Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及用于将封盖密封至塑料容器的热封工具,从而形成密封包装体,尤其是已知为起泡包装体的用于隐形眼镜的一次性包装体。
背景技术
自从软水凝胶隐形眼镜在二十世纪70年代首次被引入以来,它们已经越来越流行使用。这种隐形眼镜传统地被包装在水合状态中并处于储存溶液中。许多隐形眼镜与含水储存溶液一起被包装在一次性泡罩包装体(blister package)中,其中所述包装体大体是由硬质聚合物(rigid polymer)形成。起泡包装体的实施例可见美国专利公开文献No.4691820;No.5524419;No.5578331;No.5649410;No.5722536和No.6082533。起泡包装体的基体可以是原始的隐形眼镜模具的一部分或者是大体由硬质聚合物形成的单独成型的基体。在上述类型的包装体中,包含隐形眼镜和任何含水储存溶液的基体通过柔性封盖被密封。该封盖(lidstock)大体上是一种层叠的箔片,所述层叠的箔片可以通过使用者被向回拉,以触及包含在基体内的隐形眼镜。大体上,该封盖被密封至包含隐形眼镜的基体的部分周围的区域。基体的该密封区域大体上已经是大致平坦的表面区域,或升高平坦的环形表面,例如美国专利公开文献No.5722536中所见。
然而,已经发现的是,该密封区域无论是否升高在密封过程中可以造成问题。例如,如果成型过程被用于形成起泡包装体,则材料可具有一些收缩,导致稍微凹形或凸形的密封表面,而不是平坦的表面。尽管对应肉眼而言,密封表面好像是平坦的,但是弯曲可足以导致封盖与包装体的密封表面之间的很差的密封。
用于将封盖密封至塑料容器的凸缘的密封工具大体上具有下侧面,所述下侧面在所述凸缘的正下方支承容器;以及上侧面,所述上侧面推压封盖抵靠着密封包装体的凸缘的密封表面的表面,包装体由下侧面支承,所述下侧面与包装体的凸缘的下侧表面接触。大体上,上侧面被加热,从而通过将封盖的热塑性基层熔化至凸缘的密封表面而提供密封。现有技术的密封工具大体上具有平坦的面,其中它们接触封盖和包装体的凸缘的下侧表面,以便密封。
改进密封可靠性的一种方法是增加由工具所施加的密封压力或温度。然而,这还可导致所形成的密封或钎焊部的增加的强度,从而消费者很难在打开包装体时从包装体的其余部分取出封盖。这是不期望的并可导致包装体的物品的溢出。
因此,本发明的一个目的是提供一种用于将封盖密封至起泡包装体的热封工具,所述热封工具在维持容易打开的同时提供了改进的密封可靠性。
发明内容
本发明的第一方面提供了一种用于将封盖密封至硬质聚合物容器的热封工具,其中所述硬质聚合物容器包括井格以及具有弯曲上侧密封表面和下侧表面的凸缘,所述工具包括适于接触所述凸缘的下侧表面的第一板以及适于推压封盖抵靠着凸缘的密封表面的第二板,所述第二板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的密封表面大致相同的曲率。优选地,所述第一板还被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的下侧表面大致相同的曲率。理想地,第二板被弯曲成具有与凸缘的密封表面完全相同的曲率,而第一板被弯曲成具有与凸缘的下侧表面完全相同的曲率。
通过将第二板设有与凸缘的弯曲密封表面大致相同的曲率,在第二板与封盖接触以推压封盖抵靠着凸缘的密封表面时,在凸缘的密封表面上将施加大致均匀的接触时间和接触压力,导致在整个凸缘上密封强度的更大均匀性。这种均匀性还通过以下方式被改进,将第一板设有与凸缘的下侧表面大致相同的曲率,从而在各板被挤压在一起同时夹置封盖和凸缘时,在密封加工的整个时间跨度内在凸缘的整个密封表面上施加大致均匀的压力。
具体实施方式
已经发现的是,传统上被用于形成起泡包装体的硬质聚合物容器的成型工艺、大体上热学成型可导致成型之后的容器的不均匀的收缩,并且这导致了容器的凸缘的密封表面呈现凹形或凸形。这种弯曲并不可由肉眼容易观察到,并且通过测量起泡端从平坦的基准表面的高度来确定曲率半径。
尽管弯曲度较小(也就是曲率半径较大),但是足以导致凸缘的密封表面上的密封强度的显著差异,如果平坦的板被用于热封工具。
合适地,在使用中,第一板并不被加热,而处于环境温度,而第二板被加热至合适的温度,从而在各板被弄到一起以夹置封盖和凸缘时通过经由封盖传递的热量形成气密性密封。
封盖合适地是一种层叠的箔片,其具有基层,在与凸缘的密封表面接触被加热时,所述基层熔化以形成密封。优选地,层叠的箔片的上层是这样的表面,在所述表面上可进行印刷。一种合适的上层是诸如铝箔的金属箔片。
容器合适地由硬质聚合物成型,例如诸如聚丙烯或聚苯乙烯的热塑性聚合物。容器包括井格(well),其用于保持待包装的材料,例如具有水合溶液的软隐形眼镜;并还包括凸缘,所述凸缘包围所述井格,封盖密封至所述凸缘以形成密封的包装体。凸缘可简单地是包装体本身的顶侧表面,或者可以是包围井格并设置在包装体的顶侧表面上的升高区域的形式。凸缘的密封表面可以是凸缘的上侧表面的所有或一部分,将密封表面包围井格设置,从而在完成密封时,井格的物品被气密性密封。这种成型工艺的特点可导致包装体的顶侧表面以及因此凸缘、以及凸缘的密封表面具有凹形或凸形上侧表面。这可源自在形成井格的成型工艺过程中形成容器的聚合物的不均匀收缩。
