Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及通过电子邮件网络传输数字化录制的影片,尤其但并非必须唯一涉及将影片组播传输给因特网上的多个选定接收者。
术语″影片″在此用于指任何介质上的记录信息,可以通过任何方式从该记录信息产生带有或不带有声音的运动图像。
背景技术
由于本发明使用了专有计算机系统和应用程序,因此应该承认这里所使用的以下术语是或者可能是注册或未注册的商标:AY Mail、Dreamweaver、Frontpage、Java、Macromedia、Microsoft、Windows和Windows Media。
因特网上的广告非常广泛,但其大部分是广播的--也就是说,广泛地发送,而不是传送给那些对该广告的主题感兴趣的人。这种广告方式的缺点人所共知:由于观看任何给定广告的大多数人对所广告的产品根本不感兴趣,所以很明显其效率低;并且由于该广告难免针对大多数消费群体而设计,并没有突出感兴趣的观看者最关心的特征,所以其基本上不能产生预期的效果。
已提出了组播广告来解决广播广告的这些缺点。(实际上,组播有时被认为是小范围广播,以强调其不同)。组播广告专门针对那些已知(或者至少被认为)对所广告的产品感兴趣的人,明显提高了效率和效果。
因特网、内部网以及根据类似原理组织的其它系统使得广告具有很强的针对性,直接到达单个个人,这对于组播是理想的。然而因特网广告仍然非常简单,几乎完全局限于带有极少运动并且没有声音的标签广告(banner advertising)。这些广告缺乏影响力,所以电视继续吸引多得多的广告收入就不足为奇了。但是这种情况正在改变。
众所周知,电视形式的影片可以在因特网上传输。Microsoft公司开发了视频音频交错(Audio Video Interleave)(AVI),用于从个人计算机上的硬盘和CD-ROM回放音频和视频,新近又定义了高级流格式(Advanced Streaming Format)(ASF),该ASF除了别的方面外还包括同步时间戳以便于在因特网上进行实时或流式音频和视频回放。
通过上述讨论可知,因特网支持组播(通过电子邮件)和影片(通过AVI)。还通过多用途网际邮件扩充协议(Multipurpose Internet MailExtensions)(MIME)提供这两者的结合,该MIME使得AVI文件和其他多媒体数据类型能够附属于电子邮件消息。因此可以将AVI格式的影片作为电子邮件消息的附件发送给一个或更多个选定的接收者。
发明内容
对于广告的目的,该方式的缺点在于广告为附件,除非且直到接收者打开附件时才能看到广告。本发明的目的是使影片(用于广告或任何其它目的)以下面的方式与电子邮件消息相关联,该方式使得一查看该消息该影片就开始播放。
因此,根据本发明,提供了一种通过电子邮件网络传输数字化录制的影片的方法,其中将该影片包括用于视频文件的应用程序代码,其中该应用程序代码添加有一前缀,以使得所述视频文件被嵌入该网络的电子邮件消息的正文中,而不是作为该电子邮件消息的附件,以使得一查看该消息该影片就开始播放。
该消息可以包括诸如以超文本链接标记语言(html)编写的指令,以无论何时打开或转发该消息时都自动发送回复,由此可以跟踪该消息的传输。
本发明尤其适用于在因特网或因特网的一部分(例如万维网(WorldWide Web)或者内部网)上传输广告或其他影片,为此目的,该方法可以包括如下步骤:
(a)将影片编码为流文件;
(b)创建网页,并将多个模板和所述文件插入其中;
(c)修改该网页以适于作为电子邮件消息进行查看;以及
(d)准备该消息以用于传送给该网络上的选定接收者。
该影片可以为AVI格式,而该流文件可以为ASF格式。为了便于在与该网络相连的不同系统之间进行传输,可以使用具有特定设置的特定编码器对该流文件进行编码。
优选地,使用基于框架的方法来创建该网页,以使得可以控制消息的位置。可以通过经设置的电子邮件发送软件(可能通过修改其指令)来修改该网页,以嵌入该消息,而不是将其作为附件携带。
该消息当然可以被发送给多个选定的接收者,并且优选地通过插入该接收者或每一个接收者的电子邮件地址并加入相应的路由选择和发送信息来准备该消息,以进行发送。
