Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明一般涉及诊断一种车辆的方法和系统,并尤其涉及显示由车载计算机系统产生的诊断故障代码。
背景技术
现代车辆包括一个计算机控制系统。该车辆计算机控制系统的主要目的是在最小空气污染排放的前提下,提供可能的最大引擎性能和最高燃料效率。该计算机控制系统由板载计算机和相关电子控制器件(传感器、开关、以及激励器)组成。该控制器件可能控制该车辆中的各个系统和/或子系统。这些电子控制器件向板载计算机发送关于外部空气的温度和密度、引擎的速度、所释放的燃料量等等这样的参数信息。同时,该板载计算机从它的传感器扫描任何问题。如果检测到一个问题,为了随后的恢复,该板载计算机参考诊断故障代码或故障代码,将该问题还原为数字代码,存储在其存储器中。在这个关系中,该诊断故障代码(DTC)是指定一个特殊问题区域的代码并将被被作为车辆适当集中维修的向导。
响应政府的规章和工业实践,车辆制造商开始使诊断故障代码标准化。例如,通信协议的电流产生标准被称为OBD II。从1996年开始,所有供销美国的车辆构造要求符合OBD II标准。
手持或便携式代码阅读器,也被称为诊断故障代码阅读器或者扫描工具,已经被用于解决错误或问题或与这些电子控制单元相结合。为了访问所存储的诊断故障代码,这样的代码阅读器被配置以与一个车辆的板载计算机进行电通信。对于由目标车辆实现的通信协议,更多复杂化代码阅读器可能被配置以确定一个特定的标准。该代码阅读器通过通常位于大多数车辆驾驶位上,仪表盘(控制面板)下的一个连接点与该车辆板载计算机联结。符合OBDII的车辆被配置为装备有一个板载计算机以从该代码阅读器接收一个16针数据链接连接器电缆。
该代码阅读器代表性地有一个用于指示所接收的诊断故障代码的显示器。某些代码阅读器包括存储器中存储的与诊断故障代码相关的问题描述数据。其他代码阅读器被用于与一个记录表的连接,该记录表包含该诊断故障代码相关的问题描述数据。
从车辆拥有人的观点看,代码阅读器的个人使用可能是有利的。车辆拥有人可能选择亲自修理,这与让服务提供商或者技师进行相同的修理相比,也许更节约实际的成本。
或者,即使利用服务技师的服务,由于关于车辆问题的种类和范围的先进的知识,车辆拥有人能减少无保证的服务和开销。而且,车辆拥有人可能免除对于服务技师执行非常类似的检索诊断故障代码并且将其与问题描述数据相关联的任务的服务费。
虽然代码阅读器具有上述优势,但当前的代码阅读器没有达到通常简化设计和显示,以增强易用性。
尤其,目前的代码阅读器在操作之前,通常需要一次手动设置。这次手动设置要求用户选择多种信息,例如,制造和型号信息,以设置该代码阅读器适当地接收和处理代码。
另外,目前的代码阅读器通常显示在测试下的可能不适用于特殊车辆的信息类别。这样,显示器变得过于复杂,并把许多用户弄糊涂。
因此,需要提供不要求手动执行设置的一个汽车代码阅读器,对所测试的车辆只显示信息类别,并且在单个显示器内排列显示的信息。
通过本发明实现的这些和其他目标和优势,在下面将被更详细地描述。
发明内容
公开一种显示汽车诊断信息的方法,其中包括把代码阅读器连接到车辆计算机,并且将监视器状态信息和故障代码传送给代码阅读器。
仅仅车辆支持的那些监视器功能和它们的状态一起被在代码阅读器上说明。从车辆传送的故障代码与故障代码描述符一起也被显示出来。
所有显示功能可以独立操作而不依靠识别所测试的车辆的类型的任何人工输入。
故障代码描述符和支持监视器功能的选择性说明独立于识别被测试的车辆的类型的任何用户输入而实现。
所有所支持的监视器被显示于一个单一的显示器中。
在一个实施例中,所有诊断显示功能被显示于单个显示器中。

具体实施方式
图1示出根据本发明操作的代码阅读器10。代码阅读器10包括容纳有效部件的壳体11,包括实现在下述的功能的电路。显示器13被设置在该壳体11上,并显示测试结果,如以下更充分描述的代码阅读器功能和监视器状态信息。
擦除按钮15用于擦除诊断故障代码(DTC)和静止帧数据并复位监视器状态。当出现一个以上的DTC时,滚动按钮17用于滚动显示器13以查看诊断故障代码。
链接按钮19用于链接该代码阅读器和车辆动力系控制模块(PCM)以检索存储器中是否出现任何DTC,并且查看就绪的监视器状态。电源按钮21操作开关该代码阅读器。
参见图2,显示器13被更详细地示出。如下所述,该显示器包括各种图标。这些图标被以这种方式有序排列以在单次检查中优化信息的显示,并且删除与所感兴趣的车辆的特殊类型无关的图标。
