背景技术
在普通的冲击阻尼应用例如头盔、面板等中,来自冲击的能量通过泡沫的压垮或变形而被转化成热。存在两种主要类型的泡沫:硬并可压垮的泡沫,以及有弹力的橡胶材料。冲击特征取决于泡沫的特征和泡沫的厚度。从Brock USA可以获得一种多孔的单元封闭的泡沫。该泡沫包括聚丙烯或聚乙烯的珠粒。珠粒通过刚好接触它们的切点而熔合在一起,以获得多孔泡沫。
在US 6 098 209中公开了用于运动用品的保护衬垫,其中弹性珠粒装在透气层的外壳中。当在所述衬垫上施加冲击或力时,珠粒压缩,以吸收并消散冲击。在压缩后,所述衬垫反弹以产生泵吸作用,这使空气通过透气层循环进出衬垫,从而将热量和汗从使用者的身体吸走。

虽然存在用于冲击阻尼的材料,但这些材料存在一些缺点。用于保护的材料通常导致,例如,头盔过大并且不是非常使用者友好,或者使车辆中的面板减小了可用空间。
需要用于冲击阻尼的改进的材料。
发明内容
本发明的目的是提供一种可吸收大量冲击能并节省空间的材料。
根据本发明,上述目的通过一种夹层材料来实现,该夹层材料包括具有低透气性的第一层和可压缩、优选弹性的第二层,该第二层具有用于内部气体流通的气流通道,其中,所述气流通道设有适于在所述气流通道中提供气流的多次速度方向变化的褶部(convolution)。形成第二层的材料也可以固有地提供粘性阻尼。
所述材料可用在不同的阻尼应用中。一个实施例涉及例如在头盔中保护使用者的头部。在这种情况下,要保护的物体被提供保护的阻尼材料包围。另一实施例涉及施加在一表面上的材料,该材料的目的是保护被抛向该表面的物体,例如在冲击中被抛向汽车中的面板的人。在这种情况下,阻尼材料形成例如汽车中的面板。
当本发明的夹层材料受到冲击时,该夹层材料可有效地吸收冲击。第二层通过冲击局部压缩,之前位于第二层被压缩区域中的空气或气体将被迫从冲击位置的气流通道中逸出。由于第二层中的褶部/障碍,气流必须改变方向许多次,气流方向的改变将导致气体中的动能转变成热能。具有低透气性的第一层将迫使气流沿阻尼材料的面流动,并更有效地迫使空气受到更多的速度改变。第一层的低透气性将在所述层的面内提供气流。如果没有第一层,气流将沿第二层的法线方向容易地逸出,即沿具有很少速度变化的很短的距离逸出,并且阻尼作用将不充分。低透气性意味着气体或空气主要是被迫逸出第二层。因此,透气性是在夹层材料受压处第二层输送气体的能力与第一层承受气体输送的能力的关系。本发明的夹层材料的优点是,可以获得薄且体积小、但仍具有良好的冲击阻尼特性的材料。
从属权利要求给出了优选实施例。
第二层可以具有颗粒,通过颗粒可以获得简单的材料。颗粒可以是球形的,并且颗粒优选彼此连接成在颗粒之间形成气流通道。颗粒用作气流的障碍。这样,颗粒之间的气流通道将具有用于将动能转变为热能的褶部。
夹层材料的第二层可具有5%至30%的相对密度。文中,相对密度是多孔第二层的实际密度与形成第二层的材料的实心体的(密度)比的测量值,并且相对密度表示为第二层中材料的实际密度与全密度的百分比。因此,可以将第二层压缩到可提供有效冲击阻尼的程度。较低的相对密度将导致大量的空气通过冲击而被压缩。但这也将降低所述材料的刚度。所述范围被认为是提供刚度和阻尼的适当的平衡。
夹层材料中具有低透气性的第三层可以在第一和第三层之间引导第二层中的气流,并迫使气流在很大程度上改变方向,以提高阻尼效率。第三层设置在第二层的与第一层相对的一侧。第三层的透气性可以与第一层的透气性不同。应该注意,第三层可以由包括所述第一层和所述第二层的夹层材料连接在其上的另一物体形成。