具体实施方式
现将参照本方法的多个步骤的具体示例来描述本发明,这些示例使用专有系统和应用程序。
通过本方法传输的影片通常为30秒的广告影片,该广告影片包含以AVI格式录制(以及编辑等)的音频和视频。本领域的那些技术人员可以理解,AVI使得因特网用户能够从远程站点下载音频-视频文件,以从该用户的计算机的硬盘进行回放。众所周知,AVI并不适于在因特网或其它分组交换网络上进行实时或流式回放,因为AVI缺乏对要从ASF流文件下载并且随后编码为ASF流文件的音频和视频流进行同步(以及再同步)的方法。然而AVI文件可以转换为ASF,该ASF支持因特网上的音频视频流。因此,通过本发明传输影片的第一步骤是将影片从AVI转换为ASF。
(a)编码
该转换处理采用Windows Media(4.1.0版本),Windows Media是由Microsoft销售的一套数字多媒体应用程序。
1.打开编码器。
2.选定自定义设置。选择AVI。选择要编码的AVI文件的文件名。
3.采用单比特率视频。
4.选择80-100kbps的比特率
5.如下选择编解码器-
音频:MPEG层3 16kbps 11,025khz 单声道
视频:Microsoft MPEG-4视频编解码器V1
6.点击高级页(advanced tab)。选择所需的尺寸并将游标设置为50。
7.将延迟缓冲器设置为1。
8.选择该ASF文件的存储位置并对其命名。
9.点击结束。
接下来,创建一网页。使用基于框架的方法来创建该网页,以在窗口中控制要发送的消息的定位。该过程提供三个按钮选项(具有滚卷(rollover)选项),即访问网站、给我们发电子邮件、和对你进行回复。该网页采用HTML和特别编码的Java编写,并且在这个阶段插入跟踪代码。
(b)创建网页
通过Dreamweaver 1来创建网页,该Dreamweaver 1是由Macromedia销售的WYSIWYG网站创建应用程序。
1.为要发送的消息建立一个文件夹并插入该ASF文件和一选定的图形模板(默认尺寸为450′320)。
2.打开Dreamweaver 1。
3.将该文件保存为vismail.htm。
4.插入该图形模板(使用插入-图像(Insert-Image))。
5.从对象工具条中选择绘制层工具。
6.绘制一层,其中需要将该消息显示在该模板上。
7.在编写代码的过程中,确保该层的代码在该模板的代码后面(如果需要,移动其中一者或两者)。
8.添加网络链接按钮(访问网站)、email链接按钮(给我们发电子邮件)和回复按钮(对你进行回复)。
9.添加跟踪代码。
10.添加源文件锁定代码(source lock code)。
11.保存该HTM文件并关闭。
一旦完成了该模板,就可以将该ASF视频文件添加到适当的框架中。该过程使用了两个独立的程序。第二个程序插入了在访问该电子邮件时使得该视频能够自动开始播放的代码。
(c)修改网页
通过Frontpage 2000来修改网页以对其进行察看,Frontpage 2000是由Microsoft销售的网络创作应用程序。
1.打开Frontpage 2000。
2.打开该HTM文件。
3.点击该层区域。
4.点击插入,然后点击图片页(picture tab)。
5.选择视频选项。
6.选择该ASF文件,这使得在该层的左上角出现一对象。点击并拖动该对象直至该对象充满该层区域。
7.通过点击HTM页并将高度值和宽度值修改为该ASF文件的高度值和宽度值(默认为320′160),来调整该对象。
8.点击预览页,以检查该影片的播放是否满意以及是否正确对齐。并适当调整HTML设置。
9.保存该HTM文件。
10.点击HTM页。选择所有HTML代码。按下CTRL C。
11.关闭Frontpage 2000。
现将该HTM页传送给特定的电子邮件发送软件。在该电子邮件发送软件中对其进行修改,以使图形和视频文件不作为附件携带,而是嵌入该电子邮件本身内。这可以通过在应用程序代码内加入前缀″cid:″来实现。