I/M监视器状态显示说明与被测试车辆内的监视器相关联的多种监视器。监视器包括多种功能,不是所有的功能都为一个特定车辆所支持。根据本发明,仅仅那些目前车辆支持的监控功能被启动。这里一台监视器被支持,但不是提供测试数据,而可能提供这样的指示,例如,通过闪烁适当的指示器。在一个监视器被支持时,但是对于规定的参数是不起作用的,也同样提供指示,例如,通过改变适当的显示的内容或者颜色。
车辆图标25指示代码阅读器是否正对车辆的数据链路连接器正确地提供动力。链接图标27指示代码阅读器是否正与车辆的板载计算机通信(链接)。计算机图标29提供关于监视器是否选择连接计算机链接的一个指示。电池图标31指示代码阅读器内部的电池的状态。
显示器33显示由代码阅读器识别的任何诊断故障代码的DTC号码。
每个特殊的故障被分配专门对应该故障的一个号码。
译码显示器35显示对应于在显示器33上说明的DTC的故障代码。这样,译码显示器避免用户对分别查阅可能对应于特定DTC的故障代码的一个列表的必要性。这样,为了用户的方便起见,代码阅读器允许更完整的信息显示于单个的显示器内。通过产生该故障代码描述符(译码)的代码阅读器中的一个查找表实现该译码显示器。
等待显示器37指示显示DTC是否是一条等待的代码。一个代码图标39识别代码数列显示区域。MIL图标41指示故障指示灯(MIL)的状态。只有当DTC命令MIL在车辆的仪表盘上点亮时,MIL图标才可以看到。
代码阅读器按照升序,以01为开始,把一个顺序号指派给每个出现在PCM存储器中的DTC。代码数列43指示被显示的DTC,以及有多少这样的代码在存储器中,例如,显示6个所存储代码的第2个代码。
图3实现通过本发明实现的一连串的步骤。这些步骤集中地显示信息,这在图2中更详细地示出。而且,这些步骤是典型的识别被测试的车辆类型的功能,这些监视器由这类型的车辆所支持,并且车辆状况与来自于相同类型车辆的故障代码相关。这样,用掩饰分析的复杂性的简单形式,收集、压缩、分类和显示信息。
如图3所示,代码阅读器连接车辆测试连接器并且在代码阅读器和车辆计算机之间建立了一个链接。
不同类型的车辆产生不同类型的信号。通过由代码阅读器接收的信号的分析,例如,已产生的监视器信号,车辆类型可以被确定。仅仅支持某些的监视器的地方,显示器只点亮所支持的监视器,而不是其他的监视器。这样,监视器功能的显示局限于由所测试的特定车辆支持的那些功能。
从车辆计算机传送的故障代码也在代码阅读器里显示。代码阅读器进一步使故障代码与同样在代码阅读器里显示的车辆状态描述相关联。
这样,信息被以一个方式收集、处理并且显示,这样的方式使对任何识别所讨论的车辆的附加信源的需要减到最小,并且监视器由该车辆所支持。另外,本发明避免了对于把显示故障代码与特定的车辆状况相关联的附加参考的需要。因此,发明提供显著的使用方便和对实际操作有用的便利。
如描述于此的,普通熟练的技术人员将认识到,在不背离本发明较宽范围的前提下,可以对本发明做出多种改变和修正。
Claims (7)
1.一种显示汽车的诊断信息的方法,包括:
把代码阅读器与车辆计算机连接;
把监视器状态信息和故障代码从车辆计算机传送到代码阅读器;
在代码阅读器上,选择性地点亮所测试的车辆支持的监视器图标;
显示所支持的监视器的状态;
显示从车辆计算机传送的故障代码;以及
显示对应于所显示故障代码的故障代码描述符。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中在接收该故障代码之后,独立于任何用户输入而产生故障代码描述符。
3.根据权利要求2所述的方法,其中独立于识别所测试的车辆类型的任何用户输入来产生该故障代码描述符。
4.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中独立于识别所测试的车辆类型的任何用户输入,实现选择性地点亮所支持的监视器。
5.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所有所支持的监视器的状态被显示在单个显示器上。
6.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中所有诊断显示功能被显示在单个显示器上。
7.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其中独立于识别所测试的车辆类型的任何手动输入而操作所有显示功能。