夹层材料中的第一层也可以是负荷分配层,由此,局部冲击使第二层在比冲击区域大的区域内压缩。第一层同样也可以将一些冲击能转化为第一负荷分配层中的破碎能。第一层可以是例如硬壳的形式,或类似地形成具有结构弯曲强度的负荷分配层。负荷分配层也可以是在所述材料的面内具有高的刚度由此提供负荷分配层的较薄材料。该刚度可以例如由例如树脂制成的基体内的纤维提供。
身体保护装置例如头盔可以包括本发明的夹层材料。该夹层材料也还可以用于例如汽车中的面板。

具体实施方式
在优选实施例中,图1所示的根据本发明的用于冲击阻尼的夹层材料7用在根据图3的头盔8中。
图1中的夹层材料7包括分配负荷并具有低透气性的第一层2。该夹层材料还包括第二层3,该第二层具有例如半封闭的微单元结构的颗粒6,该颗粒6彼此连接并且当夹层材料受到压缩时允许气体在颗粒之间的气体通道5中流动。单元是弹性的,以提供夹层材料的可压缩性。第二层也可提供粘性阻尼。具有低透气性的第三层4可进一步提供引导气体从压缩位置向第二层3中受压缩区域周围的体积流动的可能性。第三层4朝向使用者的头部,在第三层和头部之间可能具有其它的层。为了允许有效的冲击阻尼,夹层材料7可以具有约10mm的厚度。该厚度足以允许要保护的物体在不会引起严重伤害的时间内停止,并同时使头盔由于较薄的夹层材料7而可舒适地佩戴。为了能够提供该冲击阻尼,相对密度应该在约10-20%。夹层材料7可以压缩至约2mm,该厚度足以使佩戴装有夹层材料7的头盔8的人脑和头不受伤害。此外,颗粒尺寸对阻尼特性具有影响,因为速度改变次数取决于第二层中的颗粒量。在优选实施例中,颗粒的优选平均颗粒尺寸在0.05至0.2mm的范围内,更优选约0.1mm。
在另一实施例中,第二层3是具有封闭和开放单元的塑料泡沫。封闭和开放单元的优选关系是,50-80%封闭单元,50-20%开放单元。平均单元尺寸在0.05至0.2mm的范围内,更优选约0.1mm。
根据图2,夹层材料1也可包括具有低透气性的第一层2和具有半封闭的微单元结构的第二层3。该材料1可用于汽车中的保护面板,其中,乘客在碰撞时可能会受伤。在这里,材料1可以比头盔8中的材料厚,并且根据封闭单元的尺寸,材料1可以较大。所述面板也可以安装到基部,该基部提供具有较低透气性的第三层。
Claims (6)
1.一种用于冲击阻尼的夹层材料,包括具有低透气性的第一层(2)和可压缩并具有用于内部气体流通的气流通道(5)的第二层(3),其中,第二层(3)中的材料具有5%至30%范围内的相对密度;其中,所述气流通道(5)设有适于在所述气流通道(5)中提供气流的多次速度方向变化的褶部,由此将气体中的动能转化为热能,所述褶部由平均颗粒尺寸在0.05mm至0.2mm范围内的颗粒形成、或由具有平均单元尺寸在0.05mm至0.2mm范围内的封闭和开放单元的泡沫形成,其中,封闭和开放单元的关系是,50%-80%的封闭单元,50%-20%的开放单元。
2.根据权利要求1的夹层材料,其特征在于,第二层(3)是具有颗粒(6)的材料,该颗粒形成位于颗粒(6)之间的所述气流通道(5)。
3.根据权利要求1至2中任一项的夹层材料,其特征在于,该夹层材料还包括具有低透气性的第三层(4),该第三层设置在第二层(3)的与第一层(2)相对的一侧。
4.根据权利要求1或2的夹层材料,其特征在于,第一层(2)是负荷分配层,由此,局部冲击使第二层(3)在比冲击区域大的区域中压缩。
5.一种包括根据权利要求1至4中任一项的夹层材料的头盔(8)。
6.一种包括根据权利要求1至4中任一项的夹层材料的面板。