通过插入选定的多个接收者的一组电子邮件地址并加入相应的路由选择和发送信息来准备该消息以发送给该选定的多个接收者。在这个阶段将所嵌入的文件编程到软件中用于前向(onward)发送。
(d)准备发送
通过被称为AY Mail的电子邮件发送应用程序来准备该消息,以进行发送。
1.打开AY Mail V1.7。
2.点击消息页。
3.按CTRL V以显示该应用程序代码。
4.对每一个图形(模板、按钮、gif等)如下修改代码:
将src=″Background1.jpg″改为src=cid:Background1.jpg
将dynsrc=″vismail.asf″改为dynsrc=cid:vismail.asf
5.点击接收者标签,并且插入该消息的该预定接收者或每一个预定接收者的电子邮件地址。(这可以通过从任何文本文件进行剪切和粘贴来完成)。
6.点击头部(Header),然后
在收件人(To)域中输入接收者
在发送人(From)域中输入该发送者的电子邮件地址
在主题(Subject)域中输入vismail。
7.点击附件,附加构成该消息的所有图形文件和该ASF文件,但该HTM文件除外。
8.点击选项页,并且输入该发送者的简单邮件传输协议(SMTP)地址。
现在该消息已准备好发送。由于该影片被嵌入其中,所以接收者一查看该消息,就能看到该影片。
虽然参照使用特定的专有计算机系统和应用程序对本发明进行了描述,但是可以理解,本发明可以以其它多种方式实施,且本领域的那些技术人员显然可以进行其它的改进和修改。
Claims (12)
1.一种通过电子邮件网络传输数字化录制的影片的方法,其中该影片包括用于视频文件的应用程序代码,其中该应用程序代码添加有一前缀,以使得所述视频文件被嵌入该网络的电子邮件消息的正文内,而不是作为该电子邮件消息的附件,以使得一查看该消息该影片就开始播放,其中,所述网络是因特网或因特网的一部分,并且所述方法包括以下步骤:
(a)将所述影片编码为视频文件;
(b)创建网页,并将至少一个图形模板和所述文件插入其中;
(c)修改该网页以适于作为电子邮件消息进行查看;以及
(d)准备该消息以用于传送给所述网络上的选定接收者。
2.根据权利要求1所述的传输影片的方法,其中所述消息包括无论何时打开或转发所述消息时都自动发送回复的手段,由此跟踪所述消息的传输。
3.根据权利要求2所述的传输影片的方法,其中发送回复的所述手段包括以HTML编写的多个指令。
4.根据权利要求1所述的传输影片的方法,其中所述影片为AVI格式,而所述视频文件为ASF格式。
5.根据权利要求1所述的传输影片的方法,其中通过经选择和设置的编码器对所述视频文件进行编码,以便于在与所述网络相连的不同系统之间进行传输。
6.根据权利要求1所述的传输影片的方法,其中使用基于框架的方法创建所述网页,以使得可以控制所述消息的位置。
7.根据权利要求1所述的传输影片的方法,其中通过经设置的电子邮件发送软件来修改所述网页,以将所述影片嵌入所述消息中,而不是作为所述消息的附件来携带所述影片。
8.根据权利要求7所述的传输影片的方法,其中修改所述电子邮件发送软件的多个指令,以将所述影片嵌入所述消息中。
9.根据权利要求1所述的传输影片的方法,其中通过插入所述接收者或每一个接收者的电子邮件地址并加入相应的路由选择和发送信息来准备所述消息,以进行发送。
10.一种通过因特网或因特网的一部分向接收者传送电子邮件消息的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:
(a)提供被编码为视频文件的数字化录制的影片;
(b)提供其中插入有至少一个图形模板和所述文件的网页,所述网页被修改为适于作为电子邮件消息进行查看;
(c)提供应用程序代码,该应用程序代码添加有一前缀,以使得所述视频文件被嵌入到所述电子邮件消息的正文内,而不是作为该电子邮件消息的附件,以使得一查看该电子邮件消息该影片就开始播放;以及
(d)将所述电子邮件消息传送给所述接收者。
11.根据权利要求10所述的传送消息的方法,其中所述消息包括无论何时打开或转发所述消息时都自动发送回复的手段。
12.根据权利要求10或11所述的方法,其中所述视频文件为ASF格式,该ASF格式是从AVI格式的影片转换而得到的。
