management server utilizes a private protocol borne by TCP to carry out an upgrading process of communication with network equipment, and the upgrading process specifically comprises the following steps:
receiving and judging equipment information sent by the network equipment, and sending upgrading information corresponding to the judgment result to inform the network equipment of upgrading; receiving a corresponding upgrading result fed back by the network equipment; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network device utilizes a private protocol carried by TCP to carry out an upgrading process of communication with a network management server, and the upgrading process specifically comprises the following steps:
sending own equipment information to the network management server, executing corresponding upgrading operation after receiving upgrading information sent by the network management server, and feeding back a corresponding upgrading result to the network management server.
The network management server judges the equipment information sent by the network equipment and sends the upgrading information corresponding to the judgment result to inform the network equipment of upgrading; receiving a corresponding upgrading result fed back by the network equipment, specifically:
judging equipment information sent by the network equipment, and informing the network equipment to disconnect TCP connection when the network equipment is determined to be illegal; when determining that the version and the configuration of the network equipment need to be upgraded, informing the network equipment to download the version file; when determining that the version of the network equipment does not need to be upgraded and the configuration needs to be upgraded, informing the network equipment to directly download the configuration file;
after receiving a version file downloading result sent by the network equipment, notifying the network equipment to restart, and receiving a restarting completion result reported by the network equipment; after receiving the configuration file downloading result sent by the network equipment, informing the network equipment to upgrade the downloaded configuration file, and receiving the upgrading result of the configuration file returned by the network equipment.
The network device executes corresponding upgrading operation after receiving upgrading information sent by the network management server, and feeds back a corresponding upgrading result to the network management server, and the method specifically comprises the following steps:
after the network management server determines that the connection is illegal and receives the notice of disconnecting the TCP connection, the TCP connection between the network management server and the network management server is disconnected; after receiving the notification of the network management server, downloading the version file or the configuration file, and returning the downloading result to the network management server; restarting after receiving the notification of the network management server, and notifying the network management server after restarting; after receiving the notice of the network management server, the configuration file is upgraded, and the upgrading result is returned to the network management server.
The network management server informs the network equipment of the upgrading modes of the upgrading configuration file including immediate upgrading and timing upgrading, when the upgrading mode is immediate upgrading,
the network management server is further used for notifying the network equipment to upload the log file after receiving the upgrading result of the configuration file sent by the network equipment and receiving the log file uploading result sent by the network equipment; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network device is further used for uploading the log file after receiving the notice sent by the network management server and sending the uploading result to the network management server.
The above description is only exemplary of the present invention and should not be taken as limiting the scope of the present invention, and any modifications, equivalents, improvements, etc. that are within the spirit and principle of the present invention should be included in the present invention.

Claims (12)

1. A method for upgrading network equipment is characterized in that a network management server establishes a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connection with the network equipment; the method further comprises the following steps:
in the upgrading process, the network management server sends a TCP-loaded private protocol notification to the network equipment to inform the network equipment of upgrading, the network equipment executes corresponding upgrading operation after receiving the notification, and returns a corresponding upgrading result to the network management server through the TCP-loaded private protocol.
2. The method for upgrading network equipment according to claim 1, wherein the network management server and the network equipment perform a communication upgrading process by using a private protocol carried by a TCP, specifically:
A. the network equipment sends own equipment information to the network management server;
B. the network management server judges the equipment information sent by the network equipment and sends the upgrading information corresponding to the judgment result to inform the network equipment of upgrading;
C. and the network equipment executes corresponding upgrading operation after receiving the upgrading information and feeds back a corresponding upgrading result to the network management server.
3. The method of network device upgrade according to claim 2,
the step B specifically comprises the following steps: the network management server judges the equipment information sent by the network equipment and informs the network equipment to disconnect the TCP connection when determining that the network equipment is illegal; when determining that the version and the configuration of the network equipment need to be upgraded, informing the network equipment to download the version file; when determining that the version of the network equipment does not need to be upgraded and the configuration needs to be upgraded, informing the network equipment to directly download the configuration file;
the step C specifically comprises the following steps: the network equipment downloads the version file after receiving the notification of the network management server and returns a downloading result to the network management server; the network management server informs the network equipment of restarting, the network equipment executes restarting operation after receiving the notice, and informs the network management server after restarting; the network equipment downloads the configuration file after receiving the notification of the network management server and returns a downloading result to the network management server; the network management server informs the network equipment to upgrade the downloaded configuration file, and the network equipment upgrades the configuration file after receiving the notification and returns the upgrade result to the network management server.