在容器以平坦的聚合物片材作为开始并然后简单地成型以形成井格、同时留下剩余的表面作为井格的凸缘的情况中,凸缘的上侧密封表面和凸缘的下侧表面将赋予相同的曲率,由此在成型工艺中造成不均匀的张力,但上侧表面是凹形的而下侧表面是凸形的,或反之亦然。
本发明的另一方面在于,制备根据本发明第一方面的热封工具的方法,其中包括以下步骤,制备硬质聚合物容器,所述容器包括井格以及具有弯曲上侧密封表面和下侧表面的凸缘;测量上侧密封表面的曲率;并制备用于热封工具的第二板,所述第二板具有与上侧密封表面大致相同的曲率。
该方法还包括这样的步骤,测量凸缘的下侧表面的曲率,并制备用于热封工具的第一板,所述第一板具有与凸缘的下侧表面大致相同的曲率半径。
大体上,多个聚合物容器的实施例可以被制备和测量,从而平均曲率被用于制备用于热封工具的第二板和/或第一板的曲率。
凸缘的下侧和上侧密封表面的曲率可以通过任何合适的装置例如显微镜或干涉仪被测量。
本发明的另一方面提供了一种用于利用热封工具将封盖密封至硬质聚合物容器的方法,其中所述容器包括井格以及具有弯曲上侧密封表面和下侧表面的凸缘,其中所述热封工具包括适于接触凸缘的下侧表面的第一板以及适于推压封盖抵靠着凸缘的密封表面的第二板,所述第二板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的密封表面大致相同的曲率,所述第一板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的下侧表面大致相同的曲率。
为了更好的控制由根据本发明热封工具形成的密封的强度,优选的是,该工具被校准成,在第一板和第二板被弄到一起以夹置封盖和容器的凸缘时,所施加的力被控制在优选的范围内。这种校准可以借助于各板上的压力或位移读数以及相关的计算公式实现。然而,一种优选的方法是使用应变测量测压元件(例如,半导体测压元件),其中所述测压元件安装在印模泡罩包装体(replica blister package)内,而测压元件的表面与本发明工具所用的起泡包装体的密封表面处于同一位置。仿形的起泡包装体安装在第一板上,并然后,第一与第二板被一起弄到它们的正常密封位置,并且所施加的力由连接至测压元件的监视显示器显示。正常密封位置然后可以被调节和设定以给出由显示器所示的所需的密封力。

Claims (7)
1.一种用于将封盖密封至硬质聚合物容器以形成用于隐形眼镜的一次性密封包装体的热封工具,其中所述硬质聚合物容器包括井格以及凸缘,所述凸缘具有弯曲的上侧密封表面和下侧表面,其中所述工具包括适于接触所述凸缘的下侧表面的第一板以及适于推压所述封盖抵靠着所述凸缘的密封表面的第二板,所述第二板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的密封表面大致相同的曲率,并且所述第一板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的下侧表面大致相同的曲率。
2.根据权利要求1所述的热封工具,其特征在于,所述第二板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的密封表面完全相同的曲率。
3.根据权利要求1所述的热封工具,其特征在于,所述第一板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的下侧表面完全相同的曲率。
4.一种用于提供根据前述权利要求任一所述的热封工具的方法,包括以下步骤,制备硬质聚合物容器,所述容器包括井格以及凸缘,所述凸缘具有弯曲的上侧密封表面和下侧表面;测量所述上侧密封表面的曲率;并且制备用于所述热封工具的第二板,所述第二板具有与所述上侧密封表面大致相同或完全相同的曲率。
5.根据权利要求4所述的方法,其特征在于,还包括以下步骤,测量所述凸缘的所述下侧表面的曲率,并制备用于所述热封工具的第一板,所述第一板具有与所述凸缘的下侧表面大致相同或完全相同的曲率。
6.一种利用热封工具将封盖密封至硬质聚合物容器以形成用于隐形眼镜的一次性密封包装体的方法,其中所述硬质聚合物容器包括井格以及凸缘,所述凸缘具有弯曲上侧密封表面和下侧表面,所述热封工具包括适于接触所述凸缘的下侧表面的第一板以及适于推压所述封盖抵靠着所述凸缘的密封表面的第二板,所述第二板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的密封表面大致相同的曲率,并且,所述第一板被弯曲成具有与所述凸缘的下侧表面大致相同的曲率。
7.根据权利要求4至6任一所述的方法,使用了根据权利要求1至3任一所述的工具。