4. The method for upgrading network equipment according to claim 3, wherein the network management server informs the network equipment of upgrading modes of the upgrading configuration file, including immediate upgrading and timed upgrading;
when the upgrade mode is immediate upgrade, the network device further includes, after returning the upgrade result of the configuration file to the network management server:
the network management server informs the network equipment to upload the log file, and the network equipment uploads the log file after receiving the notice and sends an uploading result to the network management server.
5. The method for upgrading a network device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, further comprising, after the network device is upgraded: the network management server informs the network equipment to disconnect the TCP connection between the network management server and the network equipment through a private protocol borne by the TCP, and the network equipment executes the chain disconnection operation of the TCP connection after receiving the notice.
6. The method for upgrading network equipment according to any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein in the process of upgrading network equipment, the method further comprises: the network device reports the upgrading progress of the network device to the network management server at regular time through a private protocol loaded by the TCP.
7. A system for upgrading a network device, the system comprising: a network management server and a network device; wherein,
the network management server is used for establishing TCP connection with network equipment; in the upgrading process, a TCP-loaded private protocol is issued to the network equipment to inform the network equipment of upgrading, and an upgrading result of the executed corresponding upgrading operation returned by the network equipment through the TCP-loaded private protocol is received;
the network equipment is used for establishing TCP connection with a network management server; in the upgrading process, after receiving an upgrading notification sent by the network management server through the private protocol borne by the TCP, executing corresponding upgrading operation, and returning a corresponding upgrading result to the network management server through the private protocol borne by the TCP.
8. The system for network device upgrade according to claim 7,
the network management server utilizes a private protocol borne by TCP to carry out an upgrading process of communication with network equipment, and the upgrading process specifically comprises the following steps: receiving and judging equipment information sent by the network equipment, and sending upgrading information corresponding to the judgment result to inform the network equipment of upgrading; receiving a corresponding upgrading result fed back by the network equipment; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network device utilizes a private protocol carried by TCP to carry out an upgrading process of communication with a network management server, and the upgrading process specifically comprises the following steps: sending own equipment information to the network management server, executing corresponding upgrading operation after receiving upgrading information sent by the network management server, and feeding back a corresponding upgrading result to the network management server.
9. The system for network device upgrade according to claim 8,
the network management server judges the equipment information sent by the network equipment and sends the upgrading information corresponding to the judgment result to inform the network equipment of upgrading; receiving a corresponding upgrading result fed back by the network equipment, specifically: judging equipment information sent by the network equipment, and informing the network equipment to disconnect TCP connection when the network equipment is determined to be illegal; when determining that the version and the configuration of the network equipment need to be upgraded, informing the network equipment to download the version file; when determining that the version of the network equipment does not need to be upgraded and the configuration needs to be upgraded, informing the network equipment to directly download the configuration file; after receiving a version file downloading result sent by the network equipment, notifying the network equipment to restart, and receiving a restarting completion result reported by the network equipment; after receiving a configuration file downloading result sent by the network equipment, informing the network equipment to upgrade the downloaded configuration file, and receiving an upgrading result of the configuration file returned by the network equipment;
correspondingly, after receiving the upgrade information sent by the network management server, the network device executes the corresponding upgrade operation, and feeds back the corresponding upgrade result to the network management server, which specifically includes: after the network management server determines that the connection is illegal and receives the notice of disconnecting the TCP connection, the TCP connection between the network management server and the network management server is disconnected; after receiving the notification of the network management server, downloading the version file or the configuration file, and returning the downloading result to the network management server; restarting after receiving the notification of the network management server, and notifying the network management server after restarting; after receiving the notice of the network management server, the configuration file is upgraded, and the upgrading result is returned to the network management server.
10. The system for upgrading network equipment according to claim 9, wherein the network management server notifies the network equipment of upgrading modes of the upgrading configuration file including immediate upgrading and timed upgrading, and when the upgrading mode is immediate upgrading,
the network management server is further used for notifying the network equipment to upload the log file after receiving the upgrading result of the configuration file sent by the network equipment and receiving the log file uploading result sent by the network equipment; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network device is further used for uploading the log file after receiving the notice sent by the network management server and sending the uploading result to the network management server.
11. The system for upgrading network equipment according to any one of claims 7 to 10, wherein the network management server is further configured to notify the network equipment to disconnect TCP connection between the network equipment and the network equipment through a private protocol carried by TCP after the network equipment is upgraded; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network device is further configured to execute a link-breaking operation of the TCP connection after receiving the notification sent by the network management server.
12. The system for upgrading network equipment according to any one of claims 7 to 10, wherein the network equipment is further configured to report the upgrade progress of the network equipment to the network management server at regular time through a private protocol carried by a TCP during the upgrade process; accordingly, the method can be used for solving the problems that,
the network management server is further used for receiving the upgrading progress sent by the network equipment.
